Verde Erba I

This is really lovely, but obscenely expensive. There are plenty of nice white florals out there, but Verde Erba has a floral note that strongly reminds me of lilac bushes that grew across the street from my childhood home in Michigan. It is redolent of both the flowers and the stems, with a slightly vegetal coolness that underlies the perfume. I could also swear that I detect just a hint of the "freshmint" flavored tic-tacs with their odd vanillic sweetness. The overall effect is pretty novel and beautifully suited for mild Spring weather. Despite the description I've offered here, this is a very subtle and refined unisex perfume. In the drydown, a pronounced clean musk takes center stage, though the dewy freshness here never completely subsides. I was lucky to snag a bottle last Spring at about half the retail price. And even though I really like this one, I can't imagine paying the crazy cost for a perfume with a fairly limited range. Even as a long-time perfume collector, I'm taken aback by the insane prices charged by some brands these days (for reference, the retail price for a 100ml bottle of this perfume is $450). Really nice work by the perfumer on this one, but certainly not worth the price of admission.

I see the comparison to NR but this is so much richer and creamier and has an obvious lilac note. In addition, it is a little less sweet owing to the green notes that dominate the opening. It lasts forever and never becomes overwhelming. Gorgeous late winter/spring fragrance.

Pure elegance. There’s no other perfume that even slightly reminds me of this gem! Incredibly expensive but gorgeous.

Its a nostalgic smell to me and my family but we cant put our finger on it ? Hmmm

It's nice- it's giving: tennis club simplicity. A bit matronly, a little simplistic, and very wealthy.

this has been reminding me of something i'm super familiar for the long time and today i was finally able to spot it, narciso rodriguez for her! the opening is super clean, non-shampooyi though, more in a musky way; it's actually very much the DNA of NR musk! the floral musk is so intense that it kind of resembles something herbal and leans soapy. i guess there must be some white floral elements here because i also get a nice plasticy undertone. there's also a sticky resinous DNA that is present in the majority of valmonts i have tried mixed w just the subtlest hint of green. also, maybe i'm tripping but anyone else feels like there's some kind of an orange citrus in this? on my skin it didn't perform as well as blue cobalto/zafferano/mica d'oro/gaggia medio, which makes me wonder if that's the reason why verde erba is not as popular as the other ones from the same collection. to me, this would've been new a few years ago but to the wearers of NR for her line, i don't think this will appeal as much given the price tag. that being said, i love the bottle design.

Something about this fragrance is so familiar to me but can’t quite place it. Something from my childhood in the early 2000s. I like it but it’s not a love but that bottle is cool asf so I was hoping to love it for that alone. Someone said it’s a bit matronly and I definitely get that vibe too. Matronly but in a cool way. Not dated. It’s not really my style as it bores me if I’m being honest but it is nice. It has very poor performance though, wears very close to the skin with moderate longevity.

I have a official travel spray I'm decluttering. Beautiful scent just not my style. Its been collecting dust in my wardrobe for years now. 🤧
