Thé Amara

This is very refreshing! It is for your hottest summer days. It is citrusy with a tea note. I detect almost no sweetness, but this is a brand new bottle, and it could change with time after it settles. There is a dewy and floral aspect to Florabotanica that is in this as well, but slightly. There is mint, but it is extremely tame, and all it does is give a cooling effect, you might notice it in the periphery, or you might not. It is simple and understated, with an elegance. Longevity and sillage are to be decided at a later update, but I can already tell that they are quite good especially for a fresh perfume. Update: I was initially underwhelmed when I first tried this fragrance, disappointed even. I now have a backup because I never want to be without it. It’s so beautiful on the skin, and it is quite the compliment getter. Longevity and sillage are moderate, but stronger than most freshies! 2nd update: Amazingly, I have received at least a compliment, and sometimes more than one, each and every time I have worn this! Neroli amara and delina exclusif are the only other fragrances that guarantee a compliment. Backup bottle worthy! The ratings this gets are criminal. This is how I do summer in a bottle. There is a slight sweetness from the sweet pea note, that I can sometimes detect. the longevity and sillage are still really good!

Thé Amara's opening shifts with the air around it. In humid heat, it unfurls, or rather sharpens—peppery, almost like the prickle of pine needles and the cool sting of dry tea leaves. But in cooler air, it’s discernibly smoother, bring about a wind, almost cooling, of biting mint. Bergamot is the ever-present anchor, lending that unmistakable fresh lift, while lively sweet pea peeks through in curiosity, adding a delicate, soft yet intriguing touch. At its core though, this is a distinctly earl grey fragrance—even with that pleasant touch of piperine (peppery nuance) present in certain black teas. Lightly sharp, awakening, and ever so refreshing. That contrast is what makes it so darn beautiful. Herbaceous, aromatic, with a dash of florality elegant and crisp. Truly, Thé Amara is a most effortless freshie that thrives in warmth, where its notes diffuse out and bloom as a breath of tea-steamed air in a sunlit garden.

Here I am with my latest review of The Amara by Van Cleef. Walking through the store I stumbled upon this absolute gem. It is a very fresh juicy scent that has a citrusy (almost) tangy feel to it in the first stage. It is definitely perfect for summer or spring. It gave me an immediate positive feeling. And it is quite similar to its sister Neroli Amara. I would say this was an absolute winner from all the scents I tried. It caught my attention in seconds and made me want to smell my wrist every time I got a whiff of it. Hands down Van Cleef perfumes are one of the best ones out on the market this is also a crowd winner as it is not offensive and smells clean. The dry down is the most interesting part though, as it dries down to a more sweet floral scent. I did not expect it to happen yet it add a nice touch to it. It becomes a nice sweet-ish skin scent.

I love it! It’s peppery, green and citrusy but at the same time it has a very soft and rounded woody base with lots of powdered musky notes. The pink pepper note (as well as rose) is quite strong here so for me it smells more like Le Labo Rose 31 rather than tea scent. But I still enjoy it a lot! Follow me on ig: scent.guide

It reminds me of sipping Earl Grey tea and eating fruit in a garden full of flowers in bloom. My housemate, who dislikes perfume, stunned me when he said it smells "Really nice". It is indeed really nice.

I admit that I underestimated this scent, expecting an underwhelming, run-of-the-mill freshie. In fact, Thé Amara is a beautifully-composed if understated scent. A fresh, aromatic tea scent bolstered by delicate floral and woody nuances that emerge as it progresses, it is pleasant throughout. The tea note is put to good use here - initially prominent, it later complements the other notes to perfection, making for a cohesive scent made with high-quality, natural-smelling ingredients. TA opens with the aforementioned tea note, refreshing and herbal, somewhat restorative. It is complemented by a bright, fresh mint note, which is nicely (and uncharacteristically) restrained. I get a lot of bergamot, making for an Earl Grey effect. The opening is wonderfully aromatic and green, underscoring the florals that follow with freshness. As it develops, it remains fresh and green. I get a realistic sweet pea note, sweet and airy. Soft musky rose follows, giving way to the base. It fades to a woody, musky skin scent with aromatic green freshness remaining until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A very decent spring/summer feminine-leaning scent, TA is pleasant and realistic throughout. Subtle, fresh and feminine, this warm weather elegance in a bottle. 4/5.

Gosh darn it... I got a free sample of this from someone on Mercari when I bought a different fragrance from them. I'm sad to report that it was love at first sniff and that I might be pining after a full bottle now. Don't get me wrong, I love free samples, but man, these random scents can't just be popping up out of nowhere and wrecking my wallet like this! >:( There's something in this that reminds me of the tea that is served at dim sum restaurants—something almost reminiscent of chrysanthemum. It's most prominent in the initial spray but sadly fades into the background over time. While I "like" this scent, what would really push it to a "love" would be if that initial ~something~ lasted the entire time.

It smells like wanting to dress up and going to brunch at an elegant restaurant on a Saturday morning. Makes one think of cool, clean, and crisp air. A very pleasant scent indeed.

An aromatic, green, softly fresh juicy rose scent. I also get Florabotanica resemblance. Thé Amara is not a dupe, but they have their similarities.

Smells similar to Eau Rhubarbe Hermes with a tea note. I think many will like it a lot!

18. July 2025 I read all the glorious reviews for this fragrance and I wonder if I am the problem? I tried this perfume and I was very confused why they charge 170euros for such an almost non-detectable scent? I tried it on a paper and on my skin and both tests released a very weak sillage and lasting power of this fragrance. I do not get any resemblance to EA green tea, Not at all close to Florabotanica, all those "reminds me of" I do not get at all. It is probably the closest to Bulgaris White tea parfumee and Green the parfumee mix. Its not your typical green tea fragrance, its a very shy, sharp tea fragrance, honestly absolutely nothing outstanding in any way, especially for this price. I cannot even write much about it, that much of a disappointment it was. I would say its very unisex and even more appropriate for a guy to wear, I guess it is more fitting for a guy.

a touching, gentle and mesmerizing green perfume. the spiciness of the pink pepper and mint never fail to amaze me every spray. also, very few people know VCA perfumes so this won't be a common one. on my skin it lasts for 10-12 hours but i wish it has stronger sillage. I use perfume primer before every spray to boost the SPL stronger. overall, it's expensive but worth it!

As a strong fresh and citrus scent lover I adore this! The most refreshing green tea scent, I like it a lot more than EA green tea. It can be used all year around especially in hot summer days. EA Green tea is more floral while CA The Amara is more refreshing and citrusy.

It’s okay. Not a love or a hate, just not my kind of fragrance and is easily forgettable to me. I get a lot of tea, mint, citrus and some rose. It’s fresh and green. Not the best projection, in high heat that is, stays close to the skin with moderate lasting power.

The tea in the opening is delightful: delicate and fresh. A couple of hours later though the heavy musk (I presume it's cashmeran, it reminds me of the musk in Dans tes Bras) takes the stand and doesn't leave until your head is exploding. Must sample first!

The opening is amazing. Very natural citrus with some mint. However, the dry down smells very sweet, powdery and feminine. I can no longer smell any citrus after about a half hour. I can tell this is a high quality fragrance but, it's not for me

I am really curious about this one. I want to buy it, but I don't like roses in perfume. How present is the rose here? Can you actually smell it separately as arose and not just generic flowers?

After i got this and tried it i was like "cmon now man🤦" . Its unique , its fresh and it might smell good but it smells exactly like the cream i use to massage my grandma's feet every night 💀.
