Ordered this direct from the Dutch parent company website & package arrived in UK the next day! As a great fan of all Van Gils fragrances (and clothing) Live does not disapoint. Very subtle vanilla & patchouli,similar to Tendenza for Men but not as sweet. Body products are also excellent. Added: having worn this for a while it has a haunting similarity to Xeryus Rouge by Givenchy but with more leather. Although not listed in pyramid I can detect a cherry pipe tobacco note,maybe the oud wood? Vanilla base is "rough" not sweet,compliments grapefruit perfectly. Longevity is excellent,6 hours+ on my skin,longer on clothing. Have been asked "What is that fragrance? etc." and received many compliments.

1 sentence; sex in a bottle! First Van Gils frag I like & wow I love it. It's very spycy on a leather background. Nothing sweet but pure, masculine male scent. Sort of a fresher M7 (Yves Saint Laurent) married with a newer, fresher Zino (Davidoff)Only for the patchouli touch though. Staying power is like one day on clothes if spraying 6,10 times yet as most eau de toilettes. I surely do recommend the perfumed deodorant spray for a better lasting. Especially as it is pretty cheap. The perfumed shower gel also is very nice. Not the perfect summer fresh fragrance but fantastic for evening & hooking up:-) hope they will keep on making it

Classic male scent. Glad i bought it, really safe and high quality scent to wear at work. The smell of seriousness!

When I was looking for new fragrances today, I noticed this new fragrance. There was a small banner and from a distance it looked like tobacco leaves. I was curious about this new one by Van Gils, considering they have released a new fragrance less than a year ago. So I took in the first whiff and immediately 'oud' went through my mind. Even though it's listed as one of the basenotes, it is present in a very strong way. The second note I picked up almost immediately after that was leather. I had experienced this combination before in AdP's Colonia Intensa Oud, where I liked it very much. I kept smelling the paper strip and after 10 minutes I decided to throw the strip away come back again for this one, to give it a full and extensive skin test. Van Gils has never really impressed me but this one got my attention straight away. The bottle is reminiscent of the classic Van Gils, but don't let that fool you. This is a more modern scent.

Unexpected and interesting scent! I haven't smelled a perfume similar to this, although this could be accounted for by the fact that I haven't smelled that many perfumes in total, compared to the average member here. Since I'm a bit familiar with all the notes listed, except oud, I suppose that note is what makes it smell like something else than what I could imagine from the note list. My impression is that there is some modern-perfumey feeling airy vanilla-violet-like overlay going on, while at the same time underneath there is the scent of some wood soaked and impregnated in coffe and smeared with cut grapefruit. The violet-ish thing going on, is to me reminiscent of a violet flavored candy pastille common at least in Sweden. I can smell it from bout an inch some 8 hours after spraying on my arm. I find it good, interesting and unusual smelling if also a bit tiring after a while.

This is all oud, nothing subtle here. As I cannot stand that note, it's a strong dislike for me. Quality/price-ratio and performance are excellent.

This is very masculine scent. Mature,sexy,elegant,tipe scent.Very close to TF Oud Wood. Longevity 6-8h Projection strong first 1.5-2h. 10€ 75 ml at Action shops in Amsterdam (new bottle design 2019)
