Pink Basic Vanilla

A great winter fragrance. I have both the lotion and body spray and find them very yummy. Smells like a sweeter vanilla chai latte. I do smell the spices of the masala chai for sure but the vanilla and marshmallow definitely keep it sweet. I definitely agree that it is very cozy & lactonic. I was on a hunt for vanilla chai scent and I found a great placement. It doesn’t have the greatest lasting power though. It stays for about an hour or two with strong presence for the first 30 mins before becoming a very close skin scent so it does need constant reapplication. I use a perfume oil on my pulse points that has a vanilla chai note and it does help the longevity of it. I got it on sale so I think it was worth the sale price.

A subtle lactonic-nuttiness! The sweetness is not ooey-gooey, but a light whipped cream chasing around a soapy note. The spice here is more nutty than chai -- something like an almond note. I hoped for more of a cinnamon kick, though this scent works its own unique magic as is. 'Basic Vanilla' wraps clothing in a beautifully sweet, nutty cloud of fall-time cozy and comfort. My viscose scarves hold onto to this scent for days. While the sillage is not the strongest, it tends to mesmerize folks when they are up close and personal. This is a very pretty skin-scent all by itself. Try it underneath or atop a heavily spiced scent for pure autumnal bliss!

As a non-gourmand enjoyer... I actually loved this! It opens up with a chai note and dries down to this cozy vanilla-scented lotion kind of scent. To me this is inoffensive which is how I like my gourmands, and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t call this a “basic” vanilla however as it does have that slight spiciness to it from the chai. I don’t usually like lactonic scents because they make me nauseous, but this one is quite balanced. It’s sweet, comforting, cozy, and i like wearing this to bed. I am a bit sad that it only lasts an hour on my skin.

This is my review for the 2022 version. Baby, this is straight up GINGERBREAD!! LOL It smells nothing like vanilla. It is gingerbread and marshmallow notes 100%. I guess the chai mixed with the marshmallow makes it smell like like gingerbread lol Buy it and save it for the holidays tbh that's what I plan on doing. This is a very festive scent. Try to get it on sale. It is GREAT for layering.

So sad that this is discounitued now! Anyways, this is so amazing! I love it and also the body cream (i find it a LITTLE bit better okay) Smells sweet warm christmas but i dont smell the chai note personally. Its rather like hot chocolate with a vanilla candle lit on a cold christmas evening Amazing and have no other words than that VS PLEASE BRING IT BACK!

This is SOOO delicious. It's such a warm, cozy gourmand with heavy vanilla roasted gooey marshmallow. Just a slight Chai note which only makes it lactonic and milky. So delicious but only lasts less than 1 hour and sits very close to the skin no matter how much you spray. Not worth it even though it's dirt cheap

i love this! a delicate chai marshmallow!! very powdery and sweet 💓 edit: omg i got so many compliments when I wore this to school! My friends just kept on saying that I smell so good and I smell like caramel and vanilla; this is just so good, and it lasts so long!

So fluffy, cosy & comforting! Reminds me of Milk Expressive by Commodity minus the powdery aspect and with a chai note. Sooo good, the marshmallow is so delicious yet NOT sweet. Easy bedtime scent, love! Wish it projected & lasted longer because I love this scent.

This smells straight up like toasted marshmallows, but somebody below said it smelled like gingerbread and now I totally smell that lol but with marshmallows. It smells good, will be amazing for the holidays. It’s very soft too, so you wont get a headache.

This is a cozy, warm soft spicy scent. It's beautiful. Think drinking a cup of vanilla Chai tea or hot chocolate with vanilla marshmallow and spices but mild not strong. A hug in a bottle. VS Pink need to bring this back.

Smells very nostalgic in my opinion. It smells like this toy i had as a kid. Its a great fall scent, ill definitely be using it this fall

Smells like a mix of lucky charm marshmallows and Mexican rice pudding. So good.

Bought this thinking it would be a great dupe for Eilish but it leans closer to Ariana Grande’s Cloud. The sweetness from the marshmallow is pretty spot on with the Whipped coconut in Cloud.

I don't like the chai note at all. Not a good blind buy imo since it doesn't smell like a basic vanilla. All I smell is chai. It's okay though Scent 6/10 Longevity 2/10 Projection 2/10

cozy, warm, and chai-spiced vanilla

I blind-bought this hoping it would smell like gingerbread and marshmallows. I wanted sweetness and spice. To me, this is not a gourmand scent. The name "Basic Vanilla" is a perfect descriptor, but the notes are a bit misleading, in my opinion. It's not nearly as sweet as Bath & Body Works' Vanilla Bean Noel, for example, so it could never pass as marshmallow to me. I personally don't smell much spice/chai, either (just a whisper), so it doesn't get anywhere near gingerbread, as many other reviewers have suggested. Either I got the same batch as the reviewer who said it smells like "plain air freshener" (this is spot on, honestly), or there are some molecules in this one that smell WILDLY different to different people. It's not offensive, but I am a huge gourmand lover and I wouldn't ever wear this.

Personally, this smells like almost nothing on me. Very very light chai smell and some vanilla. Doesn’t last long at all. Almost smells like water, my family and boyfriend agreed that the scent is almost nonexistent.

I love Basic Vanilla even though the name isn’t really fitting for this scent because it’s more of a lactonic, gooey spiced marshmallow scent than pure vanilla. Every time I wear this I can’t help but think it smells so familiar, and I finally realized what it reminds me of: Cinnabons! Specifically the icing. This icing effect is amplified by layering the lotion under the spray.
