I, as a beginner into fragrances did the worst thing you could ever do, I only know the smell of maybe 5 fragrances in total, 3 that I used to wear in middle school and 2 the I’ve smelt recently (SWY Intensly, ADG profondo). I saw that this was hyped a lot and considered to be the best Valentino fragrance for men, it has a high rating and I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about it however I did see a multitude of people warn others NOT to blind buy this due to the iris note, but I did exactly that, I blind bought it. AND I DO NOT REGRET IT WHATSOEVER, for any other beginners, you’ll smell the lip sticky make up bag type smell everyone speaks about, it’s definitely there but I guess I just don’t mind it. You get an immediate blast of mandarin I think it is in the opening but that goes away in legit like 2 minutes and then the iris takes over straight away. Now I don’t know what most of the notes listed smell like (apart from the vanilla) but man o man the dry down bro, this feels like such a W for me that I fell to my knees after smelling this in the dry down. Now I will say, I guess I just don’t mind the smell of lip stick or make up if that’s what iris smells like, but if that type of smell is something you don’t like then I, like everyone else, would recommend you to test this out before buying it. It was just sheer luck I guess that I ended up liking this scent profile and I can’t guarantee that it’ll be like this for everyone else. But damn ts so gooooooood

This is my ride or die scent for sure. When the colder days of the year come, my body just lights a fuse and I bathe myself in VUI. It is like an addiction, a need at this point of my life. People can say it smells more synthetic compared to Dior Homme Intense (which I completely adore and kill for) but the hell it is. This smells so natural, so comfortable and so sexy on my skin that I want to rizz myself in the mirror, haha. All my friends and people I met at any point in my life match this scent with me directly and it is such a beautiful thing to be associated to such a great fragrance. Because it is inoffensively beautiful and a statement fragrance. It is artsy, it is confident, it is sexy, it is humble and it is so well blended, it is everything that I associate my personality with. Psychologically, I blended this fragrance into my private life so much that I can't even force myself to wear this scent to work or everyday occasions. Perfect date night/special occasion and self-care fragrance. -Longevity is really good, 8-10 hours on skin, 4ever on clothes: 8 -Sillage is loud to well projecting, not filling a room, not offensive: 9 The scent profile is to me, an iris lover: 9 (not real orris root and synthetic iris like 99% of all iris fragrances). But the leatheriness, the musk, the sexiness, just otherworldly. All things considered, this is a 10/10.

Valentino Uomo Intense 2021 is quite frankly, a masterpiece of modern masculine perfumery and the olfactory experience I didn’t expect to fall in love with so completely. What truly surprised me was how such creamy and powdery elements could radiate this level of raw masculine seduction. With Dior tragically changing formulating the legendary Dior Homme line and stripping it of its former hypnotic, erotic charm, Valentino Uomo Intense 2021 now stands as the closest heir to that legacy. Honestly, I believe every man should own this fragrance in his personal collection. it’s that powerful, that essential, and it’s absolutely perfect for an informal date where you want to leave a lasting impression. If you’ve been yearning for that intoxicating aura Dior once offered, this fragrance is not just a worthy substitute, it’s a revelation. I’d rate it 7.1 out of 10.

Like most frag heads, I got a couple Prada L'homme bottles early into the hobby since it is GOAT'd. That's where I found my love for iris. I bought a bottle of the new Born In Roma Intense a couple weeks ago and stumbled upon this old discontinued version (2021) while poking around the Valentino lineup. I found a local Nordstrom that had it in stock. I went as soon as possible to try it out. It was love at first sniff. I think my words were, "oh God that's good." I told the clerk I would take the last two bottles on the shelve and he laughed. I am going to say it... it is better than Prada L'Homme Intense.. and I have a 2018 bottle. Now, I do not own any Dior scents, so I cannot compare it to them, but the iris in this one is oh so good. So good. I am not sure if it is the leather or if I cannot even detect the leather, but I think it blends in so well with the iris. It is so warm, smooth, and a tiny bit heavy. It is not too dressed up. I wear it with a nice joggers and a hoodie. I was going to try to buy up a few more Prada Intense bottles before they are gone forever, but I think I am going to grab another two of these. Also, it is borderline beast mode. I do two or three sprays on my neck and I pick it up easily 6 hours later. Dirt cheap compared to everything else right now too.

A smooth, sweet, yet very masculine scent. Starts off with a bright, smooth, powdery iris, and evolves into this creamy, dark, vanilla scent mixed with soft leather. Maintains just the right amount of sweetness throughout – not so much that it's cloying or obnoxious, but enough to keep it interesting and pleasant. I personally love it not only because it smells so luxurious, but also because it is so unusually strong, without being loud and in your face. I've come to appreciate colognes with this aspect (a few other colognes I've tried like V&R SpiceBomb Extreme, and TF Noir Extreme Parfum share this aspect). It lasts extremely long as well, and you will constantly smell it on yourself in the air throughout the day. All that with only 2 sprays, which convinced me that it's very strong, although, perhaps it also helps that the sprayer delivers a very generous amount each spray. Overall one of my favorites! I'm sure it's not for everyone, as some people prefer less sweet colognes, louder colognes, or other notes. But if this is the type of cologne you enjoy, this is one of the best out there in this genre. For anyone curious, I have a 2023 batch.

Easily one of the best designer releases out there. Powdery iris center-stage and balanced gracefully. Slight lipstick. The mandarin up top is a unique touch, decently bright and very smooth. It fades cleanly into the base after an hour or so. Don't think they could have picked a better citrus. Oddly, I don't particularly pinpoint a heart in this composition. Either that or its dismissably subtle. The (slightly animalic) leather gives it some edge without turning harsh, and the saccharine vanilla keeps it rounded, and powdery sweet. Think Dior Homme Intense as the genesis, with the deviations leading to a more wearable and less heavy, "cosmetic products" result. Performance is solid for this style. I get about 7 hours on skin with 2-3 hours of noticeable projection. Bottle looks just as good as it smells - classy and masculine. Overall, it's refined, confident, and has that magnetic pull without trying too hard. And dont get me started on the value. Fantastic. A final note, caution if you will: If you look the part whilst using this - you WILL be irresistible. They simply cannot help it. Use responsibly. I mean that.

People compare this to DHI, but I don’t really know why. DHI I see as a very much darker smelling scent. One I would only use for a date night out getting dinner with the gf or a formal even in the cold weather, I sprayed Uomo intense on going to dinner meeting with friends mid day. It’s a sweet playful Iris, more versatile than DHI. I’d compare it to Dior Homme 2011 .... But that includes cocoa. Either way. Uomo Intense is similar but not the same as Dior Homme Intense. If you only want one Iris fragrance okay. But Imo if you like Iris scents that having this too is def worth it. The opening is gorgeous, the dry down is nice and silage is moderate when first sprayed. It lasts a long time on skin and especially clothes too. Personally I love it, my second favorite iris Fragrance behind DHI bc it’s darker. 9.5/10 Side Note: Some other Iris fragrances I have are Dior Homme 2011, Givenchy Gentleman Boisee, Gentleman Reserve Privee, (had) Valentino Uomo 2021, I enjoy them all. After getting into fragrances I like wearing Iris literally just bc I love the way it smells.

Great stuff! The iris and the leather give it class, while the other notes give it sweetness and slight spiciness and freshness to balance out the mixture. The iris, leather, and sweetness are easily detectable, although not overwhelming, whereas the other notes are more subtle to my nose. Perhaps this balance from the added notes is what Dior Homme Intense is missing. I tried DHI in store a few times, I tried to like it, but I found it too heavy on the iris. VUI reminds me of the original Armani Code, the older formulation (bought my code bottle in 2012). Maybe due to the leather and tonka. I also remember code being powdery, maybe it had iris in it as well, despite that note not being listed. I haven't tried VUI outside, only wore it at home, so I can't give an accurate description of performance other than to say it appears to be good. It's more geared towards night time use in colder weather, for a formal occasion or a date. However, the sweetness gives it more versatility so reallistically you can wear it during the day or for casual use in winter or fall.

As many may know, this fragrance has recently been reformulated due to Valentino being acquired by L’Oréal. As somebody who has used both formulations, these are my brief thoughts on the two versions. The older bottles (Puig version) can be distinguished from the newer ones (L’Oréal) by looking at the collar. With the newer formulation you will find a spiked, studded design on the collar whereas the collar on the older bottles is smooth. The newer bottle also now comes with a cap (which is a huge bonus) As for the juice itself, yes it has been reformulated, but it certainly has not been ruined! The two are very similar honestly, and if I had to describe the difference, I’d say the newer bottles are slightly sweeter, and with even better performance. The Puig formulation comes across a bit more masculine in the opening. Both versions are worth buying, but if I had to choose, I’d say that L’Oréal has honestly IMPROVED on this already great fragrance by Valentino. No need to hunt down an old bottle of this stuff if you are interested in purchasing!!

I really like this one, good iris note not chewy or chunky but it is there. The opening is clean fresh with a sweet iris note. The iris never really leaves but the other fresh notes do after a while. There is sweetness but it is not overpowering it is well balanced. Towards the drydown you start to get wood notes a faint trace of leather but not very noticeable. What I liked the most is the clean iris note with the hints of vanilla. It is not a heavy fragrance, I was expecting a heavier sweeter designer. This is not that it is very well blended, nice and smooth but very present. It projects very well for the first 1-2 hrs, it starts to get close to skin and stays for around 8-9 hours. It does have similarities to DHI but they are different fragrances. So out of the three heavy iris fragrances which one is my favorite: At number: 1. Dior Homme intense 2. Valentino uomo intense 3. Givenchi reserve privee All three are great and like them very much but there are things they do different. In reality you can’t go wrong

I bought a bottle of this and wore it for 3 weeks straight. It's pure class. The best iris in my collection; definitely not too "clean". I don't get the orange top note on my skin, but it's the perfect iris & leather for me. So many DHI vs. VUI discussions. DHI is an absolute goat, VUI is just a bit more rough-around-the-edges. DHI is the well-groomed successful GQ brother who wears a tailored suit, cuff links with a tie clip, and manages the family stock portfolio. VUI is the scruffy brother who pulls up to family dinner with a girl in fishnet stockings and smeared lipstick on the back of an old Harley chopper...but he still hugs Mom before pissing on the front lawn. I agree with other reviewers that this is suitable in any occasion. I've worn this to daytime business conferences, packed nightclubs, and family functions (I claim no connection to either brother above). I will attempt wearing this well into the Florida spring, and see just how far I can push it temp-wise. 8/10

When I first sprayed it on, I wasn’t partial to the powdery quality of this fragrance, but after a few hours, the dark leather takes over and it becomes more masculine. Being a big fan of Antaeus Pour Homme which, in my opinion, is one of the best masculines out there, I was concerned that Valentino Uomo Intense would be too floral and feminine considering the prominent iris note....but the iris is ultimately subdued and made cleanly masculine by the leather and patchouli. The mandarin orange in the beginning is a nice light touch. It would be sad if they discontinued Valentino Uomo Intense; I heard that Valentino might do this. I tried the other Valentinos...the original Valentino Uomo, Valentino Roma, Valentino Coral Fantasy, Valentino Born in Roma, and the new Valentino Green Stravaganza; to me, all of these lack the suave darkness of Valentino Uomo Intense, the black leather appropriate for a men’s fragrance.

The best Valentino money can buy, THIS makes you feel confident if you love masculine iris fragrances. Keep in mind anyone can wear this with an open mindset, for reference I’m ac16 year old male that dresses in baggy clothes and Jordan’s and I feel like the fragrance was shaped to suit me and my personality. Uomo intense is just so perfect, I’ve never smelt DHI or DHP but I can imagine this is the most perfect blend of sophisticated, classy, masculine, and a crowd pleasing beauty. This is worth the money. The scent its self is like a dark rich powdery vanilla ice cream with a waxy almost touch to it mixed with a leathery almost undertone mixed with that waxy iris. It’s so masculine and beautiful, it wonderful. It’s rare I ever rate anything above a 9/10 in terms of smell but this is one of 3 fragrances that I can say in my collection are masterpieces. 10/10 probably my third favorite fragrance of all time.

Excellent perfume, very quickly became a favourite of mine. I smell a lot of powdery bubblegum initially, then leather with a hint of that bubblegummy iris on the drydown. I seem to have a thing for perfumes that smell like food. That being said I don't smell any nutmeg in this. Tons of compliments, with the word "delicious" being said twice on the same day. Projection and sillage are huge for the first 20 minutes and then it chills out a bit. Strongly reccomend for dates, banquet hall nights, champagne lounges and dinner parties. Really don't know what the deal is with the "discontinued" facade. It's sold out everywhere in BC but available from discounters in Quebec that have 20+ bottles in stock? And then it's available at retail price from retailers in Europe. So is it discontinued or not? People are selling their 3oz bottles on eBay for $650+ CDN and I got one from a Quebec store for $150. Love it!

Valentino Uomo Intense 2021 (Spiked collar) smells amazing, but if you’re familiar with the 2016 (Smooth collar) version, you’ll notice the difference. If you’ve never smelled the original, however, you’re getting a smooth, elegant iris fragrance with a refined touch of leather and vanilla. The DNA is still there, just a little lighter and fresher. The 2016 version is richer, deeper, and projects better, offering a dense, enveloping scent. Dior Homme Intense has a more powdery, resinous feel with a velvety, dressy quality, while Givenchy Gentleman EDP has a rich, refined iris note with a subtle woody and floral complexity. Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Parfum is muskier and fresher, making iris feel lighter and more versatile. VUI 2021 is an excellent fragrance. If you’ve never smelled 2016, you won’t feel like you’re missing anything—it’s a refined, classy scent that fits into just about any situation.

I have Valentino Uomo Intense and Dior Homme Intense and they are very different. I love Valentino Uomo Intense and I don't like Dior Homme Intense (I blind bought it). While Valentino Uomo Intense smells similar to a lipstick or modern good cosmetic products (and sweet -vanilla- and wood when it dries), Dior Homme Intense smells like our grand-mothers cosmetic products back in the 70s, it's too strong and old-fashioned when it dries. Valentino Uomo Intense is softer, well balanced and you can notice high quality ingredients. Another similar to this one is the Zara Night pour Homme 3, which is similar but you can notice the bad quality the ingredients have, specially when it dries, where the ingredients smell too syntethic (something like cleaning products). No doubt the best one is Valentino Uomo Intense, second the Zara Night Homme 3 and third position Dior Homme Intense.

I can see why this is rated so highly on Fragrantica. While this style of scent profile is not a favorite of mine I can sure appreciate how well done this fragrance is and be very satisfied to have added it to my collection for the cooler months. I feel every man that can appreciate Iris dominant fragrances should at least have one in the collection and I feel this is a wonderful choice due to how appealing and approachable it is. What you have here is an extremely appealing iris dominant fragrance, one suited for most of the masses. Valentino was extremely intelligent with this release as they took that very picky dry iris and combined a series of other notes making it as silky smooth and pleasant as possible. This is one of those scents thats just down right sexy especially if paired with the right setting and outfits.

Dior Homme Parfum, Dior Homme Intense and Valentino Uomo Intense are the only three iris forward fragrances you will ever need. Call it the Holy Trinity of Iris Perfumery. This one has formidable projection and longevity, and smells dreamy. All the base notes take over shortly after first spraying it on, and it stays mostly linear throughout; chocolate in the late dry-down. I get the nutmeg and juniper about two or three hours in, but it's the iris, vanilla, Tonka bean, leather and patchouli that makes this a bewitching blend. Valentino Uomo Intense is hypnotizing. You might say you wouldn't need this if you have the Dior Hommes, but you'd be wrong if you're an iris devotee. I have all three now, and I consider my collection better for it. You will love that studded neck on the bottle, too. Looks badass.

I have 3 iris frags at the moment, DHP, DHI, and VUI. When I was at Hong Kong airport, I was thinking of getting Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Parfum because it smelled really nice when I sprayed it onto my skin. Then I remembered I have an unopened bottle of VUI in my closet. Didn’t open it since in my head it shares the same scent profile as DHI because of the reviews (it was a blind buy). Luckily, I didn't get BNP, because when I opened my bottle of VUI to try it, its opening was very close to BNP than to DHI, close enough that having VUI and BNP would be redundant. A great addition to one's collection/rotation! Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 7-8 hours on my skin. 8-9 hours on clothes (EDIT: It lasted longer than 12 hours on my clothes in an air-conditioned room.) Sillage: Moderate.

I only use it when going to sleep. Makes me feel relaxed and clean. The only fragrance my wife accepts when in the car. I compared to the expensive Layton PDM and have some similarities but found the Valentino a more bang for your money. For years I have only been wearing baby cologne, the Johnson and Johnson and Chicco baby colognes to be specific, I have a tendency to develop headaches and feel nauseous with everything that is cloying, most fragrances have something that I can't stand, continued seeking something more masculine I found the Prada L'homme. Then VUI, my favorite so far, surpassing PDM Pegasus, Layton and Layton Exclusif in my opinion but everyone is different, so the beauty of this while world of fragrances is the variety of products and prices.

Been wearing this variation for months and it's become a favorite. definitely similar to Dior Homme Intense, but not a clone as this has more vanilla and leather. projects well and last longer than DHI latest edition. on scent alone I like DHI more, the longevity of later batches pales in comparison to this new Valentino Uomo Intense. overall, I like the Valentino more at this point because of the performance. I get 8+ hours and it's sexxxyyyyyyy. I love powdery Iris and highly recommend this to others that do as well. if you like DHI this is an easy blind buy. 9.5/10 one of my faves!! PS the regular Valentino Uomo is beautiful as well, and worth checking out. the Uomo line is definitely better than the Givency Gentleman line as far as iris goes 😎

I DO get the comparison with DHI, VU, and the Gentleman (RP, and EDP). However, VUI is much more masculine and wearable even than the other ones. The opening for this is where the big similarity is found. Mid (right about 10-15min later) is where this becomes my favorite iris-focused fragrance. Beautiful sweetness with that, which I assume to be the note in call, leather. Beautiful scent bubble, nothing to overpowering in the air. My bottle is right around 6 months old, so not enough time in use, but longevity on this is great - quite distinguishable even when I had other strong scents around me every test - can only imagine this getting stronger with time. I'd love to wear this as an actual signature, even in warmer (indoor) days.

There are so many things going around Valentino Uomo Intense's dark leather accord, unlike its spitting cousin Dior Homme Intense (which is happy being uncomplicated). There are disparate notes--from the sprightliness of citrus and florals to the warmth of vanilla and tonka bean. Tying them together beautifully is iris absolute, the orris extraction used in this fragrance. Iris apparently has that catalyzing effect on disparate notes: in Versace's The Dreamer, iris synchronizes the fabulously fresh opening with the faintly oriental drydown. On Valentino Uomo Intense, the orris effect is bold and delicate at the same time: a leather chaise longue floating on air. This is certainly a gem in my evening-wear collection.

I've been sceptical about Valentino Intense for a long time...but I rant out of choices to fill the room that Dior Homme Parfum (2017-2020) created. My beloved masterpiece is now gone, and it's legacy destroyed by MFK (Yes, I didn't only mean it for his name, lol.) Well...I should look at Valentino Intense sooner...I love it, integrates in a better way iris, with elegance and grace than DHI, and hey, I'm an IRIS lover, but the reason DHP is gonna be my fav ever, it is unique and rich profile, leathery, woody, dark, like you take a bath in gold...Valentino, so far, is the only one I've smelled that has a similar dna. Is a 11/10 for me, great quality, great performance, great profile and price. It's a junior DHP!

Let's make this simple for those who are undecided between this and DHI. Choose one and you won't need the other. I have both and in my humble opinion, there aren't enough differences between the two to warrant having both....UNLESS....You are a fragrance enthusiast/collector and must have both. 🤝 I personally have zero issues with performance as it lasts about 6 to 8hrs on my skin. I absolutely love DHI as well. Uomo Intense = 8.5 DHI = 8.3 I prefer the leather in the dry down of Uomo Edit: 29 JAN after wearing DHI yesterday. I like DHI slightly better. DHI 9.0 Uomo 8.5 Edit: wore again on 13 Feb and dammit. ..they are both amazing. Tied at 9.0

A darker, richer enhanced 'version' of the DHI scent profile... It's more masculine than DHI and the leather is a great fancy addition.. i pick the light fresh touch and I believe this is what makes this fragrance more enjoyable and less boring. In the first couple of hours, I get the same luxurious, chocolaty vibe as in Prada L'Homme Intense, but then the dry-down leans closer to DHP than DHI in terms of sophistication and class. I could wear this every day... it doesn’t feel like a 'mood' fragrance the way DHI sometimes does to me... this is superior for sure 1000/10! Love love LOVE 👍

Very similiar to dior homme intense but more masculine and bad boy-esque from the leather and patchouli. My personal special occasion fragrance. Very intense vanilla that doesn't actually come across overly sweet, rather a kind of dry vanilla that is just there to smooth out the even more intense iris and make it palatable. If leather usually dissuades you from getting a fragrance, don't worry about this one.The leather is strong, dont get it twisted, but it is just blended very well so it doesn't punch you in the face, rather it just gives the more masculine touch that DHI needs imo.

This fragrance is an absolute masterpiece. I bought my first 1.7 ounce bottle a few weeks ago and then found out it was going to be discontinued. I have since searched high and low for another bottle, and found a 3.4 ounce one that was available and I immediately purchased it, as I never want to run out of this incredible parfum. I am referring specifically to the scarce 2021 reformulation. No one else is wearing this and you will receive compliment after compliment. This is my favorite fragrance. I haven't tried Roja Dove fragrances yet (Elysium, Enigma), so this is still my #1.

This is an absolutely lovely iris-based scent. It's very balanced and excellently blended. Quite similar to Dior Homme Intense, but this one is fresher and more mass-appealing. There's a prominent vanilla here that mixes perfectly with the iris and mandarin. Personally I don't get the leather as much as others seem to, but it's in there. It's a really soft and smooth, blended-in kind of leather. Too much for summer but perfectly wearable any other season, also suitable for any person of any age. Handily the best iris scent I've smelled so far. 9.5/10

Uomo Intense by Valentino: This is goregous and the longevity is great. I'm a big fan of that powdery kind of iris. I see the similarities to Dior Homme Intense but for me the iris in that is much dirtier and off-putting whereas this with the powderiness and the vanilla makes it much smoother and wearable and almost like a younger version of DHI in some ways. The sillage is good too and it is really nice in cold weather. Top notes: Nutmeg, some orange, iris Middle notes: Sage, violet, iris Base notes: Iris, vanilla, patchouli, some leather 5/5

I've wanted to get this for a while now, and finally did! Powdery, leathery fragrance, best worn during cold seasons (Fall/Winter). I can smell the vanilla and iris, too. Haven't been that much of a fan of floral scents, but I'm slowly starting to like them more and more, at the very least iris. I'd say it's a more mature sweet fragrance. Definitely strong but in my opinion not too much, and also very long lasting: after 4+ hours it's gone almost nowhere, and after 8+ hours it was still easy to notice. One of my absolute favorites :)

Valentino’s best fragrance, hell its one of the best from the past 10 years, its elegant refined, sweet, leathery, its that notorious lipsticky iris. Smooth, creamy, vanillic, with nuances of leather in between. As it opens its similar to the drydown but lighter, and as times goes on it deepens and smooths out. I am in love with it and very upset its been discontinued in favor of what is in my opinion an inferior line. A damn shame we’ll lose out on these wonderful compositions in time. Safe to say this is a favorite of mine 100%.

Man, this is a stunning fragrance! no wonder it has such a good rating on here, I would describe it as 'airy' when you smell it up close it's like you're breathing pure fresh sweet oxygen! I sampled a lot of fragrances recently and this one really stood out. It's delicious almost. Iris, vanilla, leather, powdery sweet, alluring, intimate. So good. Easy 6-7hrs longevity and with good projection too. A very sexy compliment getting fragrance. Masterpiece scent, easy signature scent, date nights, Netflix and chill. I would rate 10/10

The best iris fragrance I’ve ever smelled, I would argue that this is a bit better than DHI, because it’s more versatile and less formal than DHI. This has that same addictiveness that DHI has but it has vanilla and leather, making it more mass appealing. It has high quality, and those who love DHI will also love this one equally to my eyes. Unfortunately, they’ve have discontinued this in the US, and you can only find them in certain discounters. If you don’t have a bottle of this, go run and get it before it’s completely gone!

Ok, so I've had the 2021 version for about a month and just got the 2016 (2020 batch) non Puig version yesterday. I just sprayed the 2016 so off the top I get that bubble gum vibe you get with Noir Absolu but now is drying down to what I'm familiar with in the 2021. I didn't tell y'all that I absolutely love 2021 it's so incredible its literally my favorite fragrance of all time it's perfect in every way, this 2016 is definitely different in the top but ill have to report back concerning the rest.

The best designer fragrance ever made. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued and replaced with the Born in Roma line, which I think all smell like overly sweet and sticky candy. It smells almost identical to the 2016 formula, so it doesn’t really matter which one you get. I got mine (2021 formula) this month on eBay, so if you’re lucky you could probably find one. If you can’t, Prada L’Homme Intense is quite similar. It’s just a shame that Valentino has ruined their fragrances.

Very similar to DHI but more smooth chocolate leathery notes give this a more masculine edge vs Dior's makeup iris giving more formal vibes to me. The longevity of this scent is as uneventful as the original VUI but I prefer this bottle design and this slightly rounder profile that many scents in 2023 are not releasing anymore with the focus on iris. Not a great value for money but overall a great value for how it smells, wish they added a praline or rum note. 9/10

Amazing fragrance worth every dollar. The top notes do initially smell like makeup to me and at first when I sampled it I didn't like it much but I swear this fragrance gets better every minute that passes. The Iris and vanilla really pop out after 30 minutes. My favorite fragrance before I tried this was Armani Code Absolu, which I have been using for the past 5 years but Uomo Intense by Valentino is probably going to overtake it with how much I love it.

Superb scent for those who love powdery iris, for me this is a love at first smell. It lasts much longer than the OG Uomo 2021. It's kind of like Dior Homme Intense was made for slightly younger crowd. Really good date/special occasions scent, though I wouldn't blame you for wanting to use it as a year round scent. Scent 10/10. Longevity 7/10. Sillage 6/10. Overall 9.5/10, easily a top class fragrance, get it whenever you can.

I don't understand why people still say this smells like DHI. This has a leathery, vanilla, and powdery scent, whereas DHI is more lipsticky with hints of cocoa. To me, this fragrance is closer to Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Parfum, while DHI resembles Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privee without the whisky accord. Both fragrances are great. You can have this one, DHI, and DHP in your collection, because they are not redundant.

This was my first love as far as fragrances go, but over time and as it matured this weird green herbal-y kind of smell comes out in the mid to the drown, it smells weird on clothes but I’m not sure if that comes out in the air? Does anyone know what notes could be doing this? Or if it’s a matter of skin chemistry? shame cause I love this fragrance but that weird smell just completely clashes with the scent profile for me

Guys, let's calm down. I don't think it's discontinued. It looks like they're changing the bottle design back to the old one. The studded bottle is in the discontinued section on their web page, but there's a new version available with the original, non-studded bottle design on their main page. It looks like we're fine for now. As to whether there's any reformulation with the change back to the old bottle, I can't say.

A longer lasting, better projecting version of Dior homme 2011-2014. There’s a punchiness to it that i love. I think this one i got was an older batch or something because i’ve been reading about issues regarding longevity and projection but the one i got is beastmode. 10/10, wish they didn’t discontinue this but glad they did cause now i can rock this without thinking anyone else finna be wearing it too lol

I would describe this as a candied version of Dior Homme Intense. Sweeter, darker ( more leathery ) and with more synthetic touch. Not as ethereal and velvety as Dior Homme Intense but denser with slightly more roughness and masculinity. Great scent nevertheless. Very good longevity and great sillage. If Dior Homme Intense didn't exist it would be a 10/10 so I would give this one a 9/10.

VUI(valentino uomo intense) has that iris scent which will stun you to try again and again and again until you buy it , I enjoyed my VUI era but its not performing at all lol . its a very neutral performance that you smell only however owning it as a perfume is a really good experience especially with this extraordinary bottle and shock stud neck I JUDGE THAT ITS SUITABLE FOR ALL SEASONS

For me in seductive iris scents It's: 1. Givenchy Gentleman EDP 2. Valentino Uomo Intense 3. Dior Homme Intense 4. Prada L'homme Intense All subjective though! tested them all multiple times on my skin and I personally like the addition of warm spices + vanilla in gentleman edp, the rest don't give that spice and I found that i loved this addition. all goated scents for sure.

I've reviewed this before but just popping back in to say how much I love this. I bought this just as the weather began to heat up so it's really just been macerating on my shelf. However I do occasionally wear a spray or two to bed (don't hurt me). On the flip side of being a standout dressed-up scent, it carries over really well to the bedroom. Equally sexy as it is cozy.

This was one of my first fragrances, once I was into the hobby, that I was proud to own. Crazy how time changes things. I cannot stand the smell of it anymore. It has taken on a nauseating cough syrup quality and completely fills a space. I haven't worn it myself in a year or two, and my partner has started picking it up instead. I might sell it off just to make him stop.

10/10 masterpiece!! Love the original uomo but I prefer this one for more special occasions and night events. The iris/leather/vanilla combination has a nice dark edge to it. If you love powdery fragrances then definitely check this one out. The 2021 version is a bit more mass appealing than the original uomo intense but I still wouldn’t recommend blind buying.
