Tabac Imperial

I was fortunate enough to obtain a free sample of this fragrance and I'm super thankful because although it's great, I won't be dishing out almost $500 CAD with the taxes for it. It's a beautiful, rich, deep tobacco fragrance. A bit earthy, a bit sweet and very sexy smelling, at least to my nose. Longevity is great. Over 7 hours into the life of the fragrance and I still smell it very strongly. Projection is great as well for the first 3-4 hours before it settled in a bit closer. The sillage is phenomenal, though. When you smell this stuff linger in the air, it's magic. Overall, it's a truly gorgeous tobacco fragrance. Extremely well blended and very, very deep and rich. Although Fragrantica is saying this is unisex, I would say this leans very, very masculine.

Frankly the mostly exquisitely blended tobacco and honey. The opening is arguably the most realistic honey-wrapped tobacco ive ever had the pleasure of smelling, and as it dries down the tobacco slowly fades into the background and allows that oh-so-sweet honey to shine through. Funnily enough im constantly reminded of the nostalgic smell of playdough from my childhood. Its always subtly present, but it add this whole new aspect to the fragrance that makes it one of my favourites ever. This stuff is so effortlessly smooth, effortlessly natural, and just good asf.

I tested this fragrance for the first time at the airport, and it had already impressed me. I had the opportunity to try it again and it only confirmed my sensations: a wonderfully realistic, slightly bitter honey, combined with a delicate and very pleasant tobacco. The other notes make it decisive, incisive, just the way I like it. I consider it super sensual on a woman, equally on a man. Ended up on wishlist. Ideal for the colder seasons, or for an important summer evening. “First to arrive” painted by Liepke.

Bought it at the Delhi duty free for around INR 19000 approx($250) would say with this price it absolutely feels like the right buy, I have tried many Tobacco Fragrances, the most closer to this one would be Red Tobacco but the opening of Red Tobacco is so medicinal , Tabac Imperial is overall the best performing with moderate projection , layer it with Iso e super to make it subtle if needed. My next favorite would be Tobacco Vanile but Tabac Imperial takes the cake.

I don't know what the people below me are tripping on but tobacco is my favorite note in perfumery, I try to buy everything I find that has a tobacco note, and this fragrance has the most realistic tobacco note I have ever smelled in a fragrance by far. It reminds me of the days I used to drink scotch and smoke my oriental tobacco straight from a pipe. It's a beautiful fresh tobacco with a powdery dry down. I recommend this if you can get it from a discounter.

Fresh tobacco with honeyed, leathery woods. It’s richly beautiful and the best from this range. It’s the smell of unlit cigars in a wooden box, drizzled with golden honey on a powdery patchouli and benzoin base. It’s not too bold, masculine nor intimidating as it’s a realistic representation. This deep, rich, fresh tobacco is intoxicating.

Very photo realistic honey note wax and all mixed with benzoin. Then you get the undertone of tobacco and woods. Very sexy and seductive and well blended. Last forever and a great spillage, got tons of compliments when I work it

It seriously smells like raw honey! I love it!!!! I use raw honey all the time for my skin care routine!!! When it comes to fragrance I would compare it to Killian Apple Brandy and Angel Share. Just a lot more dense, mature.

Contrary to the other reviews, I actually find this very smooth and extremely natural. It has quite a bit of absolutes, which dismisses the claims of synthetic properties in itself. This is what I was hoping Tobacco Honey would be, as I did like that fragrance, but it was way too sweet and more feminine leaning. The tobacco here is like opening up a proper cigar humidifier. You get the dark and moist tobacco leaf, along with the wood of their containers. The honey sweetens it up a bit, but definitely no where near gourmand territory. It's like an organic honey you get in a jar from the fancy grocery stores with cage free employees vs the default one you get in those bear shaped containers. It dries down to a humid cedar, which I enjoy a lot. It doesn't change much which makes it great for layering as well with sweeter perfumes.

Very interesting that it's both dry & herbal as well as sweet & dewy; heavy with immortelle—not just honey tobacco—with a soft powdery base (patchouli + benzoin) as though orris had been added. Arguably the best in the collection!

I would say the opening has an initial sweetness and vanilla syrup mixed with a good dosing of ashy tobacco. Unapologetically masculine given the ashy element. After ten or so minutes, the syrupy side calms, and it becomes more reliant on its earthy qualities. Projection is leaning moderate-strong, and longevity is good. Looking at the notes after a good day's wear, I'd say the honey and benzoin project the vanilla element, tobacco unapologetically leads, and everything else is background. Overall, it's a strong tobacco scent with initial sweetness but carries a different tone than TF. Personally, just too ashy for me, but if you like the stronger personality that accompanies Versace, this might be for you.

Could’ve been amazing if they didn’t use patchouli and upped the honey a bit.

Over the years, I have smelled a plethora of tobacco fragrances; some good, and some not so good. This is a dreadful release. It is just about unbearable to the nose, with the opening being painfully headache-inducing. This does not deserve to be compared to releases such as Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, or even Phaedon’s Tabac Rouge (both of which exceed this from both a monetary standpoint and an artistic perspective!). Save your money.

This could be one of the most cloying perfumes ive ever had the (dis)pleasure of smelling. It smells like really cheap synthetic honey and tobacco. This was honestly horrible to smell, i was excited for the notes and thought it would be a gem.

This is the most realistic tobacco fragrance that I've got my nose into. Smells exactly like cigarette tobacco dipped in some honey. In the opening, the sweetness is not prominent, and there's no vanilla. It dries down to the most realistic honey I've smelt, and the honey is too sweet. All that said, it's not exactly my favorite tobacco fragrance. I think in this case, the hyperrealicity works against the desirability. 7/10

Harsh powdered sweet pipe... The drydown is lucious and mouthwatering! it's not a gourmand but it is a harsh powdered tobacco mixed with natural sweet honey. I don't get any smoke at all rather than a powdered tobacco. This is an interesting tobacco blend indeed, sweet tobacco honey pipe. Beautiful.

The guy below me summarizes it perfectly. Smooth sweey tobacco honey, opening is a very realistic sweet tobacco, dries down a little more feminine. Too expensive for me, would probably prefer Tobacco Vanille, but it's close

Most generic tobacco fragrance on the market. Could have been a good release, if it was a regular Versace release which is €50 at discounters and not a Prive collection one.

Patch, Cypriol, tobacco and benzoin....the notes of my dreams. Excited to try this one.
