Flowerbomb Bomblicious

I really like this and I find it quite easy to wear which I cannot say about the original Flowerbomb. This starts out very heavy on the citrus (grapefruit and mandarin orange), giving it a sparkling, fresh kick. I can smell the signature Flowerbomb underneath the citrus but it's much lighter as the citrus really does seem to cut the heavy thickness that I find intolerable in the original scent. For me, this one is more wearable than it's predecessor. I just wish that the citrus top notes lasted longer before disappearing completely, far too quickly. I found the travel spray at Winners for 19.99 and for that price, I took a chance on it and I'm happy that I did as it could be suited for any season whereas the original Flowerbomb isn't great in the summer heat (way too cloying.) I can understand why so many people dislike this one as the staying power on the skin is much less than the original fragrance but that one makes me feel suffocated and queesy and this one does not. For anyone out there who does not like the original Flowerbomb, give this one a try!

This was a surprise find at TJ Maxx for just 12.99. The citrus blast is front and center to start, but quickly backs off and makes way for some watery florals. For 12.99, I’m fine with adding this to my collection and just spraying it frequently to enjoy those citrus notes more often! This didn’t wow me, but it’s fine! I still need to add the OG flowerbomb to my collection, but this is an okay placeholder for that fragrance.

First applying this, it was pretty light. I could get some projection actually from about 6" away initially, but it was a very soft fragrance. It's a very light sweet citrus scent that actually reminds me a bit of Bon Bon because of the citrus and sweetness. It's not super sweet though and honestly right now I don't see much of a connection between it and Flowerbomb. I also had to reapply more of my sample after a couple minutes because even though I used a lot of it, I felt like I could hardly smell it very shortly after applying. After about 5 minutes, the rose, jasmine, etc come out and it does start to smell a lot more like Flowerbomb already, and fruity and jammy as well. Still very soft, though. 15 minutes later it's a bit woody, musky, sweet. Similar again to Flowerbomb. It's a skin scent now but you can definitely smell it on the skin. Someone else had mentioned it before and I have to agree that this is very 'blah'. It feels kind of uninspired and like something just thrown out there. I feel like someone just quick threw together a bunch of citrus, that rapidly evaporates, and then just put that over a watered down lighter Flowerbomb. Like someone rushed their homework assignment but just had to come up with something 'new' quick before a deadline. 30 minutes later and there's a bit of soapiness and the scent has gotten a little lighter. It smells a bit chemically and cheap, too. 45 minutes later and it's a very faint skin scent that is basically gone. I also, for context, used my entire 1.2ml spray sample, which I thought may have been overapplying at the time. But yeah, it's still basically gone. I am very surprised that V&R wants $115 for this and it seems like a cheap unfortunate cash grab off of the success of Flowerbomb. It's not bad, but definitely not great. I would much prefer just the original and the performance on this is like a cheap EDT. Maybe V&R just doesn't work on my skin though because I feel like they always start out incredible, and then quickly fade away and smell more cheap and like plastic. I feel like they lean too hard on selling the cute/cool bottles, and obviously when people first spray in a store it's going to smell amazing and they'll buy based on the bottles and initial blast. And by the time they buy the product, it's already mostly gone and a cheaper scent. I wish they would focus more on their quality and longevity instead because I do always love the first 15 minutes of their fragrances, but that's it. But guess that's usually enough time for people to make an in store purchase based on initial look and smell.

I sprayed several times and never smelled a thing. It was a carded sample so not sure of the quality.

I'm trying this out right now and it definitely belongs in the family. It also reminds of something else on the tip of my tongue but just cant put a finger on. I'm thinking it's something from victorias secret. Ugh its bugging me. Bonbon? It does remind me of bonbon, but is that what I'm thinking?
