Frostmelt

I scooped this up during the semi-annual sale and I am so glad that I did! I tested this in store last October and found myself so excited to see such a unique scent (I haven't come across any mint-chocolate perfumes prior to Frostmelt, anyway). Now owning this, I am incredibly glad to have something so fun and festive in my collection! Frostmelt is a very "face-value" fragrance which I enjoy: the simplicity of its note makeup allows each note to have its own "moment" as the perfume wears, and it's not a headache-inducing amalgamation of smells that will render you sick. Upon first spray, I was instantly greeted by the perfect pairing of mint and chocolate, akin to unwrapping an after-dinner mint. What I love about Frostmelt is that the mint note is not astringent or sharp: it is balanced perfectly by the smooth sweetness of the chocolate note and it dissipates rather quickly. After the minty opening fades away, this fragrance smells like a mug of hot cocoa on a cold winter night; the heart of this fragrance is distinct, yet delicate. When I reached the base, the tonka note ended this fragrance experience on a perfectly-cozy note--not cloying, not too subtle, just right. This perfume is not a loud projector and has a weak lasting power, but I firmly believe that it is one of the best skin scents I own. As I always grow wary of purchasing VS and BBW mists because of their notorious headache-inducing abilities, I am happy to have found that Frostmelt is a unique winter winner in my book! I highly recommend testing/buying this if you like collecting out-of-the-box scents!

If you go on Facebook and scroll down on Victoria’s Secret’s page of photos, you’ll find the first promotional photo for this collection. I noticed frostmelt had different notes on the front of the bottle “whipped pistachio and chocolate” it seems like they went a smarter marketing route and put mint on the front instead of pistachio. But to me personally, pistachio & chocolate are indeed the heavier notes. Mint is not overbearing at all and it is definitely fresh mint as listed, not pepperminty like twisted peppermint. It smells like you dropped mint candies into a nutty, warm hot chocolate. 🍫 🍃 ☕️ 10/10 the lotion smells more chocolatey than the mist. 🤎 edit: this doesn’t last very long at all, or better yet. A hint of the smell you get at initial spray lasts a bit, but it’s almost unnoticeable. I thought strawberry snowflakes was my worst performing scent, then warm vanilla sugar beat that scent, now frostmelt is in between those two as far as performance wise. I’m a bit disappointed because I have 3 bottles of frostmelt.

These smell just like Thin Mint GSC to me. I love this, it's not overbearing and this would work year round. The mint aspect does fade off very quickly from it's initial intensity. The chocolate is like a black cocoa, dulled down and a bit alkaline, just like the thin mints or any other black cocoa recipe - so if you want a strong and sugary milk chocolate vibe you're going to need to layer this with something. The vanilla is the strongest note for me, actually. Not much projection, almost a skin scent but if you layer the mist with the lotion it will be stronger. I somehow didn't see this scent until I was looking at clearance sale so I'm disappointed this was a very short lived scent and will be picking up another before it's gone entirely. I've been looking all over for a mint chocolate lotion (and body wash which I am still looking). But this is nice as a post-shower spray too or for bedtime. I think this would be nice layered with a pistachio scent as well, or a cookie scent.

I love this. Surprisingly, I still smell it 6 hours onwards. I usually layer this with my vanillas to complement the tonka bean note and add more sweetness, and the best one yet is Bonfire Bash. I smell like yummy mint chocolate marshmallows wearing it. Sillage is just right, not too scandalous. This is best worn on cold nights, but the sweetness really comes out when this is worn during hot days, too. The chocolate note can also be strengthened by layering with other chocolate perfumes. This is so yummy with chocolate cake fragrances. I love the winteresque packaging as well. Overall, it's a really cosy winter hot chocolate fragrance. True to Notes : 9.5/10 Packaging : 9/10 Sillage : 8/10 Longevity : 10/10 Fragrance : 10/10

this is such a cozy winter scent! i tried out bath and body's twisted peppermint but that was way too heavy on the mint for me--this opens with a perfect, soft mint with chocolate that's sweet and not overpowering. it's exactly what you would expect from the notes, like thin mint cookies. on the drydown, the tonka comes out more and smells like spiced vanilla almond milk. honestly, even though it's a mint chocolate scent, i feel like you could still get away with wearing this year-round since the drydown is primarily just sweet, gourmand tonka. i just wish this was stronger! this mist is particularly light in my opinion, although i do find that it gets a sort of "second wind" once the tonka starts to shine.

This is one of their best scents yet, sad i didnt get to try until their sas sale. It smells good on the heat but i just know this will be amazing for the cold weather. Smells exactly like mint chocolate, especially the andes mints. The mist smells better than the lotion, the mist has more of that andes mint scent, the lotion has more of a “fresh” slightly nutty chocolate scent. Still good though. It is more of an intimate scent, i get like 3-4 hours from the mist before it goes away completely, but it’s a body mist so im not expecting much tbh.

when i wear this, i feel like im a walking cup of hot mint chocolate. this mist is so beautiful. easily my signature fragrance as the cold weather stays. I also get this marshmallow note that smells absolutely delicious. VS hit a home run with this fragrance. Don’t go into this thinking you’re gonna get a beast mist because this is definitely an intimate mist. But it’s unique, great for cold weather and it cheap cause it’s on sale. you can definitely layer this with other fragrances with similar notes and have fun.

I adore this scent; it smells like the epitome of a white Christmas. It has a cool minty scent without being reminiscent of toothpaste, it smells like the type of mint that's spackled on the top of a dark chocolate. The chocolatey scent isn't super sweet, it's very delicate and yummy. The tonka scent smells very good and matches the scent quite well. It lasts pretty long considering its more of a body mist.

This honestly lasts surprisingly well for a mist. I was still able to smell this on my skin after 5-6 hours and even smelled this on my jacket the next day. This opens up with a blast of mint, but it dies down quickly (about half an hour), then transforms into a powdery chocolate like those hot cocoa packets you get from the grocery store. I love this. It's a very fun scent and smells delicious.

winter winter and winter. giving Christmas vibes when you drink hot chocolate or drink tea. smells like hot chelate and mint. this is the smell that I return to every year, it is giving me nostalgic from my young age. the packaging is amazing, it was a very good idea to add snow on the packaging

This is absolutely divine. I can’t believe I’m saying this about a VS mist. The mint fades quite quickly and then it pretty much just smells like a sweet dessert. My boyfriend says it smells like delicious biscuits. Wish it lasted longer!

Yummy! Smells perfect on the initial spray, like mint chocolate chip ice cream. The mint fades away on the dry down, though, and I’m left with a faint cocoa scent. Enjoyable, could be stronger. 7/10 for a body spray.

This is amazing!! It smells exactly like a minty chocolate! So yummy omg. Sadly it doesn't last long, especially compared to their other body sprays, but it still smells so delicious

Bought this because of the pistachio note (listed on their website). I LOVE it! Perfectly balanced in my opinion, this is going to be a seasonal staple for me.

Hey y'all, this is just a recommendation. If you enjoy this peppermint + chocolate scent, but want it to last and project longer, I'd highly recommend buying Brown Sugar Babe's Hot Chocolate and Mint Conditioned body oils and pairing them together. I have them both and they smell EXACTLY like VS FrostMelt and they project and last longer too :)

This is a pretty, gourmand mint and chocolate scent perfect for around Christmas time and maybe beyond. It has the perfect amount of sweetness that makes this scent feminine. I really liked the scent, but it just was more of a like and not a love for me because of how basic this scent is.

This smells exactly like those Andes chocolate mints. The chocolate is very prominent here with the mint. I think it's such a fun and festive scent. I don't plan on buying a backup, but this is a cute holiday fragrance. I can see some gourmand girlies enjoying this.

Frostmelt is a beautiful, very straightforward mint choco scent. It's a perfect scent for winter and Christmas time, it just has that vibe. To me it smells like After Eight mints - like sugary-sweet mint and chocolate. It's definitely on the sweeter side, the mint is more candy-like than herb-like, so keep that in mind - if you can't stand very sweet scents this might not be for you. Depending on who wears this, it can be more mint-heavy or more chocolate-and-tonka-heavy. On some people it pretty much skips the very minty phase in the opening and goes straight to the chocolate and tonka notes, with a hint of mint. On me the mint definitely is the strongest note and I'm very happy about that. As it settles on the skin it gets more chocolate-y though. This mist's performance positively surprised me too - it lasted the whole day on my clothes (sure, its projection might not be very big, especially after a couple of hours but I could still smell it even without putting the clothes under my nose). EDIT: I seem to have an allergic reaction to it, so.... :/ Also, the tonka note gets quite tiring after a while, it was bothering me a lot. Would have been MUCH better with just mint and chocolate, but hey, at least I realized I dislike tonka!

Straight mint and chocolate scent, like the notes show. I paired this with "Bianco Latte," which is a vanilla-caramel type scent. I feel like there's so many ways you could go with pairing because of the utter simplicity of this fragrance. I love that. I have a Miimic oil dupe of Kayali Pistachio and that also oddly worked. I wouldn't wear this alone besides around Christmas.

i want to love this so so bad, but the tonka just does not coincide with that mint in the opening! it's very sharp and almost nauseating. the dry down is beyond beautiful though. you get chocolate and vanilla goodness, with the mint blending in nicely, and the tonka being barely detectable (which is a good thing imo).

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream, but i didn't like it. I expected 3 times better. Maybe a bit more fresh so it could feel like a cold icecream? Idk ice note could do something about it maybe. It feels like a hot chocolate with some mints on top as decoration but I wanted an icecream.

Peppermint scent is gone after 5 mins. Then it's nothing but a light vanilla scent. Not getting chocolate at all.

I thought it would exactly smell like Thin Mints, but it doesn't. It opens with a prominent chocolate note and an underlying mint note. The mint is not overpowering or really strong, not like the Mint in Peppermint Twist from B&BW. The spray settles in something warm, woody. It smells powdery, chocolatey, sandalwood like on the dry down to me. Once it's completely settled it smells just like Gingerbread. The Tonka in it does not fit at all though and makes this somehwat nauseating to me.

This body spray was very disappointing. I really like the actual scent of it, as the chocolate isnt too overpowering and artificial, but it disappears in like 30 seconds. No joke. Sillage is terrible too. You can douse yourself in this and it will still be gone in the blink of an eye.

I used to love the Chocomania body lotion by The Body Shop so I thought I would like this. Well, I don’t. It smell somehow quite nauseating to my nose.

To me and my nose it opens with a Andies candy mint chocolate a grown mint chocolate not juvenile , refreshing and fun. Then in less than a minute you got a tonka bomb ! That’s it alllll Tonka not sweet either just a mature not kiddie pretty woody tonka bean. It saddens me because I bought 6 bottles thinking “chocolate” ,anything chocolate i hoard. It’s not a bad dry down if you want a tonka scent to go with your vanillas, but I’m confused as why they didn’t let that chocolate mint stick around it was so pretty not kiddie and refreshing not mint drop sweet like BBW so anyone could enjoy the festive fun. Nope gone in 30 seconds so sad the other review said gingerbread I can see that without the sugar note or calories. I’m returning 5 of the 6 bottles it’s not back up worthy. The old sweet mint from VS years ago was so special and I wish it was a repackage but it’s not. I do think it would pair well with any woody vanilla perfume.

Ok so I dont care what people say here. It's easy to look at the notes and say that something smells what the notes hint something should smell like. But this perfume does not smell like after eighties or chocolate. It has anyone opening blast of mint which is very much easy to appreciate and then the mint dissapates and you are left with a nutty smell like Nutella maybe or some type of nut but it's not a clean chocolate. Dry down has a type of reminiscence to vanilla bean noel. I dont like it. I wish they would bring back Snow mint. This is the only body mist that declares chocolate and ACTUALLY SMELLS like cocoa in there, usually its all vanilla which correlates to a choc note. It has a fresh mint somewhat similar to Juicy Fruit gum, or some choc chip mint ice cream. Its a very light scent, very wearable.

Pros. Smells great. Is very unique and perfect for fall weather. Cons. It doesn't last longer than an hour. The opening is a strong mint but it dries down in a few minutes. So it doesnt smell like mint at all for long. For the price, it should last longer.

I adore the packaging of Frostmelt, it’s so pretty in person!! I’ve gone through half of my lotion and mist trying to make it ‘work’ by layering the scent with sweeter, more gourmand perfumes. But alas, I smell like toothpaste.
