Midnight in Paris Eau de Parfum

This is a review from 4.2.12 back before they added the Parfum version so I left this review on the EDT. However this is for the parfum as this is the one I own. Midnight in Paris.....what is there to say about this fragrance, other than it is absolutely, undoubtedly one of the best fragrances I have ever had the pleasure of smelling. It easily made its way to be my signature scent. Where many describe this scent as more of a romantic night out scent(in which it is), this can also easily be worn daily. This fragrance is by far my definition of smooth elegance and sexy. Many consider this fragrance to be unisex yet to me there is something masculine about this, it could be the leather note that makes it masculine. I can't see any male wearing this and a female not drooling over it. I have received countless compliments from the ladies which is always a big plus. This fragrance has a subtle powdery sweetness to it. The floral note is very well done in this fragrance. To my nose the notes that make the biggest impact are definitely all of the base notes and the hit of leather. The almond in the base makes this fragrance have a creamy vibe to it. Also there is a very vibrant tea note in this fragrance, which is one of the best tea notes I have ever smelled. As many others have stated this can be compared to Dior Homme, and Armani Code. Both this and Dior Homme share the same perfumier and it shows in both fragrances. Many compare this to Bvlgari Black, to me they are no where close as Midnight in Paris does not have that horrid rubber note that predominately takes over Bvlgari Black. When I wear this I could imagine myself out on a date with a beautiful gorgeous woman in the night time cool of the spring. We have been to dinner casually dressed attire. We then decide to go for a stroll through a park. We sit down on a park bench and gaze into the beautiful night time sky having a nice conversation. She nestles under me and fully embraces my essence and the fragrance of a Midnight in Paris. All in all this fragrance is a very elegant, smooth and sexy. Also the bottle....pictures does the bottle no justice easily the best bottle every created. This fragrance is a must have for the classy elegant man, who is confident in himself. Sillage/Projection: 10/10 after 8 hours of wearing I still received compliments. Longevity 10/10 Easily lasts 16 hours on my skin. Scent: 10/10 Compliment factor: 10/10 Many, Many, Many.... Purpose: 10/10 Season: Will work in any season.

I discovered this fragrance in 2012 when many still considered it niche. I was still in college and decided to treat myself to it as the descriptions of it fascinated me. Even the aesthetics of the bottle teased me until I finally secured my first bottle of the EDP and fell head over heels in love with it. I can vividly recall receiving the box, setting myself down on a bench on campus, and ripping the packaging open with the haste of an overly zealous child on Christmas morning (though it was a 90+ F summer day.) I sat there for at least 15 minutes afterwards just trying to process what I had smelled. Both the EDT and EDP are gorgeous, but the EDP has something extra that gives it an edge of refinement and depth that the EDT lacks. While the EDT highlights the bergamot and lemon a bit more, thus making it not quite so thick, the EDP envelops you with the most intoxicating tandem of leather and tonka I have ever smelled. A less effervescent, but more urbane, luxurious, and captivating version of the EDT. A more fitting name could not have possibly been chosen for this scent. Enigmatic, but not at all dark. It is not an austere scent, but rather one that's well suited for a good humored man in a well cut dark suit out for dinner with a friend. This one demands analysis. It is not one I can simply smell and passively admire. It is simply too good to just wear. It is transformative and makes you think. Any great fragrance should. This is by far my most complimented scent ever, and I own many of them. It never fails to impress. Sillage and longevity are both monstrous, but not off-putting. You will definitely be noticed and, more often than not, admired. A real shame that this has been discontinued. Some things are just too good for this world. 10/10

Beautiful fragrance, it's everything that I love about perfumery with it's warm resins and there's even something fresh and slightly green/citric coming off the top presumably from the bergamot, lemon and rosemary and I definitely get the signature "burnt rubber" note, but I think that's just the resin which comes off smokey. This is a year round late night, dating fragrance that I think would shine through the best in colder weather, it's very dapper and refined smelling so I think you could even wear this formally although this is more of a dating fragrance than anything. This is the one I think I might reach for when I find Ms. Right, and I take her out to a fine restaurant and drop the big question. This is the ultimate proposal/fine dining with your significant other fragrance because it's just so seductive and sexy. Unfortunately, however, despite virtually everything about this fragrance being beautiful from the way it smells to the performance - it's a perfect 10 IMO - the price simply is not worth it. I got an extremely good deal on this compared to the going rates, which seem to be about $250 and then there are many others trying to sell for $300 or more, and that's just insane. This is worth it if you can find it for $150, and if they were even $100 I would buy backup bottles, and the same goes for the EDT, but when the cheapest you can score one for is 200 it's just simply not worth it. VC&A need to get their stuff together and stop depriving us of their classic designer catalog: Pour Homme, Tsar and this one would sell even if they were just limited edition releases in uniform bottles like what YSL did with the La Collection series. In short: A++ fragrance, might be on my Mount Rushmore of designer fragrances, but F-tier pricing.

I absolutely LOVE Midnight in Paris. I blind bought the EDP after reading some online reviews, and was blown away when it arrived in the mail. First of all, the bottle is beautiful. Pictures really don't do it justice. Second, the fragrance is amazing. My girlfiend LOVES it. If you like Jaipur Homme, or Bulgari Black you will probably like this. Verry leathery and powdery. It's definitely an evening scent. I wouldn't wear this to work or in other casual settings. It's special. Weddings, fancy dates, that sort of thing. Longevity is exaclty what I would expect from an EDP. I sprayed some on at 7am and could still smell it when I went to bed. Projection isn't huge, but you wouldn't really want it to be. It's an intimate scent. You can expect a couple of feet at first, but after the drydown it's less than 12 inches. Don't over spray this one! 4 sprays (or less . . . much less) should do the job. Especially since it's been discontinued. You want to savor this as long as you can. It's a real shame that the EDP has been discontinued. I plan on ordering the EDT, which is still out there, so I can compare them, but I doubt it will have the same performance. If you want to try this scent don't wait around thinking about it. You'll be lucky to find an EDP, but even the EDT is worth getting your hands on.

wow, wow, wow ...I just got a bottle of the EDP for the first time. I am not writing this to proudly gloat that I found a bottle or to offer my novice opinion of the fragrance. I just wanted to further emphasize the difference between the EDT and the EDP that several other people have mentioned. I have experience with the EDT but I had never even smelled the EDP. In my opinion, the EDP is significantly better than the already good EDT. The EDP is one of those fragrances that you absolutely cannot stop smelling the location where you sprayed it, even if that appears suspect or perverse - in my case, my elbow. It is such a calming, cloud/pillow accord. It is like aromatherapy for my mood. I do not get any rubber smell at all, nor is it a baby powder smell to me. I get a slightly sweet (Tonka), confectionary sugar/vanilla pastry powder scent ... it is truly lovely. But I guess it is important to keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who has an embarrassingly large number of back up Prada Luna Rossa Black bottles just in case it gets discontinued, so I am definitely a sucker for this DNA. I wish I could pump this stuff into my office through a room atomizer. 10/10 and a 4.7 Fragnatica rating in my eyes/by my nose.

I really like Bvlgari Black but since it was discontinued its hard to get in my country. However many reviewed mentioned MIP is a dupe of Bvlgari Black. And that is the only reason I bought this perfume. I got two option to choose either EDT or EDP version and surprisingly the EDP version is cheaper than EDT version due to promotion. So i opt to EDP version. The packaging of the perfume is so nice. Probably the bottle is one of the nicest design around. I barely can detect the nozzle straw inside the bottle. On the first spray, I can detect rubber, oily & bug spray smell. I was shocked. The only smell that have similarity with Bvlgari Black is the burnt rubber smell. So i give another try on the next day, and this fragrance now really impressed me. I really2 can detect the grape & tea smell. There is no similarity to Dior Homme Intense at all. The closest smell probably I can say is the drydown of Escada Magnetism but in more mature and well manner way. Sillage and longevity just average on my skin. I will always keep this bottle in my wardrobe not because it similar to Bvlgari Black but it is similar to Escada Magnetism which discontinued also.

Got the 75mL EDP online. First impression: What the heck, this smells just like Thierry Mugler's Womanity!! Just less sweet and obviously not aquatic, with some incense thrown in. I am not sure how I feel about this fragrance, it's quite different for me (I'm a 22 yr old woman). I will keep the bottle because it's awesome, & persevere with it. I think for me it might be a fragrance for a quiet mood, not everyday. And it is good to have if you're a collector because there are whisperings of it being discontinued. This is a good fragrance. Mellow, soft sillage, sweet & warm (in an aromatic way), with aspects of brightness, and good longevity. For a quiet, self-assured, dark & mysterious gentleman. Or a unique lady. It reeks of quiet sophistication & good taste. Am enjoying its development. UPDATE: I officially LOVE this fragrance. Am getting lovely whiffs from my wrist now- the tea, citrus & beautiful rosemary is shining through now. Beautifully juxtaposed with the leather & incense- it is very appealing. The figgy sweet leather (why I got Womanity) is fading to reveal a smoky incense. Fabulously constructed fragrance. Absolute steal.

I finally managed to smell this today. Honestly I really like the smell because I'm a fan of tonka, but im not sure what all the fuss is about. yes it's nice but also a very typical sweet gourmand tonka fragrances. There are tons of other frags like this one. I use armani code ultimate which is very similar but is fresher and spicier. Even though I can pick up leather and tonka and a few other things the notes compliment each other too well and don't do anything to clash or contrast. The dry down is where the notes are stripped back, the citrus fades and the leather calms down and yet this is the part I prefer most. shame it doesn't project more but it does last very long in my case even overnight when I sprayed at 5.00pm. good smell, well blended, good performance but not very original or interesting. I found three bottles 125ml EDP i'm gonna hold on to them till I understand how much they are worth! The lady even sold me the tester (80% full for 15 euro!)

i was so lucky to find 2x 125ml bottles of midnight in paris in a little store. i never sniffed it before so i tested it on a paper and i liked it very much.then i tested on me and the like became love!it is so smooth, classy, refined..wow..the dominant notes are tea, leather and vanilla but everything well balanced.im not so experienced in fragrance matter but i never smelled something like this before. discontinuing this art of parfume is a true crime. performance is good, better in night time and in colder seasons. it can be used for dates but it isnt a 100%safe fragrance because it is very unique so the young crowd can find it too mature. i cant wait to wear it during the next fall and winter. the bottle is the best i ever seen so far. grazie per la lettura. scent:9 longevity:7,5 sillage:7 versatility:7,5 uniqueness: 9 bottle: 10 my vote: 9 in one word: midnight special thanks to SCENTLAND for reviewing this gem. grazie davvero!

I know the phrase “that smells niche” is a misnomer, but in terms of scent, this is a highly creative, complex beauty and one made during a time when designer houses were actually pushing boundaries and producing far more unconventional, daring compositions than todays copy paste amberwood drivel. Someone below called this the “Mount Rushmore of affordable designer scents,” and I have to agree, bc at the time they were a whopping $40. I’ve tested the EDT and EDP side by side, and while they’re clearly related, the EDP is the deeper, richer experience, with the benzoin and incense noticeably ramped up. It’s simply the better fragrance, in my opinion. I could easily see Van Cleef & Arpels re-releasing this in the Les Classiques collection. I do have a bottle but only use a few sprays since I cannot tolerate the smell. I still remember every time I used it, I will get headache although for me the smell is really good. The sileage and longevity is a best on my skin. So, after that I just keep it in the box and put on the shelf. Without me realizing it, I didn't touch the perfume for almost 10 years. and I just found out recently, this perfume has been discontinued and the price has skyrocketed. So, I checked the perfume again, unfortunately the bottle has leak! and now only remaining half of the bottle. Sigh. So, what triggered me to check back this fragrance? Afnan Turathi Blue, yes it has a same vibe but in much better way to my nose. And the best part I can wear it without got any headache and I am so happy about it.

I paid 22 bucks for 75ml EDP online. What a bang for ur bucks! And as a Design student I have to said that the bottle is stunning! ;D This fragrance is BEAUTIFUL!!! Soft, sweet and powdery leather. The scent itself is subtle. I kinda get the Dior Homme and Armani Code vibe like they stated, bt in different way. MIP has a very distinct benzoin and soft leathery smell. I usually don't like leathery smell fragrance bt I approve this one. The projection is moderate but the longevity is good, I sprayed it befpre going to bed and I can still detect it the next morning. Expect more than 7 hours. Projection: 8.5/10 Longevity: 7-10 hrs Versatility: All occasions Uniqueness: 9/10 Price Point: 10/10 My rating: 9/10 **A masterpiece at affordable price. ;)

I just sprayed so I could give an accurate assessment and WOW I forgot how much I really love it, especially in summer. I chose the EdP bc I found it to have more personality and was sweeter and richer, I also remember there being less leather in this compared to the EdT. A "female" fragrance sister would be AP L'Agent. The initial spray is harsh but give it five minutes and you've got yourself something special. The leather is really creamy, subtly sweet and blends the smokey notes together beautifully. The longevity is about 8 hours on my very dry skin that eats perfume and projection is not overwhelming - seductive and comfortable to wear. I was going to gift it to my boyfriend but screw it, this gent is all mine.

Went for the EDP and no regrets whatsoever. Midnight in Paris is not meant to be taken literally. This is not meant to smell like Paris at midnight, but it does capture some of that vibe. I imagine a guy in sunglasses and a brand new leather jacket strolling down one of the streets of Paris in the late evening, when the sun has almost set but a sliver of orange still lights the sky, like the luminous lemon note and the slight orangey tone of the bottle that makes it not completely blue. I think it's a very sophisticated scent, and one that is very occasion-specific. Personally, I reserve it for special anniversaries and dinners at night only. If worn accordingly it can be pretty hard to beat.

Well. Thankfully I got a bottle of this before the prices got out of control. It is a fantastic fragrance. Classy, elegant, masculine, smooth and just an overall joy to wear. It had great longevity and projection is moderate. It’s mainly a leather and Tonka vibe, with a tea not and some ever so slightly florals. I know it’s not listed, but it has a Dior homme Iris vibe, to my nose at least. It’s a shame the prices are what they are, because I could wear this every day. If you are on the fence about purchasing and can snag a bottle at a decent price (what you determine to be a decent price), just know you are getting a absolute gem. And the bottle is absolutely gorgeous as well

Managed to get my greedy hands on a bottle of the EdP version, and these are my thoughts on the matter: Opening is more dense and definitely more leathery than in the EdT, and for the very first time I understand what people mean when they speak about the "rubbery" smell, which I didn't get in the EdT. I wouldn't as readily say that the EdP is superior of the two, as there is the sweet feel and the more obvious incense of the EdT I really enjoy, but then again the EdP is deeper and a bit stronger. Let's just say I'm very happy to have both in my possession, and MiP in general has made a huge impression on me. One of my definite favourites.

I overpaid for this and I would not do it again, but this purchase was well worth the experience I get to enjoy whenever I wear this. It's really good and one of my favorite iris fragrances I've smelled. The bottle I got was unfortunately defective, and I got it off of ebay, but it smells just like a sample that I received before buying the full bottle. The combination of iris, leather, and vanilla is like a sweet baby powder-like scent just to simplify how this smells, but there's also a soapy cleanliness that this gives off in the opening. I think this is fantastic. I wish it was not discontinued, but it is what it is, we move on.

The picture for this is wrong. I think they mixed it up with the edt. I've had this for years. It's one of the classiest leather scents ever made. Very potent and creates a pleasant aura that follows you around. The intensity and quality of the notes are well blended and don't compete with each other. Harmonious. Definitely a cold weather scent. There was a time when this was going for almost nothing. I don't think that made much sense to me. This has a niche quality and should demand a fair price. Now it's discontinued and scarce. If you want this fragrance, do not hesitate to buy it. A true gem.

Some fragrances are best when they come across more subtly. This is one of them. When you overspray these beautiful, sweet, resinous compositions, it tends to just come across as a generic vanilla scent, but when you're just catching whiffs of it, you get more of those smokey nuances that make this so special. In the summer, one spray under the shirt. In the spring and fall, one on the neck, one under the shirt In the winter, one on the neck, one under the shirt, one of the crook of each arm. Always wear at night, especially date night. 10/10, Mount Rushmore contender fragrance.

To me it does not smell like bvlgari black i mean not at all.. Okay they share leather and sweetness but so does fahrenheit or other leather based fragrances. I bought recently BB because of the hype of their similarity but it was a mistake.. BB is a definitely more on the feminin side where as MIP EDP on the dry down more masculin with a noticable almond and smokiness which is in BB absence. Also BB lasts 6 hours tops but MIP 10+ hours easily. Since MIP EDP discontinued i use it cautiously on special ocasions. Very very sensual and romantic.., not to mention the bottle design

I love, love, love this scent! Got a sample of the EDP from decantshop as it is so hard to find. It's everything I love in a scent. Just a lovely, lovely oriental scent. The only thing it doesn't do for me, is project much. The sillage seems poor as well. But that's ok. I carry the sample around and reapply - I got a great 8 ml one which is perfect. All in all, this is a magical and subtle and perfectly balanced scent with a great floral vibe to it. Probably perfect for either a man or a woman. I'm a man, and it suits me perfectly and is what I'm looking for.

damn. this juice is SERIOUS ! i mean, do i want to smelled like this? Absolutely. is it a compliment getter ? i do think so. is it subtle ? erm.. depends on your skin chemistry. for me, it is indeed quite subtle but lasts quite a long time. i aint detect any leather here ( or i'd just say, the leather isnt dominant, its just perfect. it fits my liking ! in terms of scent, sweet - aromatic type of a scent. this is simply a masterpiece ! Scent : 10 out of 10 ! longevity : 8.5 out of 10 ! projection : 8 out of 10 ! overall : definitely a BUY !

Midnight in Paris EDP - I purchased this for my hubby and just fell in love with it myself. I know I use it more often than he does ;). It has the right balance of sweetness and smokiness. Of course I purchased this one at a wonderful price a year ago. Could have purchased a couple for the price but didn't and now I regret it. This is a delicious scent. So sad the EDP is hard to find, I will enjoy every bit of the bottle I have. Is it bad that I almost don't want to share this one even though I purchased it for him?

Reviewed the EdT a long time ago, I liked it a lot, and I still do. This is my - unchanged - impression of the EdP: Finally got hold of the EdP. Certainly deeper, sweeter and richer, with more rubber/leather and less tea. Might be a little more feminine than the EdT, but not much. Longevity is outstanding. The perfect companion for Bvlgari Black. If you like the basic chord, you will enjoy owning both. Just let your mood decide if you want to go avant garde or smooth. The EdT is great - this is a killer!

Well every one has the right to say what they think from a product as we all have a personal taste for things. In my opinion this is a high end product as is also classified as "Haute Parfumerie", and yes totally not well understood by all the different tastes from people. This beautiful bottle is featured in the opening of the movie "Jupiter Ascending" as one of the luxury items from the rich home where Jupiter is working as maid. But IMO this is a great product and sophisticated scent.

I normally think that if a fragrance gets discontinued, there's a pretty good, if not many reasons it got done so. However, why this gem was discontinued is beyond me??! It's stunningly good and sucks that people ask for $200-$250 for it now. If a fragrance house wants to make big bucks they should make a fragrance, 95%-100% similar to this. I know, cuz I alone will buy 10 backup bottles. Van cleef, if you're reading this - WHY ?! Why would you discontinue this beauty?

My signiture scent Last extreme long, project moderately and the scent is heavenly for me at least. The other night i was out and talking to a girl at a pub and there was no music so not a loud place and she insisted on coming closer to me as she talked. I dont know if it was me or the fragrance, it happened that night with following 4 girls too and this leather tonka bomb got me laid i guess.. Not overwhelming at all, just can't get enough of it. Peace!

Like @Molko said, this EDP is cremier than the EDT... I feel the leather and tonka notes more proeminent on this; also, the almondy touch is slighly stronger, giving it the "extra creamyness". On the other hand, to my nose the EDT leans more towards the incense, mainly on the drydown. Well, another discontinued masterpice, both EDT and EDP are way better than its inspiration (Bvlgari Black) and the new market-aimed L'Homme Ideal. Overall: 8,5 out of 10.

Now this one has a great combination. Leather, amber , tonka bean , tea and incense are dancing in the most unique way possibly could be imagined from the beginning to the end. You feel powdery and rubbery scent the same time. Longevity is good and projection is fair. Performance is getting better and better as the temperature starts to fall. 4/5 Age;+25 I love it

EDP>EDT, got both fragrances side by side and can compare them. I even got prada luna rossa black or bvlgarri black, they are all great, but there is something special in midnight in paris edp.. edt is good too, but edp is just more smother more balanced, less harsh if it makes any sence at all. Not worth the prices now, but if u can find it, grab it!

This is a very smooth, seductive fragrance with a mysterious and unique composition. The scent profile balances sweetness and powderiness perfectly, ensuring it's not overly feminine. The bottle design is a genuine masterpiece of perfumery art. Performance is great, offering something way more refined and interesting than many major houses.

I have both of them, the edt and the edp. The edp is richer and deeper, more dense, creamier. The projection is slightly better than the edt and lasts longer. The smell is very pleasant, sweet tonka with leather, everybody likes it. Definately unisex frag:) Could be use it also in the summer night (party or date)

Lush, creamy almond over powdery vanilla and soft leather. Notes of almost rubbery black tea meander in and out for the life of the fragrance. 7 Hour longevity and projection right at arm length. Wow Factor?: The creamy, buttery almond and tea. Very unique. Rating from Poor to Outstanding: Very Good, ****

Man this was a STEAL back then. Amazing performance- longevity is really long and smells really great. Don't let the leather opening fool you into not buying it, the dry down is where the money is. I definitely smell tea, incense and amber. Agree that the scent is quite similar to Bvlgari Black

Sexy, romantic, powdery. The huge list of notes might leave you to believe that this would be overwhelming, but in fact, it's as loving and unassuming a scent as I've ever come across. Unique enough to stand out, but pleasant enough to garner positive attention and compliments. 10/10

tested it in a shop today but I dont notice any difference between EDT and EDP version.from the scent point of view never at all.and dont detect any from projection and longevity.both project average to high and good longevity for 8 hours.

I tried this on from a sample vial thinking it was a women's scent....it did strike me as somewhat masculine so I looked it up here. As it dries down it smells so similar to Prada Candy! Or maybe Candy l'eau. How did that happen?

This is an excellent Benzoin ,Tea , Leather and Lemon scent. Great for date night, church or night out. It's unfortunate that it's discontinued. It really is well blended. The bottle itself is a work of art.

Amazing, amazing fragrance!! Guys that fragrance is just smooth. So well blended, perfect for fall and winter. I can't believe it that it is discontinued..... I need to get more bottles...such a loss

There are a few top notes in the EDP that are different from the EDT; a few floral touches, and a bit darker in the mid and base. Love them both to bits.

Totally love it! Really strong, silky sweet creamy but not too overpowering. Marvellous perfume and the perfect one for me. Stay 12++ hours on me.

Just got my bottle sealed pack but my atomizer keeps jumping off but it still sprays it seems the stem is broken, anyone else has this experience?

If Arpels brought this back, exact bottle presentation, exact smell...I’d end the drought in the western United States with tears of joy 😂 😂

What is it about this scent that never gets me tired of it, 10 years+ using this and still enjoying it.

The drydown reminds me of Burberry's Brit Rhythm for men, very nice scent!

Like others before me, I bought this as a blind buy based on opinions and reviews from members within the fragrance community. Once out of the box, it is quite possibly the most elegant and well-built bottle in my small but steadily growing collection (in hindsight, I probably did buy it because of its looks :p) I know MiP EDP is well-loved by a lot of fragrance loving people but to me it was not love at first smell (or sniff) as the opening after spraying was very intense, cloying in fact. It took me some time and many wears before one day, my opinion of it suddenly flipped 360. Out of the blue, I began to appreciate the short lived but very exciting citrusy opening, the leather which permeates the scent and eventually loads of creaminess & almonds! It became a classy and somewhat mysterious, sexy scent from then on (I can also imagine a classy woman wearing it as well). Perhaps the bottle needed some time to 'mature' if there is such a thing or my brain wasn't flipped on enough to know better. It is also a unique scent which is not commonly worn. To me, it works well with colder temperatures and definitely more suited for the darker hours due to its intensity. But I do wear it during the day when I feel like it. Ideally worn with a suit I think. Overall score, 9/10 with decent projection. It does last quite long, 8-10 hours on me. Now that it's discontinued, my hands are itching to get an additional bottle before it's gone for good. Maybe I should..

lady review / comparison: i keep trying the EDT and the EDP side by side and i honestly cannot tell the difference in projection or longevity. ...perhaps the EDT is a smidgeon more masculine/cologney, perhaps the leather in the EDP is more rubbery and there's a tad more creaminess. but really. no "significant" difference. last and project the same. just as sweet as each other. oh...and this is a beautiful leather, creamy, sweet, seductive perfume btw! (not tried bulgaria black.) it is quite dense...nothing light and fluffy about it...a skin scent mostly. perhaps the MIPs work different on a chap. i wouldn't consider this unisex, but who cares...if you like it girls, wear it! my faves are pretty much unisex, Iris Prima, Coromandel, terre d'iris...but Midnight in Paris to me is definitely a man strolling through Paris... I'm not sure i want either EDP or EDT...because manly perfumes smell quite, well "manly" on me (am carrying out a man test today, comparing the new and old lolita au masculin right now.) i would seriously recommend this to all chaps. it has all the parts perfectly put together, to make a beautiful complex leather evening man perfume. and it is such good value right now too.
