Valentino Uomo Born In Roma Yellow Dream

This is easily one of my new favorites in my collection. Right off the bat, I immediately notice base similarities to Most Wanted Intense EDP. The general profile of sweet and spicy yet bright and fresh are very comparable (I think it's a prominent cardamom note that gives them this brightness in the spice accord, but I'm not sure). The pineapple and orange in Yellow Dream with the addition of ginger sets it apart, and in a completely different direction, but I can't help but to notice the base similarities. It's also fairly versatile, and fits right in during any season, day or night, except for very hot weather. The ability for this fragrance to boast itself as being inoffensive, fruity, warm, sexy, and uplifting all at once is a rare find, and is about as mass-appealing as you can get for this kind of profile. Unlike many other fragrances with pineapple, the note is not overpowering or synthetic, and blends in well with the rest of the ingredients. In the dry-down you start to get some of the vanilla and cedar, which further soften the lingering fruit and spices. Also I'm not sure if it's just me, but the dry-down of this reminds me bit of Eros Flame, as that's a fragrance heavy with vanilla and cedar. Not that these two are comparable at all, but it's just something I noticed. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the far dry-down as the vanilla and cedar just smells kinda generic and don't contribute much to the overall profile, but by that point you don't have much projection anyway so it's not a big deal. Overall it's an amazing and sexy fragrance, performance is okay but nothing crazy. It projects well, especially in warmer weather, but it doesn't last all that long. However, that shouldn't stop anyone from buying this. 9/10, big recommend from me.

While I am not a fan of most of the Born in Romas (I find some of them absolutely sickeningly sweet; truly nauseating type shit), I’m not gonna say it’s a bad line. It’s very popular, I’m just in the minority. Regardless, Yellow Dream stands out as a damn BANGER like none of the other members of this line. What a unique scent! Never in my life would I have guessed pineapple, gingerbread, and vanilla would combine so well. Especially as a summer fragrance! Somehow, they did it. Off the rip, you get this super sweet and juicy pineapple with a gourmand, bready gingerbread and spices that seriously kicks ass. That gingerbread note is so unique and odd looking on paper, but it just WORKS here. It isn’t cloying at all. The best imagery I can give here is if you were eating a pineapple upside down cake on a warm day. It’s hot out, but that fruity, cakey desert in front of you wafts with the wind. Almost like a bakery on a beachside dock. Everything is smoothed out with a little touch of vanilla and rounded in masculinity with cedar. Overall, I have very few complaints. This will be a fire pick in the summer for me, but you can easily get away with this in the winter at the same time. Only negative is, like with other Valentinos, it doesn’t last super long. I’d give full longevity a 5-6 hour mark. Projects real nice for an hour and a half or so. Regardless, it’s cheap, so feel free to respray. Definitely recommend this if you love any sort of ginger or cinnamon notes. So unique and blended wonderfully.

just got this in and the first impressions are really great. TLDR: unique warm spicy and tropical fruity fragrance, gingerbread and pineapple, valentino's twist on the swy dna. good year rounder and has signature fragrance potential. leans unisex. i traded for this on a facebook group and picked it up literally a few hours ago. i remember opening the package as soon as i picked it up, lifting the cap and being REALLY impressed. a combination of candied pineapple with a spicy backbone, something very new to my nose. opening focuses completely on the warmth and spiciness of gingerbread, i got no pineapple here. the ginger really pierces your nose, but you get a sweet, sugary note which balances it out. after ~30 minutes the pineapple starts talking, and it does wonders! again, pineapple and spicy gingerbread isnt a combination i thought i'd be smelling too soon but it really impressed me. i've always loved fruity perfumes. ultra male, montblanc legend, spicebomb infrared and so on. if you're a fan of these, yellow dream is definitely worth giving a shot. probably not the best in the whole bir line, but it's definitely more unique and versatile than the others. if you see it at the mall or something, try it out! could open your horizons.

I started the Born in Roma series, which I have been curious about for a long time, with one of the least popular ones. I bought a bottle with a blind buy. I can clearly distinguish all the notes in the perfume. When I first tried it, the scent of gingerbread cookies clearly came to my nose. It opens with a burst of ginger. But as time goes by, it gives way to a more wearable sweetness. A sweetness blended with just enough spice and freshness from ginger. I don't remember smelling a perfume like this before. This may of course be due to my limited scent repertoire. I think it's an interesting choice that can be used in all seasons. However, it's quite difficult to use this scent in very cold weather. Unfortunately, the distinct beauty of the scent is not accompanied by a strong performance. Apart from that, it can be easily used under any situation and condition. If you are looking for a different, fun, not too complicated and universally palatable perfume, you are in the right place.

Valentino Uomo Born in Roma Yellow Dream is easily my all-time favorite and without a doubt my signature scent. From the first spray, it hits you with a beautiful mix of sweet, fruity, and citrus notes that feel bright and uplifting. There’s a warm spicy touch with cinnamon that blends perfectly into a smooth vanilla base, giving it that cozy yet fresh balance. You also pick up a slight woody and fresh spicy vibe that keeps it from being too sweet, making it incredibly well-rounded. What really makes this fragrance stand out to me is how versatile it is. I can wear this year-round—day or night—and it never feels out of place. Whether it’s hot or cold, dressed up or casual, it just works every time. On top of that, this is a certified compliment puller. Every time I wear it, someone says something, and that just adds to why I keep reaching for it. Overall, this is an A+ scent in my book. If you’re looking for something mass appealing, versatile, and signature scent worthy, this is it.

This fragrance took me off guard. When I originally smelled it in stores I thought it was pretty good but nothing special really. My gf ended up getting me a bottle of it since she really loved it and after wearing it a few times, this massively grew on me. It's a weird mix of that dryer sheet freshness, while still having a good amount of sweetness and spices. This to me is really weird, but in the most amazing way possible. It takes that basic fresh dna that we all know, and just gives it a beautiful sweet twist. Currently 19 degrees outside and it smells great, but I also feel like this will be an amazing summer date night scent or even a signature scent honestly. I was not expecting this profile to be so versatile but damn... overall I would give this a strong 9.5/10, with the only thing holding this back is the longevity. For me I get a solid 6-8 hours with it being a skin scent after 5. Great projection for the first 2 hours or so tho.

First things first - this smells like a woman's perfume top to bottom. No ifs ands or buts if scents had a gender this one would be female. If you don't think so you're kidding yourself. There's nothing wrong with a man wearing a womens scent this is just for men who don't want to smell like a woman. Anyway- Shocking to say this but I expected this to be sweeter. It's not bad and this is just my first impression. Yet another pineapple forward fragrance that I don't pick up pineapple in. Maybe my pineapple senses are off or something but geez...anyway, it's basic. I'd wear it but I'm not wow'd and I don't need a full bottle. When my sample runs out, I probably wont ever think about it again. Very spicy but it has a strong perfumey potpouri - ish vibe. MEH. It's okay. Reminds me of Million Gold 2024, not a compliment.

The first Valentino fragrance I've ever tried, which kind of got me hooked on Valentino fragrances in general. This is a sweet, fruity, fun scent that works for the summer time. To me this absolutely goes perfectly on a man or a woman equally. Projection is great, longevity is amazing for a summer fragrance. In my opinion this could be year round fragrance. I got it as a 15ML bottle, I can assure you - once I'll finish this bottle, I'm getting a full bottle. Edit - I've refrained from buying a full bottle even though I'm almost out of my travel bottle I got. Not because it's a bad fragrance, but I've started leaning towards more experimental, more nuanced fragrances, and this doesn't really hold a candle to stuff like Amouage's Interlude Black Iris in terms of complexity and uniqueness.

Smells great, but I’m reluctant to say I love it—mainly because most of the fragrances in the Valentino line smell extremely similar. The only exceptions are Greenstravaganza and Coral Fantasy. I do pick up some mandarin, and especially the gingerbread and vanilla. It has that extra sweet, syrupy profile that defines the entire Valentino men’s line. I just don’t think this particular profile does enough to set it apart the way the coffee note and red apple/tobacco do in Greenstravaganza and Coral Fantasy, respectively. That said, I’ll probably still add a bottle to my collection soon. It has excellent performance, especially for an EDT, and I think it’s a wonderful spring fragrance in particular. If I could smell more of the pineapple, this could be an all-timer.

This fragrance caught me by surprise. I hadn't read any notes when I tried it in store, so I was expecting a freshie and, during the first 20 minutes, that is what I thought I was getting. It was a lovely pineapple and citrus opening. However, then it all changes! It turns into a lovely fresh spicy scent, then the ginger notes kick in, and it becomes a warm spicy, ginger, slightly sweet treat. The mid is absolutely stunning, sweet, spicy and an abundance of ginger. If you don't like ginger, this may not be for you, as it's the strongest note in this fragrance, but it is crafted superbly, mixing ginger with sweet ginger and other spices. I have quite a few spicy fragrances, but none are like Yellow Dream, and I will be adding it to my collection soon.

This fragrance is GOLD In BOTTLE !! Before everything i want to say: I was concern about gingerbread, i didn't found any trace of it - it doesnt smell like any gingerbread. Maybe is mixed with the sweetness of the vanilla and spices. I have a lot of compliments with this fragrance, even in summer and winter. MY GF like it the most over Spicebomb extreme. This is Warm Spicy & Smoky Pineapple, & fresh mandarin in the opening, I like the Vanilla in it, is done very well with the woods they compliment each other not fighting against. My opinion is Valentino is better than Stronger with You, and more unique! First 1.5 very very good projection then becomes skin scent, but again very noticeable, on clothes can stay 12 hours. Classic/Modern Fragrance 9.5/10

Such a nice fragrance. I genuinely believe this can be worn year round. winter, summer everything in between. Maybe not the freezing days of winter, but a nice day sure. I get the pineapple and ginger in the opening, which I think is heavenly. I don't think it's for everyone, but judging by the reviews on this site, I think a lot of people like it. Personally my favorite out of the BIR lineup easily. opens with the pineapple and ginger, and from there I get spices, which I can't make out exactly, but I definitely get the vanilla and woodyness in the bottom. Usually I'd hate the wood, but with the spices and even the pineapple/ginger staying in the mid and dry down, I really like it up and down. A 9/10 in my books

Starts off smelling like sweet, freshly cut pineapple, and evolves into a light, cozy gingerbread smell. 10/10 Some additional thoughts: Its projection is not too strong, but the performance is good. Use an extra spray or two and you will be good to go. It smells much better in the air than smelling directly on skin. In the air it's very soft, sweet, and comforting. On the skin, it smells harsh and chemically. I constantly catch whiffs in the air for several hours while wearing it, and the smell is incredible. One of the most versatile scents I've smelled. Although Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme has a different scent, it's very comparable with Yellow Dream in its all-year-round versatility.

At first, I didn't really like it, it was collecting dust. Then I tried it again 6 months later, and man, this stuff is amazing. Really reminds me of the Christmas time and the whole vibe of it. (partially because I got this as a secret santa gift for Christmas) It really puts you into that holiday mood. With some fragrances, you can tell apart the notes and all of that, but with this one I truly cannot. It is so well blended. The official Valentino website states notes of cinnamon, lavender and vanilla, and I feel like those are more accurate than on fragrantica. I love this stuff, gatekeep worthy. Lasts good, and projects not the best, but apart from that its amazing. 8.5/10

Sweet enough to make me second-guess what the users are smoking to wear this in the blaze of summer. Amazing right from the opener. Top notes rapidly blend into a mildly warm spiciness. It has some weird mixture of cinnamon/gingerbread that makes me think this might work as a daily driver for the holiday season. Originally bought a tester because the internet assured me this was going to be a pineapple scent. Instead I got a gourmand fruitcake that someone whispered the word "pineapple" at gently, then did a 180 on me and whipped out a crushed gingerbread house to my nose. Really the only bad thing I can say about this little hidden gem is that its longevity is very poor.

This is a fragrance that just by looking at the notes I would have passed. I recently got a decent of this and it’s wonderful, it’s a great summer time fragrance. It’s not overly sweet and not very spicy to my nose which I prefer. Longevity is solid but sillage is mehhh. To me the opening is a little loud but it settles down fairly quick, projects well the first 2-3 hours and then sits pretty close on fabric but it lingers, 6-7 hours after putting it on I would get random whiffs of it but kind of faintly. A solid 7.5/10 for me, I really enjoy this one and it’s a great dumb reach fragrance that’s a little different from the fresh citrus fragrances.

The best one in the Born In Roma line, and it's not really even close. People complain about the name, about it being a ripoff from the SWY (it's most definitely not), and try to gatekeep it. But damn, this is an incredible fragrance - sweet, versatile, absolutely beautiful. Wear it day or night, summer or winter. It's fresh enough to pull off during spring and summer (mostly spring), yet sweet and rich enough to pull off during fall and winter. I got a full 100 ml tester for about €65 and it was a very good deal for the local standard. If you can find it for a similar price or less, don't hesitate, it's worth it.

This smells great! I don’t know if the bad reviews are genuine, or if it’s just people attempting to gatekeep. I understand that opinions toward fragrances are subjective, but to say this stinks; you are out of your mind. The dry down is where this one shines. It’s kind of a citrus bomb up front but that really mellows out and turns into a sweet pineapple scent. Perfect for the summer. With any fragrance over $100, put your nose on it before buying it. But if you like sweet aromatic fragrances, I don’t think you would be disappointed blind buying it. 8.7/10!

This is a great Fragrance when it comes to practicality. It’s an all year around fragrance. You open up with pineapple and mandrin with a smooth vanilla that makes it so fitting for both hot and cold weather. The spice from the ginger and gingerbread gives it more backbone to be a cold or a great summer night out fragrance. Would recommend for someone who seek a signature fragrance that will make people acknowledge your presence of sweet goodness. A Sicilian man that owns a triumph motorcycle would 120% wear something like this.

Yep, smells just like Azzaro The Most Wanted EDP it's almost insane. The only difference is that Azzaro is a deeper scent, darker, richer, the spice is "wet" and Yellow Dream's spice is "dry". Anyway, this is Incredibly sweet, the pineapple doesn't scream pineapple it just screams "syrup". I also wish the gingerbread was stronger, I think that would've made it stand out. I like it because I like The Most Wanted... I'd rather have The Most Wanted, so there's the dilemma. The average nose could absolutely not tell the difference.

Off the spray, you get that pineapple and gingerbread accord that makes it really versatile for all seasons. However, I have an issue with the longevity. Projection is a little above decent while sillage is somewhat weak. Drydown is a little linear in my opinion, however, I still think it's a great fragrance, but maybe only for intimate/ casual events. The pineapple is great, not synthetic, while all the other notes accompany it well. Overall, 8/10. A little overhyped, but a great fragrance overall.

A woodsy/citrus scent. Starts off strong but dries down more intimate. Initial smell on my skin is a heavy citrus, lemon/orange, with wood undertones. Dries into a very nice gingerbread, cinnamon smell with vanilla notes; would be beautiful in the fall time. After a couple hours it mellows out into a warm sweet scent, definitely keeps that gingerbread and vanilla notes, but the citrus comes back as well. Was not expecting to like it as much as i do, definitely better than the original Uomo on me.

Truly the best Valentino fragrance in my opinion. Its such a versatile cologne that can be used in the summer and even the winter. I love how beautifully blended gingerbread and pineapple notes blended together its what has convinced me when I run out of my original bottle to buy another bottle. My only problem with yellow dream is it lacks silage but other than that a truly fantastic cologne and so under-rated. My rating Bottle:10/10 Smell:7/10 Longevity:6/10(5h+) Projection:5/10

I recently purchased this for my husband and I loveee it. It smells like a sexy gourmand pineapple gingerbread with amazing sillage. We went walking around the local Christmas Market and I kept getting wafts of it throughout the whole evening which is pretty impressive for an Eau de Toilette. Not going to lie, I was a little upset it was overpowering my perfume but I will make an exception for this one (jk). Highly recommend! Also you can find it at a reasonable price for 100ml.

I enjoyed this sweet and fresh fragrance with a good amount of spice, I'm not a fan of the Born in Roma line overall but this one sticks out as a unique and different fragrance in the line and is almost perfect for all seasons apart from maybe the coldest days but overall it is extremely versatile and a very impressive scent it lasts as long as an average designer fragrance with the same projection, my only negative about this fragrance is that I don't have more of it.

C'est un super bon parfum sucré, épicé et un peu fruité. Mais je trouve qu'il n'est pas super pour les journées chaudes d'été. Avec la chaleur, l'odeur peut devenir écrasante. Pour les performances,il a une longévité correct et une bonne protection. Pour l'odeur, j'ai de l'ananas pendant une minute et après il sent comme un pain d'épices En résumé c'est un très bon parfum pour les soir d'été,pour sentir unique 8,5/10 (Très belle bouteille et bouchon)

“For Men”, but is my most complimented scent. The number of people who would come in close and smell me with hearts in their eyes was astronomical. Someone at work told me they wanted to follow me around all day just to smell me. Absolutely perfect sexy fruity spicy scent. Pineapple heavy at first spray, and as it dries the sweetness stays, but the spice becomes the prevalent note. Ginger and vanilla, warm and welcoming, heavy and cozy.

This is an amazing smelling fragrance personally i think it's one of the best in the Born in Roma line, I bought it at a discounted price and i do not regret it, it has this really sexy fruity smell and dries down to an amazing vanilla scent. I believe this is a hidden jem as no one ever talks about it. The only downside is that its longetivity on skin is not as good as i hoped, but on clothes it can easily last for days. 8/10

I hope people keep hating on this fragrance to keep the price down but people are finally catching on and giving it the respect this fragrance deserves. The best way to describe this fragrance is pretty much a fresh, pineapple infused version of Stronger With You. If you're a fan of SWY but live in mostly hot weather then this is a perfect fragrance to wear. 10/10 one of the best in the line.

honestly this would've been the best fragrance i could ask for, if only it had better sillage and longevity... a solid 9/10 for me, best summer or warm season fragrance that i ever had, smells incredibly sweet and intoxicating, very strong and natural pineapple & orange scent with vanilla which makes it super sweet, but at the same time it's not offensive. i would absolutely buy another.

Very moderate scent that could honestly be worn in any season on the right occasion. Initially the bright pineapple on the opening shouts spring summer, but the warm spicy woody smell of the dry down is a super comforting and cozy type of scent that is more fall maybe winter fragrance. For some reason im drawn to wear this every time it rains so id say most clear cut as a spring scent.

Very pleasant fragrance, on me it starts with a zesty, a bit sour pineapple but just in the right proportions, you can feel the base notes lingering in the opening then it transitions into a spicy vanilla scent. Yellow dream is one of my favourite valentinos because it's so easy to wear and you can get many compliments with it. Easily lasts me 6 hours on skin and 10+ hours on clothes.

The most underrated out of the line. Super sweet pineapple with ginger spice, opening reminds me of Azzaro TMW parfum, probably because of the ginger and vanilla. Anyway, Yellow Dream is a super safe and smooth tropical summer frag, but the fresh parts of it keep it not too cloying. Doesn't deserve the hate it gets as being the worst Valentino and not bad longevity for a edt.

My favourite fragrance. The gingerbread + pineapple combo makes it so versatile and easy to wear and honestly performs well on my skin. Unique and sweet scent for a relatively inexpensive price. It does smell very sweet from the opening but it smells so good on the drydown I hope this fragrance stays as under the radar as it can. Scent 9/10 Performance 7/10 Longevity 7/10

I bought this as my second Valentino, I think it's really underrated and also overhated. Pretty unique smell, but nothing really special to be honest. I'd give it like a 7.5/10. Perfect for office wear, but I wouldn't imagine anyone over 25 wearing this. People say it's an all year round fragrance but personally I'd definitely wear it for autumn.

Finally this fragrance is beginning to get the recognition it very much deserves. This is a beautiful signature that can be worn year round. A fresh fragrance that cuts through the cold air in winter with that ginger note. This instantly puts me in a good mood when I spray it on. My 50ml bottle dwindling so definitely getting a 100ml next!

Sweet, warm spicy and intoxicating. I definitely prefer this to the original. The name and the bottle put me off a little so I didn’t think I was going to like it but I don’t want to stop smelling it. Inoffensive but stands out. I’d wear this all seasons day and night. Suitable for work but very sexy. I like it, I really like it.

a spectacular cologne. tropical meets spicy. the pineapple, vanilla and gingerbread blend together surprisingly well. it doesn't project much. it becomes a skin cent quite quicky, but that's alright in my opinion. because this is very much a scent that would be extremely cloying to most noses if it projected a lot

My favourite from the line. To me its pretty unisex and extremely versatile. This can be worn any weather, any time of year, day or night. Yet its still extremely unique. Only letdown is the performance. Its good, just not phenomenal. Wait for discounts, I got 50ml in boots for £35. 9/10

I love this fragrance with all my heart , even though I bought it when I was ill with Covid-19 & I could barely smell it properly. When I recovered and smelled the real deal I was shocked from this masterpiece Pineapple & Ginger Bread are perfect notes and they blend very well 9/10 MD

Truly, a beautifully delicious spicy and fruity mix, that feels like a gingerbread paradise in your nose. Exquisite and elegant, also seductive, I love it. Only caveat? The sillage is moderate to low, and the duration isn't as good as I'd like (on my skin, its from 3-4 hours).

I have quite a few fragrances and this one is the only one that when first sprayed on my wife goes wow that’s nice. A beautiful pineapple opening with a nice cinnamon and gingerbread dry down . Just wish that it would last longer. 9/10, would be a 10 if it lasted longer

My first real designer fragrance. I’ve have a bottle that I got for my freshman hoco and I’m graduating in 3 months. I still use this fragrance almost every day. I love it so much. It holds a special place in my heart as the start of my fragrance journey.

So I bought this one because I really liked how it looked, and I love the smell of pineapple. Well I got it, and I’m not disappointed. That ginger in it gives it a weird spice that oddly works! 20/10, this is an amazing scent that overlooked!

Man this reminds me of something I had in the 2000s as a kid that I've been struggling to remember the name of. It was a yellow bottle, not ck one, not d&b dolcetto, but the bottle looked like those. If anyone knows the fragrance, please lmk

At first after i blind bought this cologne I did not know how to feel but after a couple of wears and using it as a layering combo it really sits nice with buljarmi next level. They both are ginger based and mix smoothly moving up my ranks.

Such a unique and massively underrated fragrance. One of the best smelling colognes in my collection which gets me tons of compliments. A little pricy but can definitely pick up on a discounter. I recommend a pickup, you won’t regret it.

It smells a little like myslf of swy with a fresher touch. The cinnamon and pineapple are a very pleasing duo of notes. Doesent last very well but smells amazing. Perfect for warm-hot days at work, school, or just anything really hot

This is a very well blended scent. Its like a gingerbread/ginger, orange (ish), and citrus scent. I would say this fragrance is a very good SOTD if its hot out. I havent really tested the perfornace or longevity but i love the scent.

Didn't like it in the past, now i do. First of all it's smelles really good, the smell is super versatile and it gets ton of compliments. Plus it's has nice performance overall For me it's one of the best in the born in Roma line
