Good Fortune Elixir Intense

I like it more than the OG. I love warm, heavy balsamic sweet scents so the Elixir Intense is more exciting to me. Red and ruby not a bad combo, I loooove the bottle, it's gypsy time lol. I detected the solar notes after about 10 mins after the smokiness overload of the opening. On me it was not linear at all, but definitely liked it even more as time went by. Solar notes sometimes don't work for me if they're too green and intense like in the case of BBW's Tropidelic, but hey I get used to them I ended up loving Tropidelic, but solar notes sometimes are giving camphor or dirty floral at first, well not the case here! No camphor or dusty, dirty floral smell here, maybe smokey floral, yes. Smoky sunny floral, I love that. The solar vibes are def present in Good Fortune Elixir, so I was not surprised when I saw them in the notes, and it's done right. At times it kinda reminded me of Tropidelic's solar floral essence or Justin Bieber's Key as far as the floral element of it, but this one here is balsamic and heavy (which I love). The sandalwood is very intense like pencil shavings, which I'm not a fan of, but I love palo santo with vanilla (like BBW's Vanilla Palo Santo which is a favorite). I like the drydown alot and it lasts and lasts on me. I even swatched lipsticks on my arm/hand where I had sprayed this on previously and despite all the lipstick smell, I could still smell it and the projection was fantastic. The opening straight up smelled like an Orthodox church to me, with the carpet and everything lol - I haven't walked in there in forever (I used to work for our church). Never found a perfume that smells exactly like church incense, then I see the notes, yep incense, ugh that's the part I wasn't crazy about cuz it was a bit too smoky at some point, but this didn't overpower the fragrance for long, as the floral solar notes started developing more and it became smoother and more floral. I had to wait for it a bit. No wonder incense is a top note, it is a bit too much at first. It'd have been better as part of the base notes as in Alien Essence Absolue. It is a warm sweet scent right up my alley regardless, and I enjoy its different stages. I gravitate towards balsamic and incense scents, so I don't mind smoky at all. Would I wear it on a date? No, but I'd wear it for my own indulgence. A part of it reminded me a bit of Alien Essence Absolue, what a lovely beast that was, I miss it.. nothing like it. In Alien Essence Absolue the incense was very pleasant (to me) not plain smoky, due to the abundance of syrupy resins like myrrh and amber, plus the cashmere wood with the orris rendered it powdery, nutty, so warm, sweet and smooth, just beautiful to me and the placement of the notes was perfect. Not enough syrupy notes here, but it's okay, it takes a different path than Alien Essence Absolue imo, more floral in its core, but they're in the same league, both have jasmine too. Nevertheless Good Fortune Elixir Intense is still sweet due to the vanilla bourbon and it has the advantage of the jasmine and solar essence reminiscent of the OG Good Fortune which is beautiful, quite floral-perfumey to me though and fresh, different vibe. I'd wear the OG Good Fortune on a date for instance. If Good Fortune Elixir is the Greek church, then Good Fortune totally smells like the dressed up, dolled up women in the Greek church lol esp on the Saturday night 11pm-12am right before "Easter", we dress fancy and smell fancy too, that's what Good Fortune projects, like expensive department store perfumes all mixed together. I tested both versions at the same time, this one on the left arm, Good Fortune on the right one, they do complement eachother too.

I will start the review by saying that I could not care less about the original Good Fortune. Tested it and forgot about it! But Good Fortune Elixir is where is at! This is good. This is intense. Warm, smooth and cozy perfect for cold weather. I get a soft incense in the beginning, some rich amber, even though not listed, a very strong jasmine that dominates the fragrance from beginning to dry down. The dry down gets a bit sweet on me and it’s dominated by jasmine, vanilla and palo santo. It’s a wonderful woody, incency, vanilla, jasmine fragrance that goes into a different direction than some others in my collection and I appreciate that this adds variety to what I already have. Palo santo is not very commonly used in fragrances, especially not combined with solar notes. I will go as far as to say that this is a modern jasmine bomb. And it is long lasting and is projecting well. I love it! Viktor&Rolf has not lost entirely its magic. The witchy concept is unique, the bottle is interesting, it’s not just another perfume bottle similar to everything else. The fragrance is strong and complex but not overpriced like many designers these days. It is expensive don’t get me wrong but it is not overpriced! I had Alien Essence Absolue in the past but I can’t say that I remember it that well to compare it with Good Fortune Elixir like other reviewers have done below. The other fragrances mentioned I have not tried at all! Also, be careful with spraying this on clothes. The liquid is indeed very dark, a brown-reddish kind of colour and it will stain any light coloured clothing. Ohhh, this is good! I am ready for fall...

I almost didn't get this one bc I didn't like the OG Good Fortune, but I saw a large bottle of this on crazy sale, so I snagged it. Man, I'm SO glad I did. This is way better than OG Good Fortune. Good Fortune Elixir is exactly what I wanted it to smell like. It's a dense vanilla & syrupy jasmine with accents of palo santo & wood. It follows the same formula of the intense / le parfum / elixir versions that have been coming out in the last year or so (think Alien Goddess Intense, Black Opium Le Parfum, Libre Intense & Le Parfum, etc.), where they amp up the vanilla & main floral of whatever base scent, and it creates a syrupy sweet condensed flanker. In GFE, the palo santo & incense adds an acidic twang that's not in a lot of popular scents, and it helps the scent define itself & stand out. I personally love vanillas & the amped up designer intenses/parfums/elixirs, so this is right up my alley. Performance-wise, I'd say this is above average. On me, it has about 6-8 ft of sillage, and it lasts for about 6 hrs on skin & till the next day on clothes. Overall, this was a great value for the price I paid, and I'm very happy with this blind buy! If you also like vanillas and the recent trend of intenses / le parfums, definitely keep an eye out for this one.

I had to snag a bottle of this and might get one more, before it became overly expensive due to its discontinuation. While this doesn’t have much of the grape candy, floral smell like I get with YSL Libre Le Parfum, it does have a witchy vibes that reminds me of Halloween. I love that because Halloween is my favorite holiday and fall is my favorite time of year. I don’t get that as much from the original, which I also like. This is a high performing perfume both in projection and longevity. I can smell it on my clothes until I wash them, and about 12 hours of distinctly GFEI and not just an unidentifiable, after scent of a lingering perfume. I personally haven’t had trouble with staining of skin or clothes, but I’m cautious to put this on and let it dry before putting on clothing that may touch an area that I sprayed. It is a deep, DARK purple hue, and so gorgeous, but there’s no doubt this would stain clothing. I’m sad this perfume was so short lived. It’s not for everyone, but it’s still very beautiful and unique. I can’t think of anything I’ve smelled comparable to this one, although I haven’t stayed as up to date on the newest perfumes in a while.

This thing is BEAST MODE. Even the original GF EDP lasts ALL day! But what is happening is most definitely olfactory adaptation. When your brain becomes use to the scent it will then block it as to not overwhelm your sensory all day. Ask a friend or co worker if they can smell you, or spray a sweater, hang it back up, & Smell it later that day, & the next to see if it really last and if you can still smell it. If the answer is yes then trust me, others can smell you too. I really enjoy the GF line. Both intense and OG. They are definitely different imo. Never smelt anything like them. The OG is like a mix of Mon Guerlain intense and some Mugler Alien. And the intense is just a darker, woodier version of the original. The OG has more seasonal versatility, while the intense only works from fall to winter. While simple they have this unique flare to them, and they bring in SOOO many compliments. If you want something more sweet, airy, floral, jasmine, with a slight licorice feel, go with the OG. But if you want a darker, woodier, airy, floral for winter go with the intense.

So I first got this, I came in here and rated it terrible and didn't bother with a review I hated it that bad! I was getting 100% toilet freshener. I've let it sit for 2 months, I accidentally sprayed it on last week and WOW! Something changed ...I no longer get that toilet freshener smell. I get a deep, sexy, jasmine, palo Santa, vampire-esque, really beautiful scent. It has a slight animalistic scent, but it adds the the depth and sexiness now. This went from a disgust, throw in the trash type hate, to complete adore. I really want a full bottle now, for a winter and fall floral. If you still have your bottle tucked away somewhere, your decant thrown to the side....in telling y'all, just pull it out an re-test it. It may just change your mind. Worth a shot. Also I love that they didnt take this in a safe boring direction like everyone else. So with all this said I now rate this a solid 8/10. The longevity is great sitting about about 8hrs, sillage calms down quickly from strong to moderate within just a few mins.

Wow - I love this! So easy to love right away. I found this several months ago at a very reduced price - I think it was TJMaxx online? - read the notes and reviews, and took a chance on a blind buy. I tucked it away for fall. This is the perfect season for this beautiful scent! For reference I tend to love white florals, so the jasmine in this is great for me, but combined with the other notes, it satisfies my autumn craving for rich, warm, spicy fragrances. It's like the best of both worlds. (Interestingly, I've identified "Solar Notes" as a common denominator in perfumes I don't like, to my nose I perceive it as shrill and a little piercing. But with Good Fortune Elixir Intense, it's not annoying me at all like it does in other fragrances - in fact I'm not really perceiving it at all.) Beautiful bottle too, some may find it kitschy or a little on-the-nose, but I think it's fun! So happy with this, now I'll have to try the OG!

I fell in love with this after trying it at a store. It smells nothing like good elixir original. The opening fragrance (first 5minutes) I can’t say I really liked. It reminded me of floor cleaner. In a few minutes though after it settled on my skin, the sweetness of the vanilla and the wood smells of the Paulo Santo and sandalwood came out. I kept going back to my wrist to smell it. Could not get enough. Normally I HATE (with all my heart)white flower perfumes however I can’t really say I can smell the Jasmine in this. Maybe it just blends well with the rest of the scents? In any case. If I could make this scent a picture, I would say that this perfume has a dark gothic mysterious and witchy feminine energy. It’s become my signature scent. I wouldn’t recommend as a blind buy. I also do not recommend if you don’t like sandalwood and Paulo santo.

like many others here i also hated the og good fortune... i tried this one in sephora and fell in love at first sniff. when i ordered my bottle, i sprayed it and it was super duper strong and kinda had a piss smell to it?? so i left her on the shelf for a few months, and decided to take a leap of faith and sprayed it on myself today. i’m so glad i did🙌🏼 i fell in love again at first sniff and my mom actually complimented me 10 hours after i had sprayed it. it has a heavy, warm, spicy vanilla. definitely smell the solar notes and incense as well but the vanilla is the star here. i’m not a vanilla person usually but this boozey and smokey vanilla is addicting and i agree kinda witchy in the best way 🔮🔮 def not a good blind buy tho it may be too heavy especially in a warm climate

Mysterious & enchanting is the feeling...the vibe. A dark, beautiful alluring fragrance. I am one to wear perfume I love day or night, but this is so perfect in the nighttime. The notes listed should not be giving what she is giving. Is it a magical incense or the added solar note? Is it a jasmine, vanilla, palo santo, or caledonian sandalwood I've never smelled before? The entire wear I'm thinking this is delicious & wondering what elevates this to such an "alchemy masterpiece" status for me. I do know though it is a very special & unique scent... LOVE IT! Incense is one of my favorite scents, so it brings back memories of me lighting incense in my room and listening to music. It has a youthful, rebellious feel about it because it's more complex than the original and it's not a scent for everyone since Incense is very in your face. The combination of vanilla and incense is lightly sweet, enchanting, sexy, and mysterious. Since I would say this scent is strong, it may be off-putting for some people. I like this perfume so much that I don't care that it isn't a crowd-pleaser since it's just almost the perfect scent for me. I also cannot think of another person who would be good to promote the perfume more than FKA twigs. I get mostly vanilla, incense, Palo Santo and jasmine.

OBSESSED. For some reason I was super late on Good Fortune. The intense is what does it for me- so rich and deep and flower earthy. I love the incense and the smokiness to this one. It's strong! She lasts a long time and projects well. She's a witch that wants you to know she's there and she's casting spells. This one has me hard, and although I understand why people label it a cold weather scent- I can see this working in the heady heat of summer. I give this a solid 10/10 and I'm on the constant look out for good deals on any size bottle! V&R always do me right, and this one is no exception. I far prefer this to the OG Good Fortune. A little goes a long way and you can spray it like its price point suggests.

This is a gorgeous scent! Its very incensey but sweet with lots of white floral in the opening. Then a strong Palo santo comes in (my favorite part!) smells exactly like a stick of Palo Santo. It has a calming effect to it and a minty menthol vibe. Then on the dry down you get a true vanilla bean that lasts ages. I haven't smelled anything like this. I can't understand how people say this smells like Angel elixir or Donna born in Roma. It smells nothing like those two to me. Honestly wish I could find something similar because I think this might be getting discontinued or it was limited edition. Viktor and Rolf please continue to make this 🙏🏻🔮

This is beautiful. It's deep, dark, mysterious, and thick. I get just a little bit of incense. It's almost smokey instead of incensey. It gives off a vibe though, and very few perfumes do that for me. This one is a beautiful witch in a forest cottage cooking up a potion in autumn vibes. It leans spooky, like Dior poison. They don't smell the same but they vibe similarly, like a walk through a graveyard on an overcast and breezy cool autumn night. This is an absolute love for me. If you dislike jasmine or smokey perfumes, I'd stay away from this. Luckily, I love both!

Vanilla - jasmine - incense heaven. I'm also getting some popcorn note similar to Rabanne's Pure XS🍿 very nice and cosy for the cold seasons fall 🍂🍁 and winter ❄️. The longevity is OK but the sillage is quite intimate - ilI expected it to be a performance bomb but sadly it's more intimate than the original. At the start u can sense the original DNA but later on it's completely different scent, thankfully, as I do own both of them and they are pretty different. It's more similar to YSL Manifesto than the OG Good Fortune EDP. My current favorite 🔮🧙🏻♀️💜

I think this really smells similar to Alien Essence Absolue, maybe it is the Palo Santo that reminds me of the Myrrh in Alien Absolue... I asked a family member to smell them side by side and they were unable to tell the difference. Yes there is a small difference but they are also very similar. If you love Alien Essence Absolue you might want to pick this one up. You need to let it macerate a bit for the vanilla to develop. I think this is a lovely scent.

This smells like fall :) Deep, sweet, smoky, woody jasmine. I tested it in the perfumestore and decided to buy a 50ml. I love it. The original was okay, it smelled good, but I think it was missing something. This is what was missing :) On my skin it has a bit the same vibe as Libre Intense. Perfect for colder months :) One of the best releases this year in my opinion.

If you told me this were a Flowerbomb flanker, I would believe you without question. One of my absolute favorites on my wife, although the projection is so strong it takes a few hours until it is no longer cloying on her. I see this as much more of a warm weather scent than the votes seem to suggest, also it's equally suited to daytime or nighttime wear.

Made the mistake of wearing this over the summer. Nearly choked myself out when I got in the car. Whoever is complaining it isn't lasting on them is straight lying. This perfume will knock you out, steal your money, your wife, your house, and your identity and you'll wake up broke, alone, and homeless begging for more. Just don't wear it in July heat.

This is an underrated intoxicating fragrance. The incense, solar notes, boubon vanilla and palo santo are beautifully blended. It's sweet, dense with depth. If you like sweet grown up fragrances like Libre Le Parfum you will love this. I'm so glad I added this gem to my collection.

I love this fragrance, my current signature. I love the smoky incense top that slowly melts into the creamiest, true bean vanilla, as opposed to a synthetic overly sugary one. It lasts super long and adds a mystique to a traditional gourmand vanilla. 10/10

I’m shocked at how much I love this! I was a little scared by the incense note. Fortunately, I love this! It is a sweet woody vanilla with a smooth incense. It reminds me an Angel Elixir, but this is a little deeper. Don’t be scared to try this gem. 💎

I got this open box so I'm not sure how long it had to sit after the first spray but I like it so much better than the original Good Fortune. The blend is really nice and it lacks some sharpness that a lot of V&R have for me.

I recently purchased this gem. I'll be honest I wasn't impressed. Just I've had a few weeks now. I've had lots of compliments. Now I love it as I can smell what others smell. It's divine.

Fabulous. Sexy. Mysterious. Intriguing. In the same vein as DBIR intense & Gucci Bloom parfum. Not the same scents but same style of fragrance. My fav style. Femme fatale. L o v e.

If you miss Alien Essence Absolue get this!!

Recent purchase that I am quite satisfied with, as I didn't pay full retail. The creativity of the delightful bottle definitely contributes to my overall happiness with this purchase; these days not many houses bother to execute a *complete* concept with juice, bottle and marketing, so I try to support the relatively few houses that consistently produce whimsical and visually appealing flacons, in this case, a fortune teller's crystal. Now onto the juice itself, which to me, as others is VERY similar to ANGEL ELIXIR at first, but this is only initially. While ANGEL ELIXIR is a more linear "jasmine dominant", the GOOD FORTUNE ELIXIR has more vanillic earthiness, and is less sharply floral to my nose. Perhaps this is the incense? Does one need both perfumes? No, but I don't mind owning both, as there is enough of a difference between them and both Mugler and Viktor&Rolf have produced EDP ELIXIRS that last a good 6 hours, putting them at the longer range of "moderate". I do feel that the ANGEL elixir projects just a bit better. Fans of the original Alien will enjoy too, I believe.

This one surprised me. I sampled it mindlessly and slightly out of boredom, as I personally find the bottle to be hideous so it wasn’t a conscious thing, if you know what I mean. The scent took me back to my teens. It smells like a perfume store with traces of Very Irresistible Givenchy and Pure Poison in the air. Whoa. It kept smelling quite intensely on paper, plus it remained its freshness in the drydown. Interesting. I liked it so I ordered a 20ml spray online. It’s a combo between a super generic perfumy fragrance and something more unique and intense (think Alien although it is nothing like the punch in the throat that Alien is). That said this might definitely just have been a Mugler fragrance, but a soft eau the toilette. Sorry if my thoughts are not helpful at all. It seems a safe blind buy for me, if you like the smell of a bunch of good-smelling ladies together, or a stack of coats at a party that smells like jasmine and vanilla and a little like everyone’s perfumes at once.

They really shoulda switched to a darker stone. Obsidian? Onyx? What it matter, they fake. Darker would have been better. That red and purple just clash. I never post comments like this and only write reviews, but I will make suuuure to update this later with an opinion on the perfume. ✌️👌💐💘 The original really grew on me and is such an uplifting and youthful summertime/festival scent, but it lacks any real depth or base. So I'm intrigued by this one. Excited to try. 🤞 Update - Have tried. Extremely similar to the original. Stronger, more syrupy, no fennel (or highly muted), almost blackcurrant undertone. Actually makes me think of the original being mixed with GHOST DEEP NIGHT. it is a touch more LUSH than the original so there's certainly lots of appeal, but I would need to spot it at a steal of a price in order to buy. I have lots of the original (nearly full 90ml) to get through and plenty of Ghost Deep Night too. This is richer than the original, though. Yummy. 👍👍

I think this fragrance needs a little time after you first spray the bottle to really smooth out. So don’t rely on your first spritz to decide. I smelled it in Sephora and immediately went online to find it cheaper. When I got it, I did not think it resembled the tester I sprayed and it smelled a bit sour (maybe the balsamic note) I let it sit and came back to it about a month or 2 later and now it smells exactly how the one in Sephora smelled. A warm floral, perfect for cold fall and winter days. Decent longevity, I spray 5+ sprays and it isn’t making me sick like some darker perfumes can do to me. Overall I like this and will enjoy it during the next few months of cold weather. Sort of reminds me of tender romance by Ralph Lauren. That perfume was so dense it would make me sick, but this is smoother. Appropriate for 30 and up, I can’t picture myself liking this in my twenty’s but then again, scent really shouldn’t have a demographic.

It was a blind buy, I wore it for a family dinner, I think I might have over sprayed it since I ended up having a headache and feeling nauseous then having to take a shower, I couldnt take it out of my backhead(I like spraying perfumes there) and had to scrub many times with shampoo and soap before to stop smelling it, I think it's the white flowers, I smelled them during the life of the perfume, don't take me wrong I loved it but it overwhelmed me. It's good for cool-cold weather, better for formal occasions, dinners, concerts and rather open- big spaces. It reminded me to an Avon perfume of the line far away that cost a quarter it's price and I that I personally like more, but this one is ok. not cozy, or sweet, it gives witchy vibes but without the strong herbal or woody notes( I didn't sense Palo Santo). And now I will have to wait until my disgust passes until I can wear it again 😅 not a safe blind buy👁️

For reference I did not like the OG Good Fortune at all. Very boring floral with a weird fennel note. Just no. But this one is a whole different story and I absolutely love it. This is extremely smoky to my nose. I get loads of incense. The jasmine sits a bit further in the background but first and foremost this is a smoky, woody scent. Incense, woods, and jasmine heavily dominate this fragrance. It’s extremely intoxicating to my nose. I don’t get very much vanilla to be honest, but that’s perfectly fine with me. This is very strong and long lasting on me. One or two sprays and I’m good to go the entire day. Definitely try before buying because it’s not for everyone. This smells like nothing I’ve ever had in my collection and when I wear it I feel like the baddest bitch alive.

I was somewhat hesitant to try this based on the scent on the tester card, but because I am such a fan of the original Good Fortune I decided to give this one a chance, and I am so happy that I did. While I usually find that fragrances featuring bourbon vanilla are a bit too heavy on me, I think that the incense balanced this out very well, and I was quite surprised that I actually liked how strong the incense was on me. This, in combination with the jasmine (my absolute favorite fragrance note), made for a very nice scent. I probably won't purchase this as I already have the original Good Fortune, and I honestly prefer that over this one, but this was still an extremely pleasant surprise for me.

I just bought a bottle of this at Sephora during a 50% off sale. I’ve been hunting for an evening/date night perfume for a while now and this is wonderful. I sprayed both the EDP and this and preferred the longevity and dry down smell of the elixir. It is deeper, warmer, and less sweet, which is what I was after. I am glad that the vanilla note isn’t strong or overpowering in this. This will work well in cold weather but it may be too much for warm weather. I think it’s beautiful and I like that it lasts a long time on my skin because I struggle to retain scents regardless of their longevity on other people. The bottle is pretty but the cap is a little cheesy.

I would test it before you buy it, it is a great fragrance like most people say, right up my street! However everyone seems to be saying how strong it is, and projects like mad etc Well not on me, when you put it on it seemed like it was going to be strong, but i can not smell it after 30 mins max, and it was purchased from a reputable retailer! Perfume really does struggle on my skin, so hardly any of them last, but i was sure this would when so many of you are saying how strong it is, well not on me, and i am also an over sprayer ( i have to be ) so it had 20 sprays, and still no good! So if you are someone like me, try before you buy!

The jasmine in the opening leans on the indolic side to my nose, but the dry down is sooooo good! It's similar in vibe to DBIR Intense, Alien Goddess Intense, Angel Elixir, etc. but I much prefer Good Fortune Elixir over DBIR Intense. It has that extra something and is more unique IMO. While I'll enjoy my decant, I don't think I'll be tracking down a FB from one of the discounter web sites since I already own a handful of similar perfumes. Gotta keep my perfume habit in check sometimes. :P

Good Fortune Elixir is a dense, sweet ,syrup type perfume. Reminiscent of Girl of Now. At 60F, I am hard pressed to find any incense. Definitely suited to cold weather. Very sweet jasmine, orange blossom style of perfume. Sexy and evening appropriate. Nothing nuanced about it. Something you would have come across among GON, Pure XS and many of the sweet designer fragrances from 5-8 years ago. Takes along time to dry down to base notes. Might be more interesting in colder temperatures.

This smells very familiar, and it’s because the notes that should make it interesting and unique are pretty undetectable, for me at least. I don’t really pick up the solar notes, incense, or palo santo. So it’s just another woody-vanilla-floral. Most similar to Angel elixir for me. It’s definitely a really nice scent but just feels a bit generic and boring. Would make a great special occasion scent for a teenager or a going out scent for someone in their early 20’s.

I'm super surprised this doesn't have fennel as well, it's what I smell most. That must be the incense. The vanilla and jasmine are ramped up in this, I think anyone who can't really deal with today's synthetic version of those two things should steer clear. They're intense in this. Which I'm ok with, but it's just got me wondering what this would smell like if it was made 20-30 years ago. Probably divine.

I'm a fan of Palo Santo, so I went for the blind buy. Mysterious, seductive, It has a salty quality to me, a little sharp twinge, and is very sweet. it is a little dark but not in a black orchid way- more like a Lancome LNT- the deep juice elixir. def reminds me of a fortune teller! I like it and I can see in my future that I will purchase a bigger bottle.
