Very Sexy Sea

Edit: the body mist does smell pretty much identical to the perfume, besides a bit of an alcohol blast right at the beginning. From my experience wearing it today, it also has nearly the same staying power, so if you want the smell but don’t want to fork out what the full bottle is going to cost, the body mist is a great alternative. I’ll be stocking up on both just in case! This is straight up one of my all-time favorite perfumes, and I consider it my signature scent in the summer. Seriously, I wear it every time the weather is hot enough for it, whether that be at work, when I’m out to breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or if I’m on a walk, at a picnic, or literally doing anything else you can think of. Day or night, it doesn’t matter; the neroli and cedar blend here is fresh, gorgeous, and versatile. It reminds me of a day at the beach—splashing through the cool seawater, yellow sun rays on your skin. In my eyes, this fragrance is even worth the full bottle price! I love it that much. However, I also understand that some might want a perfume to last ages and ages at this price (and this one isn’t crazy long lasting) so if that’s a deal breaker for you, get it on sale, or pick up the body spray instead. In my experience, most body sprays at VS last much longer than other body sprays on the market, and sometimes their body sprays even last almost as long as their perfume counterparts. In those cases, if you are getting the perfume, you’re essentially paying for the pretty glass bottle. If you’re getting these perfumes on sale that might not be a big deal, but I know a lot of people like to be careful with fragrance purchases (and I don’t blame them) so thought I’d mention that. I did just order the 2.5 fl oz mist version of Very Sexy Sea, as it was on sale for $12, so I’ll update here on whether it’s a better deal than the perfume. Overall, though, I simply cannot recommend this fragrance enough. If you like fresh, oceanic perfumes in the summer and the notes of Very Sexy Sea appeal to you, at least sample it and see what you think. Please, Victoria’s Secret, never discontinue this fragrance. It’s perfect.

For those saying it's a Light Blue (reg or intense) dupe or clone, have not smelled them on side by side. I have. They are not. Light Blue is lighter, fresher even. With more lemon scent. This has neroli orange. Similar yes, but quite different. This is deeper than LB, a touch sweeter (orange vs lemon). If I had to pick a clone or dupe that this is mimicking it would be Tiffany's Love perfume. It more closely resembles that. I honestly prefer this deeper orange scent to LB's lemon. It's more feminine/sexy to me. I originally purchased this as a rollerball and fell in love! I enjoyed it so much, not only did I go back for the largest bottle of this, but I purchased the whole Very Sexy line in the large size (Original, Sea, Night, Orchid, and double rollerball with Wild Palm/Beach). The Very Sexy line of perfumes are my favorite "cheap" perfumes. I wear them depending on my mood, the occasion etc. This Sea one is of course perfect for summer (or even Spring). It smells more expensive than it is. Every time I wear it I get the vibe of not just a beach, but like a gorgeous Mediterranean beach in Europe. Like a boujee beach. I would 100% recommend this. Especially if you're looking for a Tiffany dupe or something similar but not quite Light Blue.

This is my favorite fragrance, a close second to Alien but not a tie. Yes, it’s a bit cheap but I don’t mind. If you love Very Sexy Sea I have to recommend that you try Tory Burch Nuit Azur. It’s similar in a luscious way but different enough that you’ll want both and won’t feel the need to compare them to one another. In a side by side comparison against Light Blue it is definitely different and I love Very Sexy Sea so much more. To me it’s a more seductive scent and I swear it’s not just the name. Maybe a little heavier on the cedar? Maybe magic? I feel it can fit any situation and the perception will be shaped by the circumstances. Light Blue is nice but it’s just missing something. There are so many cedar(or at least wood)/citrus/white floral combos out there but for me this one really stands alone. You may also try layering Atelier Cedre Atlas with your favorite feminine fragrance to make a unique cedar citrus scent of your own.

I have had this for a little over a year now and it's hands down one of my all time favorite summer fragrances of all time. I smell each note, loudly and clearly, lol. I love the simple combination of Bergamot, Neroli and Cedar. To me this is very unisex, leaning feminine. I LOVE to smell like the ocean in the summer, especially being from Miami. I wear this almost all the time in July and August. I love it so much, I bought the body fragrance mist and the body lotion. I don't get to go to the ocean often enough, so I feel happy when I wear this and the lotion paired up to remind me of the ocean and swimming in that clear aquamarine color water. I think it's a **little** overpriced, but I am willing to spend the money and have this in my collection as my go-to sea/summer perfume for life. It truly smells JUST like ocean spray. I'm IN LOVE with this one.

I worked for VS when this fragrance launched - totally polarizing and very personal for people I found. I'm obsessed with this fragrance and found myself reaching for it daily. Definitely more of a daytime perfume than night. Longetivity is garbage and I found myself regularly reapplying but it lingers longer on fabric/clothing. Definitely a lower-cost dupe for the Tom Ford Neroli Portofino but a little less complex. Have had some people say that it smells like an old lady, others have loved it on me (25 years old). Definitely get mostly citrus opening with a floral dry down but the woodsy note is subtly there. Overall one of my all-time faves? Very simple and non-offensive.

I bought this as a summer freshie. When I tried it in the heat, the fragrance was a bit generic with a few interesting hints. Its longevity was fair bordering on poor. However, when I wore it in the rainy Fall it really blossomed in dimension and the aromatic and wood really stood out. It seemed to linger longer too. I'm much more in love with this as a "forest in the fall" fragrance much more than a summer freshie. Having said that - yes, it does fine in the summer for me. I was just blown away by its personality change during rainy, Fall weather is where this fragrance thrives.

Never smelled “Light Blue” like everyone is comparing it too so can’t go that route. I will say it’s very much the fresh lemon-esque floral aquatic scent I expected. It’s a very fresh clean and complex scent. I think this easily could be a men’s only scent. The bottle is beautiful even the roller ball is. The smell and description for it. Fits perfectly. Almost exactly what I think of. I’d wear this at a beautiful beach resort. Like. Gulf or Caribbean. Very lemon very floral very aquatic and very much unisex.

One of my favorites from VS. I really like the bergamot note and im not usually into citrus notes but the bergamot in here is perfect. I can see how people think this smells like D&G light blue but honestly this smells like the upgraded version of that scent. I went through an entire bottle of this and bought another one which is unheard of for me because I have a lot of perfumes & body sprays. My coworker even wears this perfume after she smelled it on me. Perfect for work!

A few weeks ago I went into victoria's secret and they only had the rollerball and one perfume bottle tester. As soon as I tried it, I INSTANTLY thought of the old True Religion perfume that was shaped like a shell. I have been in search of a similar perfume and now it is finally here! I just went today and got the 3.4 oz, body mist, and lotion bundle. What's nice about this perfume is that it also has long durability. I LOVE IT! <3

My favorite of the Very Sexy line! As others have mentioned it's definitely reminiscent of Light Blue by D&G. I would say VSS is a little deeper, leans more masculine, and definitely reads to me as more of a warm-weather exclusive scent (I wear LB in every season, but I never reach for this outside of summer). One of my favorites in my collection for sure!

This flanker reminds me of balmy warm summer nights at a Jones beach concert. It’s the way the evening air smells with the ocean breeze and all of the other elements- idk what it is exactly but this scent instantly transports me there. Something very specific about LI beach buildings/facilities it has that smell. It’s nice and I enjoy wearing it!

I've owned this for four years now and I just don't tire of it. Just as summer comes along, I find myself wanting to bathe in this. It sure helps that it's a compliment magnet. I haven't tried Neroli Portofino by TF which I am told is similar but if I can smell the same without breaking the bank, VS VSS is a no brainer!

I’m addicted to this one, smells like Light Blue with the perfect hit of neroli. Leans a bit masculine but as a fresh scent lover this is one of my absolute favorites. Cedar drydown is very nice as well, and longevity is great. I can spray once or twice and still smell it on myself about 6-7 hours later.

This is a gorgeous scent, it’s dark & sexy yet very summery at the same time! The name & the dark teal packaging are perfect for this scent. It makes me think of skinny dipping in the ocean at night at a tropical resort with a sexy “friend” 😉

This smells just amazing! Like the sea breeze, beach. I will wear it next spring and summer! It also has some magical and SPA aura to it, it’s indescribable...it smells like freedom, passion and fantasy to me 💙

i love this fragrance! it smells very similar to dolce and gabbana light blue, except this one is fuller bodied and a little sexier which i prefer. it lasts a long time and the packaging is beautiful

This was a blind buy. I should know better by now, but I did get lucky this time. Initially there was something in this that smelled... *odd* to me — turns out, it was the neroli — but even so, I liked it well enough to keep spraying. I’ve worn it about 4 times now, and each time I wear it, I like it more. To me, Sea has a distinct similarity to “In the Sun” by Bath and Body Works. To my nose, ITS has a slightly brighter citrus note, rounded out by a warm, woody note. VS Sea doesn’t quite have the brightness OR the warmth of ITS. I can detect a faint hint of cedar in this, but I wish Sea had whatever gives ITS that warmth. This will probably be splendid to wear in milder temps, but for now I wear fragrances like this to give me a reminder of warmth and beaches during the winter. Whether it’s the fragrance itself or power of suggestion from the name, it really does make me think of warm, crystal blue water along the Mediterranean coast. (And I do love the shape/design and the deep teal color of the bottle.) There are rollerball versions of this available on ebay - it’s worth trying them out before buying full size. Much as I’m enjoying this, I don’t think it’s a safe blind buy. But if you like BBW’s In The Sun or just like the listed notes, this one’s worth testing.

My Misses bought this late summer early fall last year. She couldn't stand it as she stated it was a bit more woody on her skin and leaned more masculine to her nose. She asks me "You try it and tell me what you think ." I said alright, it's on. Decided to go out for dinner that night and after my shower & shave, I generously hit meself with 8-10 sprays, come strong or go home I says to self. We're waiting to be seated at a local eatery and the hostess says "Sir, may I ask what you're wearing? It smells wonderful." Quick glance at my Lady and she gives me the ok wink. I says Very Sexy Sea by VS for women. My Lady nods to her to confirm. The hostess blurts out "You're kidding, a womans fragrance?" We both nod yes and a giggle comes out of my Misses. I get complimented 2 more times that night and there you have it. On my skin it shoots of a clean woods with a slightly bitter neroli that is slightly dirty but, compliments my skin type very well. In the end it's a smooth cedar like sweetness with a tinge of fruity citrus and a floral note that lingers for about 4-5 hours. Made for a woman but, strong enough for a man. There it is ladies & gents. Totally unisex if you ask me. Just try it on skin first and see how it works. For me not bad at all......

This is a very pleasant, fresh, lemon/citrus that escapes being sugared candy and is instead balanced and lightly woody/herbal with a freshness that is very uplifting. I never get any amber because this stuff is gone in an hour. I spray first thing when I get dressed and it’s gone before work. I really with it lasted longer because it’s lovely and has unique characteristics that would make it a perfect summer day or vacation scent.

Fresh, ocean, citrus and a touch of wood. Very summer-y. The opening is very D&G Light Blue. The drydown is much less so... There is nothing sexy about this. I find it calming, exuding positive vibes, the kind of scent that makes me feel happy. a good one for daytime. Very unisex. Not a lot of sillage or longevity, but most citrus scents need reapplication fairly often. It is discontinued but still findable--for the moment.

I just smelled this today and as soon as I smelled it I recognized it: Light Blue, only not as woody as Light Blue. I honestly like it better than LB. I think the citrus comes through a little brighter and not that overwhelming wooden note I struggle with. The bottle is truly classy as well. Longevity seems similar to my Light Blue I own.

Very feminine at the first smell. It gives me fresh and zesty with a sweetness of the ocean. Then dry down a bit quickly less than an hour gives me a clean vibe like Tom ford Neroli that can wear regardless of sex. Amazing combination and simply beautiful but I hope it can stay a little longer like Tom ford

I don't like Very Sexy at all but decided to try this anyway. I'm so glad I did. This is so much better! Super citrusy with spicy bergamot and honeyed neroli over a soft cedar base. Cool and refreshing. This will be fantastic this summer. Love the teal bottle too!

Very nice. It’s a pleasant and elegant neroli scent. It smells expensive and it’s not overly sweet. It’s not groundbreaking but it’s well done. It’s feminine and easy to like. Like a hotel soap.

100% dupe for Moschino I Love Love and 90% dupe for DGLB

Very Sexy Sea starts out with an almost candy-like sweetness that I quite like, but as it wears, it becomes the usual ocean-themed fragrance similar to Light Blue or Acqua di Gioia (cedar + jasmine + lemon). Personally I'm not a fan of those types of fragrances, and always hope for something different. I wouldn't call that scent profile ocean-y . . . I think it's just that because it's been marketed that way over and over again, it's become standard. Very Sexy Sea is more bearable than those fragrances, I think, but nothing new when it comes to the aquatic fragrance category.

This doesn't smell anything like D&G Light Blue to me. Light Blue has a lot of lemon which this does not have & its very heavy on the cedar, where as in Sea the cedar is light and very much in the background. Then there is the neroli, which LB does not have. Sea starts off with a nice citrus and after a few minutes the neroli comes out. It becomes a mostly neroli scent with the bergamot and cedar in the background. Its, for me, a lot prettier than LB since I love neroli and I find LB to be to heavy on the cedar. Its different from what VS usually puts out & I am enjoying it.

Eh. This is OK. Not my favorite sent profile, so I wasn’t really expecting anything to blow me away. This could honestly be a unisex fragrance. And it doesn’t smell bad, it smells very clean, very marine, citrusy and fresh. But it’s just a little too generic smelling for me. I think I’ll probably end up using this as a room spray or something like that. Or spray it on my pillows, something. This smells a little bit more masculine than I would like. It’s not a bad fragrance though. If you like scents like light blue, or any kind of cedar citrus... You’ll like this fragrance.

I blind bought this because the bottle is so gorgeously mermaidly to me. The fragrance reminds me of something I wore back circa 2002 and is just ok, sadly has no staying power whatsoever, rather akin to a body mist. The bottle is an absolute love though!

This smells like a “dirty” DG Light Blue, but in a good way. I refuse to like Light Blue due to its overuse, so this is a good alternative. It’s deeper and darker. Definitely a summer only wear, or tropical vacation!

Definitely reminds me of Light Blue but stronger, sharper and a bit more masculine. The neroli is quite strong. I sold this and kept my Light Blue, its softer and more feminine and leaves a nicer trail IMO.

I got this & I regret getting it. Yes, "light blue" but neroli emerges and I just dislike neroli since neroli has that "shaving cream" smell to it. However, if you like "light blue" AND neroli, go for it!

I can only detect the neroli in this, and nobody can smell it but me. Poor performance, very flat perfume. I can imagine this on a older lady. Not bad, but not my cup of tea.

Totally the same as Light Blue to me. it's not my type because I don't like citrus but this is perfect for summer

Gah! I want this for the beautiful bottle and the completely comical name

When I think of neroli, I think of bitter, earthy citrus. There was none of that here, at all! This is BBW's "Midnight Blue Citrus" candle... but in a perfume form + amp up the volume on the scent a bunch, add a giant bag of fruity Haribo gummy bears... and now you have "Very Sexy Sea". It does smell summery, due to how fruity and bright it is - so in that regard, I can see how this would be a "sea"/beach or hot weather fragrance... but the bergamot was too sharp/screechy/synthetic for my taste. I didn't get any cedar/woodsy notes, and this didn't smell at all to me like a refreshing, soapy, or aquatic/ozonic scent like some have said. Definitely test this in store before buying!

I checked this out today. The packaging and color are absolutely gorgeous. The scent, not so much. The first 15 minutes were not appealing, at least to me...I got whiffs of moth balls (Sorry!!!), and after about an hour, it smelled okay. But an hour? EEKS! Too long for me! Please don't judge by my review...it could just be my chemistry. Most of all the other VS fragrances are luscious -- and I was hoping for this to be the same. Needless to say, I got Dream Angel, a few things on sale and didn't buy the GORGEOUS teal bottle of Sexy Sea. So sad... Please check it out for yourself! I might just buy it for the bottle when it goes on sale! :)

EEKS! I have tried to like/love this but....uh uh. It's moth balls to me. SORRY! I don't want to sway anyone's like on this one but... on ME, it doesn't work. Could be that I'm in tooooo dry a climate for this to bloom. Or my body chemistry turns this into a disaster. With that said, I am IN LOVE with the color and the bottle of this juice. I will say, that after 45 minutes, it settles down to more of a familiar Light Blue scent. 45 minutes? Yikes....waaaaaaaay too long. LOL For those of you who this works for -- I envy the path. :)

I redact my previous review. This shit got on my mask when I was on the bus and the bergamot was so cloying that I was literally greying out and seeing spots. Got the biggest migraine and almost threw up on the bus. the cedar drydown is nice but you only get that after about 3 hours or so and it is NOT WORTH IT!

I sprayed this on a sample paper at VS store and loved it!! Yes, it is in the same class as Light Blue, being a citrus aquatic (but not a dupe by any means--and as for the Intense version of Light Blue I cannot speak for), and there is something I am really finding unique in it's top notes. It's a warm, rich scent when I apply it. But then, after 30 about minutes...I am left disappointed, as I can smell NOTHING! I bought a purse rollerball of this scent, as I was trying scents in-store this one really stood out. Reminds me of a beautiful mermaid scent, I don't know why...but a lovely sea scent without the suntan beachy vibe that many scents portray for beach- themed perfumes. Like lots of VS perfumes, this one vanishes SO quickly. I am bummed! Perhaps the spray would last longer if applied on skin + clothing....overall, this is a lovely and unique fragrance, but with zero longevity for me! Update: Very Sexy Sea does remind me of Light Blue Forever, which I sampled recently at Ulta.

VS is the worst! They always DC their best fragrances bc they don’t sell enough and keep the borring ones or oddly enough, some very strange ones. Bare? Daring? Look, if I’m going to VS, I want something sexy and fun. I have my unique niche perfumes, my designer, crowd pleasing scents. But if I’m going to VS, I want to keep it simple..give me something sexy, give me something feminine, give me something fun. VS Sea was all of those things AND appealing for so many age brackets. Ok, Maybe not exactly for teens, but teens these days are way more astute than I was when I was a teen. I’m going to have to turn to EBay for a back up now. Maybe we will get lucky and they’ll bring it back next Summer. It makes sense to hold production until next Summer anyway. Not everyone lives in a snowbird destination like me! I see they brought back Tease Sugar Fleur. Now if they could only re-release the OG Very Sexy from 2005. I would be a very happy girl.

This review is about the Fine Fragrance Mist: The opening was sort of a dupe of Light Blue by D&G. But give it a few minutes to dry down and it’s gonna smell nothing like it. Very Sexy Sea leans towards the floral side. Like face on Neroli and white florals and such. The bergamot is there but just a pinch to only balance that floral component. As for Light Blue which leans towards the citrusy scent. It took me a while to figure out what scent it reminded me of and yes, it’s a dupe of Dolce & Gabbana by Dolce & Gabbana EDT (the one in the red velvet box with gold accent). The longevity is decent. Cant really expect it to last for more than 4hrs no matter how strong the neroli is. I also like the packaging. This scent can sometimes come off as unisex. It will suit people who are around 30s and up. Not a good scent for younger people since it smells kinda mature. For longer lasting effects, i layer it with the body lotion.

Honestly, I love this scent. It's one of the best very sexy perfumes. My favorite will always be night but this comes 2nd, then very sexy oasis. I'm not very fond of the original very sexy but I own those 3 sets. Love them. Smells great for all year. Has that aquatic smell I like. But much better than cool water for women. Honestly the two best collections from victoria secret are very sexy and tease. So fun and playful yet seductive. Bombshell is a hit or miss for me. Most bombshell flankers I don't care for but I do love bombshell in bloom and bombshell isle. Bombshell magic is good too. It's a so so for bombshell intense. It doesn't work for fall but possibly spring and summer. Bombshell isle mixed with very sexy sea us a divine fragrance that makes you smell amazing. Fall or summer. It's one of the best aquatic combos I've tried. I will use them together. Thus bombshell isn't as pungent as the original.

This fragrance smells nice, but this was pretty much a money grab for Victoria Secret because the first fragrance that came to mind when i smelled this was D&G Light Blue. We don't need another one of these on the market. The original Very Sexy and Very Sexy Night are so original and iconic, this third installment to the revamped VS line looks like a disappointment compared to the other two. It's a great dupe for D&G Light Blue lovers, but Light Blue is too affordable to even need a cheaper alternative. You could actually get a genuine full size 3.4oz bottle of Light Blue for less than what Victoria's Secret is charging for a 1.7oz of Very Sexy Sea. Crazy, right? I don't regret buying this, it's nice to have in my collection, but Victoria's Secret could've came up with something more original. Scent:5/10 Packaging: 8/10 Performance: Don't Know, Don't care

I just finished this perfume on holiday in a warm destination as it is perfect to wear in high temperatures during the day. Above all, I find it suitable, as its name suggests, to be used by the sea. It is a citrus perfume, somewhat floral thanks to the neroli, with a somewhat musky cedar background, almost reminiscent of Dolce&Gabbana's Light Blue. It has a moderate sillage and lasts 4-5 hours on my skin. In my opinion it is completely unisex. I think that in terms of quality-price ratio, the Dolce&Gabbana is more worth it since it is usually cheaper and, at least on my skin, it performs better. In any case, I am not completely in love with this olfactory profile and, although I have felt comfortable using it, I would not buy it again. Scent 7/10 Duration 7/10 Sillage 7/10 Quality/price 5/10 Versatility 6/10 Packaging 7/10 Would I buy again? No

Totally Unisex 100% I just purchase to have a summer fragrance, and I ́m glad I did it has an average performance but the sillage is like Tom Ford Neroli Portofino, it also after the 2 hours it smells woodier with the perfect touch of Neroli. I have NP by TF and I ́m comparing side by side its a great similar scent but not a 100% clone, more like they add a hint of Costa Azurra (for the woody smell) great for the price but having an inspiration of NP and LB by D&G. This is perfect for going to a walk with a sundress, or a colorful shirt and washed jeans in the afternoon this summer and you know that you going to sweat but this has that refreshing clean vibe. I recommend it if you like Neroli but don't want to spend the amount of money or if you have already Neroli Portofino but you want to save for special occasions. A good investment.

Spot on color & name choice! This one is very unisex leaning. It's a lovely fresh, woody summer scent. Though I could see it worn almost anytime as a pleasing day/casual scent choice. I just wish it didn't turn so oddly on me in the drydown. I'm not even sure why it does as I can usually wear all the revealed notes quite well, so it much be a note kept a mystery. I love the bottle so much, I may just purchase for my nearly 13 yr old DD to wear just so I can keep the empty when she's done as it's really lovely on her. Decent sillage & longevity, nothing overly noteworthy there...but very decent by VS standards.
