Rêve Elixir

I guess I am addicted to the "blind buys"... :) I don't know why, but I like this thrill from buying to opening new bottle. And I have to say, that was a perfect blind buy. Beautiful. Quite fruity at the beginning, then it calms down and somehow it reminds me clean linen, but in a really good way. Very pleasant. Feminine. It will be a great perfume for this summer :)

Fresh, soapy smell but elegant,modern,light... I really like this one actually!

I was expecting a fruity scent from all the reviews here but on my skin it's 100% floral and no fruit. But I'm not disappointed because it's feminine, friendly and warm. Good longevity and sits rather close to the skin which is what I want. My fragrance is for moi and not the whole world to smell ;)

Big fruity bomb. I can smell nothing but strong fruits. Maybe a bit of iris later on. Though it is summery scent, I recommend to use it sparingly, because stillage is quite heavy. Update: Fruits are a bit sour, so it's surely good for summer.

It's an alright fragrance, but I can't distinguish separate fruit notes. I guess it's suitable to wear when you don't know what you want to wear exactly.

I ordered this from my subscription service, despite the fact that I typically dislike neroli and lily, and sometimes frangipani (I dislike soapy florals on my skin, in general, and there's a lot of soapy florals listed here, lol). That's okay. Sometimes I like to walk on the wild side. On my tester sheet of bathroom tissue, I caught a blast of stone fruit (not pear, imo), so I sprayed my skin and it smelled exactly like maple syrup and prunes, a fruity, sugary, syrupy sort of thick smell. I padded around the house a bit thinking about prunes. Once in the heart of the scent, I found the fragrance had settled into soapy florals, stretching into powdery shampoo territory, but keeping its heart of stone fruit. You know, I'm surprised that this is leaning "clean" scent, and I do understand why one of the reviewers here said "dryer sheet", but depending on your skin, the sweetness and initial syrup quality may help you here. One reviewer below said "raspberry", and I can totally see that. Probably more accurate than "prune", lol. I think I prefer this one in its first, maple syrup moments--as it settles, it sinks into a pretty unremarkable clean scent. At this point in my collecting, I do like something unique and distinct to remember, and I'm afraid this is a bit forgettable. Probably why it was available via my subscription service, lol. Update: Too soapy for me. You need to like soapy florals.

This is a sad cacophony. I love the accord of osmanthus, pear, peach blossom and frangipani. Unfortunately the beautiful fruity, juicy core of this scent is drowned under (unlisted!) aldehydes, the fabric softener kind. The neroli makes it too bitter, and the iris powdery when it doesn't need to be. It could have blossomed into something so gorgeous, it's a real pity.

Fabric softener O.D. Positively migraine-inducing. I'd feel really bad for an asthmatic forced to sit next to someone that has oversprayed this on public transport.

i used to date this girl who was just extremely picky when it came to.... well anything really, parfumes, clothes, food, hotels...not in a snobby obnoxious way though, she was just an artist with a hell of a taste and never put a foot wrong with her style choices. we took this ferry from germany to danemark once, and ended up testing and discussing pretty much every female scent we had any interest testing in a surprisingly huge onboard duty free... reve elixir is the one we ended up buying for her. it is that good, and that balanced. classy, safe, high quality and feminine without beying a cliche. i could have swear there is some raspberry in it too, so i was surprised by the notes, listing pear as the only fruit. i can assure you , you will smell the whole lot more fruit than pear. you will smell the whole orchard (but in a classy, not too much in the face way) ive read some says its "too fruity", i for sure have to agree to disagree on that. first of all, with that level of class, i dont think that it is "too" of anything. and second of all, there is nothing wrong with a parfume having a clear and unquestionable direction to go. this one is going to the seductive garden of fruits (just came to think, the bottle also resembles an apple, how symbolic:) and from a man's perspective, I can assure you it works very well. hopefully, the girl you are with is already someone "delicious" in your mind, but this scent will just push the story even more in that direction (if you will excuse this slightly suggestive comment) finally , turning back to the bottle, as you would expect from the company behind the genius "midnight in paris" bottle, this one is also very very pretty, jewelry-like, and for that reason (and also for the general mass-appeal) i think it can be a great (and safe) gift idea for the special lady in your life.

This was my first ever "big girl" perfume. As in, this was the first perfume I ever bought for myself with my own money. I remember very clearly. I had just moved into my first apartment in college with my roommates. I was, and still am, a huge fan of pear fragrances. I can't remember if I found this one on Fragrantica or if I purchased it blindly off Fra gra n ce net due to the lovely bottle. Immediately, I was in love. This fragrance does not scream sophistication. However, it was much more subdued than the Bethany Mota and Le Monde Gourmand fragrances in my collection at the time. It is a beautiful juicy pear (and possibly other fruits) with a nice soapy, floral dry down. Similar to the soapy florals in Idole Now, but with a tad more greenness. It was a perfect, affordable signature scent for me back then. I don't wear it as much now because my scent profile has evolved. However, when I do wear Reve Elixir, I get the perfect blast of nostalgia. I agree with @martinfjord. This fragrance truly is for someone who enjoys a balanced, classy, safe, high-quality, and feminine fragrance that is not a cliche.

I retested this one again because the first time it was not love at first sniff but today it was a revelation. If you adore the original Rêve, you will appreciate this flanker, although it is really a different character : wheras Rêve is an ethereal romantic beauty, Rêve Elixir is a much warmer, sensual sister due to the richer drydown of iris, sandalwood and amber and gives me a much more peachy, velvet sillage. Both are really wondrrful, i am very much tempted to acquire the Elixir version, though i already have the Rêve. And the bottle is extremely nice, which is off course a big plus :-)

upon first spray, i can smell only fruit. this was a blind buy from me and i'm not sure how i feel about this one. there is an element of sweetness which is almost sickly, syrupy and it reminds me of lychee but i cant give a review on longevity or sillage because even though ive just sprayed 4 times on myself, i cant smell it. i'm sure its there but i just cant detect it. is this what anosmic? is? if the outcome changes i will update. was hoping for iris but as i smell nothing this is a big ask. i have a brand new 50 ml bottle, an unsuccessful blind buy.

Sophisticated, powerful and fruity. I'm a big fan of VCaA and this is no exception. I certainly smell pear but also some citrus on top of the florals. Very nice.

Fruit much? Just fruit, I wanted to feel the woodsy notes. But no...not on me, just fruit. Sweet fruit, nice, but very simple and non layered.
