First Love

VS First Love is a pretty straightforward floral fragrance. It’s a very fresh, crisp blend of violet leaf and lily. Personally, I find that violet leaf is not as “powdery” smelling as the bud, which is a huge plus for me. It smells very clean, but not in the soapy/shampoo/detergent way that the original VS Love has. Just in the sense that the notes are simple, not overly “busy” or complex. It’s also less sweet than the original VS Love (bought them side-by-side), instead offering an almost a green quality to it. It’s a very feminine wear, good for day or night. The sillage is not too crazy, so it would be a safe choice for the office. This is one of my favorite fragrances for everyday, but it’s also good for a “cuddle on the couch” kind of night.

I’d consider First Love a skin scent. It’s light and fresh. Delicate florals and musk. Airy. Green. Golden light shining through white curtains with a warm summer breeze flowing through. It smells so good on me. The longevity, however, is not very good at all. I have a rollerball that Victoria’s Secret sent me to try back when this was a brand new fragrance. I love the scent and really enjoy it - while it lasts.

Victoria's Secret had this marked down so I decided to try. I've tried Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, as well as Zara Applejuice, and these most definitely all smell the same to me. Which I love. It's fresh and clean and very inoffensive. It has a soft musk to it that makes it even wearable in colder months, but it is preferably a springtime and summer scent. Great for everyday, fresh and feminine.

This should have never been discontinued. It smells way better than VS Love and is a perfect spring and summer everyday scent. It's floral, feminine, fresh but not soapy, and pretty. It doesn't last as long as I'd like but the scent makes up for it. In fact, the mist actually lasts longer than the EDP, at about 3-4 hours and smells more expensive than it actually costs.

Im so sorry that this scent is being discontinued. I love it. It reminds me of the original by Marc Jacobs like so many others have said. After seeing numerous people compare it to Chanel Chance Tendre I decided to try it and yes, it does kinda remind you of it too. Its true that you have to apply it more than once but that's how most fragrances are.

A soft and delicate spring-time floral. Fresh and green. A little bit sweet and a little bit aquatic with a base of clean cottony musk. I like this a lot as well as the original Love. Nice release from Victoria's Secret.

Every time VS has their Semi Annual Sale or Scent Event, I pray for them to bring First Love back. It's a total gem and yes as others have pointed out, it's identical to Chanel Chance Eau Tendre.

Love at 1st scent. This for me is the perfect floral scent. Smells perfumy not a mist. Wish project and sillage is better. I have to reapply every now and then.

It’s such a pretty scent and lasting is great I don’t like most vs fragrances but this is so decent

Second bottle, although is starting to be hard to find. Scent is very similar to Chance by Chanel.

This a fresh floral that smells clean and feminine. Very similar to Daisy

Was so excited when this was announced as Iʻm a huge fan of the original Love and was looking forward to a spring fragrance. This is very pleasant, but as others have said, not very original. Maybe itʻs just the bottle+juice color, but Iʻm getting Gucciʻs Flora Eau Fraiche vibes. The top note is very sweet+floral on me, and only lasts about 10 minutes and then Iʻm left with a warm, cottony musk. Sillage is poor... I have to put my wrist right up to my nose to smell anything (and this is even with it sprayed behind my ears), and longevity is maybe 30 min-1.5 hours on me, but thatʻs normal for me with VSʻs newer fragrances.

I received it as a gift from colleagues on my resignation. At first I thought, "oh, it smells like Chanel Chance Eau Tendre". I know I was not gonna love this scent because Chanel Chance Eau Tendre is one that I absolutely hate, I first smelled it on someone who didn't have a body chemistry with that scent and it stuck to my memory since. It smelled sour on her almost, like some sort of rancid smell of someone who sweat and decided to mask it with perfume. But when I tried this on, it smelled good. It smells so fresh and casual. In fact I just found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would. It's a good daily scent.

This is Daisy if Elizabeth Arden had made it. It reminds me a little bit of Ardenbeauty - but only as a memory since I haven't smelled that in over 15 years It's a very subtle pretty feminine scent that will most likely only get you compliments. It's airy light and uplifting. I see myself reaching for this when I'm dressed casual and want to smell clean

Honestly was not expecting to like this one but got it on sale anyway and I do like it. Im usually not into fresh or green scents but this is really nice. It smells slightly fruity but not overly so at all. This is just a very pretty scent for when you want something clean and fresh but still pretty. Would be great for hot summer days

Pretty fragrance. "LOVE" is better. This smells so much like other celeb scents. When I sprayed it first I said ohhhh who is this!? Then I realized okay! It's "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs, and something else! Then it hit me. "Circus Fantasy" by Britney Spears! Total mix of the two!

Definitely a Daisy dupe. I got this first and later compared to a sample of Daisy. To my nose it is 90% similar. Daisy is a bit more subdued and less screechy in the opening, but in First Love this doesn't last too long. All in all, it passes as a more affordable dupe.

A very light scent as much as I love wearing it I often forget I am. The bottle is really beautiful and the scent is lovely and light when you spray for the first time. It just tends to stink on skin with no real sillage. I mostly get notes of lily of the valley.

I’ve had this scent ever since it was released and still love it. First love is such a fresh, clean floral. I wish the lasting power was better. This only lasts a few hours and as a result, I use the scented lotion more often than the perfume.

I didn’t love this one on first spray, but the dry down is really nice. The lily of the valley reminds me of Heaven a bit, and it’s very fresh. Inoffensive, clean, and great for an everyday scent.

This scent is light, fresh, a bit floral, a bit musky, and a great perfume for spring. It evokes the greenery of May, and the casualness of a white tee shirt and jeans. It stays close to the skin, so the sillage is basically non-existent, but I think it works for this scent. It reminds me of rolling out of bed, grabbing a clean shirt from the laundry, and heading out the door. However, the longevity isn't good with this perfume. I found myself having to reapply every two or three hours. I definitely think "Love" by VS is a better scent, but that's just me, personally. I don't think First Love is worth the money for the full bottle, but the rollerball version is a good price if you're looking to try it.

I bought fragrance mist of this, and it was fruity and sweeter than I had imagined. I tried it on mouette(paper) and thought this is very similar to DAISY by Marc Jacobs. Not my favorite scent but I think this is good for warm season.

This smells like a cheaper version of marc jacobs daisy. Nothing special..pretty disappointing really. I like the original version better.

First Love is a very clean, fresh, delicate fragrance. Very crisp, soft floral. Almost cotton-like. Unlike the original Love, this has almost no sweetness, and it is much lighter overall. The main note is lily-of-the-valley. The musk is present in a small dose. I was hoping there was more musk, but the overall scent is still very nice. Nothing groundbreaking, but nice. Longevity is weak to moderate. Sillage is moderate. I could not smell it after a couple of hours. It may be from nose fatigue, or it could be just a lighter fragrance. Perhaps it is tailored this way purposely for higher temperatures. Classically spring, for sure, and probably perfect for hot summer days as well, when vanillas prove cloying. Although I still prefer Love to this one, it is a great twist on the original. I regret not purchasing a rollerball while at the store.

First Love has a subtle sweetness, but not sticky or heavy, it's breezy and gorgeous. There's gotta be more notes, cause I pick up on a slightly acidic fresh fruit note. No powdery or dryer sheet musk which I can't stand. Hopefully VS doesn't discontinue First Love, because it's been over a decade since I've liked anything from VS. It's different from VS's other frags that are fruit syrup concoctions. This shares the same spirit that the original beloved Dream Angels collection had back in early 2000's. I hope they keep it around.

This fragrance is fresh and green, with an inoffensive lily of the valley scent 🌿🌸. It’s perfect for everyday wear—think church or the office—without being overpowering. Definitely not a sexy date night scent or seductive in any way; it’s more like a mousy churchgirl wearing a cashmere sweater and a cross necklace 🧥✝️. It reminds me of a blend between Zara Applejuice and CHANCE EAU FRAÎCHE, though the scent doesn’t stick around for long—lasting only about an hour on me ⏳

If Chance Eau Tendre EDP is a muskier version of the EDT then this First Love is even muskier than the EDP. From the accords listed I was hoping to get greener Eau Tendre/Eau so Fresh but what I got is the muskiest version of all. Compares to Daisy Eau so Fresh this one doesn't have that pencil shaving dry down. Last hours on clothes. I don't detect much similarity with Chance Eau Fraiche.

One hundred percent agree that it smells almost exactly like Chanel Chance Eau Tendre. Which was pleasant enough but never really turned into anything special on my skin. So I gifted it to a friend and it smelled magnificent on her. Maybe I will give this a try on days that I want to dig into the bottles in the back of the drawer. I should have trusted the reviews.

This perfume is very pretty. It’s feminine and soft. When first sprayed, it smells very similar to Marc Jacobs Daisy, but it’s softer and slightly sweeter than Daisy. It becomes a skin scent after a while and makes you smell like yourself but better. This is a gorgeous spring/summer scent and would be great as an everyday any occasion fragrance.

I have a small bottle of the fragrance mist lying around and decided to finally try it. IMO it smells like Chanel Chance but sweeter in the dry down. I enjoy First Love better however, it gives me a headache if sprayed anywhere near my face. Longevity is decent I can still smell lovely sweet and musky whiffs of it throughout the day.

I have to agree with some of the comments. It does smell very similar to chanel tendre 😆. Which excited me ! Way cheaper too. This gives me fresh clean straight out the shower vibes. Summer banger for sure. Not sure of the longevity tho. I only have the roller ball. I do loook foward to wearing this to the gym or wearing this to bed

To me, this smells like scented tampons...... definitely fresh feminine hygiene products. based on the notes I thought I was going to love it... but unfortunately it doesn't do it for me... I will try it a few more times.

It smells alot like Marc Jacobs daisy eau so fresh but without the hair spray note. Also very similar to Chanel Chance eau tendre and alot cheaper than Chanel. It's not the most original scent but I like it.

It's really fresh and lovely. It smells 90% like Chance eau tendre, but I wouldn't say it's a dupe. It's a skin scent a bit soapy. The longevity is kinda bad. Need to reapply after 2-3 hours.

Like this name of the perfume first love..i fall in love when first time i smell.it smell like fresh musky flower bouquet. This perfume suitable for feminine person..but longevity is weak..

This is very close if not the same as Magic in the air by bath & body works.Very lovely scent.First time I got the card sample I had to buy the perfume.

Update: Tested Chanel Chance Eau Tendre and yes, they smell the same to my nose. It would be foolish of VS to discontinue this gem.

Smells like Chanel Chance Eau Tendre which I have and love for Spring. It’s a shame that this has been discontinued.
