Valentino Donna Born In Roma Coral Fantasy

BEAUTIFUL fruity scent! Very sweet, lowkey tropical (very lowkey imho) but without being too cloying, making it perfect for summer. Despite its sweetness it's also super fresh, giving a bit of "shampoo scent" vibes. Personally I can't really pick its notes apart, I think this perfume is more of a delicious pink cloud that lingers around you when sprayed; this might be because I lack the experience to discern notes, but I believe that even if my skills were a bit better this perfume would still have a very rounded profile, without any single note being too prominent/loud. Despite its sweetness, I find it to be feminine but more in a "young woman" way compared to other scents that people usually perceive as scents that high-schoolers might like (I do not agree with ageism in perfumery, but strictly speaking in terms of marketing or general social perception I think Coral Fantasy fits this description). I think it has an amazing performance as I've been able to smell it on myself after 24hours, however it does not have a strong projection. I think people might need to be even closer than arms length to properly perceive it on you. Personally I do not mind this, as I've found that when I move my arms around I can get a faint whiff and enjoy its scent without having to directly smell my skin. I smelled all DBIR flankers at the store and I just couldn't stop thinking about this one! Green Extravaganza and Yellow Dream are also amazing choices, but there was something so so so special about Coral Fantasy that I just had to get it as my birthday present. This was also my dad's favorite when helping me choose lol. I do not think I've ever smelled a perfume in store and felt as much love as I did with this one, literally love at first sniff. Coral Fantasy forever!!!!

One of my all-time favorites. Works excellent during hot humid summers, and is balanced enough to work indoors as well (just use 1 spray only though for indoors). There's enough balance where it's just barely sweet enough, then the tartness and base kicks in. The cedar as a base is simple, but still absolute genius. I don't smell kiwi much, but rather a top layer of orange with a generic "citrus" undertone. There's a strong black pepper note on the base that I can't be ignored, but supports the entire citrus fragrance throughout almost the entire day (8 hours). The woods and black pepper base are not overpowering, so it won't lean into the masculine territory. Rose or jasmine are florals that have always worked excellently on my skin, and it stays feminine enough without it being too "old lady" like (think 1980s Chanel.... yeah). It helps the orange calm down a tiny bit after 2 hours. Don't let the "simplicity" fool you, this is an incredible fragrance that works for adult women of almost all ages (20s-60s). I can also see this being used in the Fall too because of the peppery and woodsy base. It could work for mild winters too, if sprayed on clothes. Not very many orange fragrances last that long where I live, but this one lasts all day and will definitely be a keeper for almost year round use, whether indoors or outdoors. If you use it outdoors, you might want to do 2 sprays instead of just 1.

I don’t like assigning seasons to scents, but realistically most people will probably prefer Coral Fantasy in the spring and summer. Personally, I enjoy it all year round and find it very versatile. Do not assume that you’ll like this if you like the OG, they’re not even in the same family. Personally I like the original, but not enough to buy a whole bottle. It smells like a bunch of other perfumes I have...mixed together. I can’t explain it, but it’s much more boozy and spicy than this. Also I get berries from the original, while this one is citrus/kiwi dominant. The only thing this has in common with the OG is that whole “smells like a mix of everything else” quality in the opening, however it’s the kiwi that starts to set it apart after about 30 minutes. The citrus, rose, kiwi, and musk just smell so good together. I don’t think it smells like anything in the “reminds me of” section. I don’t really care for D&G L’Imperitrace, I find it to be much more fleeting and uninteresting than this, and it has a sour note that I can’t put my finger on, maybe the rhubarb. This has much better staying power, it’s more interesting, and it’s really well blended. It’s very easy to wear and I think if you like any of the musky citrus florals like Bright Crystal, you’ll probably enjoy this...just keep in mind that the kiwi is quite distinct, but it’s also what sets it apart and makes it more unique.

I LOVE THIS PERFUME!!!!!! My favourite fragrance of all time. It’s so clean, fresh, fun, fruity and addictive. I literally cannot stop smelling myself when I’m wearing Coral Fantasy. Although I'm more into gourmands now, this still stands as one of the best fragrances I’ve ever had despite being a fruity floral. It’s girly but not immature. It’s fun and it's giving fun beachy girl at a Tiki Bar. Many people say it’s a spring/summer fragrance but I wear it all year round because I just love it that much. Something about wearing it in the winter really bring something else out of this fragrance which makes it more appealing to me in colder months. Everything is perfectly balanced and blended in this fragrance which is hard to come by in many perfumes. From the first spray all the way to when it's time to respray, Coral Fantasy does NOT disappoint. This is a MUST HAVE and a SAFE blind buy! I find the other Donna Born in Roma perfumes to be quite screechy but this is not screechy at all. There is a bit of creaminess and softness to this that I really appreciate and keeps me coming back for more. Hats off to Valentino. They seriously nailed it with Coral Fantasy.

Out of the two Ulta fragrance sample sets I purchased back in February as I began my fragrance journey, about 40 samples in total: this is the only one that I fell in love with instantly. Others grew on me, some never really spoke to me, but this one... love at first sniff. I would recommend this to anyone. The tropical, juicy opening is mouthwatering, and the way it settles into the jasmine notes so smoothly just makes me *swoon*. The musky notes in this, the whispers of rose, it all combines flawlessly to make the most beautiful fruity-floral designer perfume I've had the pleasure of trying, so far. Something about this is just perfection to me. It's got something to it that sets it apart from all the other designer fragrances that all start to blur and smell the same after a while. This one never stopped standing out. Maybe I'm just way too into shampoo-y, fruity, jasmine-forward fragrances. Maybe this is just a really basic crowd pleaser and it's not surprising I find it so pleasant. Whatever it is, I'm in love.

I tried this many times in the store, waiting for a different outcome until...it finally happened! On the paper strip I thought it was okay but not worth my money, one day I decided to try it on my skin and shirt and gosh I fell in love with this scent. I don't have anything similar in my collection but if you do it's not a unique scent. It's for those uncomplicated days when you just want to smell fresh and good. Juicy orange and kiwi, super fresh. This last for about 2 hours and than it gets muskier and floral. It is a little bit shampoo like on the initial spray but much less than for example Coach perfumes are to my nose. It dries down to a musky clean comforting scent, it's laundry like. I live in warm climate so I can get a lot of use out of citrusy and fruity perfumes so I wouldn't recommend it to someone that has long winter. For me it's a win! I got it on a sale (55 euro for 50 ml), I would not pay full price for it.

The tropical note of the kiwi and the fruitiness of the orange is so good. It's a gorgeous, airy scent. It has a bit of a clean, green essence to it. And I did notice the floral was more on the soft powdery side which I don't normally like, but this one did it beautifully. It's not overly cloying or anything. Initially on first application this is so strong, but on the dry down after maybe 10 or 15 minutes it gets much more intimate, which is my preference. However, after only wearing this perfume for like 3 or 4 hours it practically faded away by that time. So while it smells good it doesn't last that long. And since i'm sensitive to scents that trigger migraines, I haven't tested it long enough to definitively give an answer to that one. But I will edit my review once I give it multiple tries to see if it induces headaches for those that need to know for their own health.

I lived in this during the summer this year. The notes and fragrance family isn’t one I usually go for but after getting a sample of this, I found the scent to be so unexpectedly enjoyable. It’s juicy, fresh, aquatic and floral. Some people say that this smells juvenile- I don’t agree, I think it’s just directed towards a younger crowd for sure, but even so, it’s a very inoffensive scent (and a compliment magnet honestly). This lasts a good while on me as well, literally days on clothes and maybe 8-10 hours on skin. I wore a hijab that I sprayed this on the day before to do a quick run to the shop and a lady followed me out to ask what I was wearing! To be honest, I don’t like the DBIR line very much asides this and green stravaganza. While the originals get the hype, this one is an underrated gem I swear. It’s so pretty! Scent: 8.5 Longevity: 9 Sillage: 6

It’s my guilty pleasure. I’ve been collecting fragrances and I didn’t want to purchase this fragrance but every time I went into the drugstore I had to put some of this on my skin. It’s quite simple and generic but somehow I fell in love with this. It’s smells juvenile and youthful and it reminds me some of the Escada perfumes. The first few minutes after spraying this on my skin, smells like a juicy kiwi and orange smoothie, after a while it turns into sweet flowers. It’s fresh, sweet and intoxicating. Every time I wore this I’ve gotten compliments. I can’t wait to wear this in warmer weather. Also, on my skin it’s quite long lasting, but it’s a matter of skin chemistry. I like this so much more than the original Born In Roma, and I also own the intense version(this one is my winter signature), but I like this flanker more.

Love at first sniff!! My sister in law had this and the smell was perfection: classy, feminine, sexy, sweet and sophisticated. Smells expensive. I had to buy the travel size just to test it out on my body chemistry before buying a full 100 mL bottle. Just finished up the travel size and ordered the full bottle! So excited. Bottle packaging is perfection, cant wait to showcase it in my collection. It is a very juicy scent with fruity notes but has a nice bite as well which makes it sexy and enchanting. It lasts very well on fabric / clothes. Only a few hrs on skin though. OK sillage. I am a huge spring/summer scent person and plan to make this my go-to fragrance. Classy, fruity, fresh, sexy and juicy. Cons: It has no resemblance to the OG Born in Roma (which for me is great because the original was a bit too heavy / cloying)

In my opinion, BIR Coral Fantasy smells extremely similar (like 95%) to Skylar Capri Summer on the dry down. Nest Seville Orange perfume oil is wonderful too but doesn't have longevity. I would say Coral Fantasy and Capri Summer have similar longevity of about 4-6 hours going strong with a nice scent bubble that I smell on myself. Capri Summer is slightly less sweet than Coral Fantasy. I saw another person's comment on Seville Orange smelling similar to Frenshe Citrus Amber. I'll get my nose on that one soon. It'd be great to find a sweet, fresh citrus with longevity and low price point. I have a full size bottle of Coral Fantasy, a full size backup bottle, plus a travel size spray. I also have a full size bottle of Capri Summer + a backup. But I could never have too many juicy citrus florals , as far as I'm concerned

Since I first smelled this perfume back in May of 2023, I’ve been IN LOVE. It’s been my favorite since then. I got it as a sample from Sephora (back when they used to actually give samples..) and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I decided to splurge and actually buy the full bottle and I couldn’t be happier. It has an amazing fresh and fruity kiwi and orange smell, but it dries down to smell a little muskier in a sort of way which smells amazing. I do find that it dosent last TOO long, which is a bit disappointing for the price, but I get so many compliments it’s very worth it. The bottle is gorgeous too, but don’t let it fool you, the full size of this fragrance has a LOT of liquid which is undermined by the illusion of a thick bottle. Overall very beautiful and sexy summer fragrance, my GOAT.

A fruity bomb! I own the original Donna Born In Roma but smelled Coral Fantasy on my cousin. I knew it was a Valentino DBIR but I didn't know whether she had layered something together, you know how the girlies are doing these days. But nope. She told me it was Coral Fantasy. To me, Coral Fantasy smells like juicy fruit gum. Everyone's body chemistry wears fragrance differently. Coral Fantasy is a winner for me. I don't mix her with a heavily scented lotion, unscented eos lotion is perfect. My goal is to apply Coral Fantasy on a moisturized body which gives the fragrance something to cling to. I go "nose blind" to the fragrance after an hour or two but I still get compliments at the end of the day which signals to me that it's long lasting.

UPDATE: Afer months of wearing ... It is light, breezy but also mysterious with that unexpected and playful little kiwi note. It leans slightly tropical and does have a clean shampoo aspect to it which I adore. While Jasmine is listed as the white floral, I still pick up more of a Jasmine Tea vibe which fades over time into a very delicate and slightly sweet rose scent. BONUS: I really enjoyed wearing this all summer. However. To my surprise I have been reaching for it this winter - with two sprays a day on my sweater lasting hours. I receive compliments every single time from both men and women while out and about with this one. I see a lot of people saying it is generic. I think it is just easy to love.

This one surprised me, I'm not a huge fan of fruity scents, I own some but don't reach for them often. The kiwi in the opening is quite realistic, I love it, I don't get much rose, I get the jasmine, it's soft and not overbearing, musk is subtle, it's a lovely fresh/ light fragrance with a touch of sweetness. will be perfect in the summer and spring times, even though I wear all my perfumes all year round. It's not as long lasting as I would like, for the price it sells at is a bit disappointing, but a lovely addition to my collection . I must say though, I do prefer the coral fantasy slightly more than the donna intense, which is why I'm so surprised, as the intense is usually more my style.

My first love... the one that started it all. Coral Fantasy is a perfect summer fragrance. It brings me plenty of compliments and the “what fragrance are you wearing?” question. It easily lasts and projects all day with 10+ sprays. A bright fruity/citrus fragrance with the perfect blend of florals and woods. The rose is not detectable for me in any sense here. One comparison I’ve found throughout my fragrance journey is with LV Afternoon Swim; same exact orange notes, just a different background that it’s laying on. This one will always belong in my collection, and I’ve acquired some pretty expensive fragrances that sit on my shelves. Layer idea: stellar times DNA + coral fantasy 🤭

This fragrance is absolutely delightful. It opens with a burst of freshness from kiwi and orange, followed by the gradual emergence of rose and jasmine. The scent then settles beautifully with prominent notes of cedar, ambrette, and rose in its grand finale. Although my skin usually doesn't react well to rose notes, this perfume is so well-balanced that it works perfectly for me. It's the ideal choice for those who love fruity-floral scents—super fresh, yet sophisticated and classy. This fragrance is definitely a hit for me. It brings back memories of my signature scent, Jean Paul Gauthier's Madame, which I cherished for years before it was discontinued.

I got it as a gift (I love the dbir line), but I have not smelled this one before. Now I see that I'm not alone in smelling (a quite photorealistic) honeydew melon opening in this! that was my initial impression too. it's juicy, fruity, sweet and playful - so it reminded me of things I picked up when I was in highschool - only this time, it's a more grown up version. it is different than the rest of the dbir flankers, but still worth a try. I would say it's generic enough to be a safe blind buy. I can't wait for summer to experience the full effect, although I'm already experimenting with this to bring me some cheer into the dark and cold weather.

I didn't think I would like this. I sprayed it on the tester strips at Sephora on a couple visits and it never really grabbed me. However, on my last trip, I sprayed it on my arm instead. And I fell in love with it. They dry down is so fruity--like melons and kiwis--and it's just so pleasant and sweet. It's sort of like a yummy shampoo scent. I really like it for days when I just want to smell sweet and I don't feel like making a bold statement. It's perfect for spring and summer, but I find myself enjoying it this winter, as well. I get good longevity from it -- around 6 hours. I love the OG DBIR and I don't think these are very similar.

First off - these studded bottles are gorgeous. Beautiful addition to a perfume collection. Of all the DBIR flankers, I like Coral Fantasy the most. For me, she is solely a summer scent. Very juicy. I get a blast of grape juice / fruit punch on my skin. Very fruity, refreshing. Tropical. Clean girl vibes: shampoo-y, fresh out of the shower. I do not get great longevity out of her unfortunately. I find that to be the case with most soapy/fruity fragrances on my skin. Very easy crowd pleasing scent and overall a great buy. Would make an easy present for someone who loves fruity frags. That bottle alone is such a statement piece!
