Rose Morocco

Opened up rather nice with apple and saffron with cardamom in tow. The following woody oud was just too mediocre to catch my attention so my mind just wandered off somewhere. By the time the scent caught my attention again was when it turned into creamy rose scent that came with a musk that reacted with my skin scent to turned it all so sexy. So this suddenly upped from a mediocre okay to a love.

love at first spray! I like the way rose notes are handled. Very suitable on spring and works well on men and women. RM is more a realistic rose (petal + sterm+ leafs) twisted with clean wood, the rose shining through persistently to the base. it is very interesting and unique.

Another lame rose/oud combination. If only they’d used more concentrated apple, instead of saffron. The “cashmere wood” accord helps set this fragrance apart from the myriad of others with a similar profile, but not in a good way. Smells stale and is overly synthetic, like the rest.

I have been studying rose oud perfumes and was delighted to discover a new niche perfumery in my neighbourhood that stocked some beauties. They had Vertus and also Xerjoff and Widian so I was in heaven. I compared RM to a few perfumes, including Widian Rose Arabic Taifa. RM is a fantastic and genuine deep rose mixed with the fragrances of a spice market- warm and complex and smooth and clean oud, the rose shining through persistently to the base. The perfume evolves from being a warm rose-oud to being more woody and it is very interesting and unique. The RAT on the other hand is a sweeter rose, more like Turkish delight with a strong saffron note that persists for ages. The dry down is a powdery rose, whereas the RM is more unisex and woody, with a delicate Vetiver undertone which is very understated- great for me because I usually hate Vetiver but here it adds interest and depth. I also compared RM to Rose Prive of the same house. The rose in RP is stunning and very feminine, strong but also smooth and gentle (is that possible?) and not overly sweet. However the fragrance does not evolve much. Great if you are looking for a pure rose soliflor but a bit boring for what I was interested in. The quality of RM and this house in general is very good. Sillage moderate, longevity 10 hours +. If you can find Vertus check them out! Outstanding!

Nice. Rose is very dominant. Other notes are all mixed up and support Rose. It has that Arabian Rose vibe.
