Archimede In Love

Rarely does a new brand impress me as much as Velvetvelo did. These are all easy to understand and enjoy fragrances, not trying to push the envelope, and yet they clearly don't cater too hard to modern tastes. They're rich in great quality essential oils, which leave a nice shiny film on your skin once applied. You will not detect the offensive basenotes of modern perfumery in here. The four fragrances that I had the pleasure of testing are chic and were a definite joy to wear. Archimede in Love is imho a perfectly balanced modern chypre. There's definitely more to it than the notes mentioned above. They mention raspberry, but there's def not just the fruit. I'd guess it's the raspberry leaf and geranium combo that's responsible for Archimede's sultry chypre tartness. Thanks to the deft marriage of floral notes the scent is airy and abstract, not smelling of any flower in particular. Albeit not the same, it brings to mind the greats of the past like Beyond Paradise or Tommy Girl. If I were to search for sth modern to compare it to it'd be Gabrielle, but I like it more that the Chanel for being less uptight. It's a happy fragrance that makes one feel optimistic, but is not naiive or infantile. Oh, and due to the transparency and overall naturalness, I don't feel self-conscious wearing Archimede as a man, even though it's a traditionally feminine structrure. Worth checking out!

It’s not as flowery as the pyramid looks like, it definitely has an aquatic feeling to it, I’d say it’s watery fruity. Very fresh, not really powdery, definitely feminine.
