Amber Romance

this is one of my all time favourites ..i have been using it for more than 13 years ..mainly the body spray version.. which i find so comforting.. so sensuale.. so real ..velvety ..dreamy..its a perfect base for so many other perfumes ..try layering it with most of your oriental favourites ..i love it with obsession ck.. cooo chanel.. and opium ysl etc.. amber romance is a skin scent for me..a signature scent.. its like a second skin.. it envelops you into a wonderful..cozy.. mellow.. feminine.. cocoon..its not that overwhelmingly sweet.. or ambery.. or vanillic..its just a perfect composition ..of all those wonderful.. balmy.. powdery ..milky..lightly cherried.. ambery ..sandal woody..cherished accords.. with chamomile which is known for its relaxing qualities.. and cherry which i find so light.. that you can hardly smell ..but when all those notes are combined ..you simply can't go wrong.. cant go mad.. its just so serene.. so divine.... soooooooooooo relaxing ...i love using it after showers ..its not cloying..its fresh yet sensuale.. its sultry yet light.. its invigorating yet relaxing ..its a dream come true to me ..i feel home when i am in its mysterious.. glorious.. veil of smokiness.. and utter hmmmmmmmmm i can't pinpoint it..but maybe utter coziness..sensualness..and even holiness..there is something holy about this scent.. maybe its the ancient secrete amber it possesses.. and the serenity.. and utter sheerness.. and sublime beauty.. ..i wish i can soak and bathe in this scent.. and i will still never be overwhelmed.. it isn't overpowering ..it settles down so beautifully.. its not a changing perfume.. its a true scent.. true to its character.. and nature..it could easily be a signature scent if it compliments your chemistry.. nature..confident..compassionate..and giving... what you smell is what you get ..all the way.. it just whispers softer.. and wishes you sweet dreams.. and envelops you in a protective aura.. of serenity.. holiness.. and spirituality.. and light.. that keeps you protected.. until the morning ....i love it.. and can't imagine my life without it..i hope it doesn't get discounted like all the good things in life..

Here in Brazil we're on our first cold front of the year (even being weeks into autumn already). The thermometers dropped, so some fragrances are back in the game. Amber Romance is one of them. Although is a delicious scent to wear in warmer nights, when is TOO HOT is basically impossible to wear, cause it turns into a suffocating sweet bomb. (let's keep in mind that 'too hot' is a subjective feeling, and that i live in a tropical, normally warm country). Amber romance is, indeed, sweet. But not candy sweet or flowery sweet or fruity sweet. Is actually very dual in my opinion, and i'm gonna explain why: Is warm, and sweet. the amber is not resinous as in other high end fragrances. Is a simple, warm vanilla-amber. The vanilla is not gourmet (even being milky, is not like a cake). But mixed with this beautifully simple amber-vanilla, there is a coat of make up powder. Imagine is a cold night, and the rain is falling outside the window. You're on your bedroom, with you fan turned on and rotating (cause you like the feeling of the air moving around). You're also inside a cozy bundle of covers. Fluffy covers. Is warm, but not hot. You also feel the cold air in your face. The mixed feelings of the breezy air on your face and the warm body gives you that comfortable feeling of "home". You open a book, or just play games on your cellphone. You're alone and starting to fall asleep very slowly. That's how comfortable it is. Is sexy, but simple. Clean, without the musky soapy feeling. Warm but never resinous. Sweet but not tooth-aching. Unfortunately, nor the body spray or the ETD lasts on my skin, although the body butter helps a lot.

This fragrance is very nostalgic for me because my mother wore it religiously for the first 13 years of my life. It’s the first semi-mature fragrance that I ever wore, my mom swears that I stole a bottle or two from her in middle school, although I only recall ever sneaking in her bathroom to steal spritzes before school. I vividly remember sitting down beside a girl in 7th grade who perked up, sniffed the air around me and exclaimed that I smelled REALLY good. She was so overly enthusiastic with the compliment that she seemed embarrassed afterwards. It’s timeless in my opinion. A true skin scent; soft, sweet musk consisting of warm and alluring pure amber (I was totally shocked by some of the notes listed on here. Like... cherry? Nowhere to be found). I recently purchased a bottle on Mercari because I noticed the EDT is getting harder and harder to find and it’s something I just have to have in my collection. When I think of this fragrance I don’t remember all the compliments I got in middle school so much, rather, I recall being a toddler and lying my head on my mother’s chest instead. Comfort in a bottle. I think gourmand lovers will like this, and for them it would be a safe blind buy, because although I wouldn’t describe it as gourmand it is certainly gourmand adjacent.

I've not smelled anything else that I'd say is similar to the OG Amber Romance. This is warm, sweet, soft & delicious comfort in a bottle! Seductive & not overly sweet like most gourmands of today. The cherry note in this is done perfectly..black sweet cherry adds such depth with natural fruity sweetness...not at all candy like. I see a slender curvy, library assistant sitting at the info desk wearing slightly cat-eye, black rimmed glasses in a peachy-nude v-neck cashmere sweater with her dark, auburn locks wound up on her head, held in place with old school chopsticks. Behind her is a wall of windows with fall trees lining the view, deeply steeped with their leaves in end of fall colors. The first snow of the season is gently falling, carpeting the ground & cloaking the smaller branches. She's sipping on a huge hot mug of steaming chai tea latte. She is a visually ageless beauty...hard to pin down. Is she an older college student? Or a childless, middle age beauty who will forever look younger than her real age. She speaks in sweet honeyed whispers. I love the lady scent and want her back in her original state in present day!!!

I've been using the body mist on a daily basis post-shower and am thoroughly addicted. It's almost gone and I will have to replenish. It's a beautiful vanilla-cream and amber scent with just a slight hint of soft fruit. I did not immediately think cherry as that fruit, maybe apricot? Well, no matter. It smells clean, soothing, fluffy, cozy and delicious all at once. I used to own Cashmere Glow from BBW, and this is a million times better! Cashmere Glow is too sweet and fruity for my tastes, I liked it at first but got sickened of it after just a few wears. It started to smell cheap to me because of the overwhelming fruity top notes. But Amber Romance is fresher, more luminous, sweet without being sickening, and it's also creamier and fluffier. It's also not too warm. Great for all year round! And the best apart is (aside from it smelling delicious), it lasts all day, with a lovely fuzzy sillage that lasts atleast a couple hours...which for a body spray, is fantastic. It's also versatile enough to layer under any vanilla or amber based scent. This could just be my favorite VS body spray ever.

This review is NOT for the EDT but for the Amber Romance 'Fragrance Mist' and 'Hydrating Body Lotion' instead. I got these gifted in a VS Gift Pack consisting of 3 fragrance mists and 3 lotions. The other 2 were typical generic, fruity-floral things. Amber Romance was the only one that stood out for me and I find it very wearable. The body lotion is really nice, creamy, comfortable amber-vanilla. The fragrance mist is a little sweeter. I imagine if you find the EDT too sweet, try the body products instead! I like to layer the body lotion with the fragrance mist. It's just a touch of comforting Amber scent and vanilla. Great on days you don't feel like wearing a full-on perfume, or on really hot days when an EDT is just too much. I also like to spritz the mist on before bed because I find it so comforting. Also nice as a hair mist - the scent lasting all day in freshly washed hair :) Amber will always be close to my heart, as Amber Stones (resin) are very popular worn as jewellery in my home country, which I miss dearly. Warm and comforting, just like the recreated scent :)

Victoria's Secret Amber Romance is the first VS scent I bought many years ago. I smelled it on my cousin and fell in love with it. It's warm, sexy, creamy, sophisticated and just pleasant. I, too, didn't know that I was such a huge fan of amber, so it's no surprise that this mist was a win for me. The thing I love about VS Amber Romance mist is that it can pass for an actual designer EDT or EDP. Back then, it opened with a creamy, smooth, (and yes) strong opening that settled into a clean, warm sexy scent. The reformulated mists are the reason I stopped buying VS (and another brand name) mists. They have far too much alcohol which cheapens their smell and destroys their performance, leaving them lasting for 2-3 hours, as opposed to the former 5-8 hours. Regardless, Amber Romance has always been a repeat purchase for me. Not sure I would repurchase it given the cheaper formula, but I can confirm that this is a safe blind buy, particularly for those who love amber.

My favorite body spray and the only one I love from VS. Sweet, warm but fresh at the same time, smells more expensive that their other offerings to me. The squared shoulder bottle lasts and lasts. A staple in my collection, for pre-bedtime and layering. Layers very well under any amber and it’s great under Coco Mademoiselle. Not over-the-top-sweet ambery vanilla with noticeable cherry and cucumber, which gives it a hint of shampoo-freshness. Really delicious. There is milk, but it gives the effect of a medium sweet crème brulee rather than actual milk, thank god. I have the shouldered bottle, not the cylindrical one, the newer cylindrical one is still ok but definitely weaker. Try to get the shouldered one if you can and thank me later ;) I compared it side-to-side with Revlon Fire-and-Ice, and they are similar. The Revlon has a more retro-like feel, is less sexy and tad more floral, also gone in an hour. Between the two, I prefer Amber Romance by miles.

Creme Anglaise and powdered sugar with a faint fruity tang. This is so soft and fuzzy and comforting, its like olfactory cashmere PJs. It makes me think of a woman who is sexy, but in a very natural, accessible way. I very much prefer the EDT to the body splash because besides lasting longer, it’s creamier and softer. I didn’t expect to find myself wearing it to the office so often, but catching a soft whiff of this once in awhile is very calming on stressful days, and it’s got just enough of a dessert-like feel to keep me happy without being obnoxious for anyone else. Be warned if you don’t like powdery musk; you might not like this. Pity! I personally find it very well done because it manages to balance out the sweet notes without detracting from the creaminess and warmth, and stops everything from becoming just another plate of sticky melted mush.

For an amber fragrance I really like this one, always have. It reminds me of my sister since she used to wear it in high school (along with Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber and Black Raspberry Vanilla). I think this one just barely outranks Sensual Amber for me because the "amber" isn't quite as strong. There is something cozy and soft about Amber Romance that I really like, and while it is a little bit sweet it isn't overwhelmingly so. I wouldn't have been able to tell that there is cherry in the fragrance without the notes listed, but now that I know that it really makes sense. There is definitely a warm, ripe, slightly fruity note veering Amber Romance away from heavy sugar overload but still staying true to the rich warmth of the creme Anglaise and amber. I think this is a wonderful scent, really delicious. Great for cooler weather!

my review is based off of my amber romance EDT bottle from 2006 or so as pictured above (yes i still have it because i purchased 6 bottles and YES they still smell the exact same). This is such a warm and cozy Amber, It was the scent that made me fall in love with Amber and every time i wear or have worn it, people always ask what i’m wearing. It’s definitely for fall or winter because it is STRONG, you only need 2-6 sprays. On skin i get about 10+hrs and on clothing the scent stays until i do my laundry. i really wish VS would bring back the EDT bottles and not watered down like most of their fragrances are now. we need the original forumula with its great longevity and sillage cause right now VS is putting out a bunch of fragrances that smell like 99% alcohol and they don’t last.. it’s why i do not buy their body mists or “perfumes”.

My absolute love at this time in my life.. For years I’d seen it in vs stores and something in me never gave it a chance, even resented it. For years. It wasn’t until 2020, that they re released the long discontinued body washes. I picked up amber romance after not being too hooked on the small handful that were available from the now “classics” line. I was and still am going through a lot of changes and growth in my life and I found the comfort and hope I needed in the scent amber romance. I then fell hard for it and own as many bottles as I could get my hands on. It may sound crazy, for a fragrance to inspire you as much as this did me, and one that I never cared about either. But here we are, all I can say is: that’s it’s become apart of me. At least for this time in my life.

I used to mix Amber Romance with Vanilla Lace & that was my signature year-round scent for years & years. I smelled so sexy & it used to drive my ex-hubby absolutely mad for me. I constantly received compliments from random people about how amazing I smelled & it was my own (Victoria’s) secret formula. And then, as usual, they butchered my favorite perfumes and reformulated both the Amber Romance and the Vanilla Lace fragrances back in 2017. My heart shattered into a million pieces when I found out they were being discontinued and I remember driving around to all the malls & buying up the last of every single bottle I could find. I ended up with a stock pile that lasted about two years. But I shed a few tears the day I sprayed the last spritz of my lovely perfumes.

Creamy Amber. It's warm and sexy, in a cozy way. It's perfect for cold weather days, gives a comfortable sensation, like you're being hugged and you just want to be there. I smell the vanilla and the milk mixed together (probably the Creme Anglaise thing) with this perfect hint of Amber and Sandalwood, to warm the fragrance. It doesn't evolve. What you feel at first is what you'll feel till the very end. And that's a good thing. I love complex scents, but the simplicity in this one is what makes it so sexy and warm. Update: When I pay more attention to the fragrance, i can smell the chamomile/aloe vera freshness (in both splash and lotion, a little less on the EDT). Is very subtle, but is what stops the fragrance from being cloying, in my opinion.

It`s a really pleasant surprise! I love anything ambery and this was a total impulse buy, I`d never go anywhere near VS stuff otherwise..It`s not too long lasting - I`m talking about the 250ml body spray now, that is the one I have - so I have to spray on a few times a day, but hey, that`s what the big bottle is for isn`t it? At first you can smell creamy sweet tones, almost as a `girlie` perfume, but as time passes it all starts to show its lovely amberiness mixed with vanilla which is the last thing you end up smelling before you respray again. It is a perfect addition to your collection if you like vintage 90s style scents, a little ligther and you don`t want to spend more than 10 bucks.:-)

I am reviewing a vintage 1990s formula I bought recently on Meceri. It’s so strong nothing like what is made now! This is so beautiful. I’m so happy to have this. You can still find vintage bottles online they sell if you can find for a good price. Some people charge way to much I don’t buy from them. I also scored a brand new bottle 1.7 ounce unopened bottle of Burberry London classic Edp. Has the Burberry London on bottle. Not made anymore. Got them both for a good price! Don’t bother with the crap they make now search for an older bottle. Its magical! 10/10.

First perfume that I ever loved! I was gifted a Victoria Secret body lotion and body spray set as a preteen with this scent and “Secret Seduction” and I fell in love. If I could’ve had a signature scent at 11-12, this would’ve been it. I was that obsessed. I remember being so sad about the reformulation when I tried the updated scent, and felt that it didn’t compare to the original. And now I have the reformulation and not the original and I can’t tell the difference in my scent memory. Really curious about getting my hands on an old bottle to compare!

A while ago i made a review of this one, and we were on winter. Now we're in the summer (Brazil) and i'm here to write another review. This fragrance surprised me. On winter it embraces you like a warm blanket and feels like a nice cup of hot milk and honey. Wearing it in summertime makes me feel like i'm ready for a night out at the beach. Gives me that warm breezy feeling of hot summer nights. The smells is the same, of course, there is not too many note so it could change that much, but the feeling it gives me is completely different. Love it

This is a great bargain buy. It's been reformulated so grab the old one (in the pic) before you can't. The new version I believe is this light version for mixing your own together or something like that. I don't know why they changed it when it is so popular. As I live quite far from a VS store here in Australia and we have a limited amount anyway, I don't know the whole collection well enough but I find some of them too synthetic such as Pear Glacé. The ones I really like are vanilla lace, amber romance and love spell which has grown on me.

A beautiful soft vanilla that stays close to the skin but can be quite strong if you use more than 4 spritzes. Definitely a long lasting scent. The sugary, custard, vanilla scent is what dominates. There is a hint of amber in the base that I think makes it smell more sophisticated than your typical sweet sugar bomb. The black cherry scent is slightly present . Definitely a luxurious and comforting scent. I apply 2-3 spritzes of the EDP alone, meaning I do not use any other scented lotion or body spray.

This is one of my guilty pleasures. It came with 4 other sweet multicolored spritzers in a pink gift box. Of course I used them all remorslessly even if they weren't my style. It was a gift after all. In amongst the cool aid and candy was this lurid little gem. A simple, dark oriental. All vanillery goodness, fuzzy amber and warm creamy sandalwood sweatness. I dont get a ton of charry but for me that's okay. It's not talcum powdery but more carnation powdery. I love Amber Romance

I love this fragrance. It smells more expensive than it is. Its a lovely black cherry, amber, vanilla, sandalwood. Such a yummy gourmand. This body mist stays on so long. I've even smelled it the next day when waking up. I like it best in cooler weather, however I even wear it in a little heat. It seems to still smell nice and not over powering in warm weather. This is one of my favorites from victoria's secret. Its been around quite a long time. I hope its always available.

I have to say that Amber Romance stands on its own among other Amber scents that I've tried so far. Warm cocoon of seductive amber and cream with cherry on top, beckoning your significant other to have a taste..Nice imagination girl. This just smells right! Long lasting, spray sparingly of course. I'm gonna wear it to office soon. We'll see how people react with it. And of course it's my go to bed scent as well, like Nina. Maybe I should try wearing Nina to office too?

This is the most gorgeous, warm and cozy vanilla/amber combo I've ever had the pleasure to sniff. This and Endless Love are the best smelling body sprays I've ever smelled. I LOVE THIS SCENT!!! I am so happy I have the 250ml body spray and 30ml EDT. It is just so beautiful and I'm honestly surprised it's not an expensive perfume. I'm going to take a shower, put on my jammies, spray a little bit of this heavenly scent and go snuggle up in a blanket w/ my kitties.

I'm gonna agree with another reviewer about it smelling like In Control Curious by Britney Spears. I have In Control and the dry down is almost identical, which is good because I'm almost out of it and it's kinda hard to find. Amber Romance will be a suitable replacement. Rich, warm, seductive and sweet, this is awesome for the cooler months and date nights with your honey. Be prepared for compliments too. Oh, and the lasting power is terrific!

i love the body splash more than the edt,,its amazing after showers.. its like a perfect blend with my skin a match made in heaven ..its a great base for all my other dreamy powdery perfumes. its so mellow and warm and rich it feels like a million years old ,like the amber/ it possess you in unlimeted ways..no mater how much you try to stray you always come back to it as if it is your destiney...so relaxing so serene and pure rating 5 out 5!

I admit it, im 30 and I still wear this like I did when I was 15 and I'm completely unapologetic about it. I've always thought of this scent as powdery, soft, sweet, comforting, and creamy. It's easy to wear because it's a vanilla scent that isn't too sweet, it's perfect! The quality of the product has declined over the years though unfortunately. I find that I have to reapply pretty often to keep the scent with me.

This smells like the feeling you get when you sit by the warm fireplace after spending a bright snowy afternoon outside. It doesn't smell like snow or fire but it has that kind of warmth to it- I can almost feel it in my chest. It's also (obviously) incredibly sweet and synonymous with holiday cheer- it's a fragrance I save solely for November/December despite the fact that it's one of my favorites.

What you see is what you get. This scent doesn't have topnotes or a drydown, it's just a straight up cherry, vanilla, and amber. It's simple and linear, and it doesn't apologise for it. It's fabulous! I have it in both EDT and body spray form. It's a great cuddy, cashmere-sweater and cold night scent. Spray it on after a warm bath and sit by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa ~ perfection!

It’s a gorgeous and fun scent that smells like a combination of sugared peaches, creamy vanilla, and a light drizzle of honey. It’s perfect for when you are going out and want to smell nice but don’t want to wear something too strong or overpowering. It lasts for around a few hours, not too long, but it can definitely be smelled from a distance away.🧡🧡 Rating: 4/5

I absolutely LOVE Amber Romance. And in addition I think that, if love had a scent it would be this. Its so alluring and soft and seductive all at the same time. I hope that it never discontinues. Now summer I still use it, its fantastic. It resembles Michael kors sexy amber in the drydown and also chanel allure. It has little bit of the same DNA yet distant.

Of all of the fine fragrances that I own and have worn, this one has elicited the most comments. I have had people stop me in the super market to ask what fragrance I was wearing. It smells delicious on me for whatever reason. As I choose a fragrance for the day according to my mood, this one fits most of the time when I can't decide what mood I am in!

I have this both in the EDT & body mist... I've loved this scent for so many yrs!! A spray or 2 is all I need since its lasts on me all day and night,its definitely a warm very amber, musky with tiny,tiny faint hint of vanilla scent. I do intend to keep repurchasing this! *The bodymist is just a little lighter than the EDT,very nice for warmer months.

This is more of a cool or cold weather scent to me. It definitely evokes coziness. It isn't the most interesting fragrance like another reviewer said, but I think it is a really great value if you get it discounted. This would probably be good as a layering fragrance if you need more oomph, but it is beautiful, cozy/warm, sweetish, and simple.

I love it. It's my signature body mist, I've been using this one for years. The amber is notorious here, also the vanilla. I bought Fire and Ice based on some reviews, they said these two smell very similar. Not at all, just when you spray it, but then Fire and Ice becomes dense and mature, unlike Amber Romance which remains sweet and soft.

This fragrance encapsulates "sunset beaches". To me, this smells like almonds and milk mixed with sandalwood and honey. It also feels to me to be the strongest of the mists Victoria's Secret has. It is seductive, sexy, not a young girl scent. I recommend it for dating or when you want to meet someone when you go out at night.

sweet, alluring, magnetic, sexy, feminine but subtle - that's what I've heard from pals at work :) It makes guys 25+ turn around and follow you. And I am telling you that out of experience. Body mist that stays the whole day. On the clothes and hairs over 24 hours. I love it, I'll always buy it.

My mam gave this to me when I was 19 and I loved it. Can't buy it anymore it seems but I still remember the scent vividly and it brings back fond memories. Sweet, not sickly but feminine and indulgent. I didn't need too much to smell great! Really wish I could get my hands on this again.

My freshman year of highschool, this was my signature scent. It smells absoultely beautiful with the nice deep amber and it is nice and lightly sweet. I've gotten many compliments and in my opinion, it's unique and sexy. I don't think any girl could go wrong with this scent.

just smelled the new reformulated version today and my heart broke after realizing it didnt quite smell the same anymore 3 i think the old has a more syrupy smell, the cherry notes were definitely stronger in the old formula, im hoping that they bring it back someday lol

Tested this the other day in the new Victoria's secret that's opened in Birmingham and I've gotta say I fell in love with it. its such a warm amber milky scent that I can see myself wearing on cold days in. for a body mist its quite strong and lasted 3 hours. 9/10

This is one of my favorite fragrances by Victoria's Secret. I have the body spray, not the actual perfume. At first, vanilla is the most dominant note to me, then the cherry arrives and it becomes very similar to Revlon's Fire & Ice but nicer. Love, love, love!

wore this in middle school and repurchased today and it still holds up. amber note is more prominent but the vanilla definitely holds up. the longevity is terribleeeee but you get what you pay for. i'll happily respray this on myself every 2 hours

Very sweet, warm, feminine and beautiful! This perfume is perfect during the fall when the cold climate starts to settle in. I also love the fact that it isn't expensive! it's very affordable, just like the scented body lotion that goes with it.

this is the scent of going from a girl to a woman. rebellious, not too mature, but not too juvenile. very warm and carefree. not too serious, but nothing to laugh at. really good for those who want a budget friendly scent to be remembered by.

Out of the whole fantasies line Amber Romance is one of my favorites. It’s pretty much the perfect amber fragrance. It reminds me a lot of sensual amber by BBW. I have tried fire and ice and I don’t personally find them that similar.

Cherry, amber, and vanilla. She's a powerhouse so be careful. A few sprays will do you. Warm and delicious. I feel edible wearing it. Love it. It is very sweet so if you're not into sweet this one likely won't appeal to you.

I think this is cozy and lovely. My daughter asked my why my perfume smelled like soap. I don't usually like strongly perfumed soap, but I might have to make an exception if I can find out which brand she was referring to.

someone gave me this last week and i can not tell you how much i love it ! at first i though it smelled like a sauna room but after awhile it was so addicting ! i love this and will buy one when i run out .

My new signature fragrance. :) I love it. It lasts long on me. And the sillage is heavy. I love the vanilla and creme anglaise notes. My friend said I smell yummy. Lol. Hahaha. I will repurchase this one.
