Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Coral Fantasy

2 years ago I would’ve glazed this fragrance beyond belief, late 2023 to early 2025 was the greatest thing my 14 year old mind had ever smelt. Right now though, probably ranks second on my winter fragrance tier list but it was first for so long that it doesn’t seem to matter. With all the talk about the Projection, I distinctly remember 4 sprays of this becoming a debate in my friend group. We were maybe elbow length apart standing in a line to go into a classroom, I was immediately told that 4 sprays was too much. I haven’t heard a single comment about the projection since. Take that story however you want. Scent Profile is amazing and easily the best that Valentino do. Tobacco and Red Apple really stick out to me but honestly you could smell any red fruit if you put your mind to it. If you told me to describe this scent it’d be Year 10 PE but that’s probably because of how strong the scent profile was 5-50seconds after spraying. Unique enough to be a signature scent but Basic enough to not stick out too much. Smells way different on skin then it does on clothes/tester strips/hair or really anything else you can think of. All that said, if I had to describe this fragrance through a memory it would be a nervous first date with a mutual friend. Longevity is simply ridiculous, would spray it before school at 8ish then still smell the same spray when i got ready for training at 6ish. Scent definitely smells different on skin compared to clothes or tester strips but lasts so much longer on skin. You CANNOT wear this in hot weather, the smell is somewhat overwhelming at 2degrees in December, let alone 25+. Youd be better off spraying pure BO on yourself than wearing this in Summer. Overall, 8/10- Amazing pricing, seen it sell for £65 which is just a bargain.

This is a great overall scent. Designer, the bottle is quite nice and is unique without being excessive (CH Bad Boy is what I consider a little too much), the name is cool although admittedly there isn't anything really "coral" about it. Apple note is really nice, the opening is very solid. The middle is the best though, when the opening mixes with that tobacco dry down, it's amazing. Value is ok, it did hurt a little bit to see the money go, but I definitely felt like I was getting good value for what I paid. I will say, this seems to be either generally inoffensive with the ladies or an absolute hit. One or the other, very little in between. Personally, I wear it because I like it, but the complementary aspect of it doesn't hurt - the person who recommended it to me said this: "I wish my boyfriend would buy this, this is how I want my man to smell in bed". My only critiques? Not super unique, but remember that uniqueness is relative. Most guys don't wear cologne, and most of the population don't even know this exists (excluding the fragrance community). Also wish it was a little longer lasting and had a bit more projection, but really I can't complain. This is definetly intended to be a very versatile scent that is invited, not announced. 8.5/10, love it. edit: Ok I just had to edit this, IF YOU USE VASELINE ON YOUR HOT POINTS IT PROJECTS SO MUCH MORE. 5 sprays, behind the ears, one on the wrist and then pressed (not rubbed) together, two on the front of the shirt. Also, it lasts far longer on clothes, particularly cotton. I sprayed on a normal shirt, and on a 100% cotton shirt, its been 16+ hours since I sprayed its still.strong. enough. to. notice. if you're right there. definitely a 9 with the vaseline, 9/10

In the drydown, the scent settles into a slightly spicy, sweet tobacco-woody profile that feels soft and refined rather than heavy or overly warm. As it continues, the sweetness gradually fades, leaving behind a drier tobacco-woody base with a faint spicy edge. Overall, this is a well-balanced fragrance that transitions from a sweet, playful opening into a more mature, darker, and slightly earthy mid and drydown. It offers a nice contrast between modern sweetness and traditional masculine depth, making it a versatile and enjoyable wear. Longevity is solid at around 6 hours, with a smooth and cohesive evolution throughout. 8/10

love this frag, has been my dumb reach for the past few weeks. To my nose i get a lot of air freshener kind of vibes in the initial 10 minutes. defiantly not bad, but smells like a fruity cleaning wipe or car freshener. Smells very bright citrusy apple with florals in aswell. once it dries down a bit it smells very warm and fruity, it's like a cherry/red apple pie almost, it reminds me of filling of a pie, not overly sweet, but the apple note mixed with the cardamom and Tabaco give it a really warm and cozy scent too it. Its not syrupy either, i think the floral notes balance it out. its masculine leaning but fully masculine, i still really like it but the florals and sweetness in the frag make it more feminine. Would recommend this Coral fantasy for the fall/winter, it could obviously work too in the heat but that warm coziness too it gives me more fall fragrance. Only things about coral fantasy i don't really like are the longevity and projection. On my skin it lasts maybe 4-5 hours and becoming a skin scent for another 2-3 hours, but then again it is an EDT, I'm hoping theyll put out an edp that dives deeper into more fall/winter notes. Just like Born in Roma, you could use this cologne in about any occasion, i think its unique and cozy. i would def see about testing on skin or on clothes before you buy. I don't think the scent is overly extraordinary, its complex and different, a sweet, warm, cozy red apple scent, with floral notes mixed in. i think its great but not a MUST BUY fragrance. 8/10 scent 5/10 longevity 8/10 price 7/10 overall

This falls into that category of beginner-friendly designer tobacco which is great for a designer especially at this price point (on discounters at least). The opening is a juicy, sweet red apple, immediately attention-grabbing and approachable. Bergamot adds brightness and zest, though up close on my skin it leans slightly sour and acidic, giving the opening a sharper edge. As it settles, the cardamom and vetiver introduce a mature, spiciness that grounds the sweetness. The spices and red apple mix reminds me of cinnamon apples, which was a welcomed surprise. There’s a aromatic backbone running through the scent, adding structure and masculinity. The tobacco plays a supporting role rather than leading, which keeps the fragrance versatile, wearable, and the reason why I think it falls into that beginner friendly tobacco. While the sweetness may read a bit juvenile to a more mature crowd, it tones down once the aromatics, spices, and tobacco come forward. At the same time, it's still there but avoids smelling like a “dad scent,” for the younger guys that want sweetness in their fragrances. Performance is solid, good longevity, noticeable projection, and it’s definitely a compliment-friendly fragrance. Overall, this is a very versatile, masculine designer scent that can work year-round. That said, in high summer heat the spices might feel a bit heavy, so lighter application is the move there.

Scent: 9.2/10 From the atomizer the smell is so perfect it's like realistic apple & clean laundry, which is actually how it is for the first 15 minutes on skin. The laundry smell i associate with the lavender which also gives it a modern and masculine background--meaning that this isn't sickly sweet like I was afraid it would. Perfect signature, very masculine and modern. The drydown, however, is very faint and I'm not sure how much I love the tobacco. I love earthy and herbal scents, but for a very brief period the the smoky aspect of the tobacco emits this weird sickly sweetness that I'm just not a fan of. That being said, this only applies to when I press my nose up against my skin. Otherwise, in the air, it likely smells great. Performance: 7.5/10 Initially, the sillage was like soft-moderate which is what I wanted. However, the longevity was laughably bad when I first tried it. After comparing it to my bleu de chanel edp, because it has phenomenal longevity on my skin, and they actually lasted almost the same which was surprising. Overview: Smoky apple laundry, yet I'm still trying to estimate an exact projection length. Perfect signature for anyone, maybe not too old because there's better alternatives likely. I'm still on the search for my perfect signature, but THIS comes damn close.

The drydown introduces a sweet yet dry tobacco note, accompanied by a hint of patchouli that adds an earthy depth. This combination creates a slightly rugged vibe, which I find intriguing and appealing. In terms of performance, Uomo Born in Roma Coral Fantasy impresses. The initial projection lasts around four hours, creating a nice scent bubble around you. After that, the aroma remains close to the skin for just over seven hours, allowing you to enjoy it without overwhelming those around you

Saw all the hype this got online and went to go smell it in a sephora, needless to say I felt like I had to have it. Super worth it to me considering it's on discounters for the full size bottle and I get decent longevity out of it as well. The opening to me is a sweetened cardamom from the red apple that slowly dials down on the sweetness as the tobacco blends in for the dry down. The lavender doesn't jump out to me (maybe it's blended perfectly?) in this as much as the cardamom and is almost a sweeter YSL La Nuit De L'Homme EDP to me for the opening. Everyone says this could be an every day fragrance throughout the year, and while I do see why as it has the brightness from being slightly sweet and isn't too overbearing in the spice mix, for me personally I think the tobacco is too strong to be worn during the day time, especially in the warmer weather. Still amazing though, and I would definitely prefer to wear it in the evenings but could see it being worn during the day time.

I like it a lot, i do have other colognes in my collection that i would say beat this in terms of what i use it for. I would say this coral fantasy is definitely for special occasions, date nights and etc. It projects well, i didn’t much like the opening when it comes to how it hit my head or nose. It gave me some sort of irritation or slight headache for the first 30 minutes or so, however the dry down was amazing and i could still smell it on my clothes when i woke up the next day. The dry down is amazing, it isn’t too powerful but just smells amazing. I believed the hype and it proved to be true. I want to try intense however i heard this one is better. I will say i don’t know much about colognes or the notes since i am an amateur, i do like this cologne a lot though. 9.7/10 - 9.7 | Only because of the opening was a bit intense on my nose, but the dry down made it for it.

The opening could be better, specifically less synthetic but in the first 15 minutes it dries down to this bold, aromatic blend of apple, tobacco, and vetiver. I even get some cinnamon in this, making it especially suitable for fall, but this flows well even in other seasons. I feel like it could definitely be a bit cloying in months like July when it’s around 80°F. (At least where I live, Southern Virginia.) This will be good for cooler summer days when it’s around 65-75° and those cooler nights when i’m going out. Performance is slightly above average for an EDT. Lasted me about 5 hours before it became a skin scent, and stuck close to me for an additional 2-2.5 hrs. Sillage is also pretty decent, enough for those around me to notice and receive compliments. Intensely masculine but not in a Dior Sauvage sense. 8.9/10 overall, excellent work Valentino!

Smells almost exactly the same as Stronger with you intensely but slightly more fresh/versatile with the red apple note. This is a good thing for me as i love SWYI and SWYA. A little bit redundant if you have SWYI i think. My partner hates it unfortunately as she hates sweet fragrances so I can’t wear it around her. This definitely leans more winter/night time but it could also be fine as an office or everyday scent if you want it to be. It is a bit powdery on the drydown and the freshness wears off after an hour or 2 but still goes strong for pretty much the whole day with moderate projection so it is pretty insane for an EDT. A fairly safe blind buy. I really crave wearing this if i havent worn in for a few weeks as the scent is quite addictive - i keep coming back to it. 9/10 if I had to score it. One of the best designer scents i own.

Opening is very red apple like, citrusy, overall fruity. As it starts to dry down the tobacco gives it such a rich sweetness that combines very well with the apple that hangs around. The lavender keeps it fresh. The performance on this one is solid. Turns into a skin scent after about 5-6 hours, so it could go longer, but still not bad. The projection with 3 sprays is pretty moderate, I would say only 6 feet or so. Luckily for me, that is my preference. I smelled this at a department store and really liked it, bought a decant. I have tried it on my skin a few times now and I can definitely say that when my decant runs out I will be buying a full bottle. This is a great fall and winter, warm scent that feels like getting hugged.

Decided to treat myself, had this on my wishlist for quite some time. This is a bright fruity scent with apple and bergamot in the top notes, which dries down into a soft and sophisticated tobacco. Along the way, it is greatly supported by the aromatic lavender, which is a signature feature of the Born In Roma collection. Despite being an EDT, it performs on the same level as BIR Intense EDP, perhaps even a bit better due to the scent being more notable. It's a way more playful take on the DNA, and is fitting for any occasion or time of year. I would advise to try before buying, but it's not as risky as some other scents, and has excellent quality for the price. Solid 9/10.

My old bottle is about to run out and since I love this perfume, I decided to buy a new one. When I opened it and smelled it, it smelled totally different. My old bottle smells like red apple, fresh tobacco and some vetiver and lavender but the new one smells totally different, like an entire different perfume. Lavender and vetiver are prominent and a bit different with a tiny bit of red apple and no tobacco at all! I don't understand how one perfume can have two entire different scent profiles! This isn't reformulation, this is a different perfume. Maybe if I leave it for a few weeks it changes just like how dupes change after a few weeks. I hope it does.

Initially I thought this was a fairly basic scent; however, after few hours of my skin, my impression completely changed. Once it settles, it becomes one of my favorite scents. The fruity tobacco notes radiate beautifully–especially with warmth–which enhances the scent and gives it a rich, cozy character. I find myself repeatedly smelling my forearm because it develops into one of the most comforting and masculine fruit forward scents I have experienced. While the opening is not particularly impressive, the dry down and overall evolution are exceptional. Did not truly shines as it matures, becoming far more peeling over time.

smells like spiced apple cider in a cool breezy field of aromatic flowers and tobacco. underrated performance, projects great and lasts as long as the other popular winter bangers while not being too heavy or cloying. compliment magnet (multiple on first wear) and worth the hype. dumb reach for any situation besides particularly hot weather. this and yellow dream (also the gold one if you can find it) are the most unique smelling and best of the BIR line. btw this smells nothing like winners trophy silver, and the only thing it has in common with BIRI is the sparkly/airy quality that all BIRs have

I need to get myself another bottle of this. It’s so good. Apple tobacco, such an interesting combination pulled off so well here. For a designer this is niche quality and out does a ton of the niche ones I’ve gotten my nose on. Added bonus for the bottle and juice being absolutely gorgeous I don’t normally give out 10s .... But this is a 10/10 to me. Intoxicating fragrance, it’s in the same boat as Layton where when I walk past I always find myself taking off that cap for a sniff. In fact, I would call this a designer version of Layton. Layton is better but it’s 4x the price, so it better be.

Jean-Christophe is one of my top 3 best perfumers of all time, starts off so good and very nicely blended, I hate sweet frags especially khamrah type scents, bit this is not overly sweet at all, just perfectly balanced with the bitterness of the tobacco and the dryness of the vetiver. Amazing scent, smells nothing like anything I have in my collection. Lasts long and really nice bubble projection. 8-9 hours for me. I remember smelling it at a mall when I was in my teens and I wanted to have a bottle ever since, and now I finally got one and my inner teen self is extremely happy. 9.2/10

Without looking at the notes at first, it smelled very much like a concentrated essence of fruit salad. When I saw the red apple, yeah it made sense. The smell is fruity, sweet, and very much the color Red. You also notice the tobacco backbone which makes this unique, and it does a great job being both mass appealing and statement-making. I don't think it's good for summer though. Yeah you get slight tartness from the red apple but this is undeniably sticky sweet. Like a fruit salad for the holidays. Overall, really love this and it's definitely the best in the Born in Roma line.

This is a top 3 designer sent all time for me. It is loud, sexy and juicy. If you want people to comment on what you're wearing look no further. Two sprays and I've had coworkers repeatedly telling me how good I smell on multiple occasions. My former roommates would ask to wear it on dates. It's just good. If you're reading this. Don't listen to reviews that say it's bad. These are fragrance snobs, with niche tastes and who are into particularly artistic and unique fragrances. If you're just a dude who wants to smell good, don't overthink it, just by this and look no further.

Coral Fantasy has to be a top three fragrance of all time for me. In a world of daily drivers being "blue" fragrances, Coral Fantasy hits the mark of being easy to wear, mass appealing, and fairly unique. The tobacco note in this fragrance is soft yet it projects well and blends beautifully with patchouli and vetiver. The longevity and projection on this fragrance go hand in hand and, at least for me, last a good 6+ hours. While this fragrance evolves well past its opening, the top notes still linger in the background especially if applied to the wrist I've found.

This is definitely my favorite fragrance up until now. This coming from a fragrance addict who has smelled a lot of niche and designers. Maybe my nose is just weird, who knows. This is a great scent. I love the apple and tobacco. Fruitiness + smokiness really does something to a man like me. It's a versatile scent as well and I've gotten a shit ton of compliments from women with this. For some reason, women love this. Which is a good thing. I'll always be a Valentino glazer, to be honest. I'm yet to smell a bad fragrance from their line. I recommend this

This is the fragrance that made me start taking an interest in cologne so I’ll always love it... BUT there are some negatives. The scent profile is incredible and intoxicating but it does not last on my skin. Disclaimer: I did leave it in the car once or twice because I did not know that was terrible for the cologne so maybe that is the reason, but the only draw back of this fragrance is that it doesn’t have a strong sillage and does not last that long. It is however my most complimented cologne and it is aging like fine wine so far!

Ok, this is BY FAR my favorite fragrance, I even made an account here just to tell you - buy it, you won't regret it. It is very long lasting with medium/high projection, but if you spray enough, believe me, people will notice you! I have had so many compliments with this fragrance its diabolical. I have heard "somebody here has a great perfume" a dozen of times, both from women and men. I am currently on the last ~20 ml of my second bottle and there is no doubt in my mind that I will buy another one. 10/10 absolute cinema

Fruit and tobacco makes for an incredible scent, I absolutely love this. Bought directly from Valentino and I'll probably snag a 2nd bottle soon to load up on the original formulation. The whole born in roma line is top notch, easily one of my favorites and I think Coral fantasy is my favorite. Edit: Just scored a 2nd bottle, this is the type of release I want this early formulation with, I can't believe how something this good gets totally shit on and so many just follow suit, it's one of the best releases this year.

Nose note #3: Some people would say that this fragance is waaay to sweet, but I cant disagree more. The opening is a flagrant red apple with some bergamot on it. After half an hour or so, the red apple dissappears and make the way to the lavender and tobacco, which makes it perfect to dates between 20-30yo. Finally the tobacco stands along a dark and earthy note, coming from the patchouli. The price is ok and it lasts around 2 hours with trailing and another 4-5 hours in the arm. Price: 47€, 50mL Rate: 8/10

I adore this frag, but it falls short on performance. Defiantly an overspray type of juice. If over sprayed, the tabaco note is heavy for about 5 minutes then it blends perfectly into the fruity and floral notes. It’s very playful but still remains sophisticated. You could wear this for any occasion and it smells like a designer, very high end. I’d say it leans more warm weather but it works good in the cooler months too. It’s one you wish had a bit of a bigger bite to it. More loud, regardless. Fantastic!

One of the best Valentinos for anyone who's new to fragrances. It's both fresh and aromatic, the scent offers a stunning balance of floral, fruity, and with a tobacco mix which doesn't make this fragrance feel feminine. This fragrance is mostly suitable for the spring and summer. For the longevity and sillage, I get a solid 6-8 hours on skin, with moderate sillage meaning it leave a beautiful scent trial without being too overpowering. Overall, I'd rate this fragrance a 9.2

One of the best designers out there under $150, however you need to let it rest thirty minutes before it smells the best. Too much in the opening, spicy, sharp. Not that great. However once the time is up, it is amazing. Everyone I know loves this stuff. Addictive apple and tobacco mix, I know it sounds weird but is really nice. Lasts and projects amazing, around 8 hours with strong projection (keep in mind this is an EDT). Will always be a staple in my collection. 8/10

One of my most used colognes in my collection, and deservingly so. It is so versatile, and in my opinion, the best out of the line. You can wear this any season, and it is a nice floral yet masculine scent. So easy to throw on any time of year and any time of day. Last 10 hours and even longer on clothes. Signature scent worthy as long as you're not over spraying it. Have gotten many compliments out of this and will for sure repurchase once I am out.

I love this fragrance very good dry down at first I don’t like it to much very sweet apple but after about 15 minutes it drys down to a sophisticated scent the cinnamon apple and tobacco blending perfectly for a very good scent when it starts to fade, about 3 hours with 3 foot projection. It turns into a lovely skin scent that I can’t stop smelling I almost smell a vanilla then mixed with the tobacco, its amazing!

Love this. I have a tendency to find most sweet fragrances cloying, but I am loving this fragrance because it strikes such a great balance. It performs great (projection 4 hrs+ and lasts on skin at least 8) and I do not get tired of smelling it. As others have said, I like that this has more of a unique identity than some of the other Born in Roma contenders. I feel like it was worth the $100 or so!

It is really masculine, sexy and sweet. The combination of red apple and tobacco is really unique for a designer scent. The price of this perfume is fair, for what you get. I think this could make a good signature scent, you can almost wear it anytime you want. For me, I would say it is a good night out, compliment getter/attention grabbing, loud fragrance. Also daily driver for spring/fall.

I will rep this fragrance until the end. If I told you I could point out a note I would be lying, but it is really the best thing ever. I see reviews of artificial bubblegum smell but personally I didnt get that at all and would describe it as like a warmer but still acceptable for summer scent. Good all around go to and even with daily use it still gets compliments like 70% of the time.

9.5/10 Fenomenal Apple and Bergamot Cologne that just smells like Spring.Coral Fantasy is perfect for spring and summer but you can even pull it off as a daily go to fragrance since it’s very versatile,with a pretty good projection.The value of this fragrance is also pretty good for what you get.I’d definitely recommend this to anyone and it is a must have in your collection.

Lavender/geranium/Vetiver combo makes it a more mature option from the Born in Roma line. Reminds me of a less intense lighter version of Mancera Red Tobacco. Which I’m surprised no one else has noticed.

Love this one! It's a for me perfume and might not go home as well with the ladies as I would have imagined but it just makes me feel so good. The sweet fruit and berry combined with wonderful smoky tobacco is so addictive and it is my absolute favourite scent ever (apart from some smoky north scottish whiskies from a sadly discontinued but now reopened distillery).

Beautiful how this changes from a not so exciting opening to something I can't stop smelling in the dry down. Works on my clothes best. I wouldn't say I could pick out any notes specifically. Probably my inexperienced nose. a well blended fragrance and very pleasing. You know how sometimes a plain girl is the most beautiful? That's this fragrance for me

compliment puller! I have a little rotation going for this spring/summer and this one is always getting people asking what I'm wearing and saying i smell good. GOATED. Does great on my skin easily over 6+ hrs, the projection was decent, i don't think it drops off as fast as some people are saying it does. Overall this will always be in my rotation.

One of my favorite fragrances! First its a bit synthetic in the opening, but it dryes down to this warm spicy sweet scent! It's suitable for every season but i would say its more of a fall/spring fragrance. But you could wear this whenever you want! Its great for summer and winter to! just got the 100ml for $116. not the best deal but i'll take it. opens a little synthetic but sits down around the hour mark to a calm but very vibrant scent. like a fizzy apple juice with a nice tobacco backside to provide some depth. i really think its great, and so far eveyrone i've asked likes it. bottle is also cool 8.5/10

I tested this in store on skin and on tester strip and let me say it was the best fragrance I ever smelt at the time. To me it opens up with a smooth and warm base with the tobacco and a addicting punch from the apple note. over all this fragrance is a 9/10 for me and I still it and I'm definitely going to be buying a bottle.

I think after valentino uomo born in roma the intense version i think this is the second safest blind buy of the valentino line and the best one of the line, rightfully owns the right to call itself the best out of all. Love this fragrance and its quite versatile for all year round!!! Overall: 10/10. Simply Lovely.

THIS FRAGRANCE WILL FOREVER BE IN MY COLLECTION. TBH when I was shopping around and put my nose to this I had no clue it was a mens fragrance! I bought it immediately went home to search the notes to discover it was targeted for men. But WHATEVER. I wear it my husband wears it... it is just so lovely.

i dont necessarily get the any of the fruity notes in it but i for sure get the tobacco. The tobacco note can definitely be overwhelming in the heat, honestly id reccomend this for cooler days/nights. Overall a solid 8.5/10 if you wear it in the right weather definitely do not wear this in the heat.

Picked this one up a few months ago and it was 100% worth it. A nice citrusy apple opening that fades into an aromatic scent, but still has some hints of that tobacco that turns it into a year-round fragrance. A designer for $100 may seem a bit steep, but coral fantasy is worth every penny. 9.3/10.

After expanding my fragrance collection to over 15 fragrances, including high-end designer scents, niche fragrances, and dupes, I’ve come to the conclusion that this is my favourite fragrance of all time. The scent profile is ridiculously good, only critique is how the projection is not the best.

It open with an apple, bergamot, lavender, and tobacco scent. Kicks out with a hint of sage, geranium, cardamom, patchouli, and finally I get a final hit of vetiver. Overall amazing fragrance. Feels male cologne instead of unisex. Nice all year round fragrance. Probably best Valentino out there

Heard a lot about this online, smelt this in my local Purfume Shop and it was an immediate buy. Love the Apple opening as it nicely blends into the Lavender, the earthy/tobacco is extremely well done!, am not usually a fan of Valentino but this one is a cut above anything they have ever done

My favorite designer fragrance oat. Went to the store to buy my own first fragrance. Smelled the whole store and didn't know what to buy. Smelled this and immediately bought it. super versatile and that red apple tobacco combo is heavenly. Unique smell to, but lacks in projection 10/10
