Blu Cobalto I

wow wow wow, this is one of the luxuriest and well-blended chocolate caky dirty patchoulies I've come across so far. First time I smelled this I was instantly reminded of Mugler's Angel and more accurately Angel taste of fragrance. In comparison to Angel, this is more chocolaty and the chocolate lasts longer, also, everything headache-inducing in Angel has been removed from this, so it's quite wearable and it actually lasts for days with a strong projection + this is very very resinous in my opinion, so it kind of feels heavy and sticky, so u must commit to it for 1 entire day should u decide to spray it on clothing.

If you're a fan of the original Angel by Thierry Mugler, not the current reformulated Angel by Mugler, then this will bring you back to that sexy deep and luxuriously mysterious scent you've been missing. The quality is unparalleled to other cacao scents. I was a die hard for Angel and still think it's a nice scent, but a skeleton of what it once was and represented. This scent brings back those compliments and curiosities from other people that follow your delicious trail, asking, "omg, what are you wearing?! Smells so good!"

So delicious, a rich milk chocolate cream with chocolatey patchouli and red berry (like strawberry) sauce. Very Angel coded, though I find this leans a touch spicier on my skin. Definitely unisex, this is a gourmand men can enjoy as much women. Winter is best for this, would make a wonderful holiday scent. Quite strong, my little sample dab is very noticeable, especially when I wave my arm. Another Valmont offering I'd seriously consider a discounted full bottle.

I am shocked to see Angel (which I hate and it sounds really cheap to my nose) as the main comparison. I bet people who voted did not even try Blu Cobalto. As much as I dislike Patchouli sometimes Cacao makes this perfume really nice. Top quality Amber, deep and well rounded, rare luxury nowadays in the era of Ambroxan. Loved it! It opened up like very fruity chocolate. Like Godiva chocolate with strawberry filling. I was pleasantly surprised that opoponox has that kind of effect. It does remind me of Angel, but much higher quality without dirtiness.

Whoever compares this to Angel Man... I want what you're smoking. This has some nice finesse to it unlike Angel which has a tar note and is all cardamom.

Smells warm and slightly spicy and engaging. This is a fragrance that wears well in fall and winter in a versatile way for the different professional and casual lifestyle roles you lead. Its construction is both elegant and basic. It caries a refined midtown intensity, paired and an exotic resiny earthy base. Not too spicy, not feminine and not overly masculine, but it does achieve the distinction of evoking feelings of the wanderlust for the North African escapades in a posh way. It reminds me of the smell of drinking a Nitro Cold Brew from Starbucks along the trails of North Africa.

This is like a lighter version of lheure exquise by bortnikoff but this is more refined and has softer chocolate note with ambery floral touch in base. After first 2 hours patchouli shines like anything and its all soft amber and medicinal patchouli. The synthetic nature of the scent is the only thing which I could not stomach in this one. But its good for what it is.

Its opening and ending like angel mugler. Very strong version. Love it

Cacao (more of a rich milk chocolate note actually) + touch of Lactonic creaminess + fresh Patchouli + aromatic Red Berry Sweetness (possibly a note that i'm not familiar with is the Opoponax aka 'Sweet Myrrh') Amazing blast of deep rich chocolate cake note with a touch of earthy Patchouli, a note combo that works so well together! Soon after followed by the note of Sweet Myrrh. The Opoponax tree resin is very sweet and balsamy, almost like a sticky desert, giving it almost a cherry almond note scent, and is moderately aromatic. If this is what real Opoponax smells like, this is a fabulous olfactory learning experience. I feel like there are at least 1-2 more ingredients in this dna, but i can't figure out what it is, possibly a spice and synthetic liquid notes. In the mid dry-down the chocolate fades into the other notes, losing that powder Cacao opening and almost going into a melted chocolate liquor in a cake kind of note. It's a really nice creation, i really enjoy it, but im not obsessed about it. I really enjoyed experiencing what Opoponax aka 'Sweet Myrrh' smells like! It also doesn't project as much as i want my fragrances in public, so id say this is a close-encounter fragrance as it has a very moderate personal scent bubble. This is something common with this line of fragrances and imo one of their weakest links they need to work on. I did get a few random whiffs though. And again, the $600 CND pricetag is a huge turn-off for me. I was told that the Italian island that produces glassware is the inspiration of the bottle design, showcasing an African mask, which i really loved. 3/5 Woofs

I'm sure this would be really lovely to someone who likes the smell of cacao. Unfortunately, I am not that someone.

This is a very adulterated opoponax that feels like it's got a bunch of sweet aromachems blended in with it. A backdrop of patchouli with a hint of cacao. There is something sickly sweet here that makes me think of shampoo. Blended with the chocolate note, it makes me think of oversweetened, processed milk chocolate rather than something dark and rich. This is an intensely femme frag, not really my vibe. I can see some comparisons with Angel here, but this is a lot simpler to my nose than any Mugler blend.

powdery, chocolatey, a bit of suntan lotion. imagine an uninspired tropical resort for old retired women, where no one does anything other than sitting on the beach, drinking chocolate martinis and white russians.

I Love the unparalleled chocolate in Blu Cobalt. In some ways similar to Borneo 1834, however, Blu Cobalt does not have the intensity of tobacco. I also detect a hint of cherry as the sweet note in Blu Cobalt while a distant cousin would be almond as sweet in Ortiza's Horizon. I know that scent has been compared to Chanel's Coromandel, but I don't get at all, as Coromandel is a slightly sweet amber bomb all the way through. My only issue with Blu Colbalt is that after about an hour the synthetic cherry note seems to amply against the amber an earth. thankfully the chocolate lingers to balance it. I generally wear the fragrance for the chocolate. And I don't find the slightly cloying cherry note in my other fragrances.

got a sample of this at a spa and decided to spray it on a t-shirt while i was in my room. planning to wear it the next day so i tucked it away in the closet. i stepped out of my room for a minute and when i came back the entire hallway outside my room was filled with the most incredible scent. something richand addictive. it was a beautifully clean, non musty patchouli with these gorg bursts of cocoa and huge layer of opoponax just radiating from my room and dancing around in the hallway so beautifully when i walked back in it hit me even harder. my whole room was drenched in it this thing lasted a solid 15 hours before it finally softened down. im in awe

I actually really like it, in the air it's smells like a warm blue fragrance. Something like amen by mugler but much better. In the air it leans masculine but up close it smells a little bit feminine especially in opening but the dry down is when this is the best. Its also reminds me decision by Amouage.
