Sexy Garrigue

I purchased the 6 piece sample set for her and expected to like Sexy Garrigue least, but I was very wrong. Sweet amber/vanilla, but not too sweet. Spicy, but not too spicy. A bit of lovely herbal/green to add some freshness. Love labdanum always and love it here. Patchouli is there, but light, in the base. I thought this would be too masculine, but find it perfectly unisex. It reminds me a bit of the dry down of the more resinous Chanel Les Exclusifs - Le Lion, Rue 31 Cambon. Not at all like the opening, but the dry down of those, which is what I love most with the addition of a little herbal freshness. Although it is resinous, sweet and spicy, it is also fresh and light enough to be worn on summer nights, I think. It's so good. If you want beast mode fragrance, this isn't it, although I don't yet know how it will perform in spring/summer heat. It projects more than Le Point G and Noire de Mai, but not as much as Sur la Plage. I don't find any of them to be beast mode, but they are extremely high quality, beautiful, and create a lovely scent bubble that I notice most when I am in motion. Eau du Jour and Eau Da La Nuit are the perfumes intended for layering, but I like Sexy Garrigue layered with Noire de Mai more. Full bottle worthy for me (discounted). Bad news for my bank account that several of them are. I'm afraid to smell the entire line!

Another Veronique Gabai, that I just love! Based on the notes, I thought it would lean more masculine. It can, but not necessarily. Ah, this is sexy. This is less syrupy than Killian's Angel's Share. They share that sweet spicy a tad smokey Brandy vibe, but not suffocating or heavy. This is soOo deliciously seductive. I wasn't expecting to like it this much. •All day fall/winter wear. Its warm and cozy. •For spring/summer more of an evening wear to dinner/date. •Its an any time of year make love wear. ...or to walk passed your ex or the cutie at your coffee shop looking snached kinda scent (.^‿~.) ♡ On my top favorites for sexy evening fragrances. A little goes a long way and its lasting power is a good 6-8 hrs. I'm in my cloud of yumminess all day. Hope this helps ツ Update: For the most part, I don't like to read comments, so I can form my own opinion and not get influenced. On that note, I just read the comment below mine that says it smells like Angel's Share as I mentioned in my review. Ha, love it. (◠‿◠✿) I do, however, like this one a lot better because as I've mentioned before its lighter and a more easy wear. Angel's Share I like a lot, but since its so thick, it makes it strictly cold weather.

Absolutely fantastic. I cannot stop spraying this. I don't really get the generic “amber” and “resin” notes that are listed. Smells of sweet, dark liquors on breath or left out in rocks glass, like cognac, brandy / red wine and spice to me. reminding me very much of the beginning of Amouage Sunshine, which has black currant and almond. I also smell plums, salty olives, other dried over-ripe fruits, resins, light patchouli - no smoke, a bit of cinnamon. I do not compare this at all to Serge Lutens’ Feminite Du Bois - this is way more boozy and deep- the only similarity is maybe the dash of spice. I need to try Angel’s Share, especially if the longevity is better. My partner can smell this all day on me but I cant pick it up except whiffs here and there after 30 minutes. I really like this but for the extraordinary price, not sure it’s worth the spend. Edit - I tried angel’s share and I see the similarities but look. This is SO much better. In my humble opinion only. And I think they’re ridiculously overpriced, so this is worth a try.

I love this perfume. It has fantastic silage and it really lasts, rich and warm and spicy. I was troubled by the seemingly incomplete scent tree, though, so went onto Veronique Gabai dot com. to see if I could find more. Because I was definitely smelling things not listed here or on the site from which I got mine. On the website, they list these notes: Mandarin, Ciste labdanum, Patchouli, Vetiver, Honeycomb, Vanilla, and Amber. These are the listed ethically sourced ingredients: Pink Pepper, Patchouli, Vanilla, Vetiver, Honeycomb. I still knew I was smelling cinnamon, and sure enough, in the chemical breakdown of ingredients they list Cinnamyl Alcohol and coumarin. Otherwise, they have the exact same descriptive as is printed above, "Night falls . . . " The sweet but not too sweet note is the honey. And there is definitely cinnamon in this. I don't know why they don't put the entire tree on there. Good selling points. Oh, well. This one is definitely a keeper! I'm very happy with it. It is, dare I say it, sexy.

Light spicy patchouli on a moderate syrup bed of resinous balsamic amber, slightly sandy/powdery with a touch of green pine. I’ve smelled this type of Amber many times and I am always a sucker for them. This one though is legitimately sexy, there’s a current running through this one that is incredibly sensual. It’s not too much spice or resin. Just the right balance of vanilla Amber goodness with enough depth to keep the experience interesting. This reminds me of many ambers before it but it’s closest to Taklamakan from SHL777 but with less of a sandy feel. I very much enjoy that one but I prefer Sexy Garrigue over this style of Amber.

Does anyone else get a boozy fruit smell? I thought of rum raisin when I first opened the box my decant came in. With the notes listed on here I thought this would lean completely masucline but there's a feminine sweetness and slight fruitiness to this one. Still, I would consider it overall a unisex scent. I also smell a guerlinade-esque accord to this. Can someone tell me if they smell vanilla too or do I need to get my nose checked for smelling all these notes that aren't there? This is not a shalimar dupe but if you took out shalimar's powdery notes and replaced shalimar's spices with herbs, I can see how the two could be related. If you like shalimar I think you could appreciate this fragrance.

Opens with a powdery, bright fluff of pine and spicy resins. Very quickly (15-20 min) changes into a one-dimensional cinnamon candy. It has that spicy freshness, and a quite a lot of sweetness. I like sweet fragrances, but there's something sickening about this combo of sugar and fresh woods. Loved it on paper, but on skin, it doesn't smell the same. Performance is also poor. Byredo 1996 is listed as top comp, and that has dusty Iris in it, which confirms my suspicion that Sexy Garrigue might also contain unlisted Iris/Orris. 7.5/10 For something in a similar vein, although not comparable, I'd say try Serge Lutens Feminite Du Bois. Fresh spicy woods, some light florals, almost no sweetness.

So I picked this up after sampling it at Zgo and I wasn't sure what I got myself into for real, except that it was a standout on the day I went searching for a new fall/winter fragrance. Anyway, putting it on today and it initially feels a little faint and you wonder if it's even on at all. Did I spend a lot for something I'll have to spray on like crazy? Yes, it seems like that's true. I have had instances where it's at least made it to the car but it's a nice one if you want to wear it early in the day and use something else at night I guess and it holds up well day or not.

This type of scent is a core memory for me. Sexy Garrigue reminds me of a more dry, intense version of Obsession by Calvin Klein, a scent my beloved godmother wore daily. In fact, the similarities between the two are enough that I would argue you could wear Obsession in the day and transition to this fragrance for evening very seamlessly. It is powerful and intoxicating.

Sprayed once, and then again after 10 minutes since projection wasn’t the greatest. Definitely heavy amber with the Labdanum and wood resins. A peppery, leathery, masculine leaning middle, and finally a touch of sweet with the patchouli toward the end (close to skin after 4hrs). The last phase is really, really nice. Not for me, but I can appreciate it.

Soooo, I guess nobody is going to mention that this fragrance closely resembles Angel's Share? If you have AS, you won't need SG. Spicy opening with lots of cinnamon, resin and then amber. It was a blind buy.

Last summer I visited a perfume boutique in Orlando and the woman owner made suggestions as to what I would like and gave me many paper test strips to sample. Not liking any of them, I felt somewhat frustrated (and she was a little herself). Don’t you just love it when they stand there and watch you. While she was assisting another customer checking out, a handsome forty something Russian couple came in and made themselves comfortable on the leather sofa. They called out to the owner so I figured they were friends. I asked the pretty woman what was her favorite perfume here and she told me emphatically, Sexy Garrigue. I ordered a sample and purchased a full bottle the next day. It is sexy alright with the beautiful resin notes so well blended. I’m satisfied with its performance as well. So happy the boutique owner’s lady friend made this suggestion because I would never have found it on my own. I have to add this because it’s a funny weird thing. As I was paying the male owner enough money for this lovely perfume, he criticized me for going to the high-end mall in Orlando to buy any perfume. He said they were all junk. I found that hilarious!

Quite pleasant, if a bit simple. An amber that stresses labdanum, properly, over the too often overused vanilla. Has some nice lightly spicy notes - this is by no means Ambre Sultan, but there’s some cinnamon. More interestingly, there’s some pine and green herbal notes, and a bit of patchouli dirt, that bring up the garrigue- this stuff almost manages a genuine sense of place.- you can imagine catching a whiff of this walking the south of France in summer. The corollary of that is that, like too many contemporary perfumes, it prioritizes place over time, doesnt really develop, and feels in some ways more like a room scent than a perfume. But most people would like this I think, even if not knocked out by it. Even the (not too excessive) sweetness has a honey feel, rather than the icky maltol, though it does outlast some of the more interesting notes....this thing is at its best upfront, like most room scents. Overpriced...but thats almost every thing these days.

This is one of the most beautiful amber fragrances I've smelled, although this amber is not thick, even with the fixative of labdanum. Blend is a 10. Projection is mild to moderate, longevity is excellent. Unobtrusive and professional. Easy reach fragrance. The first adjective I thought of when I first sprayed this fragrance is delicious. I would hesitantly say 30 years and over, although not required. Best suited for a professional on a date. Most fragheads would scoff at this fragrance because of the light sillage, but in my opinion this is for people that usually don't wear fragrances, and want an extra feel good boost before they go to the office or are getting ready for a date.

I didn't get Plum in Cognac here at all. That one started as stale ashes on me and dried to a gorgeous tobaccoy plum vanilla. Sexy Garrigue is completely lacking in the fruit notes. What I get is nearly pure labdanum with a tiny hint of screechy wood aromachemical in the back, but it doesn't come up enough to make me scrub this. It's a perfect autumn scent; deep rich ambery cistus labdanum with a golden feel, some of the cinnamon spice elements true labdanum can have and a gentle woody feel. Great.

Skin .... This is very skin-like blend with it's musk, slight citrus, woody, and resin mix.. it's beautiful but somehow is irritating my nose with it's soft yet overpowered texture.. Bottom line, i think this blend smells very much like a designer blend and mostly like Lancome blends &-OR Guerlain's designer's blends and honestly $260 for this blend is way too much..

Nice fragrance. Pine and green notes balances the balsamic notes here and makes this wearable. Weak performance again sadly. Tried 4 from the 6pcs sample set. All of them has quality and smells nice but are weak in performance. I don't know how people rate this very high performance here in fragrantica. Its soft af for a resinous frag.

This is a complex scent. Very pleasant and aromatic. On my skin I get a multilayered array of notes. Green notes of vetiver, patchouli, cypriol, labdanum...covered with sweet amber and spicy resins. I don't find it sexy. I think it's pleasant and interesting. Well done. I am not sure I would buy a full bottle. But is is worth to try.

quarterback I had the exact same experience! I also got mine from ZGO. Nothing against ZGO though! They’re alway fantastic!! I think I would love it if it was stronger.
