Bombshell Oud

I've never had any Victoria's Secret perfumes before as I thought they just wouldn't produce anything really nice (a lingerie brand isn't supposed to as it's not their main product, obviously). However, this perfume really charmed me. The day before I was out in the city with my friend trying to test all the possible perfumes in the stores to find something new and it was at the end of the day when my nose was hardly distinguishing any perfumes at all already :D I sprayed several fragrances by VS on the perfume blotters and frankly speaking most didn't impress me at all, very mass-markety scents. I ended up not buying anything, however, the next day I woke up at home and couldn't stop smelling my phone case which had some traces of a very dark spicy unisex but at the same time floral perfume. It didn't smell synthetic as I thought smelled all the perfumes at VS before so I didn't think of this one but later I found a sample paper in my coat's pocket and this was the only one I kept and voila it was Bombshell Oud! I started reading about it on the internet and I discovered that it's a similar smell to Estee Lauder Sensous Noir and this is not surprising because my all-time favourite perfume I've used on a daily basis is Estee Lauder Sensous, I've liked it since I was 16 when my mom had it (she had many but this was one of the few I liked). This (ELS) is a pretty close-to-skin fragrance but it's also deep, sexy and I would say leaning to unisex as well, woody, warm and cozy. So that's how I went to the website and I decided to order a small roll-on perfume bottle (the large was not available at the time, seems it's pretty popular) and a body mist with the same name. What is strange, the body mist lasts longer on me than the perfume itself, just two sprays in the morning and I can still smell it on my clothes, skin and hair by the late end of the day and the next day (on clothes). On the contrary to EL Sensous, VS Bombshell Oud is loud and bold, the smell opens a bit synthetically but it settles down into a wonderful composition, unfortunately, I lack words and knowledge to describe it but I would recommend testing it first because it's not a safe blind buy but if you're into such smells, you may love it. I imagine confident and leaning to androgynous style ladies definitely past their early 20s would enjoy it and I guess it's more suitable for colder weather, can't imagine it in another country at 35-40 C degrees, could get suffocating

Perfume of my life... I can never forget the day I smelled this perfume at Victoria's Secret. I've never smelled anything like it before, and I never will. This perfume smells like the sexiest, darkest, and coolest woman walking past you in a black fur coat! It's definitely the scent of cold winter and autumn evenings. Its longevity? 6 months. No joke.

This is VS's most unique and attractive fragrance; it's not suitable for blind purchase. Oud and leather aren't notes for everyone, especially the leather note. Dark, spicy, expensive, sexy... and quite different and unexpected from the brand's usual style. That's one of the reasons I say it's not suitable for blind purchase.

This smells like EXPENSIVE money high end fragrances. A bit like a cologne. Very very woody plum vetiver. Suede. Yes. Leather. Very masculine. Very androgynous and just. Money. High end. You would never guess this is Victorias secret. Just. Wow

It feels like Angel by mugler, ambroxan bomb. But silent oud stays there. One of my fave smelling thing from VS. but then again only for those who are into Angel will appreciate this.

I cannot stand the smell of Bombshell but this flanker is sexy!! It’s smells high quality actually I didn’t expect this type of fragrance from VS but longevity is poor :/

This & Wicked are my favorite VS fragrances. This is a soft oud. It reminds me of a posh horse farm in the best way possible.

This is a DUPE for the now discontinued Estée Lauder Sensuous Noir. That was a dark, sultry, oud type of fragrance. This isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, young people beware. I owned Sensuous Noir and got roaring compliments, finished a whole bottle, as soon as I sprayed Bombshell Oud, I thought “This smells sooo familiar!” And bam! I remembered! Bombshell Oud projects pretty strong, so go light w the sprays so others don’t get a headache around you, this is definatley to be worn in winter, it’s a warm, beautiful Smokey (Oud) scent. This is not blind but worthy- you should definately try before you buy. I would say this is the same family type as Very Sexy Orchid but more masculine. I like masculine so this was a winner for me. If your sensitive to strong scents or masculine scents and lean fruity floral—- do NOT buy this. Other than that- I like it! :-)

Been using this for quite some time and these are my thoughts: At first spray, there is a medicinal and metallic sharpness, likely from the saffron and mandarin, but it softens within minutes. The magic is in the dry down — a heavenly, creamy oud wrapped in the warmth of sueded peony. It feels clean, smooth, and luxurious without being overpowering. Easily unisex. Projection is intimate to moderate, perfect for close encounters, fall, office, even summer date nights. As a man, I love wearing this, though I wish it projects more. I think bergamot, juniper, and cardamom could replace Mandarin and violet for a better opening, adding crisp and soft spiciness. Opening: 4.5/10 Dry down: 9.2/10 Performance: 6.7/10

I have only tried this in lotion, so I can’t speak on the perfume itself. But the oud in this is LOUD and unlike anything I’ve ever tried from VS. As someone who owns the OG Bombshell, I don’t understand how they’re even in the same family. I love it nonetheless. I smell the oud and the suede above all else. Definitely leans masculine, but it’s wearable for me. The lotion makes a great base to layer a woody/smoky perfume over.

It's good but i think it's too light, the original bombshell smell is good, i hoped that it would be more of oud with bombshell sweetness and little strong but it's too feminine for me, I barely noticed oud, suede is little evident with sweetness of amber, the fragrance is great though it's just that it's quite light to sniff

Don't be put off by the chemical scent in the opening. This settles down into a sexy, androgynous leather-floral. I tried layering it with a more masculine spicy leather and I love the results so far. I had no idea VS made fragrances like this

Soft oud indeed. I have the mist of this and I consider it a very adventurous flanker by Victoria's Secret. I really like it. I honestly avoid many oud perfumes, but this one is very soft and easy on the nose.

I feel like every perfume line has a nod to this scent profile. I own so many ouds, maybe I'm spoiled, expect too much. But this scent opens nicely, smells decent and then fades quickly into an extremely generic, unremarkable VS perfume that kind of smells like all the rest in the Bombshell line. Meh. I blind bought it and like Bombshell Intense, I was disappointed. The Oud disappears quickly, if it's really Oud to begin with, it's so weak. I hope I remember not to buy another Bombshell, certainly they don't live up the their name. My hubby doesn't think too much of it either. Says it just smells like a ladies perfume. Not horrible, not anything great. Mediocre, is the word. The dry down is very disappointing, and so close to the skin within about 45 minutes , NO ONE will detect it. It does last longer on clothes, but on the skin, it's a real hit and run. Even when you layer it with lotion, which I did. Some are describing this as a strong perfume and I think they haven't invested in a truly strong oud scent, like L'Autre Oud, or Oud for Greatness, or Halfeti or More Than Words. I barely detect any Oud. Not everyone likes a beast mode scent, so I wasn't expecting that from the one, not for the price point. But I didn't expect it to be so weak so quickly. It actually smells cheap. I'm not a snob. I buy dupes when they are good. I have a bottle of $10 perfume that lasts longer and smells better than this one. I would say, save your $70, add a little more to it and get yourself something that doesn't smell so very common and run of the mill. Unless that's what you're going for.

This fragrance is heavy! I bought it based on the reviews here and I'm not sure if I will get much wear out of it. There is definitely patchouli in this which is frustrating because it's not listed as a note here or on the VS site. I normally love oud-saffron combinations but the patchouli in this makes it lean stuffy and older smelling. The projection is big. The only notes I get clearly aside from the uncredited patchouli are oud and violet. I wish more of the saffron and peony came through. I'll try this again in the cooler weather to see how it goes.

This is the perfume an old lady wears. By far the worst VS perfume and DON'T blind buy!

Got a little 7.5ml tester of this in a giftset and, yeah... I`m glad the bottle isn`t any bigger. I barely every give a fragrance a dislike, but this just isn`t for me. Mind, I do like leathery fragrances and I do own oud fragrances I am okay with although it`s not my favourite note, but something about this compisition just rubs me the wrong way. The opening is chemically sharp and sour on me. For an instant I really thought it`s an instant scrubber. But fine, I let it sit a little and I do get some okay-ish pleasant suede whiffs with an underlying spiciness and a synthetic fruity note that I would identify as tart dark berry, although there isn`t any listed, but that`s what I`m smelling. What really throws me off in the end is how it smells close up on my skin. The oud note is super prominent on me and lord, this one is skanky on me. Seeing how many people like this I feel bad giving this a dislike, but on me this is an unbalanced sour skanky mess. I tried to give it a fair chance but after 2hrs I yielded and washed it off. Please mind that it`s a possibility my sample turned bad or maybe my skin chemistry just didn`t work with it. If you love this and it works for you that`s great! For me, it`s a no. (Btw. if I want to wear something with light Oud, personally, I`d go for Oud Al Sahraa by Berdoues. For leathery fragrances I`d reach for Kelly Calèche by Hermès or Sekushi by Lengling. Just so you get an idea how I personally prefer those notes)

As a twenty five year old who is very into smelling like a cupcake, this caught me off guard. It is STRONG and completely unlike anything VS has done before. This would have made more sense as a stand alone fragrance and not part of the bombshell line. This stuff lasts and radiates. I used a rollerball and I couldn’t get it off to save my life. Very harsh and bitter leather and saffron is what I get. It’s very very mature and it doesn’t work for me but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect it because this could be great for the right person. I commend VS for doing something different. I’ll stick with my sugar scents though.

This is from VS?? No way! This is deep and spicy and on my skin the oud is very prominent. I agree with emt1986 that this isn't going to appeal to their usual crowd and the snobs simply won't try it, so yeah, it'll probably get discontinued at some point. I hope not though because Bombshell Oud is actually quite good. I'm very surprised by the depth of this and I really wish they would do more releases like this. As for the notes, the opening is mostly oud and woodsy on me and it stays that way for some time. The dry down is kinda fruity, and I see a smidge of resemblance with Jimmy Choo's dry down as someone else as voted. I don't get any of the fresher notes listed though, nor do I get any of the original Bombshell DNA. Overall, a surprising release from VS!

I bought this after reading a couple of reviews that it was a "dupe" for Estee Lauder's discontinued Sensuous Noir. I LOVED Sensuous Noir and it baffles me as to why such a beautiful fragrance would be discontinued. It smelled like the color of the bottle; a purple scent. Bombshell Oud (to my nose) had a strong alcohol smell when I first sprayed it and in those first few minutes it didn't remind me at all of Sensuous Noir. In the dry down, you get faint and diluted whispers of Sensuous Noir; it lacks the depth and richness and mystery of Sensuous Noir. I might try the Middle Eastern dupe of Bombshell Oud (Maison Alhambra's Pink Shimmer Oud) because ME perfumes tend to be stronger and I'm hoping it'll smell more strongly of Sensuous Noir.
