Haven't smelled Megamare, but was in the search of a marine, salty, sea (but not fresh) scent. Along the way I stumbled across Xerjoff's 40 knots and Nishane's EGE - both really fit the criteria but were missing something which I couldn't put my finger on. I also had the honor of smelling Aqua Sapphire by Boadicea but it was never on the menu as that scent starts at around 800Euro where I live, yet it also fit the criteria. Luckily the shop assistant was kind enough to hear my yap about searching for a specific marine/salty scent that is almost stripped off any freshness and she immediately pointed me to Chaos. Hit the spot just right. It starts off tame as if you are just standing at a seashore - not intimidating, sort of soothing white flowers with a hint of salt. As you progressively go deeper in the sea (figuratively), the scent develops into more seaweed-y fragrance until you've reached full depth where it is almost intimidating, probably due to the oakmoss. I can't stress how exciting this scent is, definitely NOT a people pleaser, definitely DO NOT blind buy, I would even advise smelling it across different periods to see whether you are still on board with it. Get a sample.

Starting to think I found a new favorite house. After trying XXIV Carat Gold by the same perfumer and being very impressed, I grabbed an 8 piece sample pack of decanters online. This was the first I tried out and I am very excited to say I am impressed again. This might event be my new favorite "blue"/summer day scent. Tons of cool stuff happening here, big fresh opener with a unique dry down, something like wicker. I get more grapefruit than lemon, with just a little bit of cigarette smoke? I love this stuff and plan to grab a bottle of I find one inexpensive for this summer.

Yes, indeed this one resonates somewhere close to Megamare. But the lack of musk makes it a more wearable one. For me, it's like DG light blue intense mixed with Clinique happy. It's like an alfalfa field on the beachside. It's green and it's aquatic, it's really a chaos. The sillage is enormous and it's a 24+ scent.

I believe it can be challenging for average consumers, but i wont recommend keep sniffing it up close your arms, because it leaves nice scent trial behind you and it gets you noticed. Performance and projection are no joke.

Absolute BEAST of a fresh fragrance!! This is the perfume for people who are tired of weak summer juices. Crazy projection for 4-5 hours...

Totally dislike Megamare but this one is really special.. Wouldn't buy a full bottle for myself considering the price.

This is the Megamare aristocratic uncle. Incredible performance and sillage.

Bought this today and i sprayed once to see how it smell.. i like it alot.. for me it smells like Megamare mixed with Aqva Atlantiqve / Light Blue Intense..

I haven’t smelled megamare but agree this is a miss in an otherwise impressive lineup of fragrances from Vertus. The opening is surprisingly muted and smooth for a fresh aquatic scent but quickly devolves into sweet salted lemon scented cleaning products, the salt taking it even further to the detergent category. Someone was commenting that this smelled like nishane ege and hacivat and I just can’t see how. Those are both better fragrances and are worlds away with only a generic sense of freshness as a common element. They also smell different from each other in addition to Chaos.

well i blind bought it. i got it for 107$ (bought from someone , so it wasnt the most expensive blind buy. the projection and longevity are crazy. but the smell is meh, for me the smell is like deep wood with sea vibe. for me the dry down is 1:1 like the dry down of thomas kosmala no 4. just ambroxan. please dont blind buy it like i did (especially if its 150$+).

Beast mode aquatic marine fragrance which is similar in profile with Bodicea Aqua Sapphire and much lighter and a bit sweeter than Megamare. While similar, I wouldn’t put it in the same set as Megamare, Atlas and Megara...the latter being stronger and with more substance. This one maybe a bit queezy to the wearer. Not a safe blind buy. Has a certain accord that irritated me specially in the opening. dry down was a little bit better but I did not feel it offers anything new. Not the best marine/aquatic scent to try. Performance is above average, longevity 6-8 hours with moderate projection & continues to be a skin scent for another 12-14 hours.

This is a joint review of Megamare, Chaos and Atlas, which I reviewed over three consecutive days. I decided to review them together because they are all supposed to be similar aquatics with very good performance. I also compared them directly. On the third day, while wearing Atlas, I did a refresh spray of Atlas in the afternoon and then sprayed Megamare and Chaos on opposite arms. Megamare struck me as a very unique marine/aquatic. It's round, full and dark but not really heavy. Received a definite impression of the ocean - strong musky marine accords - like what being far out on the ocean or deep under the water might smell like. As it evolves, a woody accord emerges which blends very nicely with the musky marine scent. Also want to stress its uniqueness - never smelled anything quite like it. Where Megamare was round and dark, Chaos comes across as sharper, bright and fresher. Initial citrus seemed to dominate with the marine accord underneath. As it dried down, the citrus retreated a bit and the marine/oceanic scent dominated. Chaos is very different from Megamare. When I tested D&G Light Blue Eau Intense for men, some prior reviews complained about an eggy scent, something I did not detect with Light Blue. With Chaos, however, I did detect a rather strong eggy scent - not rotten eggs or sulfur - but the smell of cooked eggs. It didn't appear right away, but after about 30 minutes and hung around for the life of the scent. Because of this, Chaos is a no go for me. Atlas is supposed to be a dupe of Megamare. While it is a nice marine/aquatic fragrance, Atlas seemed to be about a 60% match (maybe less) to Megamare. When it dried down, it came across as having a very noticeable floral accord that Megamare does not have. I don't know if it's the iris note (didn't smell specifically like iris to me) or some other unrevealed floral notes. Regarding projection and longevity, Megamare and Chaos are both nuclear fragrances with Megamare having an edge over Chaos. While Atlas is strong, I wouldn't describe its performance as nuclear and it wasn't anywhere near the performance of Megamare. All three fragrances are very masculine. My overall preference is for Megamare and I have added it to my shopping list. If you test Megamare and it comes across as too heavy or dark, you may want to test Chaos. You might not detect an eggy smell as I did and its performance is almost at the same level as Megamare. While I don't have any problems with dupes and clones and like to save money as much as the next guy, when it comes to Atlas and Megamare, Megamare is clearly the superior fragrance to my nose.

This stuff is awful. It smells like a really bad and cloying version of Cool Water, like they accidentally poured decaying floral fragrance into it. In the dry down, it does smoothen out, but it still smells like the lesser version of Once Explosea (which, to me, is like a Cool Water dupe).

Mmm, detergent lemon and wet patchouli. Floral, woody undertone. I think I’m gonna puke. 🤢 Has the same zest as Megamare but is way less balanced. Gnarly. 👎

I couldn't even imagine something like this exists, costs this much and is still apreciated. It smells so bad that I am sure I could get a panic attack from it. For me, this is by far, the worst perfume I have ever smelled. "Eggy" doesn't sound nice, but this is much worse. It think it smells like death, and for anyone who thinks this could be in a good way, it's not. It also ruined all the other marine perfumes I know, because now I feel like every one of them has that irritating note, even though in a much much lower intensity, but still it's there. One of my latest regrets is smelling this.

9ne of Vertus' most popular frags. And I can see why, although it's definately not my cup of tea. Let me elaborate. This thing starts with a blast of lemon and some flowers maybe. I can' t detect sea water here. What I do percieve is a HEAVY BLAST of ambroxan. And by that I mean an assault on the nostrils. Now, personally ambroxan is a note which I can't stand as it smell like chemicals on my skin, it's ridiculously strong and tends to overpower everything. Hence that's what I get here- ambroxan,ambroxan and you guessed it- more ambroxan. The end result is a synthetic bomb which stings my nostrils.... Longevity- well, superb. It latches onto one's skin and projects and projects. Easily 10 hrs on skin and a week maybe? on clothing. One of the strongest frags which I 've tested. For whim it is? A young person who want's to garner attention as this screams and leaves a yrail behind the wearer. For the Sauvage bros who venture into niche territory and want something beastly. Unisex, but leaning masculine. Seasons- warm westhwr mostly, but has the oomph to push through warm, cold, scorching hot weather. You name- it will perform. Occasions- mostly casual,clubbing. Scenarious when wants to get attention. Dates, bussiness meetings- naah, not really. In conclusion- I have a borderline hate for it. Super screechy, sinthetic, almost unusable for me. Ambroxan, some citruses,maybe seawater, but mostly ambroxan. Longevity is superb though. Rather masculine, but a woman could pull it off. Fits the warmer weather bettter,but it can be used all year. Clubbing, casual wear. The asking price for this is absolutely ridisulous... The sheer fucking temerity. The worst frag from Vertus. Wiuld never pay retail nor discounted price for ot. A dud. 3/10 because of the bottle

Fresh, sharp lemon, salty dry sea notes and ambergris opening with creamy white flowers in the mid that aren’t too feminine. The dry down consists of an herbal green earthy patchouli and oak moss with the sea notes and lemon still hanging around. Good performance for this type of fragrance. Not worth the retail or even fragrancenet price but $150 for 100ml seems fair for this fragrance. Overall the only fragrances I could compare this too was maybe slightly - Nishane “Ege” in the opening and a stronger Aqua Di Gio in the dry down. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I got 🤷🏻♂️ For This type of fragrance I’ll say 8/10 - the price really hurts this one though. Try before you buy.

This is a beast mode oceanic/aquatic fragrance! It's not sweet or pretty like your typical "beachy fragrances"! This will be an assault to your olfactory sense! It is very fresh! It's slightly earthy and woody but the notes of the marine accord is extremely strong and pungent in this fragrance! Think of living at the bottom of the ocean floor amongst marine plants and permeated by sea urchins and other oceanic creatures! If you can discount that, then you should know that you will have to scrub yourself very thoroughly in order to get rid of Chaos! With that said I love it and I'm keeping it!

A huge disappointment. I bought this by mistake instead of the masterpiece Sole Patchouli. While Sole Patchouli is classy and clean, Chaos is just unpleasant. The dry down is far too marine and smells exactly like fishy, stagnant seawater. Definitely not for someone looking for a sophisticated or clean fragrance.

Such a beast fragrance( last for days and projects so loud), but it’s one of the most complicated fragrances that I’ve tried. Definitely doesn’t worth 450$, but if you like a heavy citrusy fishy( yes fishy) fragrances then go for it.. test it before buying a full bottle please........

This is a beast of a fragrance projection and longevity is insane. Leaves and incredible trail.. So try before you buy cause believe me people will smell it from a distance and you have to make sure you love it so you can wear it with confidence.

Idk if im tripping but the fragrance that comes to my mind right away after smelling this one is roja oceania however I smell that fragrance once and on paper only so idk if im mostaking it here will have to go to neiman and try again

To name it Chaos is perfectly showing what kind of perfume we are talking about , it performes like a wild horse and makes people searching the sillage

Hard to decribe, very eggy at dry-down. Dont blind buy guys, this is beast if you dont like it it's hard to get rid off even after proper shower.

Sensitive noses, don't buy this. But if you must, at least avoid it in summer, the sea notes turn into a sharp, fishy sea stench in the heat!

A lot of eggy vibe if your sensitive to that kind of thing in aquatics. Probably from the Calone. Not for me

A shameless copy of Megamare. But Megamare is the original and it is much better this

1 spray and you good for 3 days. 10ml will probably serve you for a lifetime.
