Rock Princess 2023

I tried this today and was so pleasantly surprised that I bought it! (It's very very affordable). I have no original fragrance to compare to, so this is someone who is entirely new to the whole Vera Wang Princess line. The mix of peach and ylang ylang in the top notes make it punchy- like the party drink AND also a little bit of a punch in the face lol because it does smell alcoholic for about 30 seconds. Then I definitely get white floral and already the night blooming jasmine in the mid notes. In fact, before I read the notes, I described the white floral as "dark, like under the moonlight", so I was right! And it lasts a long time too, with the base notes giving it some good grounding. Overall, this is a peachy, fresh white floral with a warm, comforting base. But the fresh isn't a "bright early morning" type of fresh. It's like a fresh night breeze. Definitely strictly night time or outdoors perfume for me, as I tried wearing to work and it was NOT the same experience, in fact I didn't like it- too powdery inside. Meanwhile, wearing out for dinner at night in summer... *chefs kiss*. I feel this will be amazing for a spring night though, or a picnic. I think if this fragrance were called Emo Princess or Scene Princess, as the bottle and even the smell suggests, people would have loved it. I can totally see introverted alt girls wearing this. One downside: the sprayer sucks! It projectile sprays at you rather than misting the perfume. I've found that may affect the top notes, hence alcoholic smell? but that's all. Edit: layering this with green fragrances (e.g. mugler Aura EDT) makes it very white floral garden-like. It makes me think of a beautiful white wedding in a fancy garden venue. Also layering this with something more sweet and sugary like Burberry Brit makes a really interesting mix of powdery floral and fruity sugar, which makes me think strongly of the colour pastel purple for some reason?

I just came to say I'm one of the few that loves this fragrance. I even bought the body spray, lotion and shower gel to match. When I first spray I can immediately detect the powder, which I already adore. Then the slightly sweet and dry peach and ylang-ylang. After about 30 seconds, still retaining it's light powdery sweetness, the peach and flowers mix with the sandalwood and amber, it smells so, so good. I don't get vanilla and the rose isn't heavy either. The night blooming jasmine gives Rock Princess a robust scent profile, which I guess can people are saying it's tire rubber? Aftershave? Penis?? But it comes off more as a powdery boozy floral as it stays on my skin. It goes on strong at first, then settles down, and last about 4 hours on my skin. I also have the original Rock Princess, that one is more dark berries, creamy and lotion like, but this one is a bit more unique; the aroma is almost the same; just powder, florals & amber. This also is like a younger lady being introduced to booze at a party for the first couple of times. Regardless of who it's marketed towards, I adore this fragrance. If you want a musky, powdery boozy floral this is it!

I tried this today at my local drugstore cause they had a huge stack of sample cards (the ones you peel and sniff) and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this. It’s not groundbreaking or a favorite but I think it’s a perfect work fragrance for rose girlies. It’s not too loud, but it’s still beautiful and has a softness that makes it easy to wear. I’m probably gonna grab a 1.7 of this. For the price, I think it’s a good investment for my office job.

Opening notes of watching a scene kid trying to eat a cologne bottle at your local skate park, before dying down to the elegant and refined scent of Larry the Cucumber in a tuxedo. Perfect for your edgy teenage child who thinks listening to Iron Maiden makes them a hardcore metalhead, less so for your frail old grandmother who hates sunshine and gay people. Would recommend, love it, wearing it around my friends until they accept that this is the new me.

Got a mini of this alongside Princess. Never tried the original, so I can't compare. I really like this!! On me, it's predominantly fruity and slightly powdery. It dries down to a smoky-ish scent with that subtle fruity scent. I was worried it would be overpowering, but it's really pleasant! So happy with it.

i got this for christmas and made an account here just to review it... at first i found it kind of boring, just kind of inoffensive and sweet, but it's growing on me. peach, rose and jasmine definitely shine through in this one. i wouldn't say this is an 'edgy' fragrance as the marketing suggests, just that it's edgy when compared to the original princess and its offshoots because of the fuzzy wood and musk undertones. it shares the original princess DNA, but more powdery and musky, and the notes are blended a bit more (i can't really make out anything other than peach rose and jasmine enveloped in powdery musk). someone else says it smells like road rubber and i do understand where they're coming from but i dont get that entirely, from the edt anyway. i don't own the body mist but i have sampled it in the shop and i would say the burnt rubber smell is more prevalent in the body mist. it smells strongly of creaming soda when you first spray it, and occasionally while it's drying down it smells similar to a church (i don't mean the dusty, centuries-old musty smell, i mean the smell of frankincense or myrrh or whatever else they use to mask the natural musk of the building). don't let that deter you from buying this though, that's my nose and the creaming soda and church smell lasts for seconds at most. it's not very strong to me but then again i have a hard time picking up fragrances that aren't overpowering or strong. lasting power is okay, after 3-4 hours it just smells generically sweet which is to be expected. don't worry about overspraying, the initial creaming soda fades pretty quickly and it's quite cheap. it's a pleasant and versatile scent and i think it could be worn day and night, but would be suited more to colder weather. i quite like it. it's sophisticated, dark and mature, but soft and pretty at the same time. some view the princess scents as juvenile and while this is perfectly fine for a teenager i don't think this scent or the original princess for that matter is syrupy sweet or overly girly as is often associated with "teen girl" perfumes. the bottle on the other hand... tacky and not cohesive next to my original princess bottle. the bottle IS ugly, to me, but i'm not someone who really cares about that. should note that i don't own rock princess 2009 so i can't say if this measures up to its predecessor. overall this is a win. inexpensive, versatile, nothing groundbreaking or eyerolling about it but if you like well-blended powdery scents and especially if you like rose perfumes give this one a try. this is slowly becoming my everyday perfume and i think it's nice on its own and layered with a little bit of the original princess. i like it a lot!!

Feminine, chic, and cool with a hint of dark. I would have never guessed the smell from the notes: It opens with peach fuzz and ylang-ylang. The fragrance is soft and lotiony. Up close, I can smell the amber base. The lily of the valley adds a green, sophisticated touch. After 20 minutes, the perfume warms up to the skin, and the rose comes out. The rose is tart and plum-like. The jasmine is dry the backbone of the perfume. Everything sits on top of the jasmine now. The lotv and peach have exited the scene. There is hardly any vanilla to be found. This princess can be found in near-empty bars. She wears black gowns to balls and paints her nails to match. She exudes quiet confidence. If your eyes meet, she won't look away first. I understand what Vera Wang meant when she said Rock Princess (2023) is for music lovers of all ages. The perfume inside is unlike its youthful paint splatter bottle. You could wear this to the office or a formal event. Rock Princess could be the "daughter" of Jean Patou's Sublime. It smells vintage but new.

Rollercoaster of emotions with this. I sprayed in a shop just for fun not expecting anything good. The first spray I thought this is disgusting it smells just like beer or some kind of fermentation . HOWEVER once it had dried down it transformed and smells actually kind of chic and classy, which is not at all what I expected especially after the first disgusting spray . I washed my hands and I could still smell where I’d sprayed it so staying power is pretty good . I actually rly ended up liking it- it’s sweet , powdery and soft but also slightly laundry detergent ish but a specific one I can’t think of. Edit: after having a while I just can’t stand this and had to throw it out. The dry down is fine BUT I just could not get past the initial spray smelling like rotten beer , like for me to persevere with it it would have to be truly outstanding but it’s not . It is cheap but save ur money

Opening I get mens oceanic powdery woods aftershave, sweet fuzzy peach juice, ylang-ylang. Roses with a dark, mossy, bitter undercurrent. Like church incense with a hint of tyre rubber on asphalt and soft vanilla suede leather. The powdery peach woods part reminds me of Lancome Tresor, worn by mysteriously dark forest fairies. The body spray is fruitier and less powdery. The matt painted bottle feels cheap and creepy to touch. The paint chips and scratches in your bag with keyring or hard items. The graphic design looks very literal like what a 12 year old made in 10 minutes using early photoshop.

I don't know WHAT is going on with this.... this smells nothing like the original Princess, and it doesn't really smell like a rock version of princess either... nor does it smell like any of the notes listed? I'm picking up lime and pear, I'm also picking up literal beer and also the smell of an actual PENIS? but it's not unpleasant... it's interesting.. it doesnt smell high class or designer, it smells quite tacky like cheap hotel room sex... I quite like it.

honestly it smells the same way i do after i have like 6 vodka lemonades. i dont get the hate i think its nice

mostly fresh rose with that Princess DNA in the dry down. I'm not getting any fruit or yellow floral, which I'm a little disappointed by. the sandalwood is about the only thing 'rock' about this...I was hoping for something grittier, edgier, dirtier. by no means is this a "bad" fragrance, it's very pleasant and ideal for those who like a classic floral; it lasts maybe 5 hours tops on skin with a whispering, intimate sillage. not my fave rose in my collection, but it's a good cheapie for those days when I want to smell frilly and elegant without making it so obvious.

This is ok. It's not bad but it's not particularly pleasant either. It does have a nice realistic jasmine note that truly does smell like a garden at night, but in large part it's just alcohol and musk. It is very, very dark, but in a "flat" way. The original Vera Wang Princess in the purple bottle is a far better scent, even though this one pulls more weight.

I just got this for my birthday despite asking for an Ariana Grande perfume. At first, it smelt like aftershave, then it died down to a smell of rubbing alcohol mixed with a nasty vanilla-beer scent. If you're thinking of getting this for your child, please don't, it literally smells like a sleezy 46-year-old man who works at a nightclub.

Smells like road rubber.... Skid marks n the best way possible. It's an acquired taste and l guess my roommates just aren't there yet.

I don't know how explain the scent other than sour quiet strange really

I got the perfume as a gift. When I first smelled it, it was ok, and I thought it was pretty unisex since it reminded me of an aftershave. I decided to use it again after a week, and let me tell you...I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS PERFUME. It smells exactly like my cat's saliva or when you drool in your pillow and wake up in the morning and realize you have to put it in the washer. Absolutely, I cannot get over the fact that it smells like saliva. I hate it. I hate it. Then I waited another week, and it got worse. I used it as a room sprayer, and HOLY, it's so disgusting. I think I made my room smell like I hadn't cleaned it in a year. Usually with perfume I don't like, I can see the appeal, but not for this one. NOT FOR THIS ONE AT ALL!! I cannot imagine passing by someone wearing this and thinking "oh that smells kinda nice". NO, I would think they have to get in the shower ASAP. This perfume is pure torture :(

I have the body mist and it lasts pretty long on me, I can put it on in the morning and be told I smell nice even after I get home (do mind i hold the bottle pretty close and spray in one spot beneath my clothes, I don't think it would last as well on bare skin). Opening notes can be a little harsh, the initial spray is a chemical blast, but after that its fruity and i definitely smell the peach, then it dries down to roses with other florals, and finally just a warm, powdery scent. People saying that this is perfect for alt teenagers are right, it matches my vibe perfectly and I love it!!

There’s nothing rock about this, well, not the leather, rum and cigarette smoke version of rock. But this does remind me deeply, deeply of the 1990s grunge era. So much so that it should be called Grunge - smells exactly like a 90s music fan did in the day, doused in Fuzzy Peach and White Musk perfume oils from the Body Shop and designer imposter versions of the pre-reformulated Tresor, plus a spritz of their mother’s Anais Anais thrown in. This is such a nostalgia trip. I’ve never been a fan of the Wang releases but I wound up buying a full bottle - a steal at $29 tor 100ml.

Pretty little simple cheapie🥰 Nothing with WOW factor but definitely nice and mass appealing I believe. Very light and not really a long laster but perfect for middle school/high school girls daily grab where they might not want to be scent bombs in class but want to smell clean and non-offensive. Although it’s not on the notes this is very floral-green apple-coded. I smell green apple more than anything! 🍏💐 For $15 it’s a safe buy.
