Bare Nectar

I have spent a few days wearing this, and I really was surprised how much I like this. The bare lineup has been pretty strong for VS and has a nice range. This is the most "sweet" of them all, but I will also say this one seems to have the lowest longevity. Rose/Magnolia/Sueded have pretty good longevity. Sueded and Magnolia have the best longevity. Rose and the original have lower but are still a bit better than Nectar. The original I used to really like, but I decluttered it. The sandalwood turned sour on me, and I just never loved it enough. Rose, I have it in the smaller bottle, and once it's gone, I won't re-purchase - mainly because it's so sharp. But Magnolia and Sueded have been my 2 big bottle staples, & now I have the big bottle of Nectar and really love it. The opening is SO good. Sweet, strong, and honey smooth. I like the peachy, honey vibe. Then the smooth, clean agave and sandalwood are the remaining dry down, and it's really just nice. It's a bit sharp but not overwhelming like bare rose can be. This just doesn't last beyond 4 hours on my skin or really clothes. It does the job for a light, quick smell, but to hold up through the day - no, it needs re-applied. Not a bad thing for the price point and the fact that you can always layer a body oil, lotion, spray, etc. with it, as this has an expansive body care line. I just think on its own it's not the most BOLD. I still enjoy it, it's unique enough, and I'd say it lands at a solid 8/10. Sueded Vanilla is my fave, then Magnolia typically - but IDK I feel I would reach for Nectar before Magnolia even. They are definitely my top 3! Get your nose on this one if you can..it's worth it!

Scent Review: VS Bare Nectar This just launched so I bought a travel spray. The only other Bare scent I like is Bare Rose. The sandalwood in both Bare and Bare Sueded Vanilla doen't work well with me so I was hesitant on ordering this one. However, after trying I ordered the full size, cream and body mist! To me, it is a grown up peach. Not bright and juicy but more warm. I don't pick up the sandalwood note, on me, at all! This is a good thing for not just me but those who would have to experience it as well! 😂 The honeyed agave gives it a bit of a spicy note which I like. To me it reads more of a cooler weather fragrance.

I get why people are saying this has a similar dna to Valaya, but if I smelled this on someone in passing, I definitely would not mistake this for Valaya. The peach note is very sweet, warm, and honeyed and there is a bit of a synthetic element to the composition. I don’t like this as much as Sueded Vanilla, Magnolia, or the original but I think I definitely like it more than Bare Rose—which I don’t necessarily dislike, it's just my least favorite in this line. I agree that this would make a nice autumn scent as it’s a bit too heavy and sweet for hot weather for my personal tastes. I just sprayed this so I’ll probably come back and edit this later in the day once it’s dried down for my final thoughts. All in all I think it’s a nice fragrance but would have been fine if I didn’t purchase it. We’ll see how it feel after a full day’s wear. The nose behind this is Stephen Nilsen if anyone is curious. I don’t know why Fragrantica has that info missing on some fragrances’ profile pages, but that’s who the nose is. Edit: Ok, it’s 4 hours later and this is indeed Valaya on the dry down. It opens warm, sweet, and honeyed with only a hint of Valaya, but it’s all Valaya on the dry down. Idk how I feel about this since I own Valaya, Valaya Exclusif, Infinite Radiance, Fleur Narcotique, and Freedom Musk Santal. Ha! If you own Valaya ( or a dupe)and Phlur Peach Skin, just layer them together and save your money. If you don’t have Valaya or anything similar, but like that dna, I would suggest this as a budget friendly option.

This is a very nice peach fragrance and is surprisingly mature (in a good way). I usually expect peach fragrances to either be candy, peach-ring sweet or clean and bright like fruity shampoo. This is sweet, but is also substantially woody and grounded. Like with the original Bare (which I love) the sandalwood is smooth, a bit powdery, not pickley. I think this layered with OG Bare would be perfect.

Ooh, I like this. To me, this is a very autumnal peach. It's giving peach pie drizzled with a sweet syrup at your local harvest festival and not at all gummy rings (though I would not call this gourmand personally). The dry down is very woody, and I'd say the sandalwood ends up being the star more than the peach. It reminds me of the sandalwood in Scandal Absolu, actually. Really nice! 🍑

I can see the resemblance with Valaya but less sharp in the opening! The opening with this one is more fruity because of the peach and smells almost like peach rings at first. I really like it and even if I have Valaya, I might reach for this one more often because it's less sharp and less agressive.

This fragrance is fine as it is, i feel like the sandalwood is a bit overpowering with the after smell, it should be balanced with a nice soft and sweet whitw floral like orange blossom, now that would tie this fragrance all together swell

Gives me Valaya (OG) and Fleur Narcotique vibes. It’s fresh and warm somehow and lovely. I also like Sueded Vanilla but this is much fresher!

Bare Nectar is a warm addition to the Bare line. The sandalwood in this is much smoother and warmer than that original. Nectar is a simpler composition. The sandalwood makes up 85% of it. It's very smooth, slightly creamy. This type of sandalwood is very feminine. It's the same type of sandalwood in Guidance and Idole Power, except it's much more tamed and wearable. There is still a hint of that funkiness up close, so be aware if you're sensitive to it. The more time that passes, the more the sandalwood dominates. The peach is strongest in the opening. At first, it's a bit sharp. Don't be quick to judge the perfume by the peach because it will calm down on skin after 10 minutes. Test this on your skin too, because the peach is much more prominent on a blotter. It won't smell the same on your skin. It is a juicy, ripe peach. That being said, the peach does persist throughout the wear. It just blends into the sandalwood. You can still detect a fruity twist. The performance is okay. If you want it stronger, do at least 4 sprays. I don't think it's the strongest Bare. I'd give that honor to the original and Sueded Vanilla. If you enjoy warm perfumes, I think you'll enjoy it. To me, it is too simple and uncomplicated. The lotion and mist can be good to layer with, but it is a little "meh" as a standalone perfume.

I love VS fragrances and was so excited when I saw this in store. Unfortunately this one was a let down. The honey note is so sharp and screechy. I could smell it right away in the bottle. When I sprayed it on the test paper, the peach came through so I wanted to try it on my wrist because I love the Bare line. This did not work with my skin chemistry at all. It was overwhelming sharp and metallic with no other notes. It was a scrubber for me, but this stuff lasts forever. Great if the fragrance works for you, but I wanted to get it off and it won’t come out. Honey notes are a hit or miss for me, so if you struggle with it as well make sure you try it on your skin.

I love the Bare line, but this smelled glaringly cheap and somehow also mature (not in a good way). Peach note is more a vague impression of fruitiness that fades in literal seconds. Quality of the sandalwood is poor. I was looking forward to this one, but this was a definite pass.

I don’t know how they combined these notes, but to me and my nose this is Valaya by PDM. It’s very fresh and soapy. Definitely get the peach detergent vibe from the more expensive perfume. I know how you guys like to tussle in the comments. If you don’t agree with my opinion, keep it cute.

You get a juicy peach orange fruit with the signature bare DNA in the background. Just put it on so testing it out. I do wish it projected a bit more like the other ones but it’s very summery.

This is Valaya with a peach note! I actually like it, it has decent longevity too. My favorite is still bare og but this is really good too.
