Sizzling Vanilla

not what i was expecting, but i still really like it! i see the comparison to spiced vanilla for sure, but i don't think they're the same at all--they both have very similar vanilla coconut accords, but this is definitely more summer-appropriate and not so sweet/thick. it lacks the spice and instead has a green, almost tea-like note (like green mango skin). the mango isn't super identifiable, but you get whiffs of it here and there. if anything, it reminds me more of mango skin and mango butter than the fruit itself. the coconut milk ends up pulling a little powdery but not unpleasantly so--it's creamy but not gourmand. i agree with the comment that it's "lotion-y." it reminds me a lot of the jergens shea butter lotion which has mango butter as a major ingredient and is vanilla-scented. it's not a super strong scent but the mist lasted very well on me! edit: the longer i have this/the more i spray/idfk, the more sweet and vanillic and coconutty this pulls to me. smells like cream of coconut, delish! this is particularly beautiful in obscenely hot weather--currently going through a heatwave with a broken air conditioner, and although i'm suffering, i smell fucking incredible.

I am not a vanilla lover. This is an unexpected love for me! It is an unusual vanilla and performs well. It opens with a vanilla that smells closer to the vanilla plant. The sweetness is there and consistent, but it's also dialed back. I can't quite qualify it as gourmand. It kind of smells cloudy. The semi-sweet and citrusy mango has time just to say hello for a minute before taking off in a hurry. The contrast between it and the vanilla caught my attention. The musky base is the backbone of the mist. But it is not a white boring airy musk like in most fruity mists. No. This one is lactonic, milky, lotion-y. It smells like a creamy warm lotion. I cannot get enough of it. So you end up with a gorgeous lotiony mist with a tropical vanilla twist. Sometimes the fruitiness peeks out. It is a cozy scent suitable for warm weather. It is different from other vanillas I've smelled. People seem divided on it. Maybe they expected a pure vanilla and felt mislead by the name. The actual lotion itself isn't as strong whereas the mist lasts 8ish hours.

Does not last very long on me, but is an amazing scent for maybe an hour or two. I find myself reapplying every hour or so, but I don't really mind. On the bottle it lists some notes being "coconut milk & sugar cane", which I can somewhat understand. Not so much the lactonic 'coconut milk', but maybe a little bit after it dries down. There is also a mango note that is rather prominent on the first spray, however, it does dry down to be more vanilla and sugar than mango. It is still present, but not as much as the vanilla. I'm not usually a vanilla girl, but this is such a winner for me! Might be my new signature.

First you get creamy coconut milk and vanilla, mixed with a very juicy mango followed by musk but as it dries down the musk rises to the forefront and sort of starts to overshadow the creamy, frutiness in the initial spray. That's what keeps it from being a "love" as it turns 75% musky/powdery on me. Had the beginning notes remained - this would've been a for sure hit because it smells SOOO GOOD at first. I also get what is meant by "Sizzling Vanilla" because there *is* something slightly spicy about it but not in an overt way. It gives it a bit more of a unique and sexy vibe that keeps it from being totally juvenile. Definitely a hot girl scent but unfortunately, it has pretty terrible performance compared to some of VS's other mists.

Sizzling vanilla isn't quite like I expected. I find it hard to pick out any notes in particular. It opens a little fruity, but also a little aromatic. It then morphs into smelling like vanilla orchid. I do not detect any coconut or mango. I do get a vegetal greenness, maybe that's the sugar cane. It's like if Atelier cologne Vanille Insensée had a baby with Amber romance. Overall it gives a very different take on vanilla, one that is light and fresh enough to be worn in the high heat of summer. I am left wanting a bit more of the vanilla and a little less of the amber romance vibe.
