Rosso I

A straightforward and uncomplicated Rose Oud combination. Completely linear, good longevity and reasonable sillage. Reminds me a bit of Le Labo Rose 31 but without the slightly dirty, skanky edge which I love. A very similar rose oud combo can be found in a number of Montale scents at a fraction of the price - this retails at 390 Euro for 100ml which seems excessive for something that lacks any complexity. There is an aromachemical in this formulation that doesn't agree with me at all. Although I enjoy the fragrance it gives me an instant nausea in the pit of my stomach. I have had a similar reaction to other products including Vibrant Scent by MI:NT. Haven't yet been able to identify what the ingredient is but it's a shame as it prevents me from using some products that I otherwise like.

Classic oud, rose fragrance reminds me of POAL from Frederic Malle. Pink pepper adds woodiness to this one but i think this fragrance is more on the rose side. sweet rose, oud and hint of pink pepper. It's more versatile than POAL, oud is classic. This perfume has nothing special but if you find POAL to strong then you can give this a shot. It stayed around 7 hours before it becomes a skincent. Sillage is also medium. Overall it depends on what you are looking for. I am gonna pass this one.

Ethanol + unidentified Floral note + small touch of White Vanillin + classic mature Rose + small touch of Soap + smallest touch of Pink Pepper spice + Oakmoss + Cumin Same scent genre as FM's 'Portrait of a Lady', but done nowhere near as well. I'm also getting no Oud as listed in the Note Pyramid. I can confirm that i have smelt real Oud in one of their other fragrances though. This is not a good fragrance. Smells like Grandma's Rose Soap Bath Balls from the 1980's, and makes my skin smell like a grandma's natural body scent. The quality of ingredients are poor here. The rose is not the best quality or scent, it smells cheap-synthetic, almost plasticky. And the Soap note isn't one that is luxurious. I can't confirm, but i think the note of Oakmoss is added, giving off a mossy note to the dna. I also can't confirm, but there is some kind of cooling spice note in it, and it reminds me of Cumin, that comes out in the very Bottom End Dry-off hours later. Nicest thing about this fragrance is the bottle mask motif. I don't know what market the dna is suppose to target, who wants to smell like this. Love the bottle design, love exploring a new house, but this fragrance dna is a massive fail imo. $600 like wtf?... 1/5 Woofs

Let me get this clear. This is over £400 in Harrods and for, going off my ability to sniff, no oud, some berried fruits, plenty of vanillic compounds and a rose that shall not be named a rose. As quiet as a mute mouse and nothing to even consider writing home about. Who buys this?
