Culot Thé

I got Versatile discovery card and out of the 5 vials I received, Culot The is one of my top 2. Upon smelling it for the first time, I got a very energizing, citrusy zing with green, slightly vegetal tea notes shadowing in the background (however, not much of jasmine). If you're looking for a good out-of-shower vibe in a perfume, please try this! The best part about Culot The, the oil does not smell "perfumey" at all. It smells very natural and almost photorealistic honestly. Thanks to good quality of EOs, I suppose. I can't stop smelling myself when I have this on my skin. The scent does not travel far (it just lingers on my skin with ±10 cm projection lol) so if that's what you're looking for in a perfume then this might not meet your expectation. Note: I see some ppl compare this to Goutal's Le Chevrefeuille (also my fav from Goutal house!). Although both bear resemblance in terms of freshness, I feel like LC has more herbal & floral façade and not as zingy/tart as this. LC is like the breeze of air you'd smell if you're running through a countryside meadow while the sun is out, as for CT it smells more like a aromatic, high quality lemon-tea concoction. Both are really good pick-me-up scents btw!

This is such an intriguing line of fragrances; I was underwhelmed by the ones I expected to adore (still nothing I dislike, though), and absolutely fell for a couple that I thought I'd pass on. This is one of the latter, and in the top three (two? I keep flip-flopping) of the line for me. On me, this starts out zesty and citrusy, but very quickly becomes that apricoty black tea others mention. So far, very pleasant but nothing to get me truly intrigued (although you can pick up a bit of that wasabi, which definitely adds interest). But then! I keep getting hit with waves of the coumarin after the first 30 minutes or so, mixing with the jasmine and still retaining just a little bit of its earlier kick. To me, this is a lovely, extremely wearable everyday scent that still manages to be just a little special.

"Tea" is indeed a proper word to describe this perfume. The kind of tea scent that I'd always dreamed to find. Delicate yet noticeable, nectary, comforting like a hug, a green happy floral scent that's not too sweet or overbearing, with a hint of coconut-like gourmet flavor. You want to smell it again and again, which happens to many other perfumes from Versatile. One thing I appreciate about this perfume is that the sillage is sweet and does not smell too bitter in the end.

Sharp as a knife! Lemon and wasabi will really dilate your pupils. It is almost unwearable. And then, this fragrance become a calm embrace: rich, full and heady. The aroma of green tea is absolutely real and jasmine complements it beautifully. You will also notice the sour apricot soon: it keeps the scent captivating and provocative. Culot Thé is amazing, complex perfume. I am looking forward to experience it again: there is so much to explore!

I agree with the review below this is beautiful mood booster, comforting & mellow. This is a green, jasmine & tea scent that immediately calms your senses. I find floral green scents really relaxing and this would be great at bed time too or in stress induced situations. A comforting hug in a bottle. Fresh, green, zesty and very TEA. This is my current go to bright spring scent. I had been looking for a jasmine tea scent that wasn’t necessarily sweet and this is it for me. I always get compliments when wearing this one! (I was told it was a shop favorite as well!)

This just smells GOOD. I understand that it would not be everyone's favorite but my wow is it mine. Tea leaves and sugar cubes steeped a little too long, until they become slightly bitter. Damp wind through a garden in early spring. This smells like poetry.

I absolutely adore culot thé! To me, it smells like green tea with a hint of jasmine that you steeped a little too long (so it’s slowly getting cold and bitter) and then added a bit of sugar.

Such an experience. A tea scent at the heart, but accented in greenness, zippy wasabi, sweet and sour fruits and melty musk. I'm here for it.

Finally a strong tea that's nuanced, balanced and moist all over. And cheeky, of course! Not the ride I was expecting after the naïve opening: It's sweet and juicy like an overripe apricot. Slowly, around the edges of this sweetness I get a peppery, zesty, spicy hotness one second, an effervescent citrusy-bright sparkle the next. Then the apricot dissipates like a mirage, and I finally see it's been a dewy jasmine flower all along. It gets covered in fresh soil and peed on by a dog. Oh, drenched in tart black tea, actually. There's so much tea that it's disappeared for some time, just the vague presence of a body of water nearby remains. Suddenly, upon all that tea, there floats an army of halved young coconuts filled with jasmine flowers soaked with salty-fragrant sweat. A wave of tart black tea overtakes them. A strong earl grey tide, then nothing. There comes some balmy sandalwood smoke carried on a gust of shiny amber-warm wind. Maybe it blew through some jasmine bushes - I think I can even smell the bees and something green-spicy. Now, it's sickly sweet bad breath like old garlic and moth balls. Now, it's perfect milky oolong and not the chemically flavored sh*t either, the one with natural osmanthus so yellow-bright and still dusty with pollen. Now, there's wet pollen everywhere. Then nothing. Powdered vetiver, roasted amber, fruity floral musk. All drowning in perfect milky oolong. With a hint of metallic jasmine? Oh, there's that apricot again. One smoky, musky, juicy apricot...with tea. Well grounded, ever-evolving yet spacious in its buoyancy. Brilliantly done. To those whose first experience with this fragrance resembles @hoikatia's: Try again, please! I did and fell in love :) The scent's reaction with my hand soap might've had something to do with the first-time nastiness *hint hint*

GIVING THAI RESTAURANT VIBES. Take this with a grain of salt...or rice....or boba..... I really wasn't sure what to think of this scent. It is very complex at every stage of the developing. Af first you think the jasmine is going to shine through but then almost immediately you get this aroma of sweet n sour and then like 5 minutes later all the cold wet tea bags pop up. It really throws a curve ball at you. Then in the dry down I felt like I had just walked out of an extended dinner at a Thai food restaurant. You know when you smell your clothes the morning after and you can still smell the sweetness of the food you had the night before.?...That's what it smells like to me. Overall, I would say this is very interesting and you don't get what you are expecting. But somehow you also end up liking it??? All very confusing...I know. I usually had to mix this with other heavy Jasmine scents to make this work. Not a blind buy. More boba please!!!

Got this from my sister for christmas, it opens very bright, fresh and citrusy with a hint of spice from the ginger, then settles into a mellow, hyper realistic apricot skin, not sweet but tart and velvety, mixed with grounding and relaxing green tea throughout the day. Definitely a skin scent but good longevity like most of Versatile's fragrances, I get wafts of it hours after I've applied it and I think it would be interesting to layer this with a body splash like Elizabeth Arden Green Tea. Not my absolute favourite fragrance in my collection but a very lovely scent that is perfect for spring and summer, and very different from all of the other perfumes I have. As with all of the brand's scents, I love that I can just toss this into my bag and copiously reapply throughout the day as the tiny roll on oil bottles last forever, but I'm still curious to try the spray version of this fragrance that is coming out soon.

In a house of strange, daring gourmands, Culot Thé stands out as one of the more mass appealing/normal fragrances. Looking at the note breakdown, it’s easy to be put off, seeing notes of wasabi and garlic, but thankfully these are non-existent to my nose. The tea is the main player here, however it doesn’t have the typical dry, earthy facets which most tea scents have; instead, an array of citrus, ginger and jasmine make it light and airy, with a gentle clean sweetness. That’s pretty much all I’m getting, I feel like the ‘weirder’ notes were just put there as marketing to garner a reaction. I like it, it’s not my favourite from the house but it’s certainly not my least - easy to wear and easy to like. Unfortunately it does dwindle fairly quickly, and falls a little flat after some time - the lack of alcohol doesn’t help.

Sampling Versatile Paris - Culot The, a very pleasant mix of tea, jasmine, ginger, and bergamot, especially. The tea is fittingly at the center, with floral and citrus accents, mostly, with just a touch of provocation via the ginger, though overall, the blend is very comforting and versatile. Anyone could wear this anytime. It does not make a huge impression and is not a loud statement, but rather, a sophisticated, subtle, and still multifaceted creation that I quite like, and which continues to add diversity to this house. Like the rest of the line, Culot The is priced at $55 for 15ml, in extrait concentration, sold in a rollerball bottle via boutiques like Ministry of Scent. 7 out of 10

It's so good. My third fav I think from them. It's fresh and gentle and sweet and floral. And after drying down, there is a definite slight stank going on. It's like walking through a tea garden and someone trails a slight hint of stale breath past you lol. Or maybe it's like a garden and someone airs out a musty room and you get a whiff. Honestly I don't hate the stank, it's just curious. I only tried on blotter so I'd be curious to see how it works on skin.

Ahhhh, Culot Thé.....what an interesting fragrance ! It’s a very realistic jasmine tea scent that is veryyyyyy spicy and has the nose tickling quality of wasabi. It does have a slight underlying funk because of the garlic but I like it ! It’s not milky by any means, it’s definitely more of a fresh - spicy type of tea fragrance. Beware because it’s STRONG.

I first tried this perfume shortly after a holiday in Hong Kong and yes! That fresh jasmine tea scent took me straight back - it's remarkably straightforward with just the right vegetal depth. It doesn't last terribly long but the cute little roll-on bottle makes this an overall relaxed and portable scent. A reliable mood booster for tea lovers.

There were a lot of layers to this fragrance. This started out very fresh and watery. I didn't actually get much citrus. After a few minutes I could begin to sense the spicy Wasabi in the background, but it didn't last very long. The dry down is a very realistic, fresh jasmine flower. Like you had just picked the flower and held it up to your nose. I do get a smidge toasty sesame seed in the background as well as something reminiscent of gardening loam. Later is when I feel the tea starts to emerge and compliment the jasmine. Again, very fresh and realistic. A unique scent, but not as unique as I was hoping for when looking at the pyramid. I would say this is a very office-safe scent. Not quite my thing, but I respect the artistry.

garlicky, sharp tea. the jasmine is very prominent and indolic. smells like the fruit seller slipped garlic cloves in a bunch of fragrant herbs you just bought from him. there's a fruity quality to this that makes it endearing and somewhat pleasant. but overall it's too dirty and not sensual enough to be worn out and about (at least for me).
