Venus in Tuberose

wearing this today. after weeks of conflicting feelings, and hurling over the initial sharp but strangely nostalgic aroma that drew me in, i have become intoxicated by this fragrance. there was something repulsive to me in the beginning, maybe the cream soda? or how the cream and the lime come together. but the way it settles into this blissful, sweet, ever-so-slightly fruity and juvenile sprightliness, I understood. it reminds me so much of my bedroom when i was a teenager. before all the drugs and the doom and gloom and the burdens of life. especially, in the summer. laying on the floor looking through fashion magazines with the windows open. clipping my favorite pictures and taping them all over the four walls of my bedroom. i'm not one for gourmand scents, but something about this isn't entirely gourmand to me. yes it's sweet/fruity but not too much of either. and yes, it's slightly creamy but there's the floral notes that blend, balance the cream, the raspberry. the lime is a nice touch, along with the chosen floral notes and the grass to tame that sweetness. tastefully done and memorable. maybe i'll get the full bottle. i love this house.

I’ve never cried from smelling a fragrance but came very close when I put this on today and thought it was so playful and innocent and unapologetic and thought to myself “this is what being a teen girl should’ve smelled like” Venus in Tuberose is BIG FUN, a lush, tart gourmand/white floral that smells like a lime sorbet, a raspberry Italian soda, pressing every flavor on the slushee machine, green and pink starburst popsicles and the addictive scent of tuberose Vibes: putting on lip gloss in the car, walking home with your friends in summer and laughing, kissing with pop rocks in your mouth, that feeling at the beginning of summer break when life stretches out in front of you, bad behavior that doesn’t have long-term life altering consequences, pink y2k outfits and a T-Mobile sidekick, what I think visiting Florida is like for rich people who aren’t from here A scent that is described as a “floral fruity gourmand” isn’t something I often find myself writing pages of emotional connections and imagery I associate with it but as someone said below I am fully UF pilled 💚

Warning, it's Sweet Tarts straight out of the bottle, but it dries down to a really lovely skin scent. This is what I always crave from an adelhyde, but, unfortunately, they dry down really metallic on me. It's also giving me what I always wanted from those 'clean laundry' scents. I don't want to smell like a dryer sheet, I want to smell like the idea of a laundromat with the door propped open on the first really warm sunny day of spring while a hospital television mounted in the corner plays 'Guiding Light.' By noon it it has the cream soda notes peaking through but never reads as gourmand or even edges into sugared rose territory. My favorite thing about it--it's skin scented but never veers animalic, somehow maintaining that freshness--maybe from the lime/grass notes. It's sparkling and youthful but mature at the same time. Reminds me of buying Love's Baby soft when I was a teen and compulsively smelling my wrists in class. Super harmonious! I'm going to buy a full bottle!

The Veronicas "Untouched" playing at a Libby Lu birthday party. Less childish and more the things that bring me back to the most fun parts of girlhood; flirtatious, playful, unabashed feminine joy. I get the raspberry, lime, and ice cream in a tart, bright opening and then after a few hours the cream soda, tuberose, and grass are what linger on me, like I'm half asleep on a park blanket. The sweet notes in this are beautifully brought to earth by the lime and grass, preventing them from feeling cloying or syrupy. The sillage/longevity aren't the strongest, but as someone that can't do intense scents this is perfect for me. Initially I had absolutely no interest in trying this - I'm a very fresh/earthy scent girl who doesn't usually care for hibiscus or sweet/gourmand scents at all, so the notes on this immediately lost me. Something made me try it on a whim anyway and I'm so glad I did. Makes me feel like Molly Gunn and Ray Schleine at the same time.

I'm averse to overtly fruity and gourmand scents but the bright and fizzy raspberry-lime hard candy opening of this one has the same thrill of being allowed to wear a bikini for the first time, which I can't possibly resist. Best of all, the candied intensity of the fruit fades before it becomes overbearing and the scent opens up into a lovely cream soda style tuberose and hibiscus that makes for the ideal summer scent. Think vanilla ice cream melting down your hand, consciously licking it off so your crush sees. Venus in Tuberose allows me to tap into my Bath & Body Works adolescence minus the regression; the perfect reconciliation of the wish to be grown and the confidence in having done so.

I found this perfume through Pinterest and was immediately influenced to buy a sample due to the beautiful reviews of the product. After a week, the sample finally came in yesterday, and only one word comes to mind...DIVINE. This is a chic yet girly scent, its very reminiscent of my childhood with a "grown woman" twist. It starts very tart and almost gummy (but in the best way possible) then dries down to a deliciously creamy yet fresh scent. I immediately bought a 50 ml bottle and perfume pen. I know this is a limited release, but I really hope Courtney changes her mind and keeps this as a core collection, I already see myself buying this again many times down the line.

truly intoxicating. Upon initial spray, I smelled only the fizz of pop and green grass which freaked me out a bit, and I was looking forward to the ice cream note more than anything . After a couple minutes it died down to a creamy, delicious, girly scent. It smells like a pink crush cream soda float with vanilla ice cream. It smells like laying in the grass with a sprinkler. It smells like putting a flower behind your ear while walking to the park in the heat. Sticky bubble gum under the desk while waiting for summer break to finally start. So obsessed! I need to find a lotion that smells like this so I can soak up this girly deliciousness! Best blind buy yet!

have quickly become very obsessed with this. it lasts all day and whenever i get a whiff of it, i instantly forget all my troubles. it is wonderfully nostalgic in that tween girl fruity-flavored lipglossy kinda way but it's more sophisticated than that. it's definitely for women and not for girls. it's for women who grew up during the era of limited too and like to cling to pieces of their youth; women who collect dolls and still rewatch the shows they grew up with, trying to copy the outfits of summer roberts or buffy summers now that they have the power to do so; women who, as girls, knew exactly who they wanted to be when they grew up and became ~her~

this is an absolutely beautiful fresh green vanilla gourmand. when I smell it it almost takes me back to being a tween during the summer, the sugary popsicles melting down your hands and citrusy sodas you'd have during a hot summer day at the beach, grass stains on your knees from playing and picking flowers all day in the hot sun. its summer in a bottle minus any of the coconutty sunscreen smells all too familiar and overdone in many summer perfumes. it's so bright and grassy at the beginning, but dries into a freshly and fruity gourmand that's not even slightly too heavy for warm weather. fell in love at first sniff and I need a full size !!

Probably the most perfect perfume to wear during your last summer as a teenager. There’s something very innocent and sweet that stems from the notes of ice cream and raspberry, but it’s immediately contrasted by just the perfect amount of muskiness from the tuberose. i didn’t really love this one at first, but after wearing it on multiple days that reached over 100° where i live, i can confidently say that this perfume is a solid summer scent. whenever i wear it i feel like i’m digging through my old trunk of dress up clothes and playing pretend for the last time before i move into adulthood. yummy !

Wow! First, this is strong. It smells like a raspberry cream soda and bubblegum-y tuberose. But it’s balanced out well by the creaminess. Delicious! Such a fun spring or summer scent! It’s not overly realistic, it’s very perfume-y and very sweet. It’s very playful. I think two sprays is enough, I can see how this could cause a headache if over sprayed. It’s very pretty and the reviews are spot on. Evocative and playful fragrance It’s very 2015 born to die era lana del rey. Coquettish, summery, like if a lollipop were a perfume. Coney Island vibes. Can’t wait to wear this in warm weather.

A wave of nostalgia for the family I never even had. Victorian houses with ivy crawling up the sides. Garden parties and wild strawberries dropped into champagne coupes. Impeccably dressed women who make you feel safe. Willful teen cousins in kitten heels lending you their oily pink gloss. The sun glinting off icy glass pitchers of lemonade. Grandmother's powdery Guerlain perfume lingering on the spot where she kissed you. Perfect cloudless days that cool off at dusk. A tinge of melancholy, like all great perfumes, in my opinion. Instant love for me.

Lovesick in the summertime: A grass and raspberry lime gelato-stained skort, treated (in vain) with two pumps of cheap hand-soap from the mall bathroom. You want to call him but your friends warn you it would seem desperate. Instead, they try distracting you by driving around town aimlessly, blasting music and gossiping. The streets feel empty because everyone's gone for the summer. You keep zoning out, wondering if it was just a summer hookup or perhaps something more... Fizzy, frivolous and melancholy.

Did not like the opening one bit. I tried to wipe it off my wrist and neck. But an hour later, I keep getting wafts of something sweet and divine. Oh yeah. I forgot I'd sprayed it on my other wrist too. I never gravitate towards effervescent fragrances, but I might have to make an exception here. Living for the cream soda note! Wish I hadn't tried to wipe it off, so the drydown could engulf me more. The opening has since grown on me, as I've worn it more.

I think the notes would have you believe this is just a giant explosion of sugar and gourmand scents. Not so on my skin! I've found this a really consistent smelling perfume over 3 to 6 hours on my skin, and along with the creamy (but subtle) raspberry and lime sherbet smell, it's quite herbal and grassy. It's really delicious. Think Chapman's Rainbow Sorbet dropped in the grass on a hot humid summer day. Also very comforting around the house at winter.

I love to wear this to the beach layered with holy hell, or to a bar patio layered with do son to bring out the tuberose. My favorite place to wear it is Coney Island. It's youthful and sticky and mixes well with a number of summer fun times scents (cigarettes, sunscreen, bomb pops, body glitter). A summer scent only for me. Not necessarily a crowd pleaser, though. I don't get grass from this at all but can smell all of the other notes.

it’s funny, i usually don’t enjoy fragrances with this fruity profile, but something about this invoked such an emotionally response i had to buy a bottle. smells like a childhood i never had but always dreamed of, being a young teen spending the summer laying in the grass, eating ice cream & having a crush. it feels like a coming of age film directed by sofia coppola. so fizzy & sparkly and also somehow creamy? it made me cry.

You’re drunk and listening to Born to die for the very first time . Venus in Tuberose is sooo gorgeous. A wise girl once said "sexy can't be cute, but cute can be sexy" and though the jury may be out on that one, I think applies here. It's girly and sweet but not at all cloying. It's not indolic whatsoever. It smells like a raspberries and cream lollipop with a grassy edge. Makes my mouth water. I just love it and I hope Courtney Rafuse never stops making it.

this makes me think of eating a lime freezer pop in the grass. at the same time, it’s a bit powdery which makes me think of my childhood dolls and bright pink sparkly bedroom. as time goes on it gets less grassy and more creamy while still smelling fruity. on my skin it’s not heavily floral at all, it’s just like flowers in the background rather than BOOM FLOWER. i love this so so much.

Bubble gum daydream. This is laying in your backyard by the pool after your dad cut the grass. There’s a popsicle dripping down your arm and you’re just close enough to the freshly budded flowers in your garden to taste them when you inhale. You reach out to feel the petals and you get a whiff of the raspberry popsicle still dripping down your arm. Sticky, sweet, green and fragrant.

Coquette aesthetic dreams. Poor little rich girl, wasting away at the Hamptons house, listening to Lana on a chaise in the grass. Perfect for Cancer season and an absolute niche masterpiece. Raspberry notes are having kind of a moment right now, but Courtney was obviously ahead of the curb. This and Marissa Zappas Annabel's Birthday Cake are my current summer obsessions.

When I was a preteen, my mother had a rollerball of DKNY Be Delicious and I stole it whenever I could. Over 20 years later my first wear of Venus in Tuberose instantly reminded me of it—slightly more weird girl vibes, a natural progression. I wore it with a thrifted Express zip cardigan from the early 00s (navy blue and green stripes) and it brought me right back.

Sparkling hibiscus raspberry soda with a twist of lime and a Diet Coke chaser. Outdoor table near the grass. Beads of condensation catching the sun on a clear plastic to-go cup. sticky, fizzy, and sweet. sipping soda while daydreaming about falling in love. sun warmed cheeks, fruity scented lip gloss, and watching cheesy romcoms. smelling this makes me crave a raspberry champagne float. love love love how this utilizes scents i associate with my childhood but presents it in such a way that never comes off as being childish.

Venus in Tuberose is a float made with raspberry sorbet, cream soda, and a squeeze of bright lime. It's lying in warm grass. Tanned legs with soft blonde leg hair. Glossy lips. Nostalgic, dreamy, youthful. A little fruity. It's quickly rising to the top of my summer fragrance lineup - a standout among my samples.

I am on my third sample bottle - she is a little pricy for me. But this is everything I look for in a perfume. The opening is bright and fresh and it settles into a sweet, intimate green vanilla. I feel CONFIDENT when I wear this. I will be buying the full bottle - just need to load up my piggy bank.

So incredibly nostalgic. It's hard to put into words, other than to say that it smells like youth. It's fruity and soapy and it smells like being outside. It's tart and a little floral. The cream soda and ice cream are fleeting. It's exceptionally well balanced, unique, and interesting.

Lana Del Rey Born To Die, cherry limeade from Sonic, summer vacation before senior year, sticky sweet hands from melted ice cream and sweat, laying in the grass wearing heart shaped sunglasses, strawberry lipgloss, the first kiss with your crush, sun drunk and touch starved.

I find this to be a deliciously fun fragrance to wear. The scent bubble is effervescent, creamy, juicy and earthy. To me this is extremely addictive and seductive. The lime pulp does pull like patchouli on me and I really enjoy that. The more I wear this, the more I love it.

I got a sweet, creamy sunscreen smell from this upon first spraying with a hint of tuberose underneath. after a couple hours the lime and grass appeared, manifesting as a grassy popsicle smell. smells like a childhood summer day, like being exhausted from a fun day outside.

This perfume is like the song The Purple Bottle by Animal Collective in smell form :’-) It’s very special! I’m always on the hunt for things that give me the brightest most sparkly juicy mushy heart-feeling and this is one of them!!! It smells like love!!

I am obsessed with this perfume but I'm reluctant to buy another bottle because I can't forget the grudge I hold against the creator for making fun of my sister's green corduroy pants in 2006 at the Pavilion in Halifax (I will buy another bottle).

hot summer nights, mid-july. gorgeous. incredible, really. like drinking a cream soda float in a dewy garden. there is a lovely sparkling, fluffy quality to this. it feels like it was made for beautiful cancerian girls.

Dreamy and intoxicating with incredible longevity. Cream soda and tuberose are the strongest notes, reminds me of the haze you're in after a long day in the sun but not an overly summer scent.

sooooo darling and sweet with the fizzy cream soda and raspberry opener but still grounded with that earthiness from the grass and the tuberose. will probably buy a full bottle soon :)

A scoop of rainbow sherbet from a plastic gallon bucket is dropped into an equally cheap feeling glass of Sprite. It splatters onto the vinyl of the restaurant booth that you and your little sister share. Maybe you are wearing matching puka shell necklaces, or maybe there are brightly colored beads tangled in your stringy and slightly damp hair. The air outside is warm and heavy. It's dark. There's a clap of thunder. The neon signs flicker. "it's five o'clock somewhere." The rain pours outside, and you can already feel it weighing down your billabong tank top. Your sister's face turns turquoise, then fuchsia, then an electric violet. Your mother's fingers shuffle towards the napkins. She looks bored. You all look bored. Maybe next year will be better. What a strange, compelling gourmand this is! There is an effervescence, yes, and I enjoy the almost candied lime/raspberry notes. Its bright. Its fun. Its a little tacky. Its like Florida. But there is something off-putting, almost liminal about this fragrance. The users who have noted its melancholic undertones are dead-on in my opinion. All of this makes for an incredibly intriguing scent. If I could only get past the cloying nature of the tuberose in the first hour or so of wear, then this would be my dream summer fragrance. Unfortunately, I am likely to get a headache from it, so full bottle is out of the question for me at this moment. Still, I recommend if you are into something a little summery, a little strange, and very sweet. (and, yes, if this was a song it would be Wayamaya by LDR for sure).

On first spray it is exuberant, fresh, whimsical. It's almost *too* much but thankfully it settles quite nicely. I used to think tuberose was the enemy, especially after my experiences with My Way, but now I know that's not the case. I pegged something tropical in here and I'm glad to see I was right! The hibiscus really gives it some good dimension. The lime and raspberry come together to make this incredibly nostalgic and very summery gelato scent. The only dislike I could have about this is how that cream soda note may be weighing it down ever so slightly, I had this same issue with Sorce's Where The Wild Things Grow V1. However this feels like a much better execution of that idea. The sour and sweet make this gorgeous, and to be honest, as this evolves on my skin, I may just take the plunge and say I love it! TLDR: You are 11 years old running through your front yard as the sprinklers go off. It's summer break, late afternoon and your mom has forced you to stop watching Nickelodeon for now. Your mouth is covered in the lime-berry gelato you and your sister foraged from the freezer. Your ears perk up at the sound of the ice cream truck coming down the road once again, and the anticipation of additional brain freeze.

Raspberry-lime sorbet and frothy cream soda, married by bubblegum-toned tuberose. It’s creamy yet tart, candied in a sweet-and-sour style. Acid green and hibiscus pink. The lime is not shy. (And such a treat!). There’s something cold about this otherwise tropical confection. Like coming in from the beach to a bracingly air-conditioned ice cream parlour. I generally shy from tuberose but this might be my favourite one to date – something about it echoes of the OG Juicy Couture parfum, only fresher and zestier. It packs enough of a sugar punch that I wouldn’t reach for this if I had a headache, but I’d never call it cloying. Unfortunately the drydown on my skin drifts a bit soapy, otherwise it’d be an auto-buy for the summer. Mental Snapshot: ‘90s airbrushed t-shirts and platform flip flops. First dates on the boardwalk. A key lime pie, flourished with birthday icing. The point where prom afterparty becomes sleepover. Midori sours and hibiscus punch. Miami Vice sunsets. Sabrina Carpenter prancing about a froyo shop. tl;dr: Barbie’s soda fountain 🌺🍧

super girly and chic. it is super lime forward which i did not like, but then you get the raspberry and cream soda notes and they help dwindle down the lime. i did not think i would like this as i'm not a fruity perfume girl, but on my skin it melts down very nicely, it warms up into just a delicious, sweet, creamy berry ice cream. out of the 12 i received this one is definitely my second runner up because it stands out just enough to me and it is super playful to wear. if i had the money to buy two full bottles from UF i would get this one! not sure about the sillage/longevity!

Pleasant perfume, evocative of the tidy girl you sit behind in class who writes her notes in pink cursive. Girlish in its raspberry, soda and ice cream notes, trailed by the mown grass of childhood, but there's something prophetic of middle age there too. It's the hibiscus or tuberose, I think, which smells here like the freshly washed hair of my Filipino mother. In this way, it feels like the bottled concentrate of someone's entire languishing, little life. It makes me depressed, but I like it anyway.

I was really excited by the notes, so I was kind of surprised when I smelled it in person!! It’s a very sharp scent out of the bottle, like a sweet floral mixed. I was hoping to pick up more of that raspberry creaminess that other reviews talked about. I do love the scent tho, it’s great for summer! But the projection sucks for the price point, I can’t really smell it on myself 10 min after I spray it and I don’t think anyone else can smell it either :/

fresh spray : overcast. expensive home goods store in pennsylvania. sweetness that casts nostalgia. there isn’t much complexity in the sweetness itself, but the introduction of earthiness and green make it more interesting. raspberry, lime, and hibiscus don’t come through as much, i wouldn’t call this fruity at all. a mellow nuanced gourmand. 12 hours post : vicks vapo rub permeating from a slightly unscrewed tub on the bedside table.

Does anyone remember those red fruity Spice Girls Chupa Chups Lollipops that came in all that plastic packaging with a bunch of stickers? I'm getting notes of all that. Then, VERY distinctly, I smell dried nail polish remover on a lotion infused tissue. The rest is rained on berries and cream, Mike and Ikes, and melon rinds. Reminds me of the wet powder rhubarb in Mugler Aura, but filtered through sweeter rose colored glasses.

universal flowering never fails to deliver on nostalgia and pink-around-the-edges imagery. venus in tuberose is red gingham in the glaring sun, the grass prickling your legs, your berry scented lip gloss melting, pulpy limeade long after the ice has melted. alternatively: rainbow sorbet melting in a little plastic bowl (the bowl is melting too). on the drydown it’s mostly berry lipgloss, but it’s kind of perfect.

it’s lovely, but not me. i feel hopelessly adolescent when i wear this, me as i was trying to become the girl i’d never be. the sweetness isn’t overpowering, pleasant without being overexcited. i recommend it, but am finding myself tickled by the clash of personalities happening. i’ll definitely finish my sample, but i doubt i’ll ever purchase this again.
