Rêve De Myrrhe

Rêve de Myrrhe smells like the moment a long-awaited festival finally begins. The air trembles with anticipation, lights blooming around you like awakened stars. It’s hour zero, the very start of everything, and you are the one everyone has been waiting for. Not the guest, but the centerpiece. The reason the celebration exists. The fragrance opens with a warm, glowing swirl of myrrh and frankincense, the finest Omani resins crackling in the air like golden dust. They rise in gentle waves, soft as floating lanterns, welcoming you with a sacred yet joyful energy. It feels ceremonial, but never stiff. More like a blessing offered with a smile. The heart is an ambered haze that glows around you like a halo. Spices shimmer at the edges, flickering like little sparks dancing in the night. Everything feels luminous, warm, almost hypnotic. The myrrh here isn’t heavy or churchy. It’s sweet, translucent, and uplifting, like warmth radiating from within your own chest. As it settles, the perfume becomes silky and comforting. A resinous glow clings to your skin like the last lights of the festival drifting gently into dawn. It feels intimate, peaceful, and deeply special, the kind of scent that makes you remember who you are and what you’ve achieved. Rêve de Myrrhe is a celebration of you. A quiet yet powerful reminder that some nights belong entirely to you, and that your presence alone can turn a gathering into something unforgettable.

I was a tad worried to try this one because even the official note breakdown lacked the titular ingredient of myrrh, which happens to be one of my favorite notes. Fortunately, I immediately recognized a slightly mushroomy myrrh note, and it's present throughout Rêve de Myrrhe. This scent is lovely and probably my favorite of the Atelier Versace line so far. I can't help but think that this was composed with finesse and restraint, lacking any rough edges and diffusing nicely within a small/moderate bubble for several hours. It also feels more natural smelling / less synthetic than some of the other scents in this line (especially the Vanilla and the Ginger). Thanfully, the Akigalawood listed in the mid/base does not stick out like a sore thumb. I think this is what Myrrhe Mystère should've been: Rêve de Myrrhe lacks the abrasive synthetic peppery woods at the base of the Tom Ford (that base accord has become pretty redundant after also appearing in Ébène Fumé and Black Lacquer). I imagine that whomever composed Rêve de Myrrhe at Givaudan learned from the mistakes of Myrrhe Mystère (which was also composed at Givaudan). The Versace feels better put together and is more recognizably a myrrh fragrance to my nose. I'll be getting my hands on this one as soon as I can get it at a good price! The MRSP is very steep for this line... 🥲

What a stunner! My long lost craving for real deep mystic incense and resins on the sweeter rather than bitter side is satisfied again. This may be a contender-dupe for the exquisite Sahara Noir Tom Ford.

Probably the best myrrh fragrance I’ve ever smelt. Rêve De Myrrhe is pure myrrh at its finest. Myrrh fragrance lovers this is what you’ve been waiting for.
