Cerise Sur Le Gateau

Cerise Sur Le Gauteau is a scent I received blindly, as it was not part of the original discovery set. I chose it because the notes sounded absolutely delicious; and I’m very glad I did. This is a truly fantastic gourmand, and in my opinion the best from the house. This absolutely smells very Christmassy in my opinion. The almond is the most prominent note, it’s increasingly dry, powdered and slightly bitter, whilst remaining significantly sweet and sugared. This is elevated by a fluffy, cakey nature complemented by a creamy, chocolatey frosting. There also seems to be a hint of warm spiciness lingering in the background. It’s surprising just how accurate the note breakdown is - it really does smell like cake and almonds, in the best way. Not only that, but the longevity is great considering it’s a roll-on.

What is better than cherries? Well, amazing perfumers of this Versatile masterpieces know well. Combination of almonds, cream and rummy accords is astonishing. So gourmand and sexy! There is apellative leather touch also, makes it darker. Cardamom adds spiciness to the rich coffee note. (Bianco Latte vibe here!) Fragrance melts on the skin naturally, warm. Cashmeran and Iso E super are tamed, yet noticable: the scent is comforting. Vanilla is the final, sweet touch. My signature perfume is Accrodisiaque, where I sense similarity: it is dark, sensual, feminine, but there is also confident, calm beauty. So convincing scent, full of expressions, masterly combined. Creates graceful aura, permanent joy. Bravo! --- Longevity is good, solid 4-5 hours, moderate projection. More autumn-winter season.

This is perfume is so delicious, The cake accord is so realistic you can almost taste it, The cherry is present but not overwhelming, and it doesn't give me a headache like other perfumes with cherry notes do Overall the notes are really well blended and the result is a delicious almond cake, with a cherry on top

I dont like cherry scents but this is perfect. I have a sample and was so surprised! I need a full bottle. The cherry note is in the background so it smells to me like nutty cookies with chocolate with a hint of cherry. Very very nice.

First whiff gives me a potent Mozart Kugel scent, which, I am a fan of Mozart Kugeln, but I wouldn't want to smell like one. But soon it develops into a beautiful skin scent, still edible but more perfume-like. I would wear this gladly

On first try the opening smells like black forest cake, really delicious sweet cherry-chocolate. The dry down becomes warmer and spicier, similar to other cherry scents. Really fantastic!

on my skin it smells like tapioca pearls from bubble tea - a need edit: bought it hehehe 😘

This is lovely! VERY realistic cherry sponge cake on opening, though the 'cake' part blends out as the fragrance settles. As a mild word of caution, this CAN be a spring summer frag if you go light handed, but it is worth calling out that the sweetness gets a little cloying when fully dried down, and it lands a little in the smoky 'Lost Cherry' territory, which is far more A/W. The Fruits discovery set .. in fact all of their discovery sets are DEFINITELY worth a sample. The Versatile house is an absolute hidden gem of a house. You can thank me later! :)

It smells like a butter biscuit ( petit beurre if you’re French) with a side of dark cherry. Very gourmand and warm, the cake note is very prominent. I see this being more of a fragrance for colder days, very pleasant and edible scent.

I’ve been looking for an almond-cherry or marzipan fragrance for a while now. This is lovely and doesn’t smell like cough syrup which is an issue I have with a lot of other cherry perfumes. So yummy!

I really wanted this to smell like a Black Forest gateaux but it’s more of a Cherry Bakewell to my nose. My hubby can smell the cake element, but I can’t detect it. It’s still a love.

Smells like a black forest cake. Sweet chocolate, whipped cream, ripe cherries. Its a shame the longevity is so poor, I need to reapply it a lot.

Oh this is fascinating. On my skin chemistry, this is a very, very waxy scent — almost candle vibes — between myself and the scent that everyone else is discussing in the comments. Up top, I got waxy cherry, vanilla. But the wax waned over the first 20 minutes or so. In the middle, I get sweet some of that cake — Black Forest — vanilla almond with a hint of cherry -- almost a marzipan. But the whole thing is on a backbone — I thought it was some kind of woods, but perhaps its leather (not at all animalic). On the whole, it still feels very grown up to me (in a good way) — like dark chocolate, not marshmallows. Pretty linear. Minimal projection, no sillage.. Official tester — rollerball.

Very potent boozy chocolate cake with a cherry drizzle.

Obessed. Not a huge fan of almond nor cherry. But this perfume has my heart. Smells like buttery cherry pie crust to me. I like to layer it sometimes with Profumum Roma’s Confetto to give Confetto a sweeter more gourmand touch, also wear it alone to go to bed sometimes. Gave my friend a sample of it and she told me later that she wears it every time she’s about to have sex with someone, find that funny and definitely impacted my opinion on the sexiness of this fragrance.

Another great creation from this brand, i adore them from the very beginning!! I prefer almond note over cherry so i hoped the cherry will not be too dominant. Thankfully on me its more almondy and cakey and the cherry stays in the background. My only problem is with its poor longevity.

This smells not like the components of a cake but just a straight up slice of cherry cake. I only wish Versatile made this in an oil formula, but if you want to smell (for a few hours) like a cherry boozy almond cake I really don't think you'll be disappointed.

on blotter - chinese food, baked, sweet sour salty. on skin the opening is a baked good, buttery no cherry after 20min it develops into a beautiful almondy cherry cake and after an hour its gone. oh well

This is the most realistic cake scent I've ever smelled, fresh cake right out of the oven and warm cherries. I usually won't even use rollerballs, but this is so good I had to have it

Haven't smelled them side by side,, but from what I remember it reminds me a lot of God Bless Cola..
