Sogno In Rosso

I was originally torn between Bianco Latte and Blanche Bête, but I ended up falling for Sogno in Rosso. What a masterpiece! It instantly shares that same milky, ultra-creamy DNA found in Blanche Bête, but with a much warmer and more textured feel. While Blanche Bête leans "cold" and musky, this Valentino creation brings true depth thanks to a spicy black pepper opening, followed by a smooth sandalwood milk heart and a highly sensual amber/bourbon vanilla base. This is modern haute parfumerie—chic, enveloping, and never cloying. A gorgeous signature scent with excellent longevity.

Blind bought 30ml bottle ....based on notes ( something I swore I would never do again after a few disaster's ) but glad to say it is sooooooo Blanche Bete in fact I can’t really detect anything else apart from the opening notes which go within 10 mins then dry down to BB.impersonator . I recently sold my Blanche Bete bottle as I found it gave me headaches as so overpowering . I found myself regretting my decision but this has replaced it in my collection and heart without the headaches !!! Much more affordable but same scent 🥰

This is Blanche Bete’s spicy sister, and I absolutely adore it. It opens with a bold mix of black pepper and milk, and the drydown transforms into a beautifully smooth, laconic vanilla and sandalwood. The bottle is stunning, and I’ve noticed the juice color deepening over time, which adds to its charm. I also own and love Blanche Bete—these two are not redundant at all, in my opinion, as they offer very distinct moods.

Edit: I have revisited my sample again and it does smalls like BB for the first 2 seconds than goes in a different direction. I got myself a sample of this gorgeous spicy perfume with lactonic note that fades away. Only one spray is needed for this perfume, beastest mode I have ever encountered from a luxury brand. Stayed on my clothing forever. Now if only there was some affordable dupe for it.

WOW. Blanche bete is my signature fragrance, so i knew i would love this as i am more fond of spicy warm scents usually. The juniper is very present with the black pepper at first whiff but it settles and warms and the lactonics seep through. A gorgeous scent. Blanche bete is lighter and more airy but this is for an evening out!

Sogno is a deep sexy & milky balanced with the pepper, olibanum and sandalwood. this blend of spicy and laconic notes is comforting and warming scent profile. the dry down is beautifully smooth milky vanilla. Masterfully blended by a renowned perfumer.

This is a stronger, more in your face BB. But not that similar let's say similar vibes. I have both and I like this much more. The compliments I got when wore this perfume is insane! But on my skin performs so so good! Total love and projects too !

This is hands down one of the best perfumes i have ever smelled, is feminine, sexy, sophisticated, smells like you have money, lol, the opening might have you doubt for a few minutes. But when it settles is just out of this world

This is what I wanted and craved out of Blanche bete but never got, it’s just a spicy and punchy version of it and it is perfect. Pepper in milk! So happy I got it and I am in love!

This does not remind me of blanche bete, but it’s sexy. Simply confident and pretty einen repellent in my opinion ;)

WOW I 100% get why people compare this to Blanche Bête. However this feels like a more powdery, aromatic cousin. Italian milk foam, Valentino lists, and I really have to agree: it manages, remarkably, both creamy and dry at the same time. From afar it’s milky and floral and soft, but stick your nose up to the epicentre and it gets much woodier and pepperier albeit aerated still. The juniper is very there, more than you might expect given the BB comparison. It blends well too, giving the scent this cool sharpness that keeps the lactonic notes from feeling too soft or dreamy. So even though it’s silky and feminine, I also get why some people call it masculine. It has a smooth, firm backbone to it. And it is the texture that makes it interesting. The olibanum and sandalwood roughen up the creaminess just enough that it doesn’t feel silky-liquidy all the way through. It feels more like milk powder on stone, or something soft dusted over something dry and mineral. It has quite a deliberate appeal. A confident vibe. A good cold weather scent, one honestly seductive, but not in the sultry-sweet way BB flirts. My issue though is that in warm weather it gets a bit grating. The salty ambergris x ambroxan thing starts pushing through more, and then it takes on this slightly sandy, beachy smell that feels more astringent than sexy. If that warm salty skin scent is what you want, then great. But, IMO, on me it gets a bit much. TLDR this is a warmer, sharper, more chalky wood-heavy Blanche Bête. I’d love smelling it on someone else, but wearing it myself all day might be a little tiring for the nose.

This is nice...lactonic, creamy, lightly peppery and very warm. In the air it smells like an aerated yet dense warm milk powder with fall/winter heft. Also, it’s on brand for Valentino (serious and full). While it hits those marks well, I personally get most excited by a casual luxe style and broader seasonal wearability. I like this most after it dries down as it’s potent, so will personally spray a little less at first. The popular Blanche Bette wasn’t for me at the time I smelled it. Sogno however fits my need for a milk scent, and I only need one of this genre. Milk scents have a certain delicious comfort for the right moment. The perfumer for Sogno is also behind L’Eau Papier and Lunamaris. His signature is present in each. If you smell them side by side, you can sense they were created by the same nose. That’s a compliment, as the construction is masterful. They all feel wearable together, and you can easily brighten Sogno with the aforementioned two—I’d go for 1 part Sogno to 2 parts of one of the others. The opening of this reminded me the kind of sterile smell of a hospital or a clinic. The more I thought of that, I realized what I was being reminded of was more specifically the smell of Hydrogen Peroxide reaction + medicinal products. Its spicy for sure, but in a clean and cooling way. I'm going to give it a chance... Update: I think it really benefits from warmer weather, as the scent develops more and it's less "cool" or sterile to me. The top note of the juniper and pepper is sharp, but dissipates within the 1st hour. The dry down is a sweet, milky vanilla. Not super complex but pleasant enough. I'm glad I gave this a chance with further testing & wear, but it is quite expensive.

J'ai reçu une bouteille en cadeau ce Noël, c'est beau bijoux, une belle pièce à avoir dans sa collection. L'ouverture est très poivrée, assez surprenante. Puis le poivre laisse place à un lait à la cannelle que l'on pourrait boire en hiver pour se réchauffer. La vanille est également tres présente dans ce parfum. C'est une odeur très évocatrice, voire très sexy, il ne peut pas se porter à toute les occasions selon moi. Aussi, il embaume la pièce ou il a été mis, il sait se faire remarquer. J'avoue qu'il ne me va pas totalement, je suis contente de l'avoir mais il ne me correspond pas, je le vois mieux sur une femme de plus de 35 ans pendant un diner dans un bon restaurant.

This is nice & seemed to be the best of this collection when trying them out — super Christmasy, creamy & spicy, & quite feminine to me. I personally wouldn’t wear it but could imagine some people really loving this.

Leans more feminine. On paper - Gourmand but not sweet, lactonic, rich, ambery, warm, luxurious, smooth, woody, powdery. On me - more leathery milky, ambery on me, similar to commodity milk +

It’s a like for me not a love but I also don’t hate it One of the 4 I liked from the collection.

I had heard so much about this fragrance and was always wanting to try it. Finally discovered it at duty free at the airport. WOW I hate this perfume. It smelt absolutely nothing like the influencers that were hyping this described. I agree with the comments this is more masculine. Spicy, not creamy, loud and sour. Yuck

I was really curious about this one and even almost blind bought it but for the price I figured it was better to try a sample first which it proved to be a very good idea in the end. This juice is STRONG. It only took one spray and the first blast smells so sharp it made my nose burn. I’m guessing the juniper and pepper make a rather astringent combination. After a couple minutes a pungent milkiness takes place and it gets a little better, I can start to see the sexy side of this juice coming out. Towards the dry down the vanilla gets more prominent softening up the whole thing but you still have that hint of juniper and milk that makes the whole composition more complex. I thought it was very different and unisex, glad I tried it but not my cup of tea. I can only see this working in the winter bc any other season you may choke yourself and others around you with this fragrance.

She smells like Blanche Bete - tone down the florals a bit, add a little more milkiness, dial up the vanilla. This is another one that just makes me think ‘pretty/clean girl scent.’ This isn’t my preferred profile but she’s pretty. The florals start off stronger in initial but when it dries down they fade into the background and the milk comes to the forefront. It’s like a powdery milk rather than a milky milk if that even makes sense 😆 I picture a girl in a white sun dress eating an ice cream cone in the middle of a field of white flowers. She cute. If you like Blanche, you will definitely like this. This isn’t a keeper for me personally but I do like it. Nothing groundbreaking though and not worth the price tag imho.

Might be an unpopular opinion but i like this more than Blanche bete. While i do agree they are similar i think Sogno is more up my alley, it’s deeper sexier & the milk is more balanced with the pepper, olibanum and sandalwood. Blanche bete (on my skin at least) sometimes pulls like “baby breath” if that makes any sense. Florals are the main star & sometimes it smells like i’m drowning in milk which annoys me. I still like blanche bete even though it is sometimes fickle on my skin but sogno takes it to a new level. I’d suggest testing both out on skin if you’re torn. P.S - i saw someone on TikTok @katesbeautystation say layer Sogno in Rosso with Rouge smoking - it’s sooo good if you have both give it a try.

A rough draft of Blanche Bete. I love BB, one of my most complimented scents that I’ve put quite the dent in (half the bottle) and I can definitely see the comparisons but Sogno is rough around the edges, not smooth or natural at all. This is harsh to my nose. Lots of pink pepper, especially in the opening and ambroxan to the max. I get the juniper as well, very strongly actually which gives it a holiday/candle like vibe to me that I didn’t care for. Sogno is muted and not as sweet nor as comforting as BB. As a Blanche Bete lover I disliked Sogno but if you’re looking for a more lactonic, spicy, non sweet, I’d say even a bit masculine leaning, holiday version of BB then check this one out.

I have to agree with other reviews; This smells like a more "Industrial", androgenous version of Blanche Bête. Altough initially, upon first spray- I did not get any of the lactonicness I got from Blanche Bête. Sogno in Rosso is spicy, sort of smells like a stone cave, carrying an empty, eerie feeling- then settles into something softer, more reminiscent of Blanche Bête. Personally; I get no sweetness from this. What I get most from this fragrance is the pepper and the green notes that slowly fade into a cool vanilla. Definitely unique and not blindbuy friendly (altough alluring). Still, it is well blended with lots of power behind it.

beautiful. although so many people are describing it as masculine, i would say its my idea of feminine perfume. its comforting, fluffy and floral while also having some earthy elements that keep it grounding and dependable. so it is a 'perfumey' kind of scent. which i personally love as someone who gets lost in the niches and forgets how a traditional perfumey scent makes me feel: celebratory of my femininity and my olfactory senses. the only thing i would recommend, is be careful to overspray as it can be a little more potent which takes away from its delicacy. it wears nicely closer to the skin.

Blanche Bete is my signature fragrance so I was curious to try this. Before I sprayed this I gave it a sniff out of the bottle and it smelled like cat pee so I was confused. Wow it’s STRONG. I get the comparisons to BB but this is a lot of pepper and green which makes it a bit more masculine in my opinion. Upon first spray it really smells like BB mixed with leau papier from Diptique and then settles to the masculine earthy BB that feels like it has been mixed with men’s cologne. It doesn’t have the ethereal vibe of BB that I love so much.

on first impression: has a similar synthetic milky resonance as italica (xerjoff) and feels like i put on the skin of a fabulous rich older 39-year-old european woman who smokes cigarettes and wears gloves and scarlet furs if i think about it too much it starts smelling like one of those black scentables markers the unconventional combination seems like a scent that you would notice on a person but may not particularly enjoy: dislike decreasing as you move closer to 100 years old

The opening is a blast of spices and it is sweet. As the perfume settles, the milk/cappuccino foam accord appears. The dry down is vanilla, softer spices and milky woods. It is a warming and spicy fragrance with a milky undertone. It's like a sweet and spicy cup of foamed up warm milk: I find it delightful and very comforting. Ideal for colder weather. The bottle and red liquid are stunning and I love the name reference to the famous "rosso Valentino" ❤️

A more masculine cousin to Blanche Bête for sure; less dreamy, more assertive. The opening blast is totally unapologetic, smacking you with a bold hit of spice before easing off just enough to draw you in closer. It slows its stride, then draws you into its silk-lined lair that feels deliberate and confident in a quiet way. Sexy. Where the milky facets of BB tease and flirt, this one skips the coyness and simply tells you exactly where to stand.

I like the bottle, but I have to say I prefer Blanche Bete, as it’s also this synthetic ambroxan style however it leans a bit more floral tuberose and creamy, this one might be even more aroma chemical, salty smelling. Almost like unfinished Blanche Bete, with just the chemicals and no tuberose note added yet lol. Not bad but I don’t love this style these days.

The opening of the scent has a lot of black pepper, then the white flowers kick in with tons of sweet slightly harsh amber notes, probably ambroxan. I agree with the comparison's to Blanche Bete but BB smells way more natural and smoother than Sogno in Rosso.

I am a Blanche bete lover! This is very much in the same family . It has a hint of freshness / medicinal / green with the juniper . The only thing is I have Blanche and it’s a little sweeter & I love my sweet scents. The longevity on me was maybe 6 hours ?

It's a sandalwood and lactonic combination, with a sweet orange blossom presence. It's lactonic, but the orange blossom in the body makes it a rather generic sweet white floral. The scent itself is fine. Don't expect lactonic vibe here too much.

I’m getting more Rouge Malachite from this, not Blanche bete. Something in this is headache inducing for me. Unfortunately it’s a pass.

The dry down is like 80% Blanche bete?! I couldn’t believe it when I smelt the strip after 2 hrs in my purse.
