Cassis

I looove coconut fig scents and this one is the creamiest one I’ve smelled so far, almost edible. The plum is present in the beginning which gives it a slight tart juiciness and dries down to a creamy woody skin scent. Definitely something I’d layer with Philosykos and Debaser.

A lovely woodsy, aromatic scent. I don't find it sweet or fruity at all as the accords on here would indicate— rather it leans heavily into the cedar/sandalwood/fig(tree/leaf) aspects. I can see coconut giving it some interesting body but I don't get any plum at all. I think maybe this is because I'm so used to Byredo's use of 'Plum' which is aggressively juicy/tart/fleshy and that is not the case here. The overall characteristic of this is more bright-woodsy and almost herbaceous (but not 'green'). Longevity is good and it has decent projection for a perfume oil.

Very Fig and wood. Kept thinking of Santal 33 and Philosykos, together. It’s very warm, pleasant and I liked but did not adore it. Soft, warm, hefty and long lasting. These little oils are great for travel. Given how surprising this range is, it was almost a relief to find a familiar scent. Very nice, not earth shattering but sometimes quietly familiar is lovely too.

Unique scent however would prefer a spray form as the oil has little longevity. Hope to find a similar fragrance that is a bit more green.

Cassis is a nice green fig with no sillage or longevity.

As already pointed out, 'Cassis' suggest something more herbal- and leafy, which is a bit misleading, since this is mainly about the fig. I generally like fig-perfumes a lot. This has a creamy quality, which is quite typical. It all sounds very nice until this point, but actually I just don't know. It's something about the fig meets cedar that does not work. I'm usually not particularly fond of cedar. It's just something discordant about it. Something harsh. Fig is often very pleasant, but this is not as pleasant as you might expect. If you are into fig, I would rather recommend Parisian musc or Philosykos any day of the week. However, if you are curious for something more niche, and you like the thought of fig-creamy, fruity-sweet, coconutty cedar – try this out.

Plum? What plum? Coconutty wood with a dry fig that disappears fast. It is pleasant and has that santal 33 vibe without the leather where the coconut and cedar give that slightly animalic earthiness. The name is totally misleading. Cassis would suggest blackcurrant fruitiness which this is not. Do not buy this based on the notes but if you are looking for a hybrid of santal 33 and premier figurier then this may be up your alley. Up to £60 for 10ml roll on only is a sticking point though so buy on offer if you must

embarrassingly, i didn't detect almost any of the listed notes in this fragrance. i didn't feel the fig or plum. the opening dab was powerfully green and lily-like, stamen-esque, like putting your nose into the deepest part of a flower or leaf. as it dried, the coconut took over and it maintained a gardeny creaminess. i used the oil; it had decent longevity on me, around 5 hours.

Easy pass if you have Philosykos. Didn’t enjoy the coconut.
