21:50 Rêverie

Gorgeous and complex woody vanilla that somehow manages to be different from counterparts like Lune Feline, By the Fireplace and Black Tie, though I would say its in that ballpark. I find 21:50 Reverie to have a dry woodiness rather than smokiness to it, and where Lune Feline is warmed with cardamom and cinnamon, this one is warmed by a cracked creme brulee and plum compote. In that way it's a bit softer and cosier. However, all through the vanilla dry-down I can discern that enduring hot, dry wood, keeping it interesting and more evocative than most vanillas. I don't know what's happening with the reviews of this - it seems like some people have taken against it before perhaps they have had a chance to sample it. Also, whilst I don't know many of the alleged 'smellalikes', either people or Ai seem to be selecting perfumes that either have the word "posh" or "spice" in, which isn't that helpful in working out how this fragrance smells. For me, it's most like Black Tie, because of a kind of dry boxiness to the vanilla that I find incredibly moreish. Well, I've worked my way through a couple of samples and come to the conclusion it's addictive! I actually like all of Victoria Beckham's line, with Portofino being a close second, for very different reasons. A brilliant new release, made expertly by Jérôme Epinette, and I would say not typical of some of his other work. Whereas you often can spot threads of similarity across his offerings, I've not encountered this DNA before, though I hope he explores it more. Completely delicious to my nose!

I got a free discovery set after ordering some makeup off of VB's website. The samples came in a little pouch, in the form of peel off cards. So just enough product to smell, not enough to spray/test on the skin. Therefore I can only comment on the smell, not longevity/performance of the perfume. 21:50 Reverie is a lovely, lovely smell. It's unlike anything I've ever smelled before (and I've smelled hundreds of perfumes). I am usually not a fan of tobacco notes but here it's blended beautifully. I rarely qualify perfumes as sexy, however this is the vibe I'm getting from this one. It's so deep, dark, addictive. I can't stop myself from sniffing the card. If I didn't know the notes I would describe this scent as a smoky honeyed vanilla. I've just ordered some more makeup and was pleased to see a complimentary 2ml sample was added to my order. I can't wait to test this perfume on my skin and see how to performs. Definitely one I'm considering buying (not that I need any more perfume!). Will post an update in a few days, once I've received my order.

21:50 Rêverie This perfume is a warm, sophisticated, and truly sensual scent. However, I do find the initial impression a bit challenging. Currently, I'm testing it with a 10 ml sample, so I'll continue wearing it to fully evaluate it. Initially, it reminds me of grilled corn over an open fire. Thankfully, on my skin, it doesn't develop into the unpleasant notes some reviewers describe. But, after about twenty minutes, something wonderful emerges. There's a noticeable orris accord that creates a creamy, powdery vanilla. It's similar to Black Tie, but with a unique twist. The dry down is where this fragrance truly excels, transforming into a beautiful, complex woody vanilla with a mesmerizing, captivating trail. If you appreciate scents that blend the qualities of By the Fireplace and Black Tie, this one is definitely worth exploring.

Lovely, more masculine leaning vainilla, perfect autumn perfume. Out of all the scents from Posh and Jérôme Epinette, '21:50 Rêverie' is the least complex or intriguing, the least stand out or different. It's a scent that's been done a few times, nothing groundbreaking: a non-cloying, mature vanilla with woody touches and Asian vibes. Maybe that's why it's so easy to wear. It's really lovely, super wearable and dead chilled. The kind of vanilla someone who knows their stuff would wear. It reminds me a fair bit of a mix between By the Fireplace by Maison Martin Margiela, Vainilla Skin by Phur and Spicebomb Infrared by Viktor & Rolf, but with its own vibe, very cold weather, proper wintery feels.

I thought I was done with vanilla until I found this incredible scent. Opens with a heavy note of tobacco leaf but fortunately this fades quickly and adds a nice rich, smoky touch to the vanilla as it dries down. The fragrance doesn’t change much once it dries down and smells to me like a nicely balanced mix of smoky, earthy vanilla with fruitiness from plum. Do not get confused though - this is mainly a vanilla scent, there is not much dark about it. The vanilla is sweet but not cloying, I would suggest this is a more mature vanilla for vanilla lovers. I struggle with a lot of the popular vanilla blends because I am sensitive to tobacco & leather, but this just hits the sweet spot.
