Kutay

Kutay is a proper potent perfume, and it delivers what it promises. The notes are pinpoint accurate in this perfume. From opening Whiskey accords surrounded by bitter Davana, soothing the edges with lemon. Caramel sweetness in mid isn’t syrupy sweet but perfectly paired to sooth the bitterness. Oud is all around the fragrance but not very loud, it is more woody than fecal, again perfect amount of oud to take the perfume into the heart of it! The projection is sooooo strong you can’t hide the beautiful aroma. Longevity is insane that even after 8 hours you are not into the drydown. But when it starts to drydown, you get this harsh but beautifully blended tobacco notes, alongside very very light vanillin undertones, and oud also mingles with these tobacco and vanilla notes. Tobacco although here is harsh but very beautiful and you can smell it throughout the whole wear from start to finish. This is heavenly perfume, i don’t understand why this is so underrated on frag community. I blind bought this gem from a discounter and from my 30+ niche perfume collection, this is by far the most interesting, most well crafted perfume i have. Note: This does NOT smell like Baraonda at any point, i can say this because i have Baraonda too, the whiskey note in the initial spray is little similar but Baraonda’s whiskey note is very soft and warm and photorealistic, whereas Kutay’s whiskey note is very loud and sweet and blended with other ingredients! A proper 10/10 perfume for any collector! Smell: 10/10 (depends if you like loud harsh bold dark brooding perfumes) which i definitely prefer ♥️ Longevity: 100/10 ETERNAL! Literally, sometimes i get nose tired from this perfume if i have applied it later in the day and it still projects like crazy when iam trying to sleep. Uniqueness: 100/10 Again, this doesn’t smell like any high end niche perfume on the market, this is very very unique, blend to perfection, with every note showing up! Sillage: 100/10. Unstoppable!!! Indoors, outdoors, party, clubbing, gymnastics, sports, it fills the air everywhere! What a gem of a perfume!

In preparation for this bad boy coming in the mail I decided to throw on Baraonda. I fell in love with that fragrance with its photorealistic whiskey top note. It’s really hard to compete with that fragrance honestly... The rose thats added is masterfully blended and it just smells gorgeous. There is one problem. I feel like I need to savior the nasamatto bottles because I got 30 ml for $150 which for price per ml is pretty stiff. So I would only spray that sparingly. Kutay is fantastic! I do also get photorealistic whiskey... but more-so this just evokes the feeling of drinking. Essentially you smell like you’ve been drinking alcohol. The opening especially so—because it’s fruity as well. It reminds you of being at a bar with different smelling cocktails all around you. Kutay has managed to some how capture that essence in a bottle and to me thats really cool and unique. This is similar to Baraonda in the fact they both have whiskey and thats about it. I would say Kutay takes a different turn it smells like honey at one point from the caramel I believe. I quite like it and I got a 100 ml for $185 which is a better cost value than the other stuff. I love boozy fragrances and if you love boozy this won’t disappoint at all. Lets be clear though this isn't a versatile fragrance its specific. To me, this is an oriental style boozy fragrance. I enjoy the opulence and I think this could be dressed up and enjoyed on many occasions. I think this whiskey is also playful and I could see someone wearing this to go out and party as well. This is one of my favorites and If I had to choose between this and Baraonda I wouldn’t I would keep both that's how much I like this style. If you like photorealistic whiskey with power than sample this. Also now that I think of It this also reminds me of the Jack Daniels with Carmel or Honey. It may seem off putting to smell like you’ve been drinking incessantly but to me it screams masculinity and its just fun to wear. 10/10 Cheers!

This is some insane stuff! Truly love it. People saying buy Baraonda yada yada yada, Baraonda is better etc... Keep yapping. They both sit equally next to eachother. None is better than the other. They both have equal quality. But present themselves differently. Baraonda is drier, more airy and a touch brighter in comparison. It is lighter (still dense) and becomes more intimate compared to Kutay. Still, extremely strong and amazing performance lasting hours. Kutay is overall sweeter and more dense. In a way, even more boozy than Baraonda. It's thick, syrupy, extremely boozy and blasts projection immensely while sticking on you easily for a whole day and on clothes it can last days. Literally days! Imagine Baraonda as a nice single malt whisky that has been peated slightly sitting in rum barrels. It's drier, a touch smoky and woody but also has a certain sweetness going through it. Kutay is like a nice barrel proof bourbon. A touch more sweeter (syrupy) and has more of oaky kick. You get more caramel, vanilla, chocolate, oak.... But due to that extra oaky kick. It can come off as drier even though the liquid itself is overall sweeter, but it sure is sitting in nice sherried cognac barrels. They both are truly amazing. And I love both for what they are. But I will have to say. When it comes to value. While still expensive. Kutay hands down wins. No contest. Cheapest I've seen Baraonda for is $240 AUD. Remember. That's 30ml. Kutay I've seen $260 AUD. That's 100ml. So if you want 100ml ( 90ml ) of Baraonda you're looking at a whopping $720 AUD. You can get two bottles of Kutay and still have money for something else like Atkinsons Pirates Grand Reserve... Which is another amazing rum fragrance. Overall, Kutay is mind blowing good. And I have the black bottle. God tier performance and projection. But if possible, try testing it out before pushing the button. Not blind buy safe.

Kutay brings in projection on another level. 2 sprays can be enough to fill a room. Genuinely insane how far it projects, even in public settings when there’s wind blowing against you it can be smelt from atleast 2 meters away. It’s genuinely crazy how far this scent projects. Plus it easily lasts above 12 hours. Maybe close to 14 to 15 hours. I found Kutay’s scent to be extremely unique like no other. You get a rich lemon and whiskey start, slowly drying down to a tobacco, caramel and amber smell. One of the most unique and maybe in my opinion the best tobacco scents out there. The oud isn’t overpowering and it isn’t the main note for this scent. The real magic happens with the mix of tobacco and the caramel. It provides such a unique scent, it’s smoky due to the tobacco yet I always do get this saffron scent alongside the whiskey note. It’s hard to explain but it’s genuinely amazing. Kutay reminds me of an Ottamen Empire palace, filled with wealth and authority. This scent can be used in formal occasions like work and meetings but at the same time I do think it can be worn in casual outtings, but may be too powerful for a date night. It’s better for a more open area due to its crazy projection. However be careful when spraying, I tried putting 3 and I just tasted it in my mouth for a while. The price point for this fragrance isn’t too crazy, around the standard niche price but for something this unique and with a beast mode performance I think you get a pretty good bang for your buck. Kutay is slowly shaping up to be one of my most favorite scents as I’m gravitating to wearing this more often now days. Scent: 10 Projection: 10 Longevity: 10 Value: 8 Overall: 9.5
