1001

1001 initially smells a lot to me like Argos Fall of Phaeton. Minus the very first moments when it is a bit animalic, 1001 opens with a strong cinnamon-led scent (FOP doesn't have cinnamon, but I still catch the essence of it for some reason), with the ginger taking a close second. By the mid, that sweetness dissipates and leaves behind a smooth patchouli-woody fragrance (if oversprayed, it smells a little more floral) before becoming a smoky wood, like the inside of an old cedar chest that hasn't been opened in a while. This phase smells so good -- it's almost incense-like but much more sophisticated, attractive and addictive. In the dry drown, 1001 becomes more like a typical Middle Eastern amber fragrance, but with far less amber and more woodiness and a touch of sweetness, thank God. Nothing wrong with those kinds of fragrances, but it's such a crowded space and they all tend to smell alike after a while. 1001 makes itself unique from that crowd. I can't really speak to 1001's performance yet because I haven't worn it out, but if it performs even half decently, I will for sure be buying a full bottle. Unlike what other reviewers have said, 1001 is NOT expensive. At under $90 on some discount sites, it's a total steal.

Idk what everyone is gibberishing and gabberishing here about this fragrance smelling like that and pretty much for someone who didn't put his nose on this will never understand how it smells like. LET ME explain. It is actually a powerhouse fragrance, not a monster like Oriental Rose but still a really strong frag. It is very complex yet simple to describe its smell : PREMIUM CANDIES. It literally smells like luxurious fruity candies.

Cinnamon without being heavy or cloying. It feels like it's Christmas all year. Cozy and intriguing. Not beast mode but a good 6 hours longevity will give you. Try it on a 5 ml decant.

Pretty complex vanilla amber scent. Love it and how it played around with notes. Despite its complexity, it should be a surprisingly easy to wear sweet scent.

Okay I feel stupid... I looked up Vanilla Oud by vertus and I saw an $85 price tag from MaxAroma. I thought it was an insane steal so I bought right away. Little did I know, I had purchased a bottle of 1001. Always double check before purchasing guys 😭. Anyways, I’m not even mad. This is a very pleasant fragrance to me and I’ve never heard anyone talk about it. From my first wearing, I’m getting a candied marzipan vibe with some nice cinnamon. There’s almost a comparison to Naxos to me, although I think I like this a bit better than Naxos. The performance seems weak, but I’ll wear it a couple times and then report back. Completely wrong purchase, and I’m okay with it. Initial inpresssions earn a 9.3/10. It’s smooth, it’s gourmand but not in a sickeningly sweet way, it’s high quality and it’s my first experience with Vertus. I still am hunting for the best price on vanilla oud because that’s what I’ve been really curious about, but I’m very happy with my accidental purchase.

I’ve worn this 7+ times since my accidental purchase. Its so beautiful, almost a fruit punch ambery-floral vibe. Gourmand-ish, slight nutty and warm amber feel. Since my purchase of this, I also bought vanilla oud and sole patchouli, and while those are more popular, better rated, and better received by the public, 1001 is still the better perfume to me. It does lean a bit feminine because of that candied floral and fruit touch, but this isn’t a “girly” perfume by any means. It’s so smooth, so well blended, so long lasting and it projects well, but extremely smoothly. I’m glad that I bought this by accident, because due to the notes and reviews. I wouldn’t have even sampled this, but now it’s top 20 in my collection 9.5/10

This is a very complex fragrance. It doesn’t smell anything like designer fragrances and If you put this on, people will definitely ask you about your perfume (if they like it haha). It’s cinnamon, amber, rose and saffron mixed all together. It definitely gives Arabic vibes but not overwhelmingly.

I’ve reviewed this like 3 times, but it’s really good and really underrated. Worth a sample because nobody talks about it. I would describe it as a fruit punch/amber combo with some nice flowers

Cherried amber and lime; smells like fruity bubblegum on paper. On skin, the cardamom, cinnamon and woods come out. Weird dynamics. Almost a 😑 but smells great on paper. Muddled nuance, if any.

Another decant from a Vertus discovery set. Similar to XXIV Carat Gold by the same perfumer, but more feminine with prominent floral notes.

Very disappointed, such a nice perfume, extremely expensive but performance no longer than 4 hours on the skin ,maybe 5 on the clothes.For that price it should be eternal.Shame .....

Smells weird. Doesn't last long. Doesn't project. It's powdery in a feminine way. It's expensive. 2/10

This is an amazing fragrance. I get Cardamom in the opening but very quickly cardamom vanishes to make way for sweet floral, musky, oakmossy woodsy scent. These are the opening notes. Definitely worth trying it out.
