Bright Crystal

This is my signature scent, and has been since 2007! Let me start off by saying I am a VERY picky person when it comes to scents. I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell, and am very hard to please where perfumes are concerned. Back in 2007, I searched high and low for a new signature. I spent many days at the mall, smelling hundreds of different perfumes in person. Until I found this, that is. The first time I smelled this, I was hands down in LOVE. I knew it was the one instantly and I bought it on the spot. In the last 4 or so years, I have made many attempts to venture outward and find myself a new signature, and in all that time, I have not found a single scent that I feel is worthy of replacing this as my signature. In the 9 years I've been wearing Bright Crystal, I get compliments on it almost daily. I remember when I first bought it, I spritzed it on immediately, and went home where my family was too, in awe! My mother loved it, my grandmother loved it, my aunt who doesn't even wear perfumes loved it! So much so, that both my mother and grandmother went out that week and bought themselves a bottle! This is a FRESH and clean smell. It's very floral in nature, but not at all overpowering. I think it's balanced gorgeously and is very sensual, yet 'sparkly' - I truly feel like I glow when I wear it, it's very warm. When first applying, it gives off a nice hint of lotus and pomegranate, and after some time, really lays on smooth with a soft amber smell, with very slight musk. The longevity is great, lasts me all day and night and the layers of each note just melt off beautifully, revealing an even more sensual scent. I think it's a great anytime perfume, day and night - all seasons - although I think it is more of a summer scent. And since I have met my partner, it seems I'll never be allowed to change it now! Which I am fine with, as I'm very much a creature of habit :P

To me, it smells really like raspberries and ice, even though there are no raspberries there? I can also smell the peonies and lotus there (the other tones of course too, but not that distinctive and separate, rather like a vibe of them). It smells "sharp", but not sharp in the bad way, but in the good way, like a sharp crystal or diamond. The name is really fitting for it I think...Even though that it got released in 2006, it gives me a 60s vibe for some reason, maybe because of the ad/poster for it (the one where the woman with messy blonde hair [edit: I found that it's model Iselin Steiro] is lying on a bed with the perfume bottle in front of her and the pink light reflections - I always found that ad aesthetic whenever I saw it in some older magazines lol). Or maybe because of the bottle, about which some people say it's tacky, but I personally love it :) It lasts pretty long both on skin and especially clothes, and it's just somewhere between strong and weak. Overall a really good perfume that I think anyone can wear, I don't think there is anyone who it could offend or who would straight up hate it...Just be careful to not acidentally spray it in your eye, it burns like hell. Don't ask how I know it :P

There’s something truly addictive about this one. Even though it’s a clean, simple scent, it has this mouthwatering freshness that I can’t quite put into words, it’s what makes it so special compared to other similar fragrances. I’ve tried plenty of similar profiles, but I haven't found that same sparkling, effervescent quality anywhere else. ✨ It’s light, but it hits differently. I’ve also found that it’s the ultimate layering tool; when I pair it with other fresh simple fragrances, it gives them a much-needed boost in projection and character. Inhaling this is like standing at the water’s edge right as the world begins to bloom. It captures that fleeting, magical time of year just before summer, when the air isn't heavy with heat yet, but carries a soft, breezy freshness that feels incredibly light and alive. It's a youthful fragrance, but I can imagine this for all kinds of ages.

This is my favorite scent to wear. I would bathe in this if I could. It's clean, feminine, effervescent, uplifting, and it simply elevates my mood every time I smell it. It's like sunshine and bubble baths and soft pink silk flowy bows and champagne. It's delightful and lovely. It doesn't last on my skin, though, and I end up hurting my own feelings smelling my wrist and it's no longer there.. I ended up putting some in a roller ball to bring with me when I wear it because I was getting heartbroken when it faded away; I get about 4 hours on my skin before it's gone. It does last longer on clothes, though, which is good, and it's lovely to spray on sheets before bed (an expensive pleasure, I know). I'm going through my bottle more quickly than my wallet appreciates.

Bright Crystal was a Christmas gift from my sister, and it quickly became my new signature after wearing Calvin Klein Euphoria for so many years. It felt like the perfect moment for a change—aligned with new goals, a new phase of permanently living in the U.S., and carving new paths for myself. The fresh, juicy opening of pomegranate and yuzu, paired with soft florals like peony, magnolia, and lotus, creates a scent that feels clean, feminine, and effortlessly elegant. The gentle musky and amber base adds warmth without heaviness. It brings me a sense of peace and calm, and it’s the kind of fragrance that simply feels good to wear—graceful, comforting, and suitable for any occasion. I love it! 💎🩷

Truth be told, I am a sucker for this type of scent: fresh, feminine and a little sweet. For me, nothing beats the showered/shampooed hair feeling.This isn't a statement fragrance. It's more like tranquil music as background. A sunny bright (oops!) day at the park. For the girl wearing a white sundress,her hair up in a pony tail while having an ice cream cone. This adds the perfect final touch before you run out the door to face the dirty, gritty city. It's that little extra sparkle.You'll feel fresh and put together. You won me over Bright Crystal and you didn't even have to try too hard.

I love Bright Crystal, it’s surprising to see so many hate comments here cuz I thought this was the least offensive one in my whole collection of 18 perfumes. This is a very clean floral, not one that blooms into your face with too much peony or too much citrus. Suitable for pretty much any occasion as most people around me like this smell, even my friend who heavily dislikes perfumes says this is fine (it’s the biggest compliment she can give to any fragrance). Not to mention that Beomgyu has showed us he uses this in a what’s in my bag video for GQ Korea so as a moa that adds points!

Bright, refreshing and kind of gives eurosummer to me. It’s not the most complex or unique scent but it’s just so effortless and nice and I always get a ton of compliments when I wear it. And while it isn’t overtly strong, people standing next to you can typically smell it and in my experience, they find it to be very pleasant. More of a day time fragrance but I think it would be great for a hot summer night too. I love the ice and lotus notes, it gives it an ALMOST aquatic feel but not quite—kind of like a sparkling swimming pool if swimming pools didn’t smell like chlorine lol.

This is probably my favourite perfume of all time. I know people complain and say it's basic but imho that makes it almost universally liked. This is the perfume I get the most compliments on and people comment on it pretty much every time I wear it. It's the perfect balance between fruity and floral without one overpowering the other. It;s a little sharp from the citrus and then mellows out with the florals. It's a beautiful, fresh and clean scent. It smells like fresh, laundered clothes that have been out to dry on a sunny day.

This is the easiest yes for me when it comes to perfumes. I truly love everything about this scent. It feels very well blended and harmonious, and on me it smells sweet, fresh, and elegant. It works beautifully with my skin chemistry. The projection is great, and I get compliments every time I wear it. While I do think it’s a bit overpriced, the quality, performance, and overall experience make the price feel justifiable. I usually wait for a discount or sale to buy it. This is a scent I genuinely love and enjoy wearing.

I absolutely love this perfume and it is my all-time favorite. The first time I bought this perfume was in 2008. Since then, I have enjoyed the freshness and floral combination. As someone who gets migraines, this perfume is just the right amount of potency for me. I can wear it all year long, and it is a great perfume for hot and humid weather. I have yet to find a perfume that I love as much as Bright Crystal. I will mention that Bright Crystal Absolu is too potent and therefore prefer Bright Crystal.

The best way I can describe Versace Bright Crystal is that it smells like you bathed in a sacred natural spring in a field of flowers. Clean, put together, feminine and slightly floral. Perfect for getting brunch with the girls and sipping mimosas or shopping. I’ve received many compliments from people while wearing this fragrance. A must have in your collection if you enjoy a nice clean scent profile that doesn’t overstay its welcome or boldly announces itself.

The perfect versatile fragrance. Whenever I don't want to think about what to wear, this is my easy go-to. It's effortlessly feminine, fresh, and incredibly wearable. To me, it's spring in a bottle, a beautiful blend of soft florals that's never overwhelming. I've heard some people say the performance isn't great, but on my skin it lasts all day, so I've never had that issue. It's one of those perfumes that always makes me feel put together.

I really loved this one, I felt like it has a cool wind wafting the smell of flowers and a citrusy drink...very light and not overbearing at all. I think an exelleny can't go wrong all purpose gift. Not really a special occasion scent. Thought it'd be loved more but I guess most people like smelling real in your face "I'm the only one" and this one is not that for sure.

This perfume is really good and cute. Absolutely amazing smell, last long, you can smell it from far and it’s just straight up aesthetically pleasing, as well as easy to transport. My mother has had it for 12years+ till this day and it never disappointed one bit, i absolutely recommend for day to day (corporate work), holidays, as well as parties or fancy receptions.

If I only do one spray of this, I love it because of the fresh ice note and to me it smells like a frozen mix of pomegranate and flowers .. I like it .. but if I do more than one spray the ice note becomes a metallic note. Very heavily smelling like metal. But that's maybe because it is winter now. .

Smells cold, bright, and like a crystal. Smooth and stone-like. Reminds me of my gem days. Smells like Liurnia or Celia Town in Elden Ring. Smells like icicles and floral freshness. Somehow cold winter freshness without any mint. This one has really grown on me as a clean, easy to reach for scent.

Definitely bright and soapy at first, middles to a flowery lotus with a touch of rose and lily, and then ends on a warm amber that isn't too powerful for the delicate notes that led up to it. Feminine but elegant, simple but not in a bad way. Very nice for the age.

Just right! Maybe not so complex that it unlocks memories from a past life, but I find it very easygoing and reliable. Simple and delicate but not too demure. Still a little bubbly and fresh. A fruity floral that is more youthful than childish. Mwah!

This is an absolute all time favorite of mine. I would describe it as a super fresh & feminine fragrance with fruity and floral notes. It really reminds me of a fruity shampoo fresh out of the shower. I just love how sweet, fresh, and girly it is.

Very light, fresh, feminine scent with just the right amount of fruitiness. On first spray there's a distinctive tartness, and smelled a bit like ripe Soursop fruit on my skin. Perfect for daytime wear, especially indoors.

i really don’t understand why people hate this fragrance so much, it’s clean, soapy and nice. i truly believe so much of the bright crystal hate is just born out of peoples’ “i-must-be-different” complex.

I had it a long time ago and I enjoyed it so much! It so young, fresh and gives you so many positive vibes! Perfect for summer. I bought it again as I’m ready for a new summer journey with it !

I have worn this since my younger years! It is fresh, floral, and flirty! Versace really does no wrong! It lasts for me till the next day on clothes. It is not overly sweet. It is just right!

Positive energy in a bottle! Fresh, clean, crisp. A rather young scent for happy preppy princesses. Citrusy, floral, aquatic without being too sweet or intense. One of my all-time favourites.

Love this fragrance! Fresh, floral and fruity. I think this EDT version is the best in the series. It also has an elegant feel because the sweetness level is balanced.

If you like this you will love Brilliant Peony by Clean Reserve. It's less fruity than Bright Crystal and leans more over to clean girl.

Why this "nothing special" perfume is special to me: My fiance took a path in life that didn't pan out the way he had planned. 25 years in the music industry and construction. He decided at the ripe age of 43 that he would go to college to be a teacher. With a full time job, it's been hard to get classes in, so he's been sucking it up, and taking one class per semester, at night, after grueling weather conditions, building houses. The honors society recognized that he was a straight A student and asked him if he would like to join phi theta kappa. What an honor! He joined, and for the first time, I saw a glimpse of proudness in his eyes. Then...He has to be inducted into it....which meant he would have to stand with the rest of the people who joined, in front of everyone. I guess that is too embarrassing for "rock stars" to do, I don't know. Haha! So we walk in, the room is filled with 20 something year old people, with their proud parents and grandparents....and what filled the air from the 20 something year old girls was "bright crystal". Just a happy, comforting scent that seemed to smell like "sweet success" in a sense. He's walking in a single file with the youngsters and I could see it in his eyes..."why do I have to do this dumb sh*t, I am (now) 45 years old!". He is standing with his society brothers and sisters repeating these "code of honor" words, and in that moment, I felt so proud. He is my love, my light, My everything. The "bright crystal" that flowed through the air that night will always bring me back to that proud moment in both of our lives. I just bought a bottle :) Nothing special? Maybe to you....but it definitely is special for me. This scent is clean, beautiful, innocent, light, crisp, with the slightest hint of enchantment. This is not my usual style, I am more of an orientals kind of gal...but I think it's beautiful. Just like his bright eyes. He will graduate around 50 years old (because of balancing a full time job) and I will definitely be wearing bright crystal at graduation. I love you, John

Pretty, Fresh, floral, citrusy, softly sweet, feminine, uplifting, bright, aquatic, clean, woody On me this opens very fresh, citrusy, bright, and floral with citrusy yuzu and pomegranate, cool ice accord, fresh and velvety peony, aquatic lotus, and slightly lemony magnolia. It is a bit sharp at first, but smooths out as it dries down. It gains a bit of warmth from the amber and a gentle woody scent from the mahogany once it has dried down, but it stays fresh and bright throughout. The peony and yuzu are the most prominent notes on me, supported nicely by the others that play a softer roll. This isn’t exactly my personal style, but I definitely don’t dislike it. It’s is a great fragrance for those who are looking for a fresh scent. It’s very pleasant and non-offensive, so it’s a great choice for a everyday scent. I prefer fresh scents like this for the spring and summer, but this can work all year. I get great performance with Bright Crystal. The longevity is really good, it lasts throughout the majority of the day on me. The projection is nice, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. Starting this off by preficing, I only had a small size of this and for the longest time I wanted to buy a full size but upon revisiting my mini version I've found it's not for me. So this review will be coming from a state of I like it and have an affinity for it but I wouldn't use it a whole lot, at least not enough to purchase a full size. I'd say this fragrance is just kind of bland for the price point and the fragrance house, it's generic, simple citrus floral is what my nose detects whenever I smell this. The most prominent notes for me are all the florals, the yuzu in the opening and a tiny bit of pomegranate. I hardly detect the musk, amber, ice? I get people saying it smells similar to cleaning solution or laundry detergent because it has that clean freshness but I'm not one to wear that type of scent, nor do I reach for straight florals. I prefer fruity fragrances so it goes without saying that this just wasn't my vibe but it is a good fragrance. Worth a try as it's still sold in most stores, but for me the scent and price point don't coincide, if it was max £50 for the full size I'd probably pick it up but to me it's a little overpriced for what it is. I'm sure you can find just as good of a scent with a similar vibe that is much cheaper and from a smaller brand that needs your money more. Hope this was helpful ☺️👍

Warm weather scent. Very refreshing, with interesting vodka start which fades fast reveiling pink flowers - peony, lotus, magnolia with buckets of ice cubes. Yes, the water notes are as prominent as the florals. In the base I feels mainly musk. It seems common, or maybe it is that popular, fresh but also elegant. For a romantic female. It projects for 5 hours already and seems fading just a bit in a likeable manner. Seems perfect for summer. Reminds me of less sweet Halloween by del Pozo. The same whimsical group. In this group I associate with lilac pink color I have also Moonlight by Ariana Grande and Moonlight by Coach. Likeable. I feel like buying a bottle which is so very Versace. It strongly reminds me of something. Maybe L'eau d'Issey? At hour 7 woods, rather unisex are coming forth, softened by musk. Is it my favourite rosewood? Rather not. It feels more cedar. But it gets smoother and better with time, though a skin scent after 10 hours.

I really like this. It's very bright, "crystalline", if you will. Something in my psyche is soothed when a name/appearance of a fragrance matches the actual scent. If this had a touch more magnolia, I would hate it. It's at the edge of what I can handle with the granny flowers. Regardless, it's still within my tolerance, and there's a freshness and crispness that evens that out. I feel like it's a cool-toned floral. Could work in the spring/summer, but I probably will weat this in the winter. The unfortunate part is that this DISAPPEARS OFF MY SKIN in like 45 minutes. I mean it was gone. I am the kind of person who actually does NOT want a fragance to linger for 12 hours, but 45 minutes is wild. It might be a personal chemistry thing though, because it seems like others get more longevity than I do. Anyways - this is beautiful.

So lovely, a truly inoffensive scent that you really can't go wrong with. More fruity than it is floral imo, but both areas are present with an overall freshness. I never would've thought of ice as a note but I can definitely detect it! Nostalgic for me as well - this smells like every fashion magazine and catalog of the era due to the paper perfume samples inside. My only gripe is that for the price it should last longer. The throw is somewhere between intimate and moderate which I can appreciate, but it's so faint after a couple hours and nonexistent by 4. Even as an eau de toilette, an expensive designer perfume should be able to hang around longer than a body spray.

After using up a couple mini’s of the Absolu version of BC, I decided I wanted to try the original by way of a rollerball tester. The Absolu is a tad strong and hits me in the back of my head, but the overall fragrance is gorgeous. I was afraid that the original version would be something a little too different. I was so happy to find out when my order came in that it smells exactly the same, yet softer and a bit warmer in the dry down. Is it shampooey, yes! Is it generic, no! I love that it smells clean and freshly floral but that doesn’t make it generic. It is a well blended, happy, feel good fragrance and I will be getting a full bottle after my rollerball is gone!

Again I have come to realise how fragrances differ in everyone's nose across the world due to climates. I do see many people here saying its headache inducing and sharp. However, when its just humid most of the time in Singapore, I do find myself reaching for this alot. FYI, I hate florals. I avoid floral perfumes mostly. However, I would say Versace bright crystal EDT is different. Its cool and aquatic first before being floral and that is what works best for me in my opinion. Its not offensive, its an all rounder perfume. Is it unique, no. But its pleasant and wont offend anyone. And I can smell it on myself for a good amount of hours!

I absolutely love the delightful citrusy opening of this perfume, which is boosted nicely by the pomegranate and ice. (Side note: ice is one of the most interesting notes I've ever seen listed on a perfume. It adds a light, cool feel to the perfume... or maybe that's just me?) My favourite part of this perfume is definitely the middle notes—the white floral scent is beautiful and gentle. The projection and sillage are definitely not the greatest (I had to reapply after a couple of hours), however, this scent is pleasant and inoffensive. It's a great everyday perfume that works in all settings.

You get a lot of the floral scent with a lot of citrus in the background and a hint of sweetness. It smells pretty clean and fresh. I've seen people describe it as elegant or sexy in other reviews, but I disagree I would more so describe it as cute or girly, it's more for women on the younger side. Only reason I have it as a like and not love is the longevity and sillage. It's not strong at all and fades away pretty quickly, only really lasting for an hour or two. If the performance was better it would have probably been one of my favorites.
