Santal Boisé

probably my favorite fragrance i own. its so dark and moody, but fresh and refined in such a calm and clean way. smells like a cowboy going to church on a thursday in autumn. i love love LOVE the incense vibe it gives off, and it sticks to you sooo well. i honestly could argue that its for every season because sandalwood is such an ambiguous, floral-like scent, but the saffron gives it ego with the cypress to back it up. its like if a plant had an attitude. its the type of perfume to make your mom comment positively but scrunch her nose up whenever she smells it. im genuinely obsessed with it!! i get so many compliments constantly and it never fades away. only thing i dont like is if you accidentally spray the bottle too close to your clothes you get an awkward oil mark for a bit that smells intense af. besides that 10 out of 10 would recommend ❤️❤️

As soon as I sprayed Atelier Versace Santal Boisé, I was reminded of another fragrance straight away. This line in general seems to be borrowing inspiration from a lot of Middle Eastern fragrances. Personally, I think Santal Boisé is a slightly more refined but much weaker-projecting version of the original Kalemat (orange bottle) by Arabian Oud, the Saudi brand. Kalemat is a bestseller in the Middle East, and you can pick up a bottle for about £80. It’s much stronger, but very much in the same vein. Pretty similar, if you ask me.

Hear me out... If you like Tom Fords Tobacco Vanille, or want to like it and find it too sweet, then this is for you. This smells exactly like a flanker for Tobacco Vanille with far less sweetness (still a sweet frag) and the addition of some sandalwood. It is glorious, one of my new favs and can basically be stolen from discount shops. Grab it while you can. (I got a few bottles at just over $100 each.

Lovely fragrance and glad I've got to try it out. Quite reminiscent of these warmer scents like by the fire place but with added focus on the woodiness, rather than the vanilla that a lot of these use. However £300 is an absolute joke for something that's very nice and high quality, but nowhere near unique enough or mind blowing to justify that robbery.

Can't begin to describe what a perfect fragrance this is. It's the best sandalwood fragrance I've personally ever smelled. This deserves so much more hype, it's affordable and the presentation is incredible. Performance is incredible, the fragrance sits in the air for an hour after I spray it. 10/10 hidden masterpiece from Versace. I

Look all I can say is that this perfume is gonna get you a lot of compliments. And don't get me started on the longevity. It stays there for at least two weeks. OFC the price is ugly but in case you wanna treat yourself once in a while this is my recommendation.

It’s smells like a niche by the fireplace without all the some and sprinkle in some tonka imperial. Very long lasting and a little goes a long way. It garners a lot of complements and can’t hate the scent. Very much unisex and more masculine in my opinion

This is a power house which I love, but it is not for everyone. If like me you love this scent, it is great value for money because of its longevity and silage performance. Do not blind buy, defenetly test it out first to be sure before purchasing.

Smooth like silk..one of the best blended fragrances I ever tried..feels so cozy too,would make an amazing wear for colder days,or even better - lonely nights.

This is a really nice fragrance. I'm glad I decided to just go for it. This line get a little hate but this is a beautiful sandalwood

The longevity is horrible. But the scent is magnificent.

Smells like Armani stronger with you intensely

Pretty good scent actually a mix of eau d'issey pour homme noir ambré and Tom For Oud wood, Very long lasting (stay on clothes for a week ,on skin it's around 12hours+ strong projection and sillage) Don't overspray this one or you will choke everyone around you, Very overpriced but the presentation is really good, the box and the bottle are well detailed, scent = 7/10 logevity = 10/10 projection and sillage = 10/10 presentation = 10/10 ( a very nice box and bottle) price = 1/10 ( very overpriced for a fragrance )

Lovely sandalwood scent that displays a nice minimalist construction approach focused completely on the wood. The scent opens briefly with notes of saffron and vanilla before going into the firm heart of Sri Lankan sandalwood. The perfume settles in a base of cypriol and slight Hindi Oud with the sandalwood dominating the show. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate projection and good longevity. It is refined and understated. Enjoy!

This is a strong fragrance that only gets better. Sandalwood and woody notes are well blended with some earthiness (patchouli?) and vanilla. I tested three fragrances from this niche line and although Santal Boisé is lovely, it's not my preferred type of fragrance. That's all.

On my skin, this appeared as saffron and resinous vanilla, sweeter and a tad more feminine than Vanille Rouge of the same house. Imo, more an amber fragrance than a woody fragrance. Nice, but in view of the laughable price point, I cannot remotely recommend that one. But it makes sense, as the tacky bottle design doesn't leave a doubt on the customer target... Hard pass for me.

The first spray was actually quite unpleasant, but over time I came to a different conclusion. Overall, the fragrance is quite decent. It’s pleasant, but for the price I really don’t see the point in buying a full bottle. For that kind of price, you can find much more interesting and overall better fragrance.

Spicy and sweet, reminiscent of vanilla tobacco by TF but less sweeter, very woody with a nuclear longevity 12h+

Nothing special, especially for this price point

It smells like wood smoke that lingers. Kind of like after going to a bonfire and being unable to get the smell of smoke out for a week. I was hoping that was just the initial scent that would tone down, but it has not. For the cost of this you are better off standing in a smoke house for a few minutes. At least then you would have the added notes of cooked meat.

Where is the sandalwood? All I can smell is the cloying, textureless sweetness of tonka and some saffron. There’s really not even the slightest trace of sandalwood—not in the top, middle, or base notes.

I came accross this line and the beauty advisor told me it's one of their best seller. I sprayed it, and it immediately reminded me of something but couldn't remember what. After 1 hour, and smelling it again, i finally recalled what it was. It's very close to Cuir Noir from Armani. I used to own this one, but ended up giving it away. It's however very close to the memory I have of Cuir Noir. Beautiful scent, on the more classic side, leaning masculine.

This is such a beautiful fragrance ! I do get a beautiful soft vanilla that isn’t mentioned in the notes. This is easily one of the easiest oud style fragrances in the market. Solid longevity +/- 8hrs and such an elegant silage. If you find it under $200, don’t hesitate to pick it up. Elegant beauty and can be considered crowd pleasing. Niche characteristics but not offensive- everyone will love this around you.

This is like the saffron/sandalwood version of babycat/rosendo no 5. I love sandalwood but I hate the dna of babycat/rosendo 5, so it’s a love hate relationship with this one. It leans sweet but in a dry resinous way/ also medicinal/rubbery. If it had more of a spicy/woody feel and less sweet I wouldve loved this. Unfortunately a pass for me. Safran royal and Gingembre however... are showstoppers,

I love a good sandalwood fragrance, and this does the job very well. As someone else mentioned you also get a nice vanilla note to it as well. Yes as some have said it's a bit expensive but you can tell. No disrespect to Eros ect. but this is in a different league in terms of scent profiles. I solid 8.5/10

Just got it today and I love it. It’s a soft, spicy, sweet fragrance on me. It does remind me of a toned down version of Initio Side Effect which I like for times I want something softer. It’s cozy and I feel it definitely can be unisex but it is slightly masculine leaning but I’m into that.

Creamy saffron sandalwood... It is a worm spicy creamy sandalwood, with amber, and cypriol. Sniffed it many times before and it is like a more spicy "Indecense" by Givenchi.

To me, "Santal Boisé" would literally mean "Sandalwood Wood". This means this fragrance woody woody and some more woodiness in and out... lol

Sandal wood with attitude, absolute beautiful and can feel the luxury vibe 😍

It’s good but nothing special wouldn’t pay £300 for this

Its noir ambree... cmon. Same perfumer same scent.

Almost 90% identical to Issey Amber noire
