Green Jeans

Versace Green Jeans was one of my favourite perfumes in the 90s, when I first became interested in perfumes. It was accessible and I found it original, vibrant and sexy and this is always enough for a teenager. Eventually I discovered Versace L'Homme and today I still have both perfumes... testing them at the same time makes me realise how much they have in common, to the point of thinking that VGJ might actually be an attempt to adapt VL'H to a wider audience. They share a woody-chypre structure of citrus and herbal opening and a core of carnation over oakmoss and woods. VL'H emphasises carnation and oakmoss and accompanies them with dense, oily citrus (especially lemon) and a very subtle, buttery leather note. Carnation and oakmoss are also key elements in VGJ, perfectly detectable but less heavy, taking the perfume out of the 80s and into the 90s; though the opening is more sparkling and the base is a strong coniferous note, which provides its special personality. VL'H feels mature and elegant, but without renouncing the irreverence that Gianni endowed his creations with, while VGJ is much more casual, dynamic and, why not say it: synthetic. Both are the offspring of an unique and unrepeatable mind and creative genius.

This was one of my favourites for a time, so green, fresh, yet on me a pine note that never strayed into cleaning chemicals. It smelled amazing and I was a proper fresh woody fragrance with a citrus twist. I'm not going to spend money on buying a vintage bottle because they are wildly overpriced, and I doubt the citrus chemicals have remained that stable over time. I'd love to see this come back, but seeing as the house canned Versace Man and kept Man Eau Fraiche I doubt their judgement. I do have Davidoff Horizon and they are more like cousins than brothers, nothign have come close, Pino Silvestre should be avoided, unless you crave disappointment, I live in hope a dupe house decides to do a run of all the Jeans fragrances for some crazy reason. It's that or i have to start my own company just to get my hands on it again. Back in the day, I was either wearing this or JPG Fleur de Male Updated 10/5/25- a UK based dupe house Jubilee Scents is now doing this fragrance. I have bough a bottle and have high hopes. Updated 30/5/25- I have my dupe bottle, and other than the opening being a little rougher and the lime note being not quite right, this is 90% there and i'm content with that.

I started using Fragrantica because I needed help finding alternatives To Ralph Lauren Romance Silver, YSL Live Jazz and Green Jeans which are all finished. Admittedly I am writing and joined because of some reviews posted here. 1welshdevil and iconoclast helped me (thank you) > I purchased the current version of Horizon and you have helped me enjoy the wonders of it. I;m not sure comparing Horizon to GJ is do fair. Horizon to me is a budget scent that has bang for it s buck and lasts ages. Really, its just three things Lemon, Smoky (thats the lavender and oak moss) and Pine Kick at the end THATS IT. To suggest buying that over GJ as its the same is not fair to me as I find GJ more complex.. Green Jeans has a greater multitude of components (like the pyramid suggests and unusually I'm pretty much going to agree with it in this instance) that ends in a more subtle pine. Pino Sylvestre has an artificial prominent pine scent so only similar at best (again a simple old mans fragrance - which I also own btw). If anybody has any suggestions that are closer or worth a try please let me know, I'm down to my last 10ml. ;.(

I am guessing we are all in our 40s? I remember after Blue Jeans and Baby Blue, comes Green Jeans if order is correct? Then Black Jeans? I can still remember wearing this to school everyday. The opening burst of lemony limey citrusy is oooh wow! Can't stop sniffing myself and the scent last for many hours! Update: Just got my bottle yesterday from a local seller who is also decluttering his old stocks. Should be the last available bottle in my country already it seems.

After a long time searching for this, finally I got it! I'm just so glad! Just like the Blue one, this is a classic and truly pure woody. While Blue Jeans is about vanilla and musk, Green Jeans is all about pine. Blue Jeans is sweeter and smoother and this is somehow stronger and sharper. And of course, both have great longevity. Love this line!

One of the best green fragrances ever, and IMHO, the best from the Jeans series. I bought a bottle in 2007 to wear at a wedding, and haven’t seen it since. Unlike Pino Silvestre, which can be linear and a bit harsh - Green Jeans is smooth and puts a smile on your face every time you smell it. Isn’t that why we wear fragrances?

Versace green jeans - the most 'natural' pine/citrus smelling fragrance I have ever smelt very clean and refreshing -imagine walking through a forest full of pine trees after a heavy rainstorm . Amazing fragrance - a pity its discontinued :(

Love this line of Versace, the bottle is a masterpiece. I have the Blue Jeans and I love it, now I'm looking forward to test this Green Jeans, highly hope that it would be good, because I'm such a huge fan of green scents.

Simply one of the greenest, freshest frags - It's really great!! - wish I could get some more of this. Discovered Eau Maximum by Nickel nearly as good.

If like me, you already own Guy Laroche's wonderful Horizon, then buying this would be a redundant move as to me they smell almost identical to one another from beginning to end. You could argue that Green Jeans is about 1% brighter than Horizon but that would be about it as far as differences to the smell are concerned. On my skin though I found that Horizon has much more longevity, which is not surprising as it's well known for its outstanding performance. As they both appear to be discontinued, I guess it boils down to the price and which bottle design you prefer. In summary, GJ is definitely worthy of a purchase if you are lucky enough to stumble across it (assuming you don't already own Horizon - BTW cowboykenny27 below seems to have a good take on this enchanting smell). If you can't find either, then I suggest you make do with Sure/Rexona Men Quantum deodorant (silver & green can) which as an aerosol also smells remarkably similar.

Green Jeans hmmmmmm.. Well wasn't really sure about it so I ordered some 1.7ml sample testers online, and you know what it wasn't really that bad. Main thing I smelt was Lime & Lemon which really made me feel fresh and summer time style lol. This kinda reminds me of my dads Aramis but a little on the weaker side. I really cant say how long this lasted me because I used it as a splash style cologne but it was on my face for about 3 hours or so. I will be sticking with my small samples for now but I don't think I will be buying a full bottle because its not the type of scent to take my breath away and to make me say WOW. If your a fan of pure LEMON and LIME smells then this is the one.

I am definitely partial as this was my first fragrance gifted to me by my father. I lost the original in-between moving when I was younger but recently found a bottle on e-bay for a decent price. Upon first whiff I am immediately taken back to my twenty's living as a bachelor trying to make my way in the hustle of the city. It opens with a lot of lime and bergamot, but within an hour settles down to musky, woody, grassy, herbal ecstasy. This nutty, patchouli like dry down hangs on for a while. It doesn't seem to project to loudly though, you need to get close to the skin to appreciate it. I always found this to be a good date night scent if your bold enough to pull it off.

Green, Woodsy, soapy, heavy, in your face type fragrance. The pine is ever dominant but the nose can also detect the citruses and soapy base from start to drydown. This is a retro, very strong fragrance even for the 90s standards. This is for the courageous, daring man with a strong personality. I do not get why Versace decided to end Jeans series. Most of them were pretty good and original. Green jeans is a unique piney fragrance and I will miss it so much. For the rainy autumn days, this is the fragrance to wear. I remember my grandmother being SO excited to share this lovely find with me once upon a time. I think she managed to nab it at a Wal-Green's or Marshall's back in the early 2000s. No idea if that was possible, but I remember it being strong like Pine-sol and felt spicy like the Brawny paper towel guy. I remember wearing it just because it was such a statement as a young woman who loved flowers. Complete scent 180 in the morning. It was the antithesis of feminine to me and the bottle and little tin can it came in was so fun. Enjoyable and vintage. Here's hoping to a revival for everyone with good memories of this.

Hello, today I want to talk about Versace Green Jeans, I bought it in 1997 and is now almost finished, I always used sparingly because besides having a good length I find it just wonderful and I did not like the idea of consumed soon.This fragrance is wooded with mature trees of resins that are released after a day of rain and baskets of citrus accompany the trail, not only freshness but contagious euphoria ... I hope to find even though it seems certain discontinued ...... masterpieces should not be forgotten. A masterpiece.

Firstly I will start in response to iconoclast, who compares this to Horizon by Guy Laroche. I absolutely love Horizon, it is such a wonderful, brilliantly blended green fragrance that lasts and develops well, as for Green Jeans, I get a pretty harsh opening, more towards lime. It dries down to virtually the smell of a Christmas tree. It's really nice, clean, but imo it's very much in the shadow of Horizon. Sillage was pretty good, but I found the longevity a little on the average side.

I am a woman who frequently wears cologne but this one lacks the sweetness of most modern colognes. I really didn't like it on myself so I gave it to my younger (maybe gay?) brother. It's a good fragrance for a clean-cut guy who's not into more douchey scents. I would describe it as very crisp, fresh, and woody. Not super unique, but a good entry level buy if you're figuring out what kind of fragrance you like.

This is the greatest green frag i have ever smelled ,and i have smelled a lot,believe me-cheap,expensive all kind of themThis is unique and underrated.It has character definately and it is not like the recent gay fumes that came out

This is a classic for a reason! Green Jeans is super fresh and citrusy, perfect for daytime wear in the warmer months. It lasts a good while too, which is always a bonus.

just bought from used for 45$, the price is so high now regarding its availability. it opens strong syntethic powdery lime (exactly the same line used in Creed Royal Water), and after 10 minutes comes the floral notes (remind me of clive christian 1872 for men) but end up around 1 hour. its been 7 hours and the lime still there acting as base notes. after the notes will get weaker. it is too syntethic & powdery but for the original price 25$ it is OK. has the syntethic powdery style from the blue jeans.

Received a 10ml EDT travel spray of this yesterday and was so bitterly dissapointed. Maybe I was just expecting too much from it ? The reviews here exude so much love for it, I thought it would be a safe purchase....glad I decided to opt for a small volume first. This smells extremely synthetic to me, to the extent that I just can't bear it - I recoil with every sniff. Sampled yesterday and again today, but the feeling remains unchanged unfortunately.....maybe the little alloy can has adversely reacted with the juice ? I know this is, in no doubt, a personal thing, as it's obvious it's well loved by others.......but I also see the Dislikes on the voting. I agree with Iconoclast - it is very similar to Horizon.....but strangely I like & wear Horizon ? Maybe there is a single constituent in Green Jeans that doesn't agree with me ? I'll try a glass vial sample before I write it off altogether.....here's hoping the can is bad !

It smells like a lemon tree and a lime tree, in full bloom, walked up and bitch slapped you.

A special fragrance, though the first few minutes may be too strong or crude for some (perhaps due to a lot of aldehydes). There is an excellent dynamism between the individual notes and the overall composition. The floral notes are very subdued but provide just enough of a softening quality. Longevity and projection are excellent too. It takes about an hour or more before it really gets to the point where I can call it exceptional, but then that lasts a very long time! While fragrances with a similar idea, such as Pino Silvestre, can't be dismissed and are noteworthy in some ways, Green Jeans is clearly superior, and to me, one of the all-time greats. A word of warming, though, this is for the aficionado. UPDATE: I think the "magic" of this fragrance involves how a generic woody/amber quality blends with pine, citrus, and herbs, persisting for the entire time I can smell it. I can't think of another one like this. With Pino Silvestre, for example, there is wood and amber, rather than woody/amber, but the notes are distinct and the herb/pine/citrus fades significantly over time. With Green Jeans, there is a one big accord that combines all the major elements and lasts, but you can still tell they are all present and it never smells like a "blob." Yes, I can see how some would view this as "synthetic," but for me it comes across as a little strange, though after a while it just seems like a novel smell rather than something un-natural.

ONE of my all time favorites. This is a citrusly, floral, calm, juvenile, inviting, calm, playful, vintage fragrance that was well nicely blended. Straight up "key lime pie" in a bottle 🤣 The longevity is okay. But I normally layer my cologne with essential oils that are inspired by the fragrance itself to get the performance that I truly desire without having to keep overspraying. Green Jeans really don't have a masculine touch or that gentleman aura to it. This fragrance was promoted towards homosexual males. But heterosexual men can still wear this as well. I would only wear this for. 1)Job/Office 2)Spring & Summer. 3)Dressing casual or vintage. 4)Hanging with women (Girly girls not tom boyish one's) 5)Daytime. 6)Happy Hour. 7)Running a few errands. I wouldn't necessarily reach for this. 1)Hanging with the fellas. 2)Gym. 3)Winter. 4)Nights/Evenings. 5)Attending a formal event. 6)Dressing down or sophisticated. 7)Trying to get noticed.

You all are TRIPPIN. This stuff is disgusting. It's literally a traditional stanky green outdated fougere with a BRIEF modern lime note. After the lime note wears off in 30 min you get a cheap version of something your dad or grandpa would have got only if they were POOR. Don't get me wrong; I hate modern sweet scents. Polo Green, Drakkar Noir, & Paco Rabbane Pour Homme are high quality masterpieces... but Green jeans is CRINGE- Its a cheap smelling classic 20th century mossy pine cologne with a pathetic lime note that is gone like a death bed queefe I made the mistake of spraying this on my arm during lunch then going back to the office - hope I'm not kicked out lol. $300 price tag for this? Come on guys.

Green and clean is correct! This scent starts out very vibrant and interesting. There are sparkling citric notes along with fresh marine and piney green notes. This reminds me so much of the colognes of the 90s...They just seemed more adventurous and interesting. As this settles on the skin, you get a long lasting aroma of pine and woods, and something slightly sweet. Ultimately, you'll smell clean as a thorough shower with a bar of Irish Spring soap. The soapiness is were this fragrance dates itself. For that reason, I give it a 7/10: really good fragrance thats unique, but too soapy for modern standards.

This is nice. Green and clean, almost outrageously so and invigorating. Somehow forest-like indeed (must the the fir, moss and cedar), but also slightly sweet and yes, I know it's supposed to be male fragrance, but I wanted to try it on skin and I must say that I would almost wear it... although it is not unisex...I have a feeling that this is one of those fragrances that can develop to suit your skin - on mine it is fresh and "natural" and super clean, but also classy and even lightly romantic, but I can see how this could be also rather masculine on a manly man. :-) Beautiful dry down.

Bought this in 2001, apparently gave it away coz the green grass is too strong to be used in daytime. Now in 2010 blind purchase a gucci by gucci sport, shocked that the notes are so similar to this. Almost 3 to 1 fraction of the cost. I don't know who's the wrong guy here, the perfumer or is it just me. Now that I've already got them, I guess I have to start liking the notes all over again. After a while it tends to get better with the gucci.

The best perfume of all time for me. my auntie bought me a 7.5 ml bottle as a mid teen and now in my mid to late twenties I’ve repurchased it several times. it’s getting unaffordable now given it was discontinued before I was born (I was born in 1999). sad but lurking constantly on eBay to splash on one for about $160 ish. will probably cave and broke myself for another bottle because it is so magic and vintage smelling.

I truly wouldn't like to find this bottle in any boyfriend's home, although my mother used the red one when I was I child. Apart from this, the scent is excellent, respectful and inspiring; maybe it is because I first knew this scent when I was very young, but now I miss it and find it a lesson of class compared to most new blends smelling of something very artificial and empty.

I remember loving yellow jeans and green jeans from the Versace Jeans line. (I used to own Yellow Jeans) This one was one of the best scents for men in the late 90's, still would be if it was on the shelves. I'm shocked that both are discontinued while Red and Blue, that are nowhere near these two, are still in production. Shame.

WOW. A lime margarita/ mint mojito drink mixed with brisk mountain air, fir, and oakmoss. Almost has a summer banger nuance to it but at the same time traditionally green and masculine. The most unique green scent I've ever tried. Pick this up!!!

This is a hard one to read. It starts off harsh, really harsh. Later on it calms down to the piney scent. The dry down is pretty good, but the opening is very rough. I think I'll give it another test in the spring to see if my opinion changes. .

I remember Green Jeans as very similar to the original men's Lacoste, but more herbal. It was my favourite of the Jeans series.

If some one likes Gucci by Gucci sports then blind buy this one, at least this is 3 times cheaper then Gucci sports !!!!

I love the smell of this Fragrnace! The scent of limes and lemons blend beautifully together!
