Lavender Illusion

Wonderfully refreshing opening. I'm loving the pure herbal lavender in this one, and the fact that it has been mixed only very lightly with other notes. Agree with another reviewer who said you get an expensive French soap smell, and that this is so much better than the lavender in YSL Libre. There's really no comparison! The kind of lavender I want is almost herbaceous and as close to the plant as possible. I get that from Lavender Illusion. The pine is an intriguing addition and I definitely pick that up here and there. It gives my nose a zing when I pick it up. I also love the juicy black currant, it's such a nice addition that rounds it out. Very classy. Unisex. Great longevity, it's been 9 hours and I can still smell it without even trying. However, it changed after maybe 4-6 hours and now I mainly get just the musk and some lavender. I love it anyway. FIVE STARS, this is a VERY well made scent! I love the Viktor & Rolf house. Bonus: you won't smell like anyone else!

I love Lavender Illusion, It’s like a fresh bath ! You will smell freshly bathed in this perfume , it’s phantastic. Lavender takes its traditional way with a soapy fresh unisex note but has a nice fruity sweet twist with a touch of pine in it. The musk and the pine is so good to me I can’t get enough. The lavender and the fruits together is so yummy and aromatic I could smell this all the time. My brand new bottle is already a quarter gone , I prefer it to lavender on the rocks and I slightly prefer it to my favorite lavender perfume, Jersey. The only thing that needs improvement with this one is longevity in my opinion. I respray this all day long , I either get so use to it or it blends so well with my body chemistry,,,or it’s just somewhat weak. Getting lots of compliments with it , so people must be able to smell it. When I ask them how they would describe the smell ,they say , freshly bathed , schampoo, aromatic ,just clean and sweet and simply good.

The notes by votes is really dependent on when you smell it - what stage? On initial blast, it's all lavender and pine. Very unisex. The dry down comes kind of quick, and I am not complaining! Enter "finger lime" like a fresh frozen marg with a sugar rim and sprigs of lavender. Definitely more feminine and unique. Not really picking up currant, and I definitely do in other frags. I will update, if that changes. Overall, nice! Update: it’s a scorcher today and I definitely smell currant now! I like it more in temperate weather, rather than cold. It’s still nice in the cold, though.

Beautiful fresh lavender and pine! I'm very picky about lavender and this one sits so well with me. And the pine is gorgeous! I love pine in perfumes! I had no plan to buy this because it of it called "lavender ", but I received a decant of this with another order I had placed. I'm so thankful she threw this in with my order. I plan on buying a full bottle if I can fine it.

This is such an obvious gourmand perfume. Strawberry and blackberry jam with lavender bubblegum (I do not care if Lavender bubblegum actually exists). It's not the Lavender we know that is used in Fougère perfumes. It's the kind of Lavender that you might find in a baby cream. No citrus. A good surprise and big like overall! I tested the entire Magic collection and Lavender Illusion along with Dancing Roses were the only two I loved at 1st sniff. It is a happy mood booster fragrance. I agree with others who posted that this scent associated with a Christmas tree. Since I got it back in 2018 it's been my signature scent for winter holiday season. Such a shame this is discontinued :'(

Smells unisex to me, fresh and nice like a cool and clean washroom with some high end shower gels. It must be called Lavender Illusion because the star here is actually black currant, on my skin anyway. I would have preferred more lavender. It's quite fruity on me. In the end it's not really my thing but it's nice. Kind of cleaning-product-like.

Just got this today. . Lovely fresh lavender and blackcurrant scent. Simple and clean. Question. . My bottle has virtually clear juice, yet all pictures show it lilac. Anyone else?

I was captivated by this fragrance when I first sprayed it on a card, it's an aromatic and fresh lavender/pine combo (I don't get much of the black currant). When applied on skin it starts out fresh and clean, and then there is a slightly sweet musky dry down after a few hours. I found longevity to be mediocre (for the price I would hope for more) but on my skin there was a good scent bubble during the first few hours of wear. After wearing it out for a full day and testing a couple times at home, I found it to be too sharp for my tastes, almost headache inducing. I think the pine in it would make a lot of people think of a household cleaning product. I ended up returning it because for the price (even with the sale Sephora had going on) I didn't think it was something I would wear enough to justify having the full bottle. Side note, while the packaging is beautiful, the black tag thing sticking out by the cap is made of cheap plastic and looks like it would break off easily if weren't careful with it. Overall, what I've tried from this line so far has fallen a bit flat for me.

I really like this, it's very different from the usual offerings. Centred on Lavender this fragrance is beautifully balanced and works well, while not getting too 'old lady potpourri' with the lavender. The addition of blackcurrant and citrus lifts it really nicely (no caviar! as others have pointed out). On me the berries shine through a lot, but that's because my skin amps up fruity notes. As it's unisex I sprayed it on a friend and it works well on men too, it's light and airy and more gentle than lots of men's colognes. On his skin it's more lavender and pine. It's interesting to see how it performs differently on different people. It's a lovely fresh scent, it has good longevity and sillage initially for the first three hours is good, after that it can disappear, rather to a skinscent. Sprayed on clothes it lasts longer. I don't get much musk in this, it's worth trying just to see how a lavender scent can be done well. So if you see it give it a go! The rose one (called Dancing Roses) is very good as well. I wouldn't recommend a blind buy on this and I got mine at a heavy discount, the price point is way too high in my opinion, even though it's a beautiful bottle and scent, it just doesn't perform enough to warrant the cost.

this smells a little cheapy. smells like the opening of a lot of maintream fresh men’s fragrances. As to the lavender, it is on the weak side, definitely just an illusion...

it's fine but it's nO "unisex". it's definitely masculine fresh and clean but harsh and can be offensive. 👎🏼

Outstanding. I am fan of lavender but dislike most iterations that are currently available in the market. Most are either too powdery and suffocating (a la YSL Libre) or ruined by an overload of tonka and musk, which cheapens the lavender in my opinion (in the vein of Le Male). This is perfect - sparkling, clean, unadulterated lavender + currant + floral drydown. It gives you that fresh-out-of-the shower scent that lavender is traditionally known for, as if you had bathed with a finely milled French soap bar. Despite the currant, this is a dry scent. Very different from Flowerbomb. Other lavender scents I enjoy are Diptyque Eau de Lavande, Creed Scottish Lavender and Tom Ford Lavender Extreme. Jo Malone also uses a beautiful lavender accord in Myrrh and Tonka and in Amber & Lavender. These scents are not at all similar, but the people in charge of these brands figured out a way not to cheapen the lavender, thankfully.

What an interesting take on lavander!! With the addition of black currant, this is a softer and sweeter lavender, lovely ...really unique!! I love black currant, and they are smelling real good in this one...it is more feminine to my nose, as the vibe is rounded , it isn't so aromatic anymore It is like stuffing your nose in a bush of black currants, carrying lots of lavender plants. The two mix so well together !! really liking that one..it is unlike anything I have smelled..it has a fruity undertone too, very very likeable !! But I wouldn't pay what they are asking for it...

I did not expect to fall for this lavender after reading all the reviews ... but I did! After months of ignoring my 2 ml sample spray, I finally decided to give it a try. The opening on me is lavender wrapped in the juiciest black currant. This gorgeous pick-me-up scent softened into a fresh, sweet, pine-lavender. The lavender is beautifully smooth and successfully cloaked and sweetened by the other notes. I love the feeling it evokes -- fresh, bright and happy. I have a strong hunch a full bottle is in my future. :)

It can belong to Jo Malone line. Herbal, light, monotreme. Nothing groundbreaking, smells like diluted real lavender essential oil. Nice. Fresh. I like it but won't buy because I can just use real lavender EO that I bought for $6 1 oz.

Hum ... I'm afraid that there is a confusion concerning the notes. "Caviar lemon" is not lemon+caviar, but the name of a specific fruit (microcitrus australasica) which is the hottest new thing in French cuisine ...

Just ok, not worth the price tag! There's nothing magical about it....it's alright, just a light fresh clean scent.

Isabelle fr is right! The fruit is also known as a 'finger lime'.
