Daring

Opal Drip KKW, BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla, VS Astrology mist Pink Water, Tease Creme Cloud and BR540. Here we go again. I smell some musk-amber and a fresh bergamot opening, but the mossy, earthy balsamic resinous amber-y drydown is identical to Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla which has a natural crude intense amber like this one. It's a cleaner more simple structure and scent without lacking in richness, and I love that. Its drydown is also pretty identical to KKW Opal Drip without the sour tones of the latter. Daring has a similar green vibe but with bergamot. When I tested Daring I knew right away that it's in the BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla - BR540 family with a much more smooth resinous feel and some fresher opening. The opening is lovely and very clean just like in the BBW Aromatherapy Cedarwood Vanilla. After the opening I am sensing an almost rubbery slightly "smoky" amber which is nice,(nothing burnt, not obnoxious), it does not burn my nose as with Tease Creme Cloud and it does not have the heady vanilla of Cloud, but I do smell some sugar here but it must be the syrupy amber; it has a 'thick' smooth drydown, sweet and slightly balsamic yet light so this is why it's very close to Opal Drip which was a unique variation of the BR540 in this congested genre and it also had this subtle amber-y smokiness before the drydown as Daring does. I love the moss I am a huge moss fan - hi Chloe Nomade- I just bought VS Bombshell Paris and it has all the moss I need in a fresher non-BR540 setting with a Burberry Brit type of scent in the opening and a unisex fresh drydown. I bought Daring despite being similar to Opal Drip and Pink Water the VS Astrology mist which to me is even better than Daring due to the coconut, but Daring is more sophisticated. I do love its drydown in the breeze outside. Bare Vanilla Untamed is not similar to this, not even by the notes imo. Its serene fresh, damp-mossy yet resinous opening and heart are one of a kind and I love how it becomes more sugared progressively and slightly waxy even to reach that comforting and botanical amber-y earthy drydown.

I absolutely love this! I had written off VS fragrances long ago, but they totally redeemed themselves with this one. Unlike anything else VS has available at the moment, and I'm still shocked it is a Victoria Secret fragrance 🤯🤯 I do not agree that Frangetica has all the notes listed, while I smell all the ones they list to some degree, I definitely smell a little pear and maybe salt?? It has a sweetness to it that you wouldn't expect looking at the description on paper....not gourmand sweet, but enough to make it lean feminine. It's a very clean girl scents so if that is your thing definitely try this one out. I have the travel and the lotion and will be upgrading to a full size the next good sale VS has. Only drawback is that because it's Victoria Secret, this may not be around for long 😬😬, in my experience they are quick to discontinue things even if they are popular....so I'm definitely going to buy a couple of back ups just in case ❤️

I love the restraint this scent was created with. It's sweet, earthy and lush. For me, it's a wearable interpretation of the BR540 DNA. I've purchased Burberry Her, AG's Cloud, Coach's Wild Rose, a few Arabian dupes, a decant of the original itself and I've found they all have an intoxicating quality with a challenging edge. I can't tolerate something in the perfumes, unfortunately. They start off as winners so I hope this doesn't suffer the same fate. This almost got tossed out immediately. My order was was about a week late. When it finally arrived the initial blast of musky ambroxan immediately triggered my associations with BR540. It was vile. The following day revealed a soft and pleasant scent perfect for fall. It's worth noting that this is definitively a cool-weather scent - one I'll likely set aside during summer months. For the rest of this year, though, I anticipate reaching for this frequently.

So I was surprised they made a new bottle - this is a departure from the regular - bombshell, tease, and bare flankers - even very sexy flankers - so going with a whole new pilar is nice - the notes worried me - but I do actually really like this! FIRST the bottle is a must see - unique misshapen glass, the top lid with the stamp of "Victoria's secret" and just the quality of it. 2023 99% of the VS releases were superstar's - so far this is the best release this year next to magnolia bare - I will say Daring leans a bit familiar - not a TOTAL copy cat of another scent but very familiar. I like this and it's an easy wear that I think will perform in heat and cold weather - perfect release for this time period!

Really pretty I’m glad I bought a bottle recently, starts off bright with a citrus sweet opening then as it starts to settle I get this pretty warm amber mixed in with a soft slight woody base. Tad does remind me of Burberry her without the strawberry and powdery note Burberry her has. Surprisingly VS Daring lasted 6 hours plus on skin and hours on my clothes. The next day I went to wash my jumper I had worn the day before which I sprayed this on and I could still smell it on the jumper, even after I washed the jumper it still had a faint smell of the perfume on it. Which I wasn’t mad about lol.

i was absolutely addicted to this scent when i smelled it in the store. it's very unlike anything VS has released. the bergamot and mossy notes are really well-blended, but definitely present. the dry-down is primarily amber. i see this as pretty unisex, which i think makes the presentation more fitting. i love it on myself, but would also love to smell this on a man. it gives the air of being well-groomed. all that being said, i could see this as being unpopular and i don't see it sticking around. i hope i'm wrong.

Honestly surprisingly love this. Saw the notes and thought nah. Then I smelled it in store. It’s so ambery and sweet and a little bit fresh. I honestly can’t describe it. It feels like nostalgic almost 80s like I may have smelled this before and it brings fond memories? But I can’t place it. I def feel like it’s almost a cousin of Bare and Creme Cloud but also very different just that vibe. Longevity is good too. Give it a go. For sure a fan minus the cheesy name. Bottle is kinda cool too.

For reference: I’m a woman in her late 40’s. I received this as a sample size from a scent subscription service. Opens with a musky, fruity scent which lasts for around 30-40 minutes. Dries down to a beautiful fruity musk, with amber undertones. This one is moderate, stays within wearer’s bubble, and lasts on skin for a good 4-6 hours. This scent is beautiful, and good for wear anytime. Light enough for casual, but sensual enough for date night. Love this! Will be getting more soon.

I love this! It opens with a blast of sweet, clean citrus. Then the warm sweet amber comes in, balanced with that earthy moss note. How do I even explain the scent of this? It’s one of those that you can’t really identify what you’re smelling, you just know that it smells good. If you smell this on someone you won’t think they’re outright wearing perfume; just that their natural aroma is clean & pleasant. It just smells put together, but not overdone.

Today I went and smelled this at the victoria's secret.At the mall by my house, and it made me think of this guy.I work with, and I almost bought it for him.But I didn't, I could smell this on a guy and love it.But on a woman, I don't think it would work it just smells like comforting and security, which, for some reason I find in this man even he isnt my boyfriend or anything but I would love to smell this on him

i LOVE this perfume. the bergamot gives it such a fresh and sweet opening, and then it mixes so well w everything beneath it. im impressed by how straightforward the perfume is in general- as it sits it goes thru each note very distinctly, with barest hints of the note before it left behind. the dry down is gorgeous, its sharp and mossy and warm woody and barely sweet after an hour or two, its rly so nice.

I find this a little sweeter than I expected it to be. Not sugary gourmand sweet, but a little fruity sweet. It’s fresh but ambery, clean, and a little different than most of what I wear. Longevity is just ok on me - I did have to reapply mid-day. I think it leans slightly feminine but could be unisex depending on your tastes.

The reminds me of section is laughable as usual🙄 Anyway, Victoria's Secret did a great job with this fragrance. This is a wonderful callback- in fact I believe it's the reincarnation of the iconic Body fragrance of 2002. It smells like a sweeter and more elevated take on that classic, and I hope they keep it around.

Pleasantly surprised by this scent. Good for formal events, or maybe professional settings. Good projection too. Update: This lasted me a good 7 hours with moderate to light projection. Update 2: Kinda smells like Zara Red Temptation

One of my top 3 perfumes. It's my signature fall/winter scent. I live in Florida and it's to much for the heat but I love it so much. Definitely a compliment getter. My favorite is when a stranger tells me that I smell amazing .

Outstanding unisex fragrance. Unexpected in usual VS line up. Soft woody dry down is to die for.

i was surprised at how long-lasting it is but there’s no projection at all

I got the chance to test this perfume through a tester given with purchase. Right now it hasn’t been too long since I sprayed it so I’m still trying to see how it’ll proceed as hours pass but it starts with a sharp strong spicy smell, as it also said in the description, it’s a fresh spice. I definitely see this perfume as an unisex perfume but from a distance, I can get that warm, sweet scent of amber, which is something I definitely love. Apart from oakmoss and bergamot, I feel like there’s something else but I can’t put my finger on it. It also reminds me of another perfume but I can’t remember that too, there’s a familiarity in this. This is a smell I think I’ll like better as a little time passes because initially I wasn’t so impressed. I can’t say I’m in love with this smell but I think it’s a nice perfume that I’d like to own a full bottle. It has became my mom’s favourite though and she seems to love it more than I do. Also, I haven’t tested many Victoria’s Secret perfumes but among the ones I smelled, I can say this has become one of my favourites, it feels more interesting. I like the way it fades away and I can suggest giving this perfume a go if you can smell it in person. It may not be for everyone but overall liked it, it’s a sophisticated and strong perfume.

I just got this in the mail today, I am really excited because i’ve heard a lot about the fragrance but no one could describe it for my imagination. The first test spray was on paper. It’s very woody/bergamot forward . On paper that doesn’t really change, it’s not sweet it’s even a bit sharp. Second spray is on my wrist, and HOLYYYYYYYYYYY! It has settled and changed immediately. The woodiness died down and now it’s very earthy and ambery, a little sweet but not nearly too much. I was afraid this would give me a headache but my head and nose feel pleasantly fine! I haven’t seen anyone else say this but this scent literally smells so close to Body by Victoria. That was my favorite perfume and I’ve yet to find a dupe! Well it smells like the DNA are very similar in the two. It’s an honest clean, earthy and sweet scent. Thinking of pairing it with my amber oil or body mist. Also the amber in the perfume really isn’t the heavy and sweet amber we’re used to. This scent really is beautiful! It’s also NOT soapy than god. I’m normally a gourmand girly but I think I could definitely layer this.

i work at victorias secret and hand out samples of this perfume all day long on the sales floor. when it first released, i assumed i would hate it because im not a fan of any of the three notes. when i first sprayed it, however, i fell in love. it’s an amber unlike any other i’ve tried. perhaps its just the way this blends with my skin chemistry, but the amber in this is so warm and sticky and sweet on me it almost smells like caramel. the bergamot lends a soft dewiness to this scent that keeps it fresh and wearable. daring is a chameleon and needs to be tested on skin to know how it will truly smell on you, but on me this is a great everyday scent for when i want to smell warm and sweet but not necessarily edible.

This one really surprised me. For starters, it’s like pretty much nothing else you’ll smell in VS; it’s still sexy but in a stripped back, less in-your-face way. I’m not usually a fan of citrus forward perfumes but I love this. The bergamot is noticeable but somehow this is very musky and warm and almost feels a touch salty. My first impression was a summery skin scent, but I think could transition to cooler months as well. This layers really nicely with the Book Loft lotion from B&BW-the bergamot notes are similar. Unfortunately Daring is not very long lasting, even when layered over lotion, so I’m not sure I’d upgrade to a full size when I finish this one up.

I picked up a travel size of this at a recent VS sale and it's not at all what the notes imply, to my nose at least. Here it's labeled an Oriental Woody fragrance with only 3 notes - amber, bergamot, and oakmoss, but to my nose it smells like a sweet citrusy aromatic fragrance, unisex but definitely feminine leaning. No funky earthy or heavy synthetic notes detected. The longevity and sillage are moderate, and when bought on sale, it's a great find! I think this can be worn in all seasons - it has a freshness that makes it appropriate for warmer weather, and a sweet warmth that makes it appropriate for the colder months as well. Overall 8/10

I keep a travel mist of this in my work bag and I love it for that. I like unisex-leaning (but feminine) frags for work but this by no means smells like aftershave. It's clean, it's fresh, it's almost pretty even -- but not too much. My only gripe with it is I tire of the BR540 DNA which is currently so ubiquitous. But this is the only version of those Cloud-like frags I've ever actually wanted to keep and wear. I love oakmoss! This is one of the more "grown" scents I own. My other favorite office frag is Finery Before the Rainbow if that gives you any indication. Very similar nature and several shared notes.

The opening of this was a little too fruity-floral generic for my taste, and the bergamot note too bright to be going into fall. The dry down was much better. The moss note and amber reminds me a bit of a (much) less fruity Burberry Her. The amber note is very sweet. The whole composition is relatively soft and although marketed as unisex this doesn't have any masculine hint to it at all.

It's Burberry Her, but sub the strawberry for a powdery bergamot. It's very beautiful, and surprisingly pulls less synthetic on me than the Burberry. It definitely has that similar Baccarat dry-down. Super nice deviation from the other VS scents, this and the bare line have been a nice departure from the bombshells and teases.

This is a slightly stronger and deeper version of the original Bare. I have Bare and I like it. And now I have a slightly stronger one. Moderate sillage and projection. I layer the lotion, spray and perfume. It’s pleasant but I wouldn’t call it Daring. Still nice and not offensive. But not Daring.

lowkey smells like a masc version of ariana grande cloud. it smells like winter and also middle school.

I immediately fell in love when I smelled Daring. It is signature worthy. It is sexy, feminine, and mysterious. The notes blend together, resulting in a sweet oakmoss that is a little fuzzy. The amber adds the needed sweetness, in a distinctive Y2K fruity resinous style. The combination is reminiscent of the drydown of Prada Paradoxe Intense. However, this oakmoss lacks earthiness. I do not smell any bergamot, but I have heard other reviewers mention it in the opening. The notes make it seem like a 70s perfume, but it's absolutely not. It is along the lines of BR540 or Cloud in its sweet fuzziness. However, it has a dense quality to it rather than airy. Overall, Daring seems like an evening or cold weather flanker of Bare. It has beastly performance. It lasted almost 2 days on me, even through a shower. I only wear 3 sprays, but you could certainly announce yourself with more sprays. I must commend VS for returning to long-lasting perfumes in their Bare line, and now Daring. The scented bar soap is also incredible.

Well to be fair it is daring.... The first three minutes are heavenly. Soft mossy amber, I swear a light musk, very different from the usual VS offerings. My first sniffs I thought oh my goodness this is going to be a new favorite! And then it dries down by minute five. And you get moss, moss, some moss, and more moss. I smelled nothing else. This has more moss the Commodity’s Moss. And that at least has other notes in it to soften. Nope this one is sharp moss from minute 5 till skin scents out after 2 hours. If that opening few minutes had stayed it would be wonderful. Rather odd how fast it changed to a sharp one note, in case you missed it, moss.

I really liked the notes and thought I'd love it so I blind bought it. There is something sharply synthetic about it, and on my skin, incredibly cologney. I don't get any sweetness from it as some other people do. It's very woody and somehow cold. I'd say it's more masculine leaning but with a bit of warmth that makes it unisex. It's a lot of things, and I can't put my finger on any

I really wanted to love this one but man it kinda gives me a headache :( I bought the body mist for layering and boy is it strong. It smells EXACTLY like the mall. Don’t bother buying the perfume, the body mist is plenty strong for way more product at a cheaper price.

it smells similar to bath & body works-in the stars, but it’s less complex and much sweeter. i don’t think this one is worth buying when bbw already offers a higher quality fragrance with a very similar scent profile.

I find this very underwhelming. It’s pretty but so incredibly generic. It smells like every sweet & fruity body spray you can find in a drugstore. Like another user said, there's nothing daring about it.

umm how to say this... it's boring.. to be frank. It doesn't smell bad or anything but it's not noticeable. I don't really get a note of anything. Sometimes I forget that I put it on, it's that boring.

The opening is RAID roach spray. Maybe it's just the way it acts on my skin. After the RAID settled, it smelled like drug store aftershave. THEN, a whisper of what it must smell like to everyone else: sweet and crisp. That quickly devolved into a mature woman's scent which I hesitate to say because I am now, a mature woman I suppose. But if you are a gen-xr, there is a moment in there that just says: old lady. I can imagine this smelling modern and nice on the right person. It was a blind buy for me and I am bummed. The bottle is so pretty.

I bought this during VS sale based on the description. I love oak moss but to my nose, this smelled sweet and not at all woody. Rather I found an underlying note that I get when I smell papaya, slightly like milky baby vomit and I couldn't stop smelling it. I'm going to have to pass on this and sell it to someone who enjoys it because clearly it doesn't work with my skin chemistry.

Based on the notes, I thought I’d love this, but when I smelled it in person, there was a sharpness that I just could not get past. I wore it for a few hours, and it mellowed out a bit after an hour, but the sharpness still lingered the entire time I was wearing it. My search for a nice mossy fragrance continues.

Why does no one mention that it seems to be a dupe for BR540, Cloud, Burberry Her... completely the same vibe and feel. Nothing new at all. Everything smells the same in this family or has an almost identical smell

Nice fresh, citrusy opening but then the synthetic amber and moss show up in FORCE is it becomes sickeningly harsh. Headache inducing scrubber.

Smells like you spilled pineapple juice on yourself. A bit sour. Not for me.

So bad. This fragrance is a cheap amber accord bomb. Rather than exude warmth, it is super harsh and stinging to the nose. Literally physically painful. I keep coming back to my bottle and hoping it changes into the "amazing fragrance" that everyone raves about, but it's still that same nostril searing amber every time. I've smelled good amber, and bad amber, and this definitely falls into the latter category.

Im writing this review as i smell this for the first time, so I cant really speak on longevity and stuff. On the initial spray I get blasted with that citrussy bergamot, the oakmoss is mearly a background character, for just a few minutes its like this but quickly settles into a very beautiful ambery oakmoss scent that the bergamot plays a small role in. this fragrance is super clean and sparkly. it's mainly the oakmoss and amber but the bergamot plays a supporting role that really feels like the cherry on top for this fragrance. it feels a little too childish and generic for my personal taste, but i'd love to sit next to the person who wears this, if you like those types of clean scents then I think you would like this, it's very VS esque. if you like other VS perfumes then this would probably be a safe blind buy, although the review under me disagrees. Now this perfume has probably sat on my skin for ten minutes now, and it kind of smells like lotion. not in a bad way necessarily, but the oakmoss has really taken over on my skin, the bergamot barely noticable. For some reason, its almost as if I smell granola way way in the background. Overall, I do enjoy this, but most likely wouldn't buy a full bottle for myself, once again though, it does smell lovely.

I see quite a few people comparing this to Creme Cloud, so I compared them side by side - Daring on one hand and Creme Cloud on the other. I do see the comparison but they are cousins at best. Definitely some of the same DNA but Creme Cloud is soft and airy while Daring is a brighter, fresher option. Daring is the easy, breezy no make up surfer girl and Creme Cloud loves everything pink and fluffy with bows. Daring would be the better option for summer and daytime wear while I think Creme Cloud shines best in the colder air and at night. Do you need both if you have one? Maybe not. I think they're both lovely but I personally prefer Creme Cloud!

This is beautiful! Bare by VS has been the top “newest” fragrance for them, and daring now has to be up there! This is going to be a very popular scent for 2025, super crowd pleaser. It’s fresh, mossy and has that amber background. Smells very put together and clean like. People are comparing that it’s identical to creme cloud tease by VS but I totally disagree. Imagine creme cloud being a 13 year old girl, daring is her older sister. I don’t like creme cloud because it’s too synthetic for me, but daring is now in my top. Stunning!

Where do people get oak-moss from this? One of the newest releases from VS, Daring is like Bare in that its a deep amber scent with a slight tangy citric tinge that gives off a clean-girl like vibe when applied but I would say I prefer Bare over this. To me its a generic feminine amber perfume, nothing green or herbal or “mossy” like some would have you believe. This is a generic warm spicy perfume and could probably be an ok skin scent if it adapts well to your chemistry. Nothing daring about it at all.

woah perhaps a dark horse for me! Based off the notes I wasn't sure I was going to like this at all. I think the bottle is beautiful though btw. I wouldn't call this unisex it leans more feminine. I think this is a good gateway perfume for the girly girls trying to get into more unisex scents from a trusted girly girl store. I really am pleased with this. it's woody but has a sweet quality in the mid that steers it away from masculine. I'm very pleased makes me rethink my avoidance towards bergamont

indistinguishable linear and pleasant. More of a skin scent. I guess it - in a way - smells like the mall. If i had to give it a reason to be wearable, that's why I would. It's still sweet for not having any sweet notes. Sugary but clean. The oakmoss just gives it an anchor in the natural. I like it, even though it has more amber than I normally wear; it's tolerable. If it went harder with the sandalwood and had a ton more sillage, it could pull off some Tom Ford vibes. Keeper!

Rather aptly named as this is quite a departure from the sickly sweet scents that VS is famously known for. Don't get me wrong, this scent still leans sweet but in a creamy, woody and almost resinous expression, owing to the amber. As soon as the citrusy bright opening goes away, this settles into a smooth and woody scent with a touch of green notes, that is undeniably elegant and inoffensive. And that's hardly how most people would describe any VS scent. Daring? I agree.

Hated at first, then almost a year later I tried again in store, and I couldn’t get the scent out of my head. It was so good and addictive. Got a bottle, and now it makes me nauseous a bit sometimes. Not sure what it is. It smells a similar to snif citrus circus dry down/on paper. Haven’t compared the two side by side (or wrist by wrist?)on skin, but very similar otherwise. Also, this feels like a version of bare, but you cannot put do the queen, Bare OG edp
