Glaze à La Mode

2 of my faves I'd stalked from the very start since rumors of their release, are Vacation Vibe, and Victorias Secret Sunset Gelato. For anyone curious, go ahead, you can confidently scratch Bath & Body Works pretty Sunset Glow from the roster; it's effervescent night-blooming 'datura' cherry cream soda leans vanillic in the nut aspect rather than heavy thus diverting from the overall mood of the first 2 mists. I seldom have ever followed a fragrance so closely almost half a year or longer out from launch so money is saved and set aside and a whole event gets planned around acquiring such things in all of its forms, backups, for friends, etc etc- the works. We did not have hardly any such foreshadowing with the announcement of GALM in the Dulce collection but it was enough notice to make me obsess slightly over the month about sales, schedules, and locating all likely products in this 'recipe', and fully prioritizing procuring a year's worth of its juice. Which I did accomplish and have been using daily through miserly unseasonal summer dry cold, sweltering hurricane weather, and temperate springlike temps we've had post storm, in liu of my 3 aforementioned faves. Glaze a La Mode in both lotion and its mist manage to sit squarely between both of these opposite SDJ 62 'dupes', but in a way which isn't playing up it's smooth (gelato) pistachio, leans vaguely artificial around the edges, and feels farther removed from the specific notes I personally love about both of the comparison scents (Praline! Salt! Specifically!). There is no discernibly different opening or base in Glaze a La Mode, nothing really candied praline or caramel; it's just the same middling vague syrupy smooth pistachio sans any discernible difference to set it apart or recommend it, despite reports that there is Woods! and Spice! in the drydown (in fairly meager measures- btw- sunset gelato lotion is much closer to GALM than SG's mist is, mind you) If this is an experiment of throwing a dash of toasted-cinnamon-sugar cashmeran into their same old trusty pistachio formula (true to the formulation trend which whipped, dulce AND bohemian collections all launched at the same time are exhibiting)- well then maybe it will grow on me during frigid holiday weather. But currently I am quite dubious about anticipating anything like what I experienced during Into The Night's insane freak transformation last year (brief appearance of a 'creamy, floral-gourmand/turkish confection note from The Mist Most Hated for it's dirty dusty heavy old aura). Which brings me to what I would really have preferred, THIS redone with their weirdo cocoa 'chocolate flower' accord instead, as Velvet Petals Noir was. Or rather something more like Velvet Petals with Pistachio or Hazelnut. Do you hear me? Just stock up on the nutty delicious cheapo pyrazines VS, I'll literally buy out your entire stock of whatever you'd dump them in. ALL OF IT, ALL OF THEM: CARAMELIZED, POWDERED, GLAZED, TOASTED, CHOCOLATE COATED! Please. I HAVE WAITED MY ENTIRE STUPID LIFE FOR THIS. I want them in every imaginable delicious gourmand variation and I want them before I leave this goofy ah silly dirtball planet. I am not interested in smelling like a person or respectable, I'd like to exist as the walking form of an almond paste croissant or freshly baked baklava. Shamelessly, pronounced praline nutty nonsense, are we clear here? Post note what the what is this final feature I have to click before adding my review?! This is a fruity gourmand. I like this mist a lot but it's just too dang weak. It's nearly gone in an hour and it wears as a skin scent. I think you'll need the lotion for this to project. That's too bad because this is a complex, interesting mist. The pistachio is the heart of the composition but it never overwhelms the other notes. You don't get that in-your-face sugary pistachio overdose. Instead, you get a subtle nuttiness that remains present through the entire wear and adds flavor to the other notes. The woody notes give it depth. This fragrance smells more mature. I can't identify the fruity notes. They smell like baked fruit, perhaps poached pear or apple with a hint of caramel. Any citric aspects of the fruit have been cooked out. Its nice to have a more grown gourmand that doesn't rely on vanilla, cake, or musky sugar. This has a more serious, evening, fancy but cozy dinner at home type of feel. I hope VS releases more like this.

Looks like I'm the first to review this one!! This smells pretty much identical to Cheriosa 62 as well as VS Sunset Gelato, just more creamy on full dry down (I have both in my collection). I do love these types of scents, but idk, I'm getting kind of bored of 62 dupes.... I was expecting this to smell more warm and give off more of a fall vibe. It's also veryyy light, so you'll have to overspray. I have to put my nose directly up to it to smell it.

This is not pistachio at all. This is a fruity mess. There is absolutely no pistachio, not even close to leaning nutty. Resembles nothing to 62. Very disappointed.
