Strawberries and Champagne

This is an absolute favorite fragrance of mine. So much of a favorite, that it competes with actual perfumes on my list of favorites. With that being said, I might be slightly biased due to the nostalgia factor of this, because I wore this all throughout the middle and high school. However, I really do believe that this is possibly one of the best smelling offerings of the Victoria's Secret garden collection. Now, I know a lot of people would think, with it being Victoria's Secret and with it being titled strawberries and champagne that it would be a very sweet fragrance. This is not sweet at all. The strawberry is there, yes it's very fruity. But it's not sweet whatsoever, it's actually somewhat of a sharp and aldehydic fragrance. If you've ever drank the strawberry Perrier that they make in the cans, the flavored mineral water, this smells exactly what that tastes like. You get that fleeting essence of strawberry, then the bitter bite of the minerals along with the fizziness of the carbonation in the water. That's how this smells... Fruity, fizzy and bitter. Because of that, I don't feel like this would be a safe blind buy. But it really is a wonderful scent, I've kept bottles of this on deck since it came out. And now that it's back, I have like three backup bottles for it. My first true fragrance love.

This is what I'd imagine the OG VS angels smelling like at a party in the early 2000's. As someone who adores the highly disputed Love Spell - I quite enjoy Strawberries & Champagne as well. I can understand why some might not like this because it's on the sort of "screechy" and sharp side in a similar way that Love Spell is. It packs a similar punch and is very reminiscent of the Y2K era of fragrances. It's an effervescent fruity floral (particularly rose) that smells like it's been infused with actual champagne. The champagne note in this is truly boozy whereas it ends up just adding a bubbliness rather than a true booziness in many other fragrances. This gives off the vibe that you've maybe had a glass of rosé which, to me, is quite fun. Some may find this to be a bit of a skanky, possibly bitchy, party girl scent but I find it to be incredibly feminine, sultry, even a little "come hither" (although, I admitedly have to be in the mood for it.) It's not a boring fragrance by any means - she definitely stands out.

Had this one many years back. Didn't like it at first but it did grow on me. It's punchy and it smells like strawberry soda. Although you don't smell just strawberries in any notes. It's a mix smell that you get. Imagine someone dropping strawberry soda all over your clothes, it's that kinda smell. Did love it as a teenager. Don't know if I'd wear such bubbly fragrances now. Edit: Brought a bottle last year, just for the memories of it. I did like it when I brought it again not sure if I like it anymore, too strong and teenage-like for my age but it may work out in drenching and burning summers.

I loooooved this fragrance in my early-mid 20's; I have so many memories of going out and wearing this stuff. The other day, I found my ancient eau de toilette bottle with just a little bit of it left. I get some strawberry in this, but I mostly just get the champagne. It's super bubbly and a bit sour. I can't say I dig it as much as I used to, given that I'm now in my 30s and my tastes have matured quite a bit. It's a fun fragrance though-- I just wouldn't wear it out anymore.

I really loved this fragrance way back when I was in high school. I had my first boyfriend and one day when we were talking, he said that when we first kissed, I smell so good, like sweet strawberries, and the scent filled his mind and always connected it with our first kiss. He even thought that I sprayed it in my mouth because it's like he's tasting strawberries too. That was a great memory of ours, and enough for me to love this fragrance. :)

This is a very simple, yet lovely fragrance. The best way to describe this is a combination of strawberries and cream, with a large dose of some wonderfully fizzy intoxicating champagne. It is a simple summertime fragrance that goes just as well with your jeans,tank top,and cowboy boots, as with your white cotton eyelet summer frock, and lace-up espadrilles. It is a cool summer splash of fruit and wine, and I love it!

This Edp was so fun and sexy, I get nostalgic when I smell this one of the few v/s fragrances with aldehydes. I was a young woman in the early 2000s when V/S had the best fragrances and they lasted. Strawberries and Champagne, Pear Glace, Amber Romance, Heavenly, Halo and my all time fave Body by Victoria edp. These fragrances POPPED! Now you can't smell anything most of them are like faint sugarwater.

My mom had the body lotion version and I really loved it whenever she wore it. It smelled so sweet and delicious. Unfortunately whenever I try it, it just smells alcoholic on me. TT^TT Still love it though. Just not on me.

Another favourite! I wear it all day long every day. It is very sweet, not many love it but it does smell wonders on me. I love smelling like dessert so this is a total two thumbs up for me! :D

This smells like the movie Mean Girls 😍 epitome of girliness. It works amazing layered with more sophisticated fragrances, I wore it today layered with Narciso Poudre and 😍

I love this stuff. I layer it with the shower gel and the body lotion. Is a go to scent to chill and relax. I love to spray it before bed.

My fave VS scent. I used to use this everyday when I was in college. Smelling this sweet scent just revitalizes me whenever I'm tired.

What's with the snobbery? "So juvenile.."- Sheesh! It's a fun, fruity scent that makes you smell and feel good!

[This review is for the EDT in the vintage garden rounded bottle with a picture of strawberries, purchased off eBay in 2014] My first VS scent was a Strawberries & Champagne body butter gifted to me when I was an early teen. I loved the scent of that lotion, as I’ve always loved strawberries. Unlike many other fruity fragrances from around the era, it had a tartness to it that kept it from becoming cloyingly sweet. I loved the lotion dearly, but for some reason I never bought the body splash or any other of the products while I was growing up. It wasn’t until I remembered the scent one day as an adult that I decided to hunt it down. I picked up three bottles of this in the vintage packaging from eBay, so it was already several years old at this point, but I don’t know exactly when VS changed their packaging or when they discontinued this EDT. I was pleased to find that it smells exactly like the lotion I remember: It opens with a tart, fizzy, sparkling strawberry. I must be quite sensitive to blackcurrant, because I smell it everywhere, and sure enough I get it here as well. I don’t really know what champagne smells like other than alcohol, but this does seem to have a fizzy quality and notes reminiscent of a sweeter sparkling wine, perhaps a rosé or Prosecco. On skin, the tartness lingers, and it stays deliciously sweet and tart and fizzy for the entire duration of wear, mellowing out to more blackcurrant as it wears on. However, I’ve noticed that on clothing, it can leave behind a bit of a sickening sweet smell, so perhaps that’s what other reviewers are experiencing. I’ve never worn the body spray, but from memories of visiting the VS store, the body spray is sweeter and more linear than the EDT. I am pretty sure that chamomile and aloe are simply listed as body spray conditioning ingredients and are not notes in the perfume. I think I will always have a soft spot for this scent, and I love wearing it at home, particularly in the summertime. Fortunately, my 3 bottles of vintage EDT are still going strong and holding up beautifully despite being at least 7 years old at this point!

There will probably always be a part of me that loves this fragrance. It takes me back to being young and feeling like I can do anything, that the entirety of my life as a woman is ahead of me. Somehow, wearing it now doesn’t make me feel like a pre-teen even though that’s when I fell in love with it; it just reminds me of that feeling of having infinite opportunities and unknowable wonderful experiences awaiting me and the rest of my life ahead of me. That’s a lot of responsibility to place on a fragrance! Especially one that is, by all accounts, fairly mediocre. But I still think it’s lovely; it’s not overly sweet by today’s standards (though I remember it smelling sweet in comparison to other fragrances when I was a teenager). It does have a fizzy aldehydic quality (their interpretation of champagne?) that brightens it up and lends the otherwise-juvenile (deliciously trashy, in my opinion) strawberry a bit of sophistication. In my mind this is the fragrance equivalent of someone like Sally Rand or Gypsy Rose Lee: you know she is trashy and ought to be trashy because that’s what she’s all about, but you can’t help but think the overall effect is a bit more elegant than it has any right to be. I'm glad to have had the foresight to pick up a bottle on sale before it was discontinued, just in case I wanted to revisit the memories later on. It's fun, bright, vivacious, and just trampy enough.

не понимаю почему так много хейта в сторону этого аромата, как по мне он довольно неплохой, да немного специфический..но что вы ожидаете когда берете аромат с запахом шампанского?)по поводу клубники, то её действительно здесь не хватает, если б я не знала что она здесь присутствует, то наверное даже б не догадалась.приобрела этот аромат вчера, сегодня уже поняла, что на повседневной основе не смогу пользоваться, немного тяжёлый для меня аромат(мне кажется что его просто недоработали, будь в нём ноты ещё каких-либо ягод, по типу ананаса, либо апельсина? возможно что-то экзотическое, то аромат был бы для меня просто идеален, а так..по большей мере чувствуется только шампанское, что немного пьянит, нету чего-то что успокаивало бы его=(я довольно долго искала..и продолжаю искать, аромат с нотами шампанского, и ярких фруктовых нот, чтобы это был "бушующий" аромат, при этом не слишком удушливый, и не сильно пьянящий, скорее лёгкий, игривый аромат, вызывающий некую эйфорию..если бы этот Мист доработали как надо, то думаю он бы мог вполне занять место в моём сердечке, но увы=((что по стойкости, так по мне, тут всё индивидуально, у кого-то может час держаться, у кого-то 2, а у кого-то все 10, на себе я чувствую аромат спокойно часа 3-4, дальше только если уже принюхиваться, на волосах я думаю так вообще весь день будет аромат стоять)

Well, in my country VS fragrances are actually a little expensive compared to other countries. You can't find them in drugstores or supermarkets, only in perfume houses, so i don't have the same "high school experience" memories with them like a lot of people here, so my review won't link to anything in the past. Strawberries and Champagne is synthetic, fruity and slightly citrus (like a green strawberry, not yet at its prime). Is boozy in a feminine way (the same way fragrances with cognac are boozy in a masculine way) I'm sure you guys hear the phrase "white girl wasted". Well, that's what this fragrance reminds me. If i had to describe the feeling, would be like a 18 years old girl went to her first fancy night club, won a bottle of champagne, pop it up in the air and splashed herself with it. Reminds me of White Wine Coolers. Like you're drinking something but you're not supposed to, cause you're underage. Smells like fun, flirty times bathed in champagne. Smells like new year's eve at the beach (salty breeze air, champagne everywhere). It is a little "immature", and i don't think i can see it as an everyday scent (i can't see it at the office, for instance), but i'm sure i'll work it out. Sillage is weak, longevity is medium for a body spray (couple of hours)

I recently blind bought this fragrance and wore it yesterday to work, run errands, and to an early dinner. I enjoyed the light, feminine effervescence of Strawberries and Champagne. This fragrance is flirty and fancy-free. I believe that this is appropriate throughout all seasons of the year, especially during the summer. My nose picked up the chamomile note--which produced a relaxing confidence. It also picked up the bubbly champagne. I layered this with Bodycology's Chilled Bubbly fragrance mist. I showered with Bath and Body Work's You're the One shower gel and oiled up with Bodycology's Chilled Bubbly and You're the One body creams. This was a great combination of fragrances that worked well together. This has to be reapplied throughout the day like most body mists, but it produces a pleasant skin scent and scent bubble. This is appropriate for any age group--not overly mature or juvenile. As a result of its versatility, I believe this to be a safe blind buy,

I had forgotten all about this until last night. This was a staple for teenage girls when I was around 16 years old, and it's probably one of the most bombastically feminine fragrances on earth 🤣 There were a couple of girls who had this ok the synchronized swimming team, so my memories of this are colored by the addition of chlorine. It actually smelled to me like it had cream, or some sort of lactonic note within it. I'm surprised nothing along those lines is listed. It's flamboyant girlish and is heavy on strawberry, but it's effervescent and sweet. It never smelled like wine to me, but it was bubbly and fresh! It was one of those completely topnote heavy fragrances where there's little to keep it lingering, and it didn't last. The girls gave me a spritz or two sometimes, and it never stuck around long. I wouldn't ever get this now, and I own some easy sweet stuff that I prefer, but I recall it fondly. Yeah, it's super youthful, but so what? It's fun 🍓🌞

This is a Victoria's Secret Classic...Many scents in the Secret Garden Collection have come and gone, but this one has never been discontinued. It is not a fruity floral, but a boozy fruity concoction... On my skin it is linear, I get strawberries, champagne and sweet pink sugar, although this sugar is not listed as an ingredient. It is fizzy, bubbly and sparkly just like champagne, and the strawberries are just a bit tangy. It has a crystalline quality that I love and find very refreshing. In my opinion the strawberries could have been blended better with the rest of the scent notes, but I still like it. This is a pink scent, perfect for when you want to feel girly and cute. Nowadays I don't wear it that often, but I still like it very much. I have it in EDT and fragrance spray too, the EDT does last longer, but if you don't apply the body lotion before, it won't last.

There are many VS scents that smell too sweet for me. This doesn't. Strawberries and champagne is a very fresh, light scent, not at all too sweet on my skin. I wear the body lotion and body mist at my workplace sometimes.( I work with little children.) Mostly it its my comfort scent during the lazy days. Sparkling strawberry, so delicious! I love the way my clothes smell after wearing this. I know many say that women of my age should not wear this, but I listen my own nose and my own feelings. This is not cloying! So far I've received only compliments! VS has not been in Northern Europe for a long time, they have just recently opened up some shops here, and also in the tax free market. So, we don't have teenage memories from them (many have teenage memories from Yves Rocher's perfumes).

Well, i thought that i could work it out (as i said 4 comments below, maybe a month ago) but i failed (or should i said it failed me). I simply can't find an appropriate place to wear it, cause it makes me remind so much about alcohol and drinks and the smell you get after you drink a little to much of champagne or white wine. Is definitively for the younger crowd. The strawberry side is actually very nice. If layered with a strawberry body lotion, it turns into a nice fruity scent, but if i wear it alone, is like i bathed myself in stale cheap champagne (well, stale cheap fizzy wine, cause is not worth it to be called Champagne). Anyway, is worth to try it, cause is different and unusual, and since is moderately inexpensive, is not a bullet trought your wallet.

This is my first Victoria's Secret purchase. It was on sale at my local pharmacy for $13 Au. I only purchased it because I was after a body spray for the gym. I sprayed a few different VS body mists on a card and went for this one. I actually really love it. It seems to last long enough for my needs and is not overpowering - so perfect for when you don't want a cloying perfume - such as at the gym or at the beach. I am now very interested in the VS perfumes - so might be visiting my city's airport soon as that is the only store in my city. There are so many to choose from, which I think will make the choice difficult. No wonder so many girls are buying a haul of products (as seen in YouTube reviews).

I remember being crazy over this fragrance back in high school! I would get refill after refill of this one and would keep a big bottle so that i could refill my travel sized bottle that i would take to school. I also do remember enjoying the shower gel a lot as well. Ahhh, sweet memories! Having said that, while i still have half a bottle of the fragrance lying around in my old perfume cupboard, it's most likely something i wouldn't wear today as my tastes have definitely matured. It's very light and the smell of alcohol is most certainly rampant beneath the paper-thin top layer of strawberries and champagne. As expected, it does not last very long. Still, i'll always have good memories of this one.

A little late to the game on this one, but being in Bolivia for the holidays has it's perks- one of them is that I can still get discontinued VS gems, for a better price than the newer scents! My hubby just bought this for me as a stocking stuffer, and we both love it. It's a a fresh, tart strawberry-rose scent to me. Perfect since I love both of those notes! It reminds me of Miss Dior Cherie or Coco Mademoiselle for that sophisticated quality, with a strong dose of feminine edge. It's a bit stronger and longer-lasting than some of the other VS scents, which I can appreciate. I do hope VS brings this one back so I can get it in Toronto as well!

My Mum ordered this from me as a gift along with Amber Romance and earlier, Pear Glace. I find Strawberries and Champagne to smell more like champagne than strawberries, which to me isn't a very good thing since I don't particularly like alcoholic smells. However, after a while the scent does become pleasant and sweet and I can't say I dislike it. I rarely wear it though (I have the body mist which does not last a very long time anyway). I feel as if this scent is more suited to the teenage age group rather than someone over 20, but to each their own! :)

Just bought it today and I actually love it and can't stop smelling my wrist. It opens aldehydic as expected, the champagne note comes first, fizzy and cool. Then the strawberry and blackcurrant emerge and that's when it starts getting sweeter bu I guess the cassis flower note kept it from being too sweet? Anyway it's distinguishable from other VS Fantasies scents. And since I'm a moslem and I don't drink alcohol, it's kinda fun smelling like champagne hahahaha...I love Secret Charm, Amber Romance and apparently Pure Seduction as well.

I tried dousing myself in this scent and uh, it's an okay scent. At first, I thought it would smell like actual strawberries, but when I tried it on, it smells really strong-- REALLY strong... I don't hate it, but I didn't say I like it. I mean, I was expecting something sweet and fruity, but to me, it smells like booze sometimes. And it did gave me a headache that time, because it's a strong scent. But, it's an okay scent, just thought it would do better.

This is a lovely, light scent. I honestly don't even like strawberries, but my friend had this on and smelled incredible, so I had to try it for myself. The only problem is that you need to reapply this frequently during the day, as it just doesn't have much lasting power (like most VS fragrances I've tried). Considering how tacky and/or boring most of the other VS Garden scents smell, I'm rather shocked this was discontinued.

Champagne, a lot of champagne, so much so that sometimes it bothers me a little, but I love this type of alcoholic notes. The strawberry is very in the background and is synthetic, in my opinion it has a note of honey, it smells quite like honey, more than strawberry. A lot of champagne with honey and a little strawberry, it smells like a popular girl who always parties and gets drunk, it smells cheap. 🍾🥂🍯🍓

I get it why people say that they get a headache but my skin chemistry sometimes does wonders and on me it stills smells like strawberries and champagne but it’s soooo soft! So I really like it. I imagine the mean girls wearing this or like a 2000s it girl wearing this scent. I personally wear this scent when I’m wearing my juicy couture tracksuit so it’s really a throwback to the 2000s!

Very Very strong!!!! Not great longevity only about 3 hours, however this is good for a body mist. But it is just so strong which i personally love, i love people noticing me!! But do not apply more than 3 sprays at a time! Lovely scent, not quite as sweet as i was expecting from the name but it does smell like champagne! Scent: 8.5/10 Sillage: 10/10 Longevity: 7/10

I'm still not sure if I like this one or not. I mean it smells great, but not all the time. I can't make up my mind. I don't mind the plasticy smell of fake strawberries, it's not like perfume is going to smell like real strawberries, but the smell of the champagne is what gets me. It's kind of bitter. Idk. I like it. I just might not get it again. haha

Ah Strawberries and Champagne. Every time I smell it I get flashbacks of being 15 when this fragrance was new. I don't know what it is about it but I love it despite the fact that it's the epitome of synthetic aldehyde and strawberries run amok. A guilty pleasure of a fragrance that I shouldn't like but love anyway.

i already made two reviews about this one, a while ago, and today i smelled it again (a friend of mine have it). Smells like bad choices. Like hangover and cheap champagne spilled on the floor. Like i just woke up from a night of partying really hard and now i have to deal with my (bad) choices from last night.

If you like this scent, make sure you buy it soon because this scent (as well as be seduced, pear glace and mango temptation) will be discontinued and at the semi annual sale (JUNE 12). I work at VS so I just wanted to tell everyone now :) UPDATE: This will NOT be discontinued!

Saw this and decided to go down memory lane, but this smells different than I remember. Similar, but more champagne than strawberry than I remember it having in my teens and early 20s. Still nice and bubbly! And I have lots of strawberry forward fragrances to layer this with.

You smell the champagne, but like somebody else said, it needs some more strawberry. I went ahead and mix some drops of pure strawberry scent on it. It smells a little more like what I expected from this scent. Anyways I use it to perfume my clothes...:)

No strawberry smells sadly, not a good strawberry-like perfume option. As always these VS body mists smell like alcohol firstly, and not the drink I mean. specifically you can only smell a strong champagne with this one. It's nice for layering!

OMG! LOL! ;'D My friends and I bathed ourselves in this during high school. This was our scent and it brings back wonderful memories. The body mist was my fave and I wouldn't mind owning another bottle of it. It is good stuff. ;')

sååå tjejig. påminner om samma effekt som viva la juicy glacé limited edition. när man dränkte sig i victoria secret body mist i 8an och hade johnny bulls stövlar fast nu är man 21 och har kjol istället för byxor till stövlarna.

Brings back my teen days. I had a date once and he loved it --- he couldn't stop sniffing the air as we walked. Lol. The body mist lasting power it great for a body mist, lasts about 2-5 hours, depending on the weather.

I like this one! Very straightforward strawberry and champagne scent (more champagne than strawberry, but you can definitely smell both). I layer this with Miss Dior Cherie, as they are similar.

Synthetic, young, sweet smell. It brings back a lot of memories. Definitely nothing like it. Tends to be suffocating and can be too strong for a crowded environment like school or work.

This is sooo high school. Everybody would turn their heads and compliment this scent. Not so complicated but it floated so awesomely.

Very nice and fresh scent. Lasts long. For casual style. Love the body butter too, as if real strawberries and champagne :)
