Valentino Donna Born In Roma Intense

This has replaced the original Born in Roma as my number one top favorite scent of all time!!! I'm not surprised because it is everything I love about the original on first spray (black currant, bergamot, jasmine, bourbon vanilla) but then it's amped up in a way and introduces some new scent notes that really take it to the next level. I do think this one still has that spicy-ness the original had but even more so, which is funny because there's no longer a pink pepper note, (could be the bourbon, amber and benzoin mix??) and that to me has always added to the uniqueness of this deep sweet sexy mysterious fragrance. As this dries down on my skin it gets super sweet, the vanilla they amped up is DEFINITELY amped up, and the mix of the benzoin resin and ambery warmth together make for this INTENSE sweetness. I love it sooo much because I am a sweet lover. I do not get coconut, but it does remind me of the vanilla from the nest madagascar vanilla fragrance oil (which also has coconut 😅, but I'm speaking more on the sweet woody vanilla in that oil, which dries down also to a sweetened vanilla on me) The black currant somehow disappears on dry down and I'm left with the amber, vanilla, and benzoin. It's a deep sweetness that is so intoxicating I could wear it forever 🥰 There is nothing they could have done to make this scent more perfect. Sillage and longevity is moderate/heavy IF YOU SPRAY A TON like I do. I want everyone to be able to enjoy this amazingly sweet, super sexy modern fragrance. It's a for lifer for me, and most definitely my signature scent (the scent I am known by/for) even though I don't wear it everyday because I have a massive amount of fragrances. Just like it's counterpart which I was wearing no matter the time of year, time of day, season, clothing, event, this is a year rounder for me because again I love it and think its suitable for everything for me. I can dress this up or down, its casual, it's enticing for date night, it's professional for work, it's stunning for a special occasion, it's wowing for a first time meet up. It's EVERYTHING!!! BTW This with the Nest madagascar vanilla oil is 👩🏾🍳💋

By far one of the most exciting (to me) releases for 2023. When I saw this was coming I got SO pumped. I was a bit shell shocked at the $160+ price tag for the larger bottle however thankfully the website had the smaller sizes for offering. They however did not when I went to buy have the 1oz in stock. So I got the 1.7 oz and a free travel spray. Donna Born In Roma is one of my faves - in 21/22 it was a staple. I tore through a 1.7 oz bottle and a 15ml travel spray. I now have a 3.4oz bottle. It’s that good. It’s a staple of a jasmine vanilla and cashmere scent for me. The most intoxicating smell and wears beautifully on my skin. However the longevity on DBIR never was amazing. Now we have Donna INTENSE. THIS 😳🔥😮💨 this lit me up. The first spray is a STRONG blast of vanilla and spice. The donna dna is there however it’s grown up. It’s spicy. It’s rich and rummy. The vanilla flavor is amped. The benzoin and jasmine mix and make an almost tropical spicy mango vibe. DBIR Intense is a very bold spicy combo giving you just enough donna and enough new notes to be unique. This instantly reminded me of Mugler - Alien Goddess INTENSE. Both have that amber vanilla spice. There is also very similar vibes to the new FAME by Paco Rabanne and VERY similar fruity spicy vibes of JPG - La Belle and La Belle Le Parfum. The notes don’t say there is any coconut or tropical notes however I get a coconut almost. A bit of a topical mango. Vanilla. Benzoin and jasmine. This is absolutely a beast mode scent. I over sprayed and damn near died. This will choke you OUT. Silage is massive. Wearability - skin 7/10 soft spicy vanilla. Clothing 10/10 clings like a dryer sheet to a pair of velvet pants. A little goes a LONG way here. Unlike DBIR where you have to overspray (however it smells SO good you don’t mind it!) the over spray here is a bit hurtful. Like. Make you wanna cry 😢 however it’s very pleasant and crowd pleasing. I’d say if you’re a donna LOVER and even an Alien Goddess fan then you need DBIR INTENSE if for anything the longevity. The donna DNA is there just so much more power! I’d give a SOLID 8/10!

I love this a lot ... but this isn't creamy vanilla. Because of whipped pleasure I'm falling in love with caramel/vanilla and jasmin combo but this isnt that and the notes dont list a sour cherry note But I either smell sour cherry and black currant or red currant or something like that. Maybe cranberry. It is very obvious that there are red berries all throughout the perfume journey but sometimes it's the combination of certain notes that creates the feel of a third note.. I dont see how this combination though can produce a sour cherry or red currant note .. It has an element of what's in Midnight fantasy by britney spears but less blueish more reddish. As if u amped up the sour cherry and raspberry instead of the plum note Anyways this then becomes jasmin-ey spiced deep red berry with a lot of vanilla but more jasmin than vanilla. I love it.. it is unique to me.. very feminine sexy. less sweet but also less vanilla-ey than the original born in roma. Og born in roma becomes a bit too sweet and spicy to me after smelling it constantly for an hour. But I still like original Smells kinda like wine in the opening then like vanilla biscuits.. This smells like cherry liqueur all throughout the olfactory journey . I would wear this for a night out.. The jasmin is not indolic Because the deep boozy red berries are what I smell the most..

I got a bottle of the intense on eBay and i thought i got a fake. I analyzed the bottle and the box so much and watched videos about fakes because it was so light that i couldn’t believe it was “intense”... and i realize it’s just very different from the original. It’s not as soapy perfumy clean and floral. It has the same sweetness and vanilla but virtually no floral or citrus and it just smells like a beachy summery scent. The bottle looking darker is misleading i would have made the bottle a tropical color maybe an ombré fading from turquoise blue to a coral and beige to look like the sea sand and sky so that it’s indicative of a summer beach scent because the tie exactly what it is. With that said after sampling extradose i immediately ordered a full size bottle but its on back order and i may not get it for 2-4 weeks and im on pins and needles because it is absolutely delicious! Like a stronger version of intense but not as much beach vibe even though it is still super sweet. It’s almost a gourmand version. I don’t get a whole lot of booziness but it is just sooo scrumptious. Heavy. THIS is what the intense should have been. The intense should have been marketed as a summer scent.

It’s the Valentino that says: “I’m here to have fun, not to behave.” If you want elegance, wear Donna. If you want darkness, wear Noir Absolu. This is MY SCENT!!! Oh my gosh, I love it so much. I get a rich vanilla that is spiced up with the benzoin, jasmine, and amber. A absolutely perfect mixture and a perfect fragrance. The vanilla is heavy in this, for me. I blind-bought this in November 2024 after loving another perfume in the Valentino Donna Born in Roma line. I got really lucky with this blind buy. I wear this multiple times per week, but have to alternate fragrances every day, otherwise I go nose blind. I’ve been on a very expensive hunt for a fragrance that I like more than this one, and nothing comes close for me. I find it completely different than the other fragrances in the line. I get many compliments on this one and even had a lady practically motor-boat me while she was smelling my shirt 🤣 I’ve been told it smells like coconut, but I don’t get that note personally. I’m surprised to see so many people not impressed with it in the reviews here. I would say it’s absolutely a safe blind-buy, but it seems others would disagree. It’s now Feb 2025 and my 3.4oz bottle is 3/4 of the way gone. I use this so much but also am a heavy sprayer. I’d say go for it!!!

Sexy, addictive yet feminine and gentle. Fit for every occasion if you have the attitude to wear it and if you can handle attention. This gets you compliments from women and makes men lust over you. If you can handle that, go ahead, buy this fragrance. What made me buy it is the incense note which is hiding among the sultry jasmine and the powdery vanilla. It gives this scent depth and a misterious aura which lingers around the wearer. I've been searching for a signature scent for so long since I'm easily bored by a fragrance and none checked all my boxes, but Donna Born in Roma Intense sure did. I still can't take my nose off this bottle since the smell is so addictive. I've worn it to the office, for coffee, dinner with friends and on dates with my hubby, it is perfect for every occasion, every weather and every temperature as long as you are not afraid of your femininity. I finally found my self in a signature fragrance. Valentino and the perfumers behind this creation, I salute you, cheers to you creating this perfection! 🥂🩷🖤

I'll preface my review by stating I love Extradose, I really like Green Stravaganza, and I can't tolerate the original DBIR at all. My nose perceives the jasmine in it to smell like soiled hay in a zoo enclosure every time I try it. Ugh! I have to agree with others that have said Intense smells like a cross between the original and Extradose. I'm sadly still getting some indolic jasmine in the beginning, but it's primarily a boozy, rich vanilla like Extradose albeit a touch more mature and not quite as sweet/exotic. The dry down is feminine and lovely! I'll use up and enjoy my travel size of Intense, but I definitely prefer Extradose. :) ** Update 3/29 - I take back what I said about preferring Extradose. Trying Intense again today, and the additions of amber and benzoin are totally doing it for me. It's really good! I also happened to be wearing this while assembling my cold brew coffee this morning, and the scent of coffee in the air + Intense was amazing. I might try layering Intense with a coffee-forward fragrance.

Honest Review: Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense Initial Impression: Powerful, non-gourmand perfume. At the first spritz, I get a powerful dose of a Pantene Shampoo-like note which slowly falls towards a tropical type of note. Dry Down: An hour after warming up on my skin, transforms into a rich, deep vanilla and amber. I still get a sense of the tropical note with a hint of fresh light scented flowers. In comes a touch of light coconut but the vanilla/amber is very dominant. Still a non gourmand perfume to me. Application: I apply a few spritzes on my pulse points and that lasts me the whole day. I am still able to smell Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense on my jackets days later. I envision a confident businesswoman in her late 20s+ wearing this on a date night with her partner. It's a sophisticated, intoxicating scent that's perfect for a night out, perhaps over a few glasses of red wine or bourbon. This perfume is a trail-leaving, grown-up fragrance that exudes allure and sensuality. Hope this helps! ❤️

I absolutely adore this perfume but I do understand why some people don't. I've never came across any other fragrance that would smell so different on each person. It is definitely not a safe blind buy, not even if you spray it on paper first. You must test it on your skin and let it sit for a couple of hours in order to make sure it will be a good match with your personal body chemistry. All that said, it is a very well put together fragrance combining dark florals and bourbon vanilla. In the opening I get a nuclear amount of jasmine and vanilla which slowly turns into skin-like, creamy and almost lactonic tone on my skin. The drydown is subtle and super comforting. It quickly became my everyday go-to fragrance, unless I really feel like wearing something specific from the rest of my collection. It does not deserve comparison to urinals or funerals. No fragrance is a fit-to-all and if it does not mix well with your skin pH, just skip it.

I sprayed it on my hand at Sephora when I wasn’t even looking to purchase. I went to dinner with friends afterwards and all I wanted to do was to lick my hand. It smells incredible! No perfume, no food, no man (you read that right) has ever had this effect on me, before and since. I went back and purchased it the second I finished the plate. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. A couple sprays is enough to fill the room later on in the day. It’s a warm, dark and sexy scent that makes me feel confident and cosy somehow. Perfect for winter. On the other hand, I sprayed it on my friend’s wrist and it turned into a different smell. She loves it on me but hated it on herself, so it may not work for everyone. Too expensive, but 50ml bottle lasted 2-3 winters for me which never happens either. Overall, I’m IN LOVE with it, and desperately need it in my life. Shame it’s too strong for summer.

I haven't tried the original Born in Roma—I went straight for the Intense version, and I don't regret it. I love ambery vanilla fragrances, so this was right up my alley. The vanilla is rich and addictive, while the jasmine keeps it feminine and elegant. It's sweet but not candy-like and has a depth that makes it feel more special than most vanilla perfumes I've tried. As someone living in Southeast Asia, it can be a bit heavy in hot and humid weather, so I have to be careful not to overspray. But on cooler days, date nights, or in air-conditioned places, it's absolutely gorgeous. I've tried many fragrances since, but this remains one of my favorites and one of the strongest contenders for my signature scent. It has also made me very curious about Born in Roma Extradose—I just hope Valentino doesn't lose the magic that made me fall in love with the Intense version. 9.5/10

Had a customer come into my work with a little travel sized bottle filled with this, she let me spray some on, I will forever be grateful, girl had a vibe that only God herself could recreate in a full pink outfit would literally take a bullet for her, and her perfume really tied it together, It was feminine but had an underlying masculine scent that felt like a woman mourning the loss of her very dead husband who she insists she did not kill while drinking a full bottle of champagne and wearing a long feathered robe. Good for the night time, but could honestly work as a signature scent, very strong at first but mellows out into this gorgeous floral scent thats still fairly strong. Lasts for awhile, and can cut through the scent of fryer oil, which is a difficult task.

The original perfume that made me fall in love with Designer Fragrance. I not only got addicted to it but I managed to rope my mother in as well. Then we got a lady at work hooked on it as well. When I first got it we couldn’t stop smelling the box and bottle, it was that serious. Incredibly intoxicating and incredibly sexy. Anytime I wear it I feel like Marilyn Monroe. It can be overpowering for other people’s body chemistry. And this is why I don’t like wearing it during the day or during the summer unless it’s a special occasion. The scent lasts a long time and people will smell it from an arms length away. But I always get complimented! Would not recommend as a Blind Buy but I do believe everyone should give this one a chance! Highly recommend!

She's been dying to go out and show off her new Valentino pumps from their latest collection but they hurt like hell. That's okay though because she's networking! Making connections! Donna Born in Roma Intense isn’t just a perfume. It is actually seduction in a bottle. ✨💋 A rich, warm amber & vanilla fragrance, with a touch of radiant jasmine, it creates an intoxicating scent bubble that makes you smell irresistible. My nose also picks up a hint of creamy coconut though it isn’t mentioned in the notes. Smooth & creamy, bold and sensuous, BIR Intense has been my go to date-night fragrance ever since I bought it in April. With incredible longevity and sillage, it is absolutely, gorgeous! And just how stunning is that ombré bottle! Truly attention grabbing in every way. While it’s beautiful by itself, I also love layering it with Versace Crystal Noir / Miller Harris Black Datura / M.Micallef Ylang in Gold.

I changed my mind, I LOVE IT!!!!! It was a freebie. First impression is of a generic, sweet, heavy, run-of-the-mill fragrance that is so popular right now. You take a whiff and go “oof!” What a bomb. It is what it is. It’s unapologetic. A boozy vanilla, indolic jasmine, sultry amber STATEMENT. Everyone will smell it. And that’s ok... everyone’s loved it (so far)! It’s got spunk, it’s got attitude, it says “I’m here on a girl’s night, alcoholic pop in hand, and we’re going to rock this town!” It’s pink and black. It’s too much makeup. It’s blown-out hair, pierced tongues and wedge heels. Vibe is from about 15 years ago. I find myself reaching for it, not because it’s sophisticated, classic or refined, but because it’s FUN.

This is a little gem. Nothing pretentious, just pure deliciousness. It's got a lovely combination of jasmine and vanilla, which is very popular at the moment, but done beautifully. Very similar to Alien Goddess Intense, without the coconut and bergamot accords. It's sweet, feminine, suitable for the office or date night. I find it to be long lasting but it will turn into a skin scent after 2 to 3 hours, so nothing crazy in terms of longevity. The projection is intimate. I do like it very much, but feel like it would be a hit if only the performance were a little better. Overall, a lovely scent.

TLDR: Amazing. 10/10. Got a small sample of this a month ago and really liked it, so I committed to it and bought a whole bottle a week ago. And I totally love it. It smells great on me and lasts for pretty much most of the day. I've gotten so many compliments since wearing it. It gives confidence, pretty, all of it. I also think the bottle is nice, it doubles as a great decoration. Although it's pretty expensive, it's definitely my favorite of all the Valentino stuff, and I don't regret buying it one bit. Definitely recommend if you're really into amber, creamy vanilla scents.

A very beautifully defined warm ambery jasmine on paper, but its very faint cozy warm numb floral vanilla on my body. Doesn't last regarding the price. May be it's just that on me, or cz its summer here. You should definitely give it a try. It's not as harsh/rich/deep/spicy as other intense perfumes like YSL intense, Tom ford oud wood, dark orchid. Like it can be office, party, mall versetile use. If you want a bit caring, dark, cozy vibe then its perfect. However, you can always blind buy BIR coral fantasy. Thats great for day time♡

This perfume shocked me to say the least! Even though I typically don't like designer perfumes for being rather generic and lackluster there is something so seductive of this perfume! The perfume smells clean, classy yet strong. There is vanilla in this perfume but it's subtle. This perfume is jasmine heavy but in such a sexy, femme fatale type of way. This perfume exudes high end glamour and sophistication. Akin to niche/niche like fragrances. Lasts long on skin and clothes. G wagon vibesss $$

On my skin, the combination of amber and bourbon vanilla develops beautifully. And I’m not sure if it’s the amber or benzoin, she almost smells like sweet rosy berries on me. She’s very chic and feels like a woman with personality. I am big on ME fragrances and in comparison, she feels like real quality... what with the fragrance itself, which to me has a certain je ne sais quoi, besides the longetivity and sillage. My boyfriend really likes this, and he likes only a few of my fragrances.

Wow this smells SO amazing. It lasts all day and towards the end of the day I can still smell it, and it smells very vanilla-y at the end in the best way. I kept catching whiffs of this throughout the day and thinking about how I good I smelled lol. I kept smelling my wrist because I liked the way this smells so much. Not very many notes, yet it’s still a beautiful and mysterious smell. Someone on here recommended this perfume to me for my wedding day scent, and it just might be the one.

OMG where do i even begin! Valentineo understood the assignment this time Donna born in roma intense is this beautiful, thick, warm, intoxicating syrupy sweet vanilla which is absolutely heavenly! This is for the gourmand lovers who like to smell delicious and like everyone to smell them. It’s like a creamier version of the OG. Truly one of the best new releases so far. Also It’s a all year round scent imo, Can’t wait to wear it all spring

This fragrance makes me feel like I'm a rich teenager at the beach, somewhere in the west coast. It's deeply magnetic, attractive, and invigorating. It just smells rich and feminine. The vanilla note is incredibly beautiful and makes this scent perfectly balanced with the floral notes. For the people saying it's too intoxicating and intense: this is literally the intense version, it says so in the name.

Beautiful blend of jasmine, vanilla and amber. This opens with a strong blast of jasmine, but not in an unpleasant way - and that's coming from someone who struggles with strong jasmine notes, like those found in Alien. It then dries down into a warm and sophisticated vanilla-y amber, supported by a background of soft and creamy white florals. Fantastic longevity too, at around 10-12 hours. 9/10!

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense was a slow burn for me. At first, it felt too strong—heavy on the jasmine, and I couldn’t pick up the vanilla or bourbon I initially loved in the store. But after a few months, it all clicked. This scent is sophisticated, cozy, and absolutely shines with my skin chemistry. Now, it’s my go-to for date nights, and the compliments roll in every time I wear it!

I love the smell of jasmine tea, and this smells exactly like jasmine tea! Trust me, I sprayed this on my wrist and smelled it side by side with jasmine tea lol. I already like jasmine in perfumes, in small doses, but this is the only pure jasmine fragrance I love. This one is deeper and more realistic than the og imo. If you’re a jasmine lover, this is the only thing you need in your life!

As a big jasmine lover, this perfume is gorgeous. The opening is a burst of fruity jasmine, and the combination of the jasmine and vanilla also create this initial tropical-coconut scent. As it settles the amber and benzoin add this jammy, syrupy trail, adding depth and balance. Beast-mode longevity with vanilla shining through beautifully. It’s feminine, flirtatious and oh-so intoxicating.

Ohhh what do i say about this one, its toooo goood ... the Intense is pure heat .. rich, spicy, and absolutely decadent. The vanilla is sultry and deep, wrapped in golden amber and smooth benzoin that gives it a resinous, almost smoky touch. It’s warm and addictive, like a luxe embrace on a cold night. THIS is so much better than classic born in roma! I got two samples for each, to try how it works with my skin chemistry. I couldn't stand classic one and it was annoying me. This leans to spicy, warm rich vanilla and it smells expensive! Not my everyday wear though. I think its perfect for nighttime and dates. Also perfect for cold season! Idk if I would wear it during heat hehe

I have to say, I tried it at Sephora one day and just kept coming for a little more for about two weeks before buying the 30ml. Now that I have it, I use it every two weeks probably, it's something I want in my collection, even if it's not an every day wear, I really just enjoy it so much. Sweet, vanilla, amber... just amazing! It lasts all day on me, and days on my clothes :)

Beautiful amber based scent with and initial blast of jasmine and a warm, comforting vanilla in the dry down. It’s nothing groundbreaking but I really enjoy it. For me it’s an evening & night time scent. I also have the original Donna born in Roma which is more fresh and bright for daytime wear but doesn’t last long. The intense version lasts well and has decent projection.

I see a lot of negative reviews but before you believe them all, you need to try this on your OWN body chemistry. Maybe theirs just doesn’t mix. So far I’ve been stopped everytime I wear this and I’m asked what I’m wearing. It lasts all day and is not too overbearing on me at least. I would agree to some degree it reminds me of goddess Intense (which I am a fan of as well)

I wasn't sure what to expect from this perfume, but it was another pleasant surprise! It's sweet but not gourmand, floral but not sharp or clean. Surprisingly complex for how few notes it has, and I'm always a sucker for bourbon notes, it always makes any fragrance addicting to me! This is probably a perfume I'll wear if I wanna catch someone's attention!

I got a tiny little sample of this to try and it is love at first sniff. I have a travel size of the OG and I like that one too, but I like this even better! The amber and jasmine work beautifully together on my skin. It dries down to a cozy vanilla. I can smell it for hours on my skin and it is delicious. I will definitely be getting a big bottle!

So funny thing about this perfume on my skin is I can deffinetly smell the vanilla and jasmine but surprisingly it also smells of forest berries. Somehow I have channeled a more vanilla forward Parfums de Marly Meliora. The only somewhat disappointing thing is the projection but this just makes it a better daytime work perfume for me.

Beautiful easy to wear without suffocating anyone even during the summer (unlike my beloved extradose which is a vanilla rum BOMB 💣) 💖💝 I love this too. For every day. All times. Unfortunately it doesn't last as much as the extradose and it doesn't project much. Inoffensive sweet vanilla-benzoin amber.

Gorgeous, sophisticated scent easy to wear all year but in summer would suggest wear in the evening. Good dupes for the intense Mia Dolcezza by Maison Alahambra - warm creamy version or Hiyam by Al Absar in-between the intense and normal version softer fruity version both just as good as original

To me, this is the best flanker out there. The Vanilla and Tonka are amped up. Depending on how heavy you go in, this could easily transform from day to night. Ultra feminine. While I believe that most scents are unisex, I don't think i would want to smell this on a masculine man.

Absolute beast-mode gourmand! The bourbon vanilla opening is rich and cozy, blending into a creamy jasmine heart before drying down to a deep, warm resinous amber. Easily lasts 8–10 hours on skin and leaves an insane scent trail. Perfect for date nights and cold weather.

I was excited to buy this perfume after smelling a sample but when i bought it was really different than this one , more fruity and fresh like a summer fragrance with no jasmine or vanilla maybe I should let it macerate after spraying it . Hopefully it will change 🙌🏼

I think I like the Intense version more than the original, this is fruity, vanilla, caramel, heavy, blackcurrant. It's sexy and wonderful! Perfect for datenight, for a night out with the girls! And the bottles are AMAZING aswell, they're heavy and luxury! 10/10

I got this today and I actually adore it - it was a blind buy after trying the Extradose in another country. There's something super sexy and edgy about it which is a step in a different direction to my usual gourmands, which is amazing!

This is a very attractive fragrance and a total compliment magnet. It’s definitely not for daytime wear; I got so many compliments at the night club. The only downside is the dry down—it leaves a sour scent behind that I’m not a fan of.

My new signature scent. Warm, sweet without being too sweet, clean smelling but not too strong but not cloying and fades down to a nice clean, skin scent. The jasmine, amber and vanilla blend is beautifully done. Perfect for daily wear.

An intoxicating perfume. The jasmine balances out the amber notes beautifully on my skin developing into a seductive warm sweetness. I have received so many compliments when wearing this. My partner loves it. Perfect for a night out.

Addictive and yummi and sexy!! It's like a creamy, ambery, and less fruity version of the original Donna Born in Roma. It's feminine and sweet, but not immature. A little goes a long way though,, gee whizz this stuff can PROJECT.
