Bonbon

C'est si bonbon! I actually went to the store to sample this specific fragrance but hilariously enough the tester had ran out. I decided to purchase it anyway based on the notes, reviews, and - don't judge me please - the bottle design. This is so far my best blind buy, and I'd say it is a safe blind buy in general when you know what you want. The scent is indeed linear and doesn't evolve much which makes it a safe blind buy (if the fragrance is in your price range) because you pretty much get what you expect - there is no twist. It is for gourmand & caramel lovers. Caramel (which I believe to be prevailing) mixed with fruits and delicate woody notes in this one is just stellar. I get people who say it is not complex enough for the price, but perhaps the quality makes up for the lack of uniqueness. It doesn't smell like some cheap candy or generic body spray from your teenage years. I cannot think of any food to compare it with because frankly speaking I haven't ever eaten anything this delicious. Bonbon could be a dessert in a restaurant where they don't put prices on the menu. It starts off with a juicy blast of slightly synthetic sour peach that then blends into heavenly sweetness. I would've preferred photorealistic peach but otherwise it's perfect. Dries down to delicious fruity caramel with woody notes somewhere in the background making sure the scent isn't cloying. Average sillage and longevity, but if you really get close to the part you'd sprayed and inhale, it is definitely still there after half a day, and if you inhale deeply you'll feel like walking on soft pink clouds. The bottle feels very nice in your hand.

CREME CARAMEL topped with PEACHES. This golden gourmand beauty opens with a burst of syrupy peach that deepens into a creamy caramel heart with light touches of orange-blossom & jasmine, all resting on a amber-woody base with faint reminders of Hypnotic Poison in the long drydown. Well above average performance. Gourmand lovers will not be disappointed. Contrast to Gold Rush Paris Hilton: These are different but there are some similarities with both being super sweet gourmands. The openings are similar, but BonBon dries down more powdery almond, similar to Hypnotic Poison, while Gold Rush dries down more praline-vanilla. Contrast to Viva la Juicy Juicy Couture: These are different but there are some similarities with both being syrupy-fruity gourmands. Viva la Juicy has a faint licorice-y vibe in the drydown that I don't smell in Gold Rush. Both have excellent performance. Contrast to Casablanca Swiss Arabian: These are different, but there are similarities with both being syrupy sweet gourmands and a similar DNA. Casablanca is turbo-charged with oud & ambroxan underpinning it and it's trickier to wear. Overall: A sweet & creamy gourmand, this beauty delivers on its name, and it's much more affordable than many scents with similar profiles. Enjoy!

My bottle of BonBon by Viktor&Rolf represents, to this date, my first, and one of the best designer gourmands. Back in the 2010’s Viktor&Rolf was the IT brand with the release of Flowerbomb. But I was always very drawn to sweet, gourmand, delectable perfumes, so during the colder months BonBon was my favourite of their initial releases. If you’re looking for a caramelised peach, orange/mandarine jammy concoction, this juice is delicious. Doesn’t smell like the most expensive, elegant or elevated perfume ever created, but it’s very mass appealing, easy to understand and super likeable. I don’t particularly detect the flowers mentioned in the pyramid notes just caramelised peaches and a warm, cozy, creamy, woody base. Scrumptious to the point of becoming an overindulgent olfactive treat. Ten years later, we find ourselves in a market flooded with all kinds of delicious gourmands but I personally still love BonBon as much as I did when it was launched and I don’t find it immature or irrelevant. Might not be as hyped or as popular as it once was but it’s a good one for gourmands lovers!

Oh, Bonbon! This is the fragrance that started my gourmand obsession. There really is nothing else quite like it. Bonbon wraps you in a cloud of caramel sugar. It's warm, cozy, sweet, and decadent. At first glance, yes, it bears similarities to Fantasy. But Bonbon is much more rich, buttery, and long lasting. There's nothing "dark" about this one. Bonbon is very well-represented by the deep fuchsia color of the bottle. It's an undeniably feminine fragrance, delightful and young, more flirty than femme fatale. If you're on the fence because of the overwhelmingly sweet initial blast, spray it on an article of clothing and come back to it. That's what made me fall in love with it. There is a juicy complexity at play here--the peach and mandarin notes are so subtly well-blended that they can be hard to smell on oneself. It's worth noting that my boyfriend at the time, a notorious hater of ALL perfumes, leaned in and said, "Mmm...wait, what is that? You smell really good!" That's when I realized this was truly something special. Warm, gooey, sugary, juicy, delightful.

Love love love Bonbon. One of my first higher end perfumes, and it's the scent my boyfriend associates with me. Beautiful caramel, white floral, and orange. I always want to eat my skin when I wear Bonbon. However, sigh... she doesn't last. Her projection is.. decent. A while back when I would wear exclusively BB, I bought a few travel sprays to keep with me, and that definitely helped. Lasts moderately on clothes (5-6 hrs), super weak on skin (2 hrs max). Such a shame, too, because its such a wonderful frag. I will keep buying BB though, purely for the happiness it brings me. A perfume doesn't have to have outstanding performance for me to enjoy it. Sometimes its good to have more intimate scents. Love it for date night :). Perhaps I'll pick up some of her flankers sometime, an intense version would be wonderful. Bonbon couture, as I understand it, is stronger, but less sweet (my favorite part of og BB!). Oh well, I'll keep on loving it for what it is. Definitely a safe blind-buy to me if you like gourmands.

This is not my usual type of scent, but it's the only perfume I've ever worn that has garnered me a compliment from a stranger. A man flagged me down to ask me about it and then said he was going to buy a bottle for his girlfriend. I can see why it captivated him. It's undeniably very sweet like candy as the name suggests, but it's not the kind of fragrance that makes you crave a donut. It still smells like a perfume, it's well rounded, has some depth to it. I actually despise the smell of white florals to the point of getting sick but I cannot really detect the jasmine and orange blossom specifically here, they don't stand out (to my nose), and I enjoy this fragrance a lot. Overall my only qualm is that it is heavy, I cannot wear it in the summer, for sure it is a cool/cold weather scent. But I would say it's a very good date night scent, sweet and sexy and can be quite magnetic and irresistible. Just don't over spray it because like I said it is heavy. It's also potent, a little goes a long way.

This is my favourite Gourmand fragrance . it is a grown up sugar sultry scent, and in my opinion significantly better than Flowerbomb. I personally think Flowerbomb is overrated, and I already know I will get Flack for this, but I am none the less going to State my opinion: Bonbon is significantly better, desirable, and my personal favorite from the designer house . I said this is a grown up your version because, of course, you smell caramel and the sugary goodness associated with its fragrance, but you're also smell the sandalwood and a subtle cedar. If you are a fan of Prada's Candy you absolutely will love this fragrance. Even more so. I wanted to love candy, but it was just too linear, depthless for me . there is no sex appeal to candy . I feel Bonbon has that and more . you honestly have to try it . the first time I put it on I made love to my boyfriend all night because I felt sexy . me feeling sexy is more important than anything . Bonbon does that for me.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Bon Bon! For some reasons, she has helped calm me down the most out of all the perfumes I have. There is something really serene and soothing about this well blended scent. And there is nothing else like her in my 40+ bottles of perfume collection, I have other scents I love too but none of the other perfume gave me this weird kinda comfort. She puts me feel at peace and relaxed, like a warm hug from a mother. First notes are citrus 🍊 , but then warm and milky undertone of caramel note is very dominant afterwards which I absolutely loveee. My boyfriend likes her too and he doesn’t compliment on many of my perfume. She doesn't have a beast sillage and also doesn't last too long on my skin :( but amazing on clothes. Probably 10+ hours on fabric. For the calming effect I would still be wearing her frequently, especially to bed 💗. Guilty pleasure xx

the opening is sharp and fresh with white florals, while the peach and orange are sweet and tropical. not so long after i get that ooey gooey caramel sparkling with sugar. at times it can smell cotton candy-like. i love this caramel, it is so decadent and truly reminiscent of a sweet treat, almost cookie-like. it is powdery, but light. i get some lactonic milkiness to it which i love. a little spicy also with some vanilla tones. by the end there is a comforting warm woodiness that is addicting. this scent is comforting all the way through. the bottle is cute too, and i’m going to try the pastel version as well. 🎀🍮🍬 update: did not like pastel as much- was expecting a sweet salted caramel because of the sea notes, it’s sort of there but just feels too light. smells almost too airy. the original bonbon feels more dense, rich and candylike.

I actually do love this fragrance. When I first got my bottle I wasn’t in love but now it’s a love! To me it did take time to develop but the more I smell it. The more I like it and I have let my bottle macerate to perfection. To me this is a peachy, citrusy, caramel fragrance. You have to like them sweet but to me the citrus keeps it from being too cloying. At first it can be sharp but once it drys down it’s beautiful. The longevity could be better though I feel it only lasts 3-5 hours...projection and silage could probably be better too. It’s overall good for every day. I live in Florida and I wore it in the heat and liked it so I think it’s a good year round fragrance. I am happy to have it in my vast collection.

I was hoping for little more than a cloying scent overrun by caramel. Everyone seems to praise this, but to me it's just sickeningly sweet. I don't smell any peach or orange, which is a shame... it's also a bit more mature in my opinion, and when smelling it, evokes an image of a specific type of person in my mind. It's not horrible by any means, just feel like it's less than what people say it is. edit: i tried it couple more times and now i do get more of the peach, nonetheless it is still quite cloying in my opinion. such a shame, the olfactory profile seemed promising. edit2: i woke up one day and suddenly liked it. i have no idea how this even works... but i do like this perfume now...

At first it reminded me so much of Fancy by Jessica Simpson. After a few weeks of use it’s become less of a stuffy powdery, sharp scent. It is warm, it settles so beautifully on my skin- probably one of the best perfumes to work with my chemistry. All of the notes work wonderfully together without any one being overpowering, it is a balanced blend. I will say the powdery note reminds me of makeup, just something I’ve noticed and wasn’t anticipating- but it really doesn’t bother me. Maybe BonBon is a bit of an understated perfume for some, but it’s really well made and beautiful on skin. Lasts a long time too. It’s become a favourite 😍

This is literally everything I’d hoped VLJ could be; a deliciously decadent caramel with a crisp marriage of mandarin, orange blossom and creamy peach followed by woody / amber dry down. With a hint of praline. YUM. It’s a stunner, but it’s definitely one I had to let sit for a while before fully experiencing its beauty! After owning this for almost year, it's finally blossomed! And I’m here for it!! Moderate (around 3-5 hrs) projection & sillage, too. Ps? Layer this with Libre Intense, Good Girl Légère, BBW Dahlia, Jimmy Choo or Poison Girl Unexpected . You’re welcome 🔥

Finally got my hands on this one. I'm trying to figure out what this reminds me of and I just can't. At first it is very sharp scent of citrus fruit and peach but there is something else I can't identify. Smells heavy but pleasant. It grounds the citrus scent and that part is very familiar. It transforms slowly into caramel and jasmine and becomes very very sweet. But that heavy scent stays still and I think this is what makes this perfume special. It was a blind buy but I am quite happy. This is something I could see myself using often.

I discovered this fragrance just recently and I must say I was surprised since I have a large perfume collection with a wide range including mostly niche. I really love this fragrance for its simplicity and longevity. It’s simple and yet so beautiful. A perfect everyday scent perfect for most occasions during daytime. The sweetness never get cloying or obnoxious, it’s just sweet, fresh and everlasting on my skin. Perfect for the days I go to my office (lawyer at a law firm). It’s a compliment magnet and yet, so affordable. Love

At first I hated it for years- literally threw it in the garbage that’s how bad it was imo. Tried it again and fell in love for the first time when I wore it on a warm fall day, cool fall night... made it a floral caramel scent rather than the syrup chemical caramel I was smelling all those other times. Well I was about to toss it AGAIN cuz it was so gross- but then today- gorgeous fall day- it’s citrusy, slightly white floral with the perfect dose of sweetness 🤪. I must remember that this fragrance is for fall weather only!

I absolutely adore this scent! It starts off with yummy peach. The middle warms up and you get a powdery sweet cotton candy with a hint of floral and the base is lollipops and crunchy caramelized sugar crystals! An absolute treat! Lasts all day on me and projects well without being cloying. I have the large bottle halfway gone and I will be getting another once it’s done. It’s the only perfume I’m sure I’ll never get tired of and it’s become my signature scent.

I bought this at the duty free on my way to Mexico and wore it for the entire trip. This will always have a special place in my heart because when I wear it I just get taken back to the beaches of Cancun. Sweet, candy, floral fragrance that lasts! I now only save this to wear on special occasions so that it will keep reminding me of Mexico. The bottle design is so cute! But I would say the longevity is not quite as long as flower bomb.

I have been wanting to add this to my collection for a few months now- I finally bought a bottle yesterday and I am IN LOVE. Initially a sharp fruity opening, but does dry down to a Dulce de leche smooth finish- I cannot stop sniffing my wrists and already have had many complements. A little pricey , but I am a perfume addict and I don’t care about the price tag whether it’s cheap or expensive - if I like it I’ll get it!

If you’re a gourmand lover, this is a must have in your collection. Captivating scent. So sweet, so rich, so well balanced. Caramel note makes it so unique. It gives the whole scent this richness, very warm feel compared to most gourmands. Kind of like a spiced peach cobbler kinda vibe. Hard to put into words. I want my wife to always overspray this one cuz I can’t get enough of it! I wish I could wear it myself 😂

Absolutely delicious!!! I love this perfume so much. It's very easy to wear, makes me feel girly and cute. It opens with the peach and citrusy notes (not overboard citrus) which softens by the caramel. It's very sweet, not overly gourmand in my opinion either. I'm so glad I was able to get my hands on this. I feel like I'm going to wear this one for a very long time. The bottle is also BEAUTIFUL!

Another yummmmilicious scent! It's caramel wonderfully blended with orange, a true gourmand. LOVE. I get an immediate gratification when I put this on, it's just that lovely! I'm already on my 2nd bottle, and I wish that it would last a little longer on my skin.. This is very versatile to wear, but would be lovely for fall. I highly recommend Bonbon for the gourmand lovers like me!!

Bonbon is the scent that ignited my love for gourmand fragrances. It is warm, sweet and rich, buttery and long-lasting. I was surprised to find out there isn't a single coconut note in this perfume since I do smell it on my skin but I guess it's just the sweetness from the caramel coming through. In any case, this is a delicious scent. It's sweet, feminine, addictive and makes me feel absolutely edible. Love to wear it during special nights or cold days. A staple in my collection.

This is my favorite perfume from V&R. The opening is bright & juicy bc of the orange. Then it progressively becomes sweeter & more dense with the caramel & amber but it doesn’t lose the brightness. You can smell the orange blossom - sweet & clean with an almost honey-like quality. It’s so good. It’s sweet & feminine without being childish or overbearing.

A very pretty caramel perfume. This is a linear scent. After the initial hit of caramel with the sweet fruity floral top notes it settles pretty quickly into just the warm rich caramel for the entire duration of wear-time. It's really nice and I think it would be good for autumn. This is a sweet gourmand fragrance done correct. It smells really heavenly.

This was such a love affair in my 20s sweet, warm, and wrapped in that unforgettable caramel peach hug .... But when I repurchased it a year or two ago, I realised it’s the bottle I still adore more than the scent itself. So youthful, bright and sweet without being cloying. I got it as a sample for my niece but I always have to try it once too. I wish I'd have gotten another 5 ml sample for myself. The opening spray is a huge was of fresh sweetness, with a mild dry down that's well balanced between the more demure heart notes and the initial gourmand notes.

Sweet delectable caramelly-goodness. I love this fragrance, it makes me smell like a literal sweet. It's upsetting that it's discontinued. I don't find it to smell fake at all, being 100% honest if someone was to present me with this fragrance and a genuine piece of candy I wouldn't tell the difference, but maybe I'm just a bit silly

This has become one of my favourites in my collection - probably my favourite. It is gourmand perfection in a beautiful bottle - you just feel like it's a treat for nice occasions but when my mood is low I spray it and feel that bit more happier. It gives your step a little bit more confidence. The scent is just addictive.

Wow, this is incredible! It smells so delicious and sexy! I don't find it juvenile or generic at all. Bottle is also stunning. Everyone says that this is a very sweet perfume, I don't find it super sweet at all, definitely not as sweet as Poison Girl by Dior. I am currently obsessed with Victor and Rolf fragrances.

I love this, soft peachy, citrusy, caramel, sweet and seductive but suitable for everyday. A very likable fragrance. Longevity and silage are great! I think this is a great year round fragrance too. The bottle is super cute as well. I love caramel fragrances and this one is so gorgeous! Definitely recommend.

This was my signature scent for years, and I still love it! The citrus fruits together with caramel is such a good combination. It is a sweet but still fresh and juicy scent that lasts pretty long and layers beautifuly with other scents 😍 My favorite combination is BonBon + Victoria's secret Pure Seduction 🥰

This fragrance isn't complex but it's a delicious scent regardless. All the orange type notes combine to come across like a blood orange to me. Syrupy(but somehow slightly powdery also) sweet blood orange & caramel. ;) It performs decently. Very strong 'Like'. It's a 8/10 overall.

I detest all V&R scents except this one. Bonbon is beautiful. It's fruity yet sweet and not overpowering or cloying nor does it smell juvenile. I love it. Peach notes usually smell like cat pee to me, but this scent does not give me that. I would absolutely repurchase this.

I love this fragrance so much. I don't know how else to explain it, but it smells like comfort to me. This was the first perfume that my dad bought for me, and he chose it himself so it holds a special place in my heart. I wear this when I want to feel better.

It's sweet, fruity and creamy..... Very feminine. Ideal for a date Night. Its a perfume I love, but only wear occasionally, but when I do, I instantly remember why I love it so much. Wonderful addition to any perfume collection. Huge compliment magnet also 🩷

This is my all time favorite scent, I get so many compliments. I emailed the customer service team of Viktor & Rolf yesterday and they said that the perfume is not being discontinued! They did discontinue the lotion and hair mist.

Love at first sniff! My husband bought it for me as a gift seeing how much I loved it. It's so smooth and beautiful. Doesn't smell extremely edible to me, I feel like this is really well blended.

I tried this perfume once. It's too youthful for me, but I really liked this juicy juice candy. The sour fruity taste balances the caramel shade of the flower bouquet. It's very nice.

Sweet caramel, creamy peach and fragrant amber. It's bold and beautiful, and wraps you in its luxury. It's a sugary delight with staying power. I feel like I'm in a candyfloss cloud.

A sharp opening then a FABULOUS dry down! Just let it sit for a couple of minutes and it turns into this cozy caramel gourmand scent. It’s a ”picky boyfriend”-approved fragrance!

One of the most beautiful gourmand scents out there, I love the bottle design, wish I could get the older formula coz this has been watered down, still a great perfume.
