Versace Pour Femme Oud Oriental

I always had in mind oud like an arabian kind of quality, or let's better say tradition. Then, thought of Tom Ford's Oud Wood or Armani's private collection too. Then, an almost blind date I had with someone wearing a perfume with oud being the star. Do I like it? Yes! But not being the star in a perfume, just a touch of it to give this hypnotic/arabian night/romance that does the work. Everyone will be able to detect you with this note, so let's get straight to the point. I would never grab and test Oud Oriental for fun or even in general Versace's perfumes because I am not that familiar to the house. I did it just to kill some time and guys, I fell in love! First spray was like, hmmm I like it but how will it transform with time? Then, no. It smells like a smokey eyes woman with bold eyeliner and tanned skin. The exact smell of eye pencils. Lilly of the valley gives this effect some times. My night repair cream from this extract is what came in my mind immediately. After all, it smells exactly how new Barbie dolls smell, maybe a tad sweeter. Now I am so curious to explore oud in different houses and variations, but hope it has many facets. For sure I must explore more about Oud Oriental Pour Femme but guys, I can assure you this might be a signature scent easily but not an everyday to use one. I just don't know in which occation this could rock. Oud, saffron, heliotrope are doing the thing, faint or a whisper of vanilla/rose/sandalwood take them to the sky! p.s: Thank God not many people review/know it, so I must re-apply again and check lasting power & sillage. Pretend you didn't read this but I have also found out when and how to best use it! Again, it's crazy that all my favorites perfumes were born 2014!

I've had this scent for about a month and I have worn it in the house but not outside yet. It first sniff I wasn't all too pleased. I didn't dislike it but I didn't like it either. I am not upset about this because I had to have this all gold bottle on my vanity and though try not buy scent because of the bottle I just can't seem to control myself. At first spray the scent reminded me of watery raisins as it was lighter than I expected for a fragrance with Oud in it's name. About 10 minutes later the scent became a tough medicinal or more like Band-Aids to be exact. I decided to put it away and come back again to it later. I am so glad Id di because this scent is spectacular. I thought I would have buyers remorse but now I want a backup bottle. The scent smells like a glamorous woman who knows her worth. On my skin the rose is rather faint ( a good thing since I have a lot of rose/oud scents) but the saffron and sandalwood becomes so creamy and smooth. I love this scent so much!

Beautiful, long-lasting and great silliage. This is one of my favourites. The RRP is quite expensive but it can be easily found on sale. The bottle is beautiful and it smells very expensive. The main notes I detect are saffron, rose, oud and leather. It is very well blended. I find this leans feminine but it could be easily worn by a man. I sprayed this at night after taking a shower and when I woke up the next day I not only could still smell it on myself but my whole studio flat still smelled like it! The only other perfume that has done this for me so far is Baccarat Rouge 540! This makes me feel so elegant and luxurious when I wear it. It is not a jeans and t-shirt kinda scent, more of a silk robe and lingerie or dressed up kind of scent. I would wear this primarily for night time. I love wearing it around the house to feel good since there's nowhere to go right now... I will definitely re-purchase this if I ever run out. .

Ha Ha! i love that. jellyfish! All credibility gone. I was fortunate enough to obtain a sample of this. It is a very lovely floral/oud fragrance. Its name is accurate. On me the oud, leather and saffron are at the top of the list. The floral notes follow with the rose and heliotrope very evident. They sweeten this fragrance and aerate it. Perhaps its the heliotrope that provides the powderiness. This is no heavy oppressive oud fragrance but floral enough for any woman to feel relatively comfortable wearing. Definitely geared up for the western market. Moderate sillage and disappointingly only moderate longevity.

Not a big fan of the opening. Caught a bit of saffron but it really quickly disappeared. The drydown however is awesome! Very heavy on patchouli with a touch of good quality rose and a subtle oud note. Intresting and somewhat unique composition with it focusing on patchouli rather than rose with the oud that is given here a secondary role. I can tell it reminds me of estee lauder's wood mystique for the subtle oud accord. Nice fragrance overall with great quality juice that lasts easily for a day and just the perfect amount of sillage to be both intimate and alluring.

Just OMG!!!! What a Smell, Incredible, outstanding..... I tryed 2 woman parfumes, Ange ou Démon by Givenchy and This one, and both are TOP of Parfumes I have ever smelled...!!! I tested it once more, I cant describe the heaven I feel when I smell this one - lasts forever, smells the way you will never unuderstand while you didnt try :)) If I were a woman - this one is my signature parfume till I die :)) This spicey smell within is gorgeous. Its very sexy, and mesmerize. I will never have enough of Versace Oud Oriental for Woman :) Bravooo Versace

I've had this fragrance for over a year. I bought it through a site that allows no refunds. First impression: Straight water, NOTHING! I couldn't smell a thing, and the gold look of the bottle comes off as cheap, shows every damn fingerprint, plus my bottle was chipped. Was so pissed I demanded a refund and got it. Decided to try it again a few months later, and so happy that I gave it another chance. It's not an everyday fragrance, but I love it. It's a sweet, smoky, oud that's sexy.

This is everything I hoped it would be! Softly enveloping, creamy, rosey & spicey. The Oud is more of a support act, but so beautifully blended it doesn't sneak up, on you, you just realise it was there all along, providing the Ooomph & cushioning any sharpness. It is seductive, redolent of warm limbs & tangled cotton sheets, it just gets better & better.

I adore this. So much that when I bought the 100ml bottle my mum smelt it and bought some for herself too! Beautiful powdery floral but with an extremely warm base using the oud,some woods and some amber. Lovely for people who love oud but don't necessarily want it to punch you in the face like it can.

I truly love this creation! One of my favorite ouds ever as here it is so delicate, smooth and polite. The leather is felt only in the begging and the flowers are prominent, very well combined and lovable.

This is such a refined heliotrope violet leather 😍 it is my first spray and I sense a luxurious, ala Guerlain Cuir Beluga, perfume. No oud for now, just a soft plush powdery suede.

This came in a pack of fairly random samples which I bought because they seemed interesting and at least a few were of fragrance houses, never mind fragrances, that I have never heard of. THE GIST It doesn't quite work on my skin, but it's interesting and not bad at all, warm, woody but soft, with very noticeable oud and leather. Very worth testing. ** From all this marketing gold I expected a sweet, heavy oriental, but the bitter oud notes and the tarry smoke of leather mask these well. I was also hoping for saffron, but alas no noticeable saffron for me in this composition. On paper, this starts fresh but substantial and just a little flowery. However, I got none of that fresh flower on my skin where the fragrance settled immediately into a deep, slightly bitter oud/leather/woody accord with something that I would call a faint fenugreek note to avoid calling it a faint stockcube note. An hour later, the fenugreek bit is still not completely gone from my skin, while the paper strip is smelling lovely and ethereal which must be the heliotrope/violet part kicking into action. Later on, the drydown proves to be the best part of the scent, as it probably should be with oud-ish orientals. On my skin it's pillowy, warm and velvety, with just a touch of the oud bitterness and leather's tar and overall pretty nice, while on paper it's positively lovely, still warm and smooth but lighter. It's not that much of a leather fragrance, yet to me it evokes the softness of the highest-quality glove leather, the kind that underwear is occasionally made of. Like a leather blanket, if there is such a thing. Going with this analogy, if the fabric of this fragrance is high-grade leather, then its ''colour'' on drydown is fawn - even though its packaging is very, very golden. On paper it's still going strong 12 hours after application, though without much sillage, On my wrists it's completely gone. All in all, a nice try and if you are looking for a warm oriental with wood, oud and leather this might be worth a test. Unfortunately it doesn't quite work with my skin.

In the beginning, the oud and patchouli are most evident, with their dark warmth and peppery greeness, and a hint of some sort of earthy spice, which is presumably the saffron. This blends to form a smoky sort of haze, which is exotic and delicious and slowly gets softer, as it dries down, with the sweet rose becoming more noticeable, that's joined by a touch of smooth sandalwood. I don't get any leather on my skin at all. Pour Femme Oud Oriental is oud designed for Western consumers; however, the issue with this scent is that it is "too safe" for those whom are already heavily into oud fragrances (Arabic oils, indie or niche) and "too bizarre" for those whom prefer the more common, sweeter designer perfumes. This would explain it's lack of success in the marketplace. Whilst I do sit in the middle, (oud is still exciting for me) I could see the novelty of this one wearing off quite quickly, as the combination of oud, patchouli and rose is often overused, and the "mass appeal" of this particular scent would soon start to bore me. But I do hope that I'm wrong... Having said that, this is a lovely gateway oud fragrance, and could be considered a hidden gem for some. I will be experimenting with this in the different seasons, as I have the feeling that it would blossom on a hot summer's evening. Moderate to soft sillage, but has the potential to be heavy in some weathers; longevity is for about 4-5 hours.

I've kinda fallen for this one of late. Initial spray is a bit puzzling but within a minute the florals bloom. I found heliotrope pretty easily. I love the powder that accompanies it, must be the violets as others mention? A gentle, almost lipstick like powdery scent. But I also adore oud, and this is a gentle oud. I must be getting accustomed to patchouli because for me it isn't very discernable. It must be way in the background, giving a sense of presence and greenness to the florals who dominate the first 30 minutes. What really sends me... what REALLY *sends me* is the leather note that doesn't stand up on my skin until about an hour into wear. It's exactly like sniffing the inside of my vintage Chanel flap, and I'm astounded to find it in a perfume so accurately. I put on another layer just to write this, and to experience that delicious leather note in about an hour or so. This is a newfound love. 💋 Update: gah! That leather note I love has been hiding every time I wear this of late 😭

Versace Oud Oriental strikes me as a relatively bright rose fragrance. The opening features a dewy sweet rose with green and peppery edge. Within 1 or 2 minutes, oud emerges along with a buttery leather. But the overall effect is still luminous as oud and leather, although fairly detectable, play supporting roles to render the rose more voluptuous while retaining its radiance. As time wears on, the rose sometimes picks up a more spicy tonality. But it eventually becomes a slightly powdery, rose-raspberry-violet skin scent, as oud fades into a background echo with sandalwood after about 4 hours. The sillage is relatively soft and the longevity is around 8 hours. The oud here is indeed very polite and tamed. I'd recommend it to those who enjoy rose or floral scents in general, but would like a slightly more woody rendition.

What makes this perfume different from other oud perfumes is saffron. It makes it modern, western and clean. If you like Agent Provocateur (classic) and what something similar - here you are! If you like ouds, ambers, flowers, powder, sweets, vanilla, roses, cucumber, fruits and other compotes - stay away from this "jellyfish". It's for those very confident, open minded (which does not mean saying yes to one night stand, it's rather saying no to everything until you are 100% sure it ticks all your boxes). It is not over feminine, but definitely not masculine. In my view it's the best Versace perfume I ever tried. Can bet it was heavily influenced by Italians.

Just okay. It's extremely one-note despite its list of ingredients. It just doesn't go anywhere. I put it on and smell oud and patchouli with a very slight hint of rose and two hours later, yep oud and patchouli with a very slight hint of rose. It is not BAD by any means, it's just extremely simple. The smell is actually quite pleasant and unassuming. I've taken to layering it with Miss Dior, which also has vanilla, rose, and sandalwood and the two work really nicely together. Because while Pour Femme Oud lacks any real floral power, Miss Dior is weak on the sandalwood note. Put them together and WHAMMO, each gives the other what they're missing.

Sweet powdery/violet-y saffron-y patchouli-esque Leather. Good for layering, not great enough on its own. Definitely not for someone young. I'm getting the vibes of a lawyer lady with her leather briefcase. Smells womanly/grown and serious, but still powdery and feminine. I'll pair this with silly/ light fragrances to ground them. THIS will be my grown woman perfume of my twenties. Not too mature, but makes me feel adult enough at this stage of my life. Honestly, maybe this could work with Gucci Guilty or Marc Jacobs Lola or Jo Malone Velvet Rose and Oud. Will have to test.

Warm spicy and lovely. Not the floral I was expecting. The oud takes center stage with vanilla, leather, and saffron. The violet does stand out as a sweet counterpoint. This is one of those facinating scents that get fresher as they settle. I really must I love how saffron gets clean and powdery. There is more rose too, but it doesn't merge with the oud and become a rose-oud. The oud just slipps to the background and gives richness and depth. This scent breathes strength. It's the image of a woman in charge. Unapologetically feminine but never girly.

Received it, and tested that day because I like to compare with time/age, and it was a blind buy, and I’m impatient. Veeeery powdery, no leather, no oud. Soapy dry down. Meh. ***After sitting a month, retested on a cold day - much more leather, still a bit soapy, but sweeter. Simple, lightly elegant, inoffensive, sweet leathery oud. Quiet, but beautiful. ***4 months later and it’s a completely different perfume! So much stronger, oud/leather/rose predominately, with heliotrope and violet keeping it super soft and feminine.

And to answer one of the previous bad reviews - yes it's unnatural! The best luxury unnaturally prominent, unnaturally brave, unnaturally clean, unnaturally oriental, unnaturally oud. All for those who loves alternatives which do not compromise traditional quality. I love foods and always have a pinch of the best quality saffron in my messy kitchen drawers. And my messy drawers fool of various food, sauces and spices always smell unbelievably clean, thanking to saffron.

I blind bought this based on the reviews (thank you, @UnearthlyApothecary!). I have to say that I was quite pleasantly surprised by this. The sweetness of the floral composition is overt, but not cloying (at all). I feel like the base gives this a soft, almost velvety feeling as you sniff it. I don't detect much oud; but, that isn't a detraction. This is a lovely fragance.

Longevity zero ! Just for that I wouldn't purchase it , I had a tester yesterday I really wanted to love this because of the components and I love oriental woody fragrances but not for me , didn't last more then 3 hours then the scent was completely gone !

This is a gentle oud. Oud, rose, saffron, leather, but what makes it unique is a lot of candied violet. The sweet violet really comes through on my skin and I love it, it makes the fragrance different from other common rose/oud fragrances.

Jellyfish, lmao! I really like this fragrance, it's comforting and familiar. I would like a little more oud, but I would say this is a very safe fragrance, slightly unique. I think this is a soft and inoffensive, fairly sweet fragrance.

BEAUTIFUL! Soft creamy leather rosey vanilla lol with some woodsy base. Very feminine and put together!! I’m lovinnng this 👌 The woodsy base with creamy vanilla is same like in Kayali vanilla sugared patchouli’s dry down.

Luxurious oriental fragrance in a cute golden bottle. It's very very woody in my opinion. The most exquisite of Versace's perfumes. I would love to wear this pleasant fragrance in theatre or in some fancy restaurant.

Smells like a less sweet version of Donna Valentino. Make up powdery. It’s an okay fragrance. Nothing groundbreaking. The bottle doesn’t quite match the juice inside.

very lovely perfume I can describe it with vanilla and light oud mix .. the more its settle it the skin the more its be lighter and softer with a vanilla sense

I bought this sight unseen attracted by the words: Oriental and Oud. I love orientals and i like my oud daily fix :-). Very few Versace fragrances have worked for me in the past, and I should have remembered. This fragrance is nice. But it doesn't work for me. It's elegant, not at all in your face, has a persistent leathery note (inside of a designer's or luxury purse) and a lovely clean rose note, the effect is a polite, flowery leathery feminine scent. This could be worn any time, office included. However, to me there's no aoud and not enough oriental smelling note to justify it. Sillage is modest and it doesn't work well with my skin. It's a timid like but not a love. Stunning bottle, though. PS: I am selling my 100ml full bottle at a good price, Europe only. Pls pm me.

Bought this from scentbox.com which allows me to pick scents and I get it in 8ml atomizer. Chose this for my first month and because I'm a fan of oud and leather I thought I would adore this but I'm left feeling empty. I don't hate it but I don't like it. Very linear for me. I am contemplating what occasion I can wear this to but I am left with nothing tbh. There's no sweetness to it, doesn't reflect the powdery or floral accords either. Definitely not a stand out come hither scent. Lol Update after 2hours the scent is more powdery and floral. Subtle sweet skin scent. I’m liking it more. But what a surprise!

Bad, VERY BAD. I couldn't smell anything at all from the list above. No oud , no saffron no nothing, it's headache in a golden bottle. It is like they poured a SINGLE ingredient into this bottle which kind of smells like girls manicure maybe or ink or cosmetics or something really really unnatural! I am not an expert at all, but i suspect this heliotrope note maybe, cause roses don't smell bad, neither does oud! ps. I agree with u guys, Yes it does last forever and Yes I had to scrub my hand to be able to sleep!

I've tried a sample, but this one isn't for me. It does have some opening and mid notes I like, but in the end (about 30 minutes later), the rose dominates and is unnatural smelling. One of the few fragrances I had to wash off. To me, it's an '80's' type of rose scent - bold and synthetic.Good thing there is a million different fragrances so we can all find something that smells good on ourselves! :-)

Awful, I'm sorry to say. Tried it earlier and to my nose there's nothing rose or oud about it. Just aquatic and salty. Very faint from the start without layers. I don't understand the notes? It smells nothing like the listed ingredients? So glad I didn't blind buy. Try before you buy! If you like womanity you might enjoy this. Ps. The dry down is ok, like soap, but not the fancy kind.

I'm a fan of A few versaces, but I tried this from a sample and yuck! Have you ever walked into art van or a place with a bunch of male salesmen wearing way heavy cologne that makes you want to gag? That's all I could think of. Dry down is better but I just smell over done generic male cologne to the 10th power. Oy!

Awful!!! I could not smell any oud or leather or sandalwood, just very in your face freesia, heliotrope and some rose. Not a good combination. Had to scrub and still it was too strong. Lasted way too long!

For me the violet completely overwhelms the other components of this fragrance so it's a complete no-no for me. I'm afraid I find Versace fragrances lack any subtlety and this one is no exception.

For me the violet is all pervading and detracts from anything else in this one. I find it sweet and sickly. Definitely not one for me.

I've been observing that people that dislike Oriental Oud lean to the extremes of the fragrance spectrum. The people that are into super-sweet fragrances and celebrity scents find this scent to be too different and "too much" compared to the fragrances they are used to, and the niche lovers find Oriental Oud basic and uninteresting compared to the more esoteric fragrances they've explored. A lot of us fall into the middle ground here; however, and I guess that's why I thought O.O. would have ascended into popularity by now. It's familiar enough to appeal to the masses that have been immersed in a rotation of sweet scents for decades, but has some sultry smokiness that sets it apart. While oud is on a descent for the frag-obsessed it seems like the masses are just now coming around to it, and I also see this scent complementing modern fashion...so why is it not taking off? Why does Oriental Oud seem difficult to come by, too? Was its release received so poorly that it's already on its way into discontinued land? Was this even marketed excessively and aggressively like other large fashion house scents are these days? I just don't get it...I thought Oriental Oud would have fared better. *shrugs*

Oud Oriental is sultry in a way that's easy for the brain to process - it's not exotic to the point of confusion, nor does it open up one way and drastically change to a completely different scent over time. The rose featured here feels red, velvety and deep and is surrounded by powdery violet, almond-like heliotrope and vanilla. The florals would be likeable enough on their own, as they are a popular mix of sweet and creamy, but the addition of woods and soft leather add a sexy, smoky haze that makes Oud Oriental's composition stand out. The patchouli adds a brightness to the composition which enhances the other facets instead of overpowering them. I feel like a "normal" kind of sexy when I wear this, which is a nice change for me. Good stuff. I hope more mass market frag houses attempt things like this.

I saw this perfume being offered in low price online and I really want to like it. So I went to nearby Sephora to test it on my skin. Well, of course I have some expectation after reading what you all had commented. I expect it to be as good as Gucci Oud. Sprayed on my wrist, an hour after that I got disappointed. This is a very nice, classy, elegant and classic. Soft, the oud here is less dominant than Gucci Oud. So why I dont like it? This perfume remind me of some other perfume, and it remind me of my grandmother. She wore some perfume that smell like this one back in 90s and early 2000. Give it a try first, but I believe lots of you will like it. I just dont like my perfume remind me of other perfume, I love masterpiece perfume. So, passed.

I am a newbie here... I work in an optical shop and was on the Versace website searching for eyeglass frames and saw this perfume. I don't usually spring for something this expensive if I haven't tried it, but I loved the notes listed and tried it. It was delivered the next day and I'm thrilled! The bottle is amazing, which I was happy about because I figured if I hated the scent I'd at least be able to decorate with it! But I it. It started with a blast of oud, leather and saffron, which I expected, but it the floral notes softened it quickly. It's definitely NOT a sweet, powdery floral (thank God!). The leather and floral is a really interesting combination and it's strong but wearable. I wore it to work and no one complained. Love it!

So, I hadn't read about this perfume before I tried by chance at department store. I just fell in love with it! I'm not sure if the love will last, I have to try it on again first, but so far it seems like the oriental, night-timed fragrance I've been wanting for so long. Most of the heavier fragrances in my wardrobe are miniatures, good ones, but not loved ones you know, so I've been searching for one to invest in. It's a little weird, but in a good way, sweet but not so sweet and candy-like, and I like that you can get the rose, but it's not the fresh, girly kind of rose, that instead it's surrounded by warmth so to speak.

All I can think of is of the intensity of Medusa's stare at whoever wrote up the Fragrantica description calling her a "Typical emblem engraved in the shape of a jellyfish is set in the central part of the body of the bottles"...WHAT??? Who wrote this? Someone who does not know either Versace, Medusa or jellyfish!! So just to confirm, although I suspect that it's entirely unnecessary for most Fragrantica users, despite the above Fragrantica description to the contrary - Versace does not use a jellyfish motif, and jellyfish are not women with snakes for hair whose stare will turn you to stone.

This is just "OK" to me. It is closer to Clinique Beyond Rose than any other perfume I have ever smelled, if you know what that smells like. This isn't The Bond 9's, Nor the Montales. Not even close. It has that Versace touch to it, like one of the original ones from back in the day. I get No leather, & is THAT Oud*?? Just a meh powdery weird Rose. It doesn't stink, but I do regret blind buying. If you know what Clinique BR smells like, that is better, & does last longer. This disappears. Oh well...another one to keep around in the bathroom.

Beautiful, soft and warm fragrance. Unapologetically feminine and super classy. This for me is a confident woman's perfume, for a dame that knows how to carry herself. Stylish, elegant and rich. Different. Rose, patchouli, agar wood and saffron, with just a hint of sweet vanilla and mild heliotrope. Very soft and almost creamy, leathery floral. Very beautiful and so well blended. And the bottle looks so expensively classy. Stunner. Brilliant addition to my feminine collection.

Modern oud, that trying to please all sorts of people. It is sweet and floral, leather is wearable even by those, who normally can't stand leather, oud is soft and sugar-coated as well. Nothing challenging or extremely impressive, yet it is Ok, - powdery tamed "oud" with not so much of a rose. Price tag is too high for the quality, - that's for sure. I would get FB for £40 though.
