Rital Date

Wow this stuff is good; the notes make it look so much more intimidating than it actually is. I don't detect any garlic and even "pesto" is a reach. My skin pulls Rital Date more in the direction of a very fresh Italian dessert at a high-end establishment, like a citrus gelato with sprigs of basil. Sweet and herbal; could also be a mixed drink. It even gives me a bit of a cold feel, in a way that's refreshing and easy to wear. One of the best uses of ambroxan I have encountered, and I am typically in the neutral to dislike range regarding it. I'm surprised there's no mint, as it gives me that impression. While aromatic, it is still soft enough to not be bracing nor too intense. I can put it on early in the morning without it causing a headache or nauseating me, but it is also a great dining out scent, as it compliments food smells rather than competing with them. Initially, I wished Versatile made EDPs rather than oils, though I am coming around. The format keeps it gentle and person, which I think suits the fragrance itself. Perfect for cool and damp spring days, and I am excited to try it in other temperatures. A true unisex and a rare love from me. Update to say this is a COOL weather scent! Smells much less pleasant on warm skin.

I can't believe this one. I was so surprised by this I actually gasped 😭 I was so nervous about it smelling like ASS so I only got a 1mL sample... so regretting that decision. I need a full bottle asap. I don't think I've ever experienced an herbal-sweet scent like this anywhere before. It's the perfect balance of salty and sweet. I've never been to Italy but I can perfectly picture the vision this perfume is going for, makes me feel like I'm eating pasta and drinking an aperol spritz like I'm in season 2 of White Lotus. It's thick without being nauseating, light without being nonexistent, and savory without smelling like sweat/meat/BO/etc. I find basil very overpowering in scents a lot of the time, but the herbs in this are soooo perfectly balanced it created this unified aromatic note that I kept sniffing over and over and over. I particularly enjoy the oregano which I think is the one I smell the most prominently. Same with olive and paprika, I was scared about those overpowering/creating some unintended yucky note like cumin does, but nope. Insanely well-blended. Reminds me very much of Pho Breakfast with the herbal-citrus thing going on, this is just the Italian food version of that! 10/10

This is such an intriguing line of fragrances; I was underwhelmed by the ones I expected to adore (still nothing I dislike, though), and absolutely fell for a couple that I thought I'd pass on. This is the only scent in the line I had no idea how I'd react to - all the notes got me interested, but I couldn't imagine what it'd be like. Well, after wearing all the fragrances from the line for the past few weeks to sample over and over, I think this one is now my favorite. It's just so INTERESTING, and such a journey, so special but so wearable. The first few notes I get are the citruses, then immediately the herbs, especially the basil. A little later, and for a long while, those first notes mellow into the softness of the coumarin and musk, and by the end, after a few hours, I'm left with the fir. Wonderful the entire way through. My sole nitpick is that I wish this scent projected a little more - it's not a skin scent, and people within talking distance will still smell it, but it's just so good I wish people across the room could smell me wearing something so lovely, even though I normally prefer a very soft sillage. It's just so delicious I want to show it off!

Bought myself the little sample kit a few years ago and after initially not being impressed by any of them and the fact that these are oils, I just dug it out again because of the positive reviews on this particular one. Put some on and I actually really love it! Still not a fan of the packaging of the samples (pulling out the little stopper on the sample is difficult and it has given me oily stains every time 😝) but this scent, sweet baby J it is good! The basil and lemon are the main players but the side characters are definitely doing their thing too, especially the herbs and the pistachios 🥰. Price is pretty decent, €59 for 15ml. It is that I already own the matcha 26, which I find to be a little too similar to this, otherwise I would’ve bought the full size.

I got the discovery set and I am so glad I did. What an amazing house. I love this scent most of all 8. It's lemon, sweet, savory, creamy, pesto. But also somehow none of those things, it smells like one thing. It works so well. It's so interesting. A lot going on here. The lemoncello chills out after a while on me which is nice, it's a bit strong off the bat, although I'm hardly complaining. I haven't been wowed by a perfume in a while and this one is unreeeeeeal. So good. This is what I would wear if I wanted to move to Europe and adopt a new hot personality lol. As it is, I'm going to wear it here in Canada and be transported.

Crazy stunning fresh citrus that is almost alive to the senses! There are SO many notes, but the blend is just sublime - this is without doubt one of the most breathtaking citrus fragrances I have ever worn!! Light, uplifting, happy.. with a little ice cream and herbal touch which totally takes it away from air freshner/glass cleaner that even some top end brands can accidentally land in. Honestly, if you like citrus and fresh, go here - You can currently order a discovery kit directly from Versatile Paris for 20 euros, and right now this one is in it - 100%, this whole set is worth a try!!! This feels rich. But not in a ‘yachts and money’ way, but ‘rich in life’ - being around your closest people, having fun and calm mind on a sunny evening. It gives me warmth and comfort and Italiano la dolce vita. I can definitely smell the herbs (basil mainly), olive oil and sweet notes (sweet and savoury at the same time) - really like italian food - delicious is the word. It is full of many notes and flavours in the best way possible, not linear not heavy at all. Citruses (or limoncello) lighten it up somewhere afar. It moves and develops in a beautiful way. Love love love

i feel like violet beauregarde in willy wonka's factory chewing that 3-course dinner gum. one minute, it's fennel butter, the next, pesto. then salty, briny olives. now, it's limoncello to wash it down, and some dessert: pistachio gelato garnished with crunchy sesame crumbles. it transitions like a formless blurb, each minute morphing into something familiar and delicious. there's this breathy, aldehydic veil surrounding the whole. everything here exists simultaneously and in perfect harmony, yet the parts are discernible and just as substantial as their presence in total.

This is true masterpiece! Such a complex scent! I love the ice-cream creaminess, photorealistic conifer, tasty basil and nutty pistachio. It could be written more about the notes, however point is, this scent you wanna eat. It is so soft and comfy, you want to cuddle it. It is so fresh, that you are inspired to do something creative. Really, it is completely adorable. La dolce vita of Italy..<3

This fragrance is could be eatable, and can make anyone look tasty. I'm restraining myself to lick my boyfriends nape, publicly, when he wear it... It's so unique and i'm for petitioning brands to make more "savory" fragance because we don't need more sweet bombs. As a woman i can wear it, but i found myself enjoying it more on someone else

Whatever I said about Dimanche Flemme applies here, except that I'd probably wear this later at night. Going out after that dinner. It's more quiet and cozy, probably radiates nicely off of warm skin. Yeah, it's like a nightly counterpart to Dimanche Flemme. Much more mellow, I prefer this one after 30 minutes.

I actually love this, it reminds me of this cocktail I had at this lebanese restaurant. it was gingery but extremely flavourful and refreshing. there's a lot going on in the note breakdown lol but don't let that scare you, they compliment each other really well and it's not too savoury at all.

It opens with some nice bright citrus notes and then within 15 minutes its backed with some herbs and maybe a dash of fennel. I personally didn't get most of the notes and it remained rather linear but it was still very nice. It felt like shopping in a fancy home goods store in Italy.

My mouth is watering uncontrollably, this is a hyper-realistic savory gourmand. Like a dish of pasta drenched in olive oil with basil and lemon zest on top. Can I wear this in public without gnawing my arm off?? Unsure, but this is a MUST-TRY.

Sampling Versatile Paris - Rital Date, a fresh, savory, and spicy experience of pesto, complete with lemon, olive oil, oregano, cypress, and fennel, and a delicious but controlled, measured, and wearable gourmand experience, a real testament to the talent of the perfumer in this case. It’s smooth, easygoing, and walks the line between smelling realistic enough to be edible while also being pleasant on skin, and frankly pretty versatile, even though there’s not particular occasion that comes to mind when I would especially love to wear it, but I think it has a lot of possibilities and I’d recommend that others check it out. It’s not among my very favorites of the house but is quite unique and specially done. Like the rest of the line, Rital Date is priced at $55 for 15ml, in extrait concentration and rollerball application, sold by boutiques like Ministry of Scent. 7 out of 10

A comforting fragrance, straightforward, does not develop a lot after application. It's fresh, yet it has some sweet notes which give that cozy feeling. I think it's a safe perfume to wear, as I don't see it as possible "nose-offender". I don't find it very different from other "spicy-aromatic-citrus" perfumes, however it has this feel-good aroma which I cannot sense in most perfumes of this sort. For this reason, I would recommend it if you don't need something to stand out, but rather to make you feel good.

Im so addicted to this brand that i purchased all of them and i considered this one as my fav from the line. This is such an interesting scent and its changes everytime i smell it. Very complex and its just a summer in a bottle. Very zingy, but the citrus is kind of sweet for me wich makes it perfect because i dont like too sharp citrusy scents. Edit. I layered with MM Under the lemon trees and its a perfect citrus combo 👌🏽

The notes are deceiving. I can see how people smell pesto and all but this mostly smells exactly like Bergamot Essential Oil. It smells good obviously but I'm a little disappointed since I was expecting an Italian buffet of gourmand notes. Now some other notes are coming through... like woods and the faintest ambergris accords. It's still a mostly bergamot bomb. On the plus side, it's very long lasting.

I was at Ministry of Scent last weekend and one of the employees recommended this to basically everyone who walked into the store. This is a super fun, bright, cheery, sweet and savory scent that never becomes too gourmand or overpowering (likely due to the fact that it is a perfume oil. Pesto and basil are unmistakable, with a sweet airy citrus and freshly ground pistachio to bring it all together.

It really is fresh spicy! I am trying it on a cold day but I can imagine how wonderful this'll become in spring & summer. The rosemary, bergamot and basil, it is truly delicious! If Italy was a scent this would be it.
