Bombshell

I really don’t understand the hate. Here’s the thing: I wear a different perfume every day, and given the number of perfumes I have, it doesn’t get repeated very often. 50 perfumes, 30 days in a month, you do the math. But each time, and I kid you not, each time I have worn this particular perfume, he has turned around and asked me, “Whoa! Which perfume are you wearing today?” I’m sure if I were to ask him to pick a favourite from my collection, this is what he would land on. Bombshell, without a doubt, is a sexy perfume. But it is young woman sexy, if you know what I mean. Bombshell is a 21 year old on her third, or maybe fourth night out to the club with her friends. She’s slowly starting to realise that being sexy has got nothing to do with how short her skirt is or revealing her top is – after all, she’d spent the last nights tugging at her skirt and pulling up her top. She stands in front of her mirror and looks up and there – right there – in that tilt of her chin, in that smile of hers, in that mischievous sparkle in her eyes – she finds that elusive sensuality of hers. It’s just a wisp of a feeling right now, a teeny little spark, but one that shows promise. Bombshell is wedding night perfume, very sexy, yes, but also with just enough of that little something to keep it from being truly foxy. It is white satin sheets and lacy curtains and pink pillows as opposed to, well, red. I think too many people have negative associations with Bombshell - late night clubbing, friends smoking while smelling of Bombshell - but this is one perfume that I will never tire of.

Longevity is solid, projection is friendly (not loud), and the overall vibe is joyful, approachable, and perfect for everyday wear. It feels like a scent you reach for when you want to feel pretty, relaxed, and wrapped in something familiar. Is it complex or groundbreaking? No — and it doesn’t need to be. This perfume to me is nostalgia in a bottle like another reviewer said. Not super nostalgic, like for example Gucci Rush or older fragrances, because I was in high school when bombshell was released. I remember when I first bought this perfume. It had been out for at least a year, but I got my driver's license, and where does every teenager go when they have their license? Yep, the local mall. I went into VS and smelled the classics - love spell, pear glace, the pink scents, and did my lap around the beauty products, stocking up on the lip glosses. and then I saw the travel size body mist of Bombshell. I was going to the gym every day at 4:00AM at that time in my life (oh to be young and have no responsibilities but high school and exercise), so I thought it would be perfect to toss in my gym bag. It was such a clean, fresh, light weight fragrance. It became my go to gym perfume, and I ended up getting the perfume a few months later. It smells like a clean, fruity, shampoo. If I can remember, it gives me the same vibes as Dylan Versace the new purple one. Like a clean, girly, happy inoffensive fragrance, also in the same vein as the classic Ralph by Ralph Lauren. Simple and straightforward, like being a teenager. I am going to get a bottle of this for the memories.

I found a website that sells designer inspired perfumes that are note-for-note the exact same, I have now bought 11 perfumes from them and they are ALL 100% spot on the same and I kid you not some of them are 2 and 3 dollars and the most expensive one I’ve seen was 21 dollars, it’s insanity in the best way! Anyways I had always wanted to try this but there is no VS stores in my city or surrounding areas AND the prices online were outrageous so when I found this for $4.39 for a 100mls size-it was a done deal! So it smells deliciously sweet, it’s fresh like shampoo or body wash without being overly generic smelling, floral in a light way and fruity in a sweet way. It’s so nice and inoffensive that it would make a great blind buy. It’s girly and clean smelling and while it would make a great summer and spring staple, it can absolutely be worn year round without coming off smelling out of season, if that makes sense! It doesn’t last the greatest amount of time but for less than five bucks spray again and again and again....I would love to have a body wash and lotion of this because I think layered it would last longer!

this was the first perfume i ever had. I got it for my 11th birthday along with a DVD of the first hunger games movie. the first time I smelled it was in the van nuys budweiser factory tour that my dad dragged me to along with our family friends. my mom and I were trailing in the back while I huffed hand lotion from her purse bc the smell was so abhorrent to me when to my surprise, an Angel walked past me — in the form of our friends' gorgeous and awesome older sister in college. this was her signature scent, and she was happy to let me wear it in what marked the early ages of my deep gratitude for my olfactory system. and the beginning of my life-long disdain for light beer <3 later she gifted me her old vanity desk, jewelry box, and makeup.. oh how she taught me to perform femininity! to me, VS bombshell is so fun and flirty and it always will be. bombshell, they could never make me hate you!
