Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Intense

My second review after owning this for about 8 months. I'd like to start out by saying that the late dry down (2hrs+ in) is absolutely my favourite part about BIRI. Also FYI, I'm gonna mention nutmeg and ginger, those are the unlisted notes, check parfumo. Now, the opening for me is where I think a lot of people get the generic feel from this fragrance, I'll be honest, in the opening its nothing too special but it is a very pleasant smell, its a nice fresh spicy ginger, hint of sweet vanilla, spicy nutmeg and floral lavender scent. It smells very clean with a tad bit of sweetness, slightly spicy, a bit floral and fresh but also just a little bit dense, like powdery dense, its very reminiscent of OG BIR and Prada paradigme but compared to paradigme it has less freshness, no citrus and no musk. I just might not be the biggest fan of this DNA but this is my least favourite part of BIRI but it is not bad AT ALL, it still smells amazing. Now the mid is where we start to transition to more of the sweetness, warmth and powdery-ness. The freshness and spiciness leaves as the nutmeg and ginger starts to fade, this is where BIRI starts becoming sweeter, warmer and more intimate, at this point there's a slight nuttiness that the nutmeg starts to give off and its made sweet as it fades away and mixes with the vanilla. The lavender also really starts to give off its purple floral nuances here, for me this is when the lavender is at its strongest. I think this is where BIRI starts shining, cause Idk what it is about the transition but its smells so good, the shift is also just really smooth. Now for my favourite part, the late dry down. This is where BIRI absolutely kills it. The powdery-ness is now in full effect, BIRI now feels very warm, the lavender has been toned down and the vanilla is now taking the center stage bringing the sweetness to its peak, the vetiver also has finally shown up but not in its typical form, no its coming across more subtly presenting more like a woody backbone that's dare I say, slightly smoky, like very slightly, the smokiness adds this dark texture, making BIRI the mysterious player that it is. This part of BIRI is exactly what I paid for and it stays like this indefinitely from the 2h mark. This is the scent that your FWB will be smelling when she picks up to smell your hoodie that she stole from you after swearing she's not attached, a nice sweet, powdery, woody and slightly floral smell, its really good and the transition and contrast from that ginger nutmeg freshness to the lavender woody vanilla is just wonderful. BIRI now gets a 8.3/10 from me (down from 9.0). I've just found it less exciting over time as I explored more. Its not perfect but that dry down keeps me coming back. Just like a FWB, Lol. Projection is a 7.9/10 Longevity is a 8.4/10 Bottle is a 10/10 Price is a 6.2/10 (you get what you pay for) I would recommend if you don't have a solid night out/winter fragrance.

Su duración es impresionante: lo uso a la mañana y todavía lo siento cuando vuelvo a casa, incluso después de haber pasado por lugares llenos de gente o haber estado en movimiento todo el día. Lo que más me sorprendió fueron los cumplidos. No pasa desapercibido. Más de una persona me preguntó qué perfume tenía puesto, y varias veces escuché el clásico “che, qué bien olés”. Es como si dejara una estela que llama la atención sin ser invasiva, pero sí marcadamente reconocible. Me dio la sensación de que este perfume ayuda a dejar una huella en la gente. En cuanto al aroma, es claramente dulce, pero no empalagoso. Tiene una profundidad que lo hace adictivo. La vainilla se siente enseguida, cálida y envolvente, como si te abrazara. A la vez, la lavanda aparece dándole frescura y elegancia, evitando que sea un dulce plano. Esa combinación hace que el perfume tenga un carácter muy destacable, algo que no se confunde con cualquier otro. Para mí, Born in Roma Intense funciona perfecto tanto para salir de noche como para usarlo todos los días si te gusta llevar algo con personalidad. No es tímido ni liviano: está hecho para quien quiere ser notado y no tiene problema en mostrarse. Si lo comparo con otros perfumes que probé, este tiene ese plus de intensidad y presencia, algo que muchos prometen pero pocos cumplen. En mi experiencia, es un perfume que transmite seguridad. Cada vez que me lo pongo siento como si subiera un escalón más en actitud. La duración, los cumplidos, el aroma dulce con vainilla y lavanda... todo suma para que se haya convertido en una de mis elecciones favoritas. Si tengo que definirlo en pocas palabras: es una fragancia que habla por mí incluso cuando yo no digo nada.

This was one of the first fragrances I ever bought and my 2nd designer. Where do I even begin.. What a masterpiece this is. Wearable whenever ( other than summer ), sweet with vanilla but still versatile, the lavender is really classy and sophisticated and the vetiver in the base notes isn't really noticeable until after a few hours but it smells like a clean soft wood. Got so many compliments from this one and I really enjoy wearing it every time. This is one of those fragrances that makes you feel much more confident and attractive than you actually are. Also makes you feel like a businessman with a suit and a tie going to an awards ceremony or something. The entire experience is awesome, the performance is good, on my skin it lasts about 6 hours and it projects pretty well for about 3-4 hours. Overall it is slightly linear but it somehow fits the entire vibe of the scent. It's sweet but not too sweet and it is very well balanced. Soft and sophisticated version of the Born in Roma dna. I seriously recommend this to anyone that wants an amazing sweet scent that won't choke everyone around them and that will not only be suitable for winter but also for spring, autumn and slightly fresher summer nights and special occasions as well. 10/10, masterpiece, absolute cinema.

this is one of my favourite scent profiles. it's not deeply complex, but a well blended youthful scent of lavendar and vanilla. the vanilla in this is so smooth, and reminds me of a vanilla ice cream. for the first 30 minutes, the projection of BIR intense is strong, before dying down to a decently projecting scent with the smooth vanilla. however, my biggest issue with this scent is that it doesn't last more than 3.5 hours on my skin. on clothes, this definitely lasts longer. but for my skin, i need to put a large amount of sprays. but, at the end of the day, this is a seductive and unisex scent anyone can wear, suited for almost any season. in my eyes, this would hit the hardest on summer nights, rather than in the winter. it's sweet, but not to the point where it's headache-inducing. still, don't overspray. this also has one of my favourite bottles ever for designer fragrances. this is a daily scent that people aged 15-25 can wear and smell attractive but interesting. what makes this perfectly unisex is the fact that it balances out the lavender and vanilla with the slightly woodsy notes at the base. this is a simple but well-done scent, and if not for the longevity, this would be perfect. 9/10

I originally planned to buy Extradose, but I got a great deal on this one. It's been hyped a lot, and lives up to the popularity. Generally, the sillage on the top note becomes less noticable after like an hour, but the rest holds its ground for several hours, with somewhat short projection (as a skin scent). I suggest spraying at least 2-3 times on clothes in addition to your regular routine (overall a good idea with a lot of perfumes), and then you'll get the most out of it. The scent is amazing, as I am quite a big fan of the born in roma signature lavender (and it got a LOT of that lavender). I really need to wear it more. EDIT: After having it in my rotation for some time, I keep coming back to it. It's captivating. Not sweet, not spicy, not floral, no nothing. It's a simple yet deep aromatic lavender. Also I don't know why but it seems to last longer now, than when I bought it! I get the whole 6 or 7 hours out of it. It still doesn't project far, but does it need to? You aren't announcing anything. You quietly make sure that you're the most charmingly-smelling person in the room. You smell good for those who matter. And that's when you understand how this scent works. Easy 9/10

Upon application, you are greeted with a sweet, ginger-powdery vanilla scent. The opening note aligns perfectly with the modern vanilla trend that is currently popular. It has a candy-like sweetness that many people will likely enjoy. Beneath the vanilla, I detected a hint of lavender, which helps keep the scent fresh and makes it more wearable for me. After about 15 minutes, I began to pick up some light woody notes that accompanied the opening, adding a more masculine profile. Eventually, the drydown occurs, where the vanilla and woody notes once again take center stage while the ginger and lavender begin to fade. In terms of performance, expect great projection off the skin for the first hour. After the initial hour, the scent settles closer to the body for up to three hours. However, you can still smell it on yourself for up to the seventh hour as a skin scent. Overall, this is another winner for the line. Great to wear anytime it gets slightly cooler in the year. Something you can easily wear out on a date or hanging out with friends

Fragrance Journal Entry #40 What an absolute STUNNER of a fragrance...with 1 major drawback. This fragrance opens up beautifully with a lavender/vanilla combo that is blended to perfection and a bubblegum sweetness that isn't too youthful, the vetiver plays a supporting role in the background to add some depth and freshness. This is in the same vein as something like JPG Ultramale but they differ in a few ways. To be frank the projection is quite weak, i did a total of 7 sprays and can barely smell it after 1 hour, now i'll concede i could be going noseblind so i'll have to see others reactions hours into it & i'll update this if thats the case but imo this would be a masterpiece of not for the bad projection. Fyi i got mine 3 months ago from fragrancenet for a solid price. I would recommend getting ultramale if you want to stand out more, this is moreso for the introverted types. Rating: 8.7/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

I am absolutely indecisive about how I’m feeling over this fragrance. I can’t stop wearing it all the time, even though I don’t even know what I like about it or if I even really like it. Something just makes me keep coming back to it. It’s a nice fresh sweetness, kinda bubblegum sweet but not overly sweet. Then there’s the aromatic, smooth and fresh edge to it that balances the sweetness. To me it’s really versatile, any occasion and any season (except summer, for that it’s a bit too sweet). My nose can only pin point the lavender in it and then the vetiver in the dry down but only very faint, I don’t get no real or strong vanilla smell from it. It smells better in the air rather than digging your nose onto your skin. It’s just a very pleasant and simple fragrance, something that just works. I started to like and appreciate simple fragrances more so this one’s good for me.

If you’re a young adult who already looks a bit older than your age, I can almost guarantee people will assume you’re even older just from catching a whiff of this scent. Overall, this fragrance gives off the vibe of a well-put-together, financially stable man and honestly, I really like that about it.

Amazing. I got my bottle this year and it’s one of the best smelling fragrances out there. That said, it’s not very innovative; it goes straight to the point, with a mass appealing and easy to wear profile. It features only three declared notes: vanilla, lavender, and vetiver. Valentino BIR screams parties or nighttime dates. I wouldn’t really wear it during the day; I’d consider other options instead, as it can feel a bit heavy. Longevity is solid it lasts about 4–6 hours on my skin before settling close. As for sillage, it’s okay: not bad, not outstanding, but acceptable. While wearing this one, I’ve received plenty of compliments. As mentioned before, it’s a mass appealing fragrance, you really can’t go wrong with it.

i was so prejudiced aginst this fragrance because of the people in social media always talks about it badly, so i was thinking that this was a perfume like swyi or eros but it definitely is not something like that, it's so simple yet smells fantastic really, it has linear line that scent does not change at all for around 6 hours, god this vanilla and lavender i really like it every time i smell it, think it's a perfume that is more suitable for young people but of course anyone can use it and rock it but i would especially recommend to younger generations. scent: 9/10 longevity: 8/10 sillage: 7/10 price: 5/10 overall: 7.5/10

Wonderful fragrance, but it's pretty linear, and mass appealing. Opens up with bright lavender that is softened by the vanilla, so it smells extremely smooth and sensual. You get the vetiver/woods towards the end of it, and it balances all of it out. It's a comforting scent, but also an attractive scent. I think anybody from pre-teens to even men in their 30s can appreciate this. Sillage is nice, but not crazy. Lasts about 8 hours on my skin, with projection being nice but not overwhelming within the first hour to two hours, after about hour 5-6 it becomes a skin scent, but you still catch whiffs throughout the day. 10/10

The lavender/vanilla opening blast is phenomenal and it does carry a nice fresh scent trail for about 10 minutes. Very clean lavender and french vanilla blend which is very clean and appealing but not exactly masculine. Unfortunately, the lavender goes away pretty fast and then its some leftover vanilla for a few minutes and finally a dry chex mix type of vetiver oil in the end. It is a very simple fragrance but worth trying. Fresh, clean, pleasant in most ways. A versatile, spray n go ready formula but after wearing it a few times, you tend to realize how synthetic it is, and it becomes much less appealing.

Tried it few months ago, decided to buy it , out of stock... My lovely girlfriend saw how i was into this fragrance and decided to surprise me with it. Now i have it and i got the chance to use it a few times. Opening feels fruity and the lavender is immediately noticeable which combined smells awesome. But in my opinion what makes this scent unique is the smooth transition from that lavender and fruity scent to that alluring vanilla which lasts almost forever. Also covers every occasion. Lovely fragrance but still not lovelier than my girlfriend. 10/10

I just picked this up today for 85$. Ive smelt it before once and tested it on paper so it wasn't really a blind buy, but i was excited to see how it works on skin. I think it’s amazing and definitely a safe blind buy if ur going to. Lasted 8+ hours and projected for around 5/6 hours. My best shout is that this works obviously for fall and winter but also for up until mid spring. Vanilla is quite strong on the dry down and the lavender opening was just perfect. Very youthful and something for a 17-25 year old fragrance. Overall very very cool, 9/10

Theres dupe that get 98% accurate to my nose. Its just 2% stronger / sweeter on the lavender. Its VELIXIR - PALADIN. I spray both on my left and right hand, I cant distinguish major differences, just on lavender. It makes me goosebump by how close they are. But sadly, that brand have major issue with stock availability and create price gouging among reseller. Theyre not like middle east company where they mass produce their product and it available across continent. I luckily got the 2ml tester after bought DEMETER (TORINO 21) dupes.

Okay, I finally get the hype. Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Intense is everything they say it is. It’s an incredibly sexy, smooth, and powdery scent, with a perfectly calibrated sweetness. Wearing it genuinely reminds me of that feeling—a sun-kissed hug on spring break. I snagged this because of the social media buzz, and I'm genuinely thanking the internet gods for the access. This scent is addictive. My only complaint is that I wish I could bask in its presence for longer than six hours. Verdict: 9/10—Essential status confirmed.

I had this fragrance and its amazing. I love it so much. I have niche and designer fragrances and its in my top3. I saw people call it a bit fresh but i can say its pure lavender and creamy vanilla. Linear in a good way. And perfromance is crazy for a desginer fragrance. It stays for 8-9 hours and first 4 hours sillage is amazing. I dont know the new version extradose and other flankers but i love this version. If you 18-25 years old you can use it as a daily, date night fragrance, go out fragrance you can use as everything.

Everyone’s said it, really nice predictable Lavender/Vanilla scent with some powdery woodsy base. On first impression it’s amazing, sweet but not too much, the scent is linear as stated, and performance starts out impressive but projection fades rather quickly with little evolution as it dries down to the more spicy woodsy base. I doubt I buy a bottle at its price after I get through my travel spray, although I will enjoy flying through it before it gets too hot. Maybe hype dies down and it gets more appropriately priced.

The color of the juice definitely evokes the way this smells; soft, sweet, playful, a bit fresh, sensual. Needless to say, I think Valentino nailed it with this one, even if this is considered linear. It's a lavender/vanilla bomb and stays consistent throughout. Longevity isn't an issue for me, I get 8-10 hours on average. Can't think of anything bad about BIR Intense, just an amazing fragrance all around. Maybe a bit too heavy for summer wear, but will work any other time of the year. 9.5/10, Linear done right!

Soft sophistication. To me its a great choice for summer (not beach-type summer, but a casual classy summer evening. Soft sophistication while having fresh elements). Absolutely not a a beach-summer fragrance, but more a soft-sophisticated fragrance that can be used during colder summer nights. Think sitting at an outdoor restaurant after the sun has gone down in 20 degrees celcius. I love it, but its a situational fragrance suited for specific occasions more than a daily-wear to me. Love-

Very mass appealing but linear designer scent. If you don't care about complexity in fragrances and just want to smell good, this one is for you. Valentino BIRI is a youthful scent containing soothing vanilla with refreshing lavender making it sweet but fresh enough to rock at almost any occasion. This fragrance doesn't fill the whole room but can draw the attention of the people close to you, the longevity lingers for around 5-6 hours before turning into a skin scent for me.

Overly mass appealing, but to my nose it is unique and addictive. It is strong, sticks on the skin the whole day, but is beautiful and not cloying. There is something like a spicy cherry accord that probably is a hidden fruity oil on there, maybe blackcurrant or any other dark cherry that I particularly love. The problem is that this combo of lavandin + dark vanilla can bring some overlaps in the collection, but for an affordable price, it is an amazing blind buy.

Simple, sweet, mass appealing scent with lavender, vanilla with some woody/earthy/spicy vetiver. it is versatile as long as you don't wear it when it's super hot as it could be cloying and too sweet. It has good performance as it is very long lasting and projects well, especially in the colder weather. For me personally I would think this is for younger guys especially teenagers but anybody can wear this. Overall a bit expensive but it's a great scent.

I get lots of lavender and vetiver of the top of this, the vanilla definitely hangs back a bit personally, but this is a 9/10 scent. Not incredibly remarkable or super unique, but damn does it do its job. I had been trying to get a bottle myself for almost a year and when I finally snagged one it was glorious. Not too sweet, a little woody, and very calm from the lavender. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a reliable daily

I got into the fragrance game pretty recently and I saw the hype on this so I decided to get it but the reviews on it aren't accurate at all, the lavender is very earthy with the vanilla being very subtle, the earthy velviter stays on throughout although it blends nicely, it also has huge projection with people across the room being able to smell it with three sprays. this fragrance is insanely strong, and it smells good.

This fragrance is so strong and sexy. I sampled this at a store and immediately nutted my pants to the scent. I wore it over to a small function and let’s say the boys got a little crazy. We ended up having a 28 person group orgi on the floor. Enough said Edit: 2 weeks later the smell is very fresh and strong when you first spray it on. But when it dries out I love the dry lavender smell it produces. Love this frag 10/10

Good in that it is masculine, without being *overly* masculine. It strikes a balance that I find women like. It's like being manly without being aggressive. I also find I like it, and there is a certain dark floral nature that I appreciate. A little sweet, but not too much. Probably not for winter nights or hot summer days, as its balance means that it is too much for the heat, and too little for very cold weather.

Such an amazing fragrance for romantic occasions and special events! Super well balanced, seductive and pleasantly aromatic. Was so impressed when i ordered a sample of it, that I bought it on the spot. If any of you have Initio Parfums' Narcotic Delight in your collection, you HAVE to try layering it with this! They go so so well together. Though of course, this is a more than beautiful scent all on it's own!

The best valentino ever created. It is a very simple, addicting, mass appealing scent. Super blind buy safe, and it shows. There is pretty much no way to dislike this. It is fresh, with the beautiful lavender radiating through the day when you put it on, also having some crazy versatility game, just less summer oriented. I personally love this fragrance, as well as a lot of other people. Easy 9.2/10

Once again, a great Valentino. Feel like the entire Born in Roma line is amazing, each scent being different and quite appealing. This one is a bit bolder than the original Born in Roma. It is a very nice combo of lavender and vanilla, almost a candied vanilla for me. It is a strong, mass appealing scent, that is a great winter/clubbing scent. One of my favorites in my winter rotation. 9/10 for me

On my skin, I don’t get much vetiver, it’s just a good vanilla bed with a delicious lavender on top. Very sweet without leaning gourmand, and leans masculine without the classic “barbershop” notes. Absolutely amazing, in my opinion, and surprisingly versatile climate-wise. Performance is good, and it’s very noticeable without too much risk of becoming overwhelming if you go hard on the sprays.

Ağır ama rahatsız etmeyecek bir şekilde, lavanta ve vanilya ile açılış yapıyor. Lavanta baskın olduğu için vanilyayı az hissedebiliyorsunuz. Dip notada vetiver çok uyumlu olmuş. Sadece biraz basit bir koku, geçişlerde zenginlik yok ama (bence) gerek de yok. Ağır başlı, sakin ve ciddiyeti olan bir koku... Yaz sıcağında bunaltır. Soğuk ya da serin havalarda tercih edilebilir.

Great for cooler weather but is overall pretty versatile. Smells amazing the vanilla and lavender go great with each other. Mine projects and lasts a long time, at least 8 hours. I'm a bit younger and I feel this appeals to younger people more but still smells amazing. Works great for anything except when it's a little bit too warm outside and like sports.

Like Extradose, but more vanilla forward. Not a heavy scent, easy to wear. Projection/longevity definitely weaker than Extradose, kinda disappointing performance from the scent profile. But smells really good. I got the Extradose as I think it smells similar but with better performance and much more versatile.

The most beautiful, light powdery lavender but sweet and rich without being thick. Not much else going on with such a simple note breakdown. Smells amazing, most everyone will love this scent. This can be worn on most any occasion, any season since it’s light in the air and not thick minus a 90°F+ summer day.

I love this scent but it is absolutely a cold weather endeavor. In warm weather this one gets cloying and overly sweet FAST. If you aren’t a fan of sweet scents I would steer clear, but if you are (and you wear them in the winter) then this is a 10/10. One of my most complimented fragrances easily.

This is a very nice smooth vanilla lavender fragrance. This combination is amazing, definetely could be a signature scent for some, it used to be my signature fragrance. Very solid fragrance with very good performance. This is a compliment magnet. If they added iris in this it would be 10x better.

So I bought this cologne because I have valentinos coral fantasy, and I heard this was their other banger one. Well I bought it, and it lives up to the hype. It doesn’t last nearly as long as coral fantasy on me, but it’s still an amazing gem of a cologne. 10/10, worth every penny in my opinion!

This is a very nice lavender and vanilla fragrance that gets me tons of compliments. I would say this is a great winter fragrance but I could also see this being worn during spring. The lavender note stands out a lot and I love it. Super mass appealing, great fragrance for a night out.

Its a smooth blend of creamy, high quality vanilla with a bright floral lavender note. Its simple but it does everything perfectly, its really a great fragrance and its an addictive yet simple one that I will repurchase for sure as Im almost complete with my first bottle. 9.5/10

My skin makes things smell more citrusy and for some reason my siblings think that this smells like hand sanitizer on me but both my exes really liked it and said it smelled good on me over all I really like it very strong but what do I know absolutely recommend.

Update: still the best fragrance to ever touch my nose. So well blended, and it single-handedly proves that simplicity carries elegance. Masterpiece 10/10. You will find yourself addicted and coming back to it for every night out.

I have had it for a while, and its a very safe vanilla lavender fragrance. Fits in the line very well. Longevity is actuallty a little bit dissapointing but its still very solid. It is a very solid school fragrance too imo.
