My Greek Lover

one hour in, and I am smelling perhaps the 4th or 5th dimension of this fragrance, so far. this was one in the perfume line I had some doubts about at first few tries. now with a full size later, I can tell you that this is a very precious gem of a fragrance, likely to get complimented, too. it has a very unique development in my opinion. of course the orange blossom floralcy is the bloodline of this fragrance composition but it weaves back and forth through many facets of tone. bright, citrusy, white-petaled, salty sea breeze, golden honeyed sunlight warming nearby ripe fruits in a cornucopia on a picnic table at the beach house. After an hour, now I smell the ethereal moments, the intangible things I seek to describe, yet can’t. But it UPLIFTS my heart and soul. It gives hope a buoyancy in my chest. It’s like bubblegum giddy essence. And ultimately dries down into a sheer skin-like neroli scent that I have a soft spot for. This is with one spritz on the outside of my perfume-eating dry wrists, and I am getting the exact dose of magical storytelling and complexity in its journey that it can provide. It’s a very faerie-like and feasting-by-the-seaside-mid-day perfume.

This is a complex scent with a very nice laid-back vibe. It feels like a lively celebration with old friends you’re really comfortable with, having good food and drink and plenty of laughter. Lemon and orange come through first with the tartness of green grape skins, followed by just a hint of soft eucalyptus hidden in there (the smell of eucalyptus trees on the breeze, not essential oil eucalyptus at all) As it dries down, smooth vanilla and honey, natural sweetness and white wine, progressing to deeper tones of musk and wood. After a while, the honey note really shines, accompanied by green pine and balsamic. Later the musk comes through, balanced by the evergreen notes. This definitely feels like a journey, continuously unfolding over several hours. I feel like it’s pretty unisex, though my husband feels it would be too floral for him to wear personally.

I really wanted to like this and I tried on a few occasions to appreciate it.. but I struggle a lot with this house and this one is no exception. I think I just don't like a lot of natural ingredients and perfume I just find they end up somewhat ... Unpleasant. My Greek lovers opens with a pretty sharp bright citrus which in my opinion is the best part of the fragrance.. given all the notes listed you think it was something complex and I suppose it is.. but what I get from my nose is a very soapy smell but not very clean it's a little bit dirty and I think that probably has to do with the animalic notes and his fragrance. It's like if someone tried to clean themselves off with a citrus flavored soap but didn't quite get all the odor .. I would love to appreciate how complex this is but when you combine that many notes together sometimes what you get is something that is reminiscent of a simple smell, and in this case it's soap and unwashed bodies.

This is an absolute stunning and smooth composition. I get the quince, lemon and grapes in the opening. The orange blossom is the nucleus of the whole fragrance with all the other notes of surrounding it. As it dries down, I get the cypress and other balsamic notes coming out to play. This is a very classy fragrance that would work as a signature fragrance for sure. Although it's unisex, I personally think it leans slightly feminine. The sillage and projection are amazing on this as well. When I wear this it feels as if I'm on a hillside in the Mediterranean. I can smell the cypress trees and lemons as I look down on the ocean and feel the beautiful sun shining on my skin! This fragrance definitely makes me feel relaxed!! I have always gotten a compliment with this fragrance as well. I feel that this is a great day-time fragrance that works best in spring and summer but can definitely be worn all year round.

At one point, I had this and Salish sea. This one smelled the best but I must say it isn'ta scent that wowed me. It was just OK. But I stand reminded that scents react differently on different people. I ended up gifting it to a friend. Later, I smelled him and was quite envious of the way it smelled on him. Sillage on him was great and I literally smelled him all day in a restaurant that meant he competed with food smells. A part of me wanted the scent back but it smelled better on him and in his single state, he needed help pulling the ladies. For me I won't rate this but when smelled on someone with thr chemistry to pull this off: 4.2 overall

Opening is just loud, dirty citrusfruits. Like, body odor dirty. Very unpleasant to my nose. Next, a lot of orangeblossom, but again, with that body odor edge. Ooof. Challenging. No fig, pine or cypress whats or ever. Still very interesting so maybe I should try it more.
